Dreamweaver Upgrade

Hello,
The office I work for has a copy of Dreamweaver MX. Can we
upgrade from Dreamweaver MX to Studio 8?
Thank You;
Jeremy

Re: Adobe discontinues GoLive
I am using Dreamweaver since version 2 and GoLive since Adobe
come-out with first Adobe version. To me it does not matter when it
comes to either one which one I use. To say that, in use of visual
so call “cool design” sites the GoLive has been always
choice. In case of pure commercial sites where functionality
prevail over the visual importance Dreamweaver was a choice ....
In these days, 12/01/2008 when we like to get upgrade for
latest Dreaweaver we are interacting with ADOBE sales after some
times, and we going trough upgrade to our opinion about ADOBE as
well ...
Someone already has mentioned, that ADOBE become to be a
monopoly ... YEP ! ... we can feel it, they did ! We are trying for
one week to buy this upgrade from Canada and still no upgrade. In
this very moment we are on hold for 3 THREE (!!!) HOURS !
Unbelievable.
Anyhow ... Tomorrow most likely FREEWAY PRO version 5 will be
purchased for our studio and as far as Dreamweaver SC4 this will
become to be an issue ...
Dreamweaver is not bad but seams too, that ADOBE is ... I
wonder for how long they will stand high with this kind of
attitude... In this moment we are on hold for 3:48:16 INCREDIBLE
!

  • Which Dreamweaver upgrade to get

I have Dreamweaver MX 6.1. My system is Windows XP. Which Dreamweaver upgrades would be compatible?

MX doesn't qualify for an upgrade.  You must either join the creative cloud and pay monthly for CS6 (the only version that will run on XP).  Or purchase CS6 outright.   Either way, you will be about 6 versions behind everyone else on the Creative Cloud.  CS6 is no longer being updated.

IMO, you should think about a computer upgrade since  XP is no longer a viable OS for newer software.

  • Dreamweaver upgrade - need Help

    I upgraded from Dreamweaver 8 to CS5.
My site is there.  But when I go to link a file that's on my computer, I get "Dynamicall-related files could not be resolved because the site definition is not correct for this server".
    What does that mean??

How do I know if static or dynamic?  I'm a new dreamweaver user.
Having a hard time right now.  Everything else seems to be correct?
It may be that I didn't define the Local Site setting correct.  But I don't know what to change?

  • Can I upgrade Dreamweaver 4 to the new cs4?

Can I upgrade my dreamweaver 4 to the design suite that
    includes dreamweaver cs4??
I couldnt find any info anywhere else. and the contact
    support is unavailable.

    > Can I upgrade my dreamweaver 4 to the design suite that

No. You can only upgrade to Creative Suite CS4 from
    Dreamweaver MX 2004, 8,
    CS3 or CS4.
Your Dreamweaver 4 (circa Dec 2000) is two versions earlier
    than MX 2004.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Dreamweaver#Version_history
With DW4, you will have to pay for the full version of the
    CS4 suite.

  • Upgrading to new Dreamweaver software

I am still using Dreamweaver MX.
Is there some type of patch that I can download so that my MX
works with my Vista OS? Or if not, can I upgrade to the newest
Dreamweaver software even though I don't have the last couple of
versions? I don't really want to have to pay the full price for the
new software, so downloading the upgrade seems to be the less
    expensive route...
Does the new version of Dreamweaver work with Vista? It has
some issues with my MX version - ugh!
    Thanks...

    > Is there some type of patch that I can download so that

    > Vista OS?
    No.
Or if not, can I upgrade to the newest Dreamweaver software
    even
    > though I don't have the last couple of versions?
No. You can only upgrade to CS4 from DW MX 2004, DW8 or DW
    CS3. Not from DW
    MX.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/upgrade/
I don't really want to have
    > to pay the full price for the new software,
    I feel your pain.
so downloading the upgrade seems to
    > be the less expensive route...
It is but, with Adobe's current upgrade policy, you have to
    keep your
software within 3 versions of the current version.
Unfortunately in today's tightened up software market you
    cannot leave 6
years between upgrading and enjoy the benefits of discounted
    upgrade prices.
    > Does the new version of Dreamweaver work with Vista?
    Yes.
    It has some issues with
    > my MX version - ugh!
    I don't doubt it.

  • Dreamweaver 13.1 upgrade

How can i tell if i have the latest CC dreamweaver upgrade. It says i do. It appears that i am unable to access the new css designers panel. Is using the older css panel the only option in the latest upgrade for windows as of 05/23/14. Thanks in advance!

Go into your version of DW and Click Help > About Dreamweaver
If you have DWCS6 Cloud, you'll see Version 12.1x. If you have DWCC, you'll see Version 13.x there.
You can't "update" from 12 to 13 using the CC application. They're separate individual programs. You would need to download DWCC, if you have a Creative Cloud Subscription. Both can be installed on the same machine (if your system meets DWCC's minimum requirements), they just won't run at the same time.
If your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements, you won't see DWCC as a download option.

  • Unwanted source code appears in browser but not in Dreamweaver Code Window

I am using templates and css, and Dreamweaver to build a new website of about 20 pages. With the first several pages, everything was working well. Then as I continued to add pages, I started to notice some code appearing at the bottom of web pages (under the footer), and then, a page duplicating the footer, and then, the drop-down function on the index page not working (pulls down and pops right back up) while headers on other pages work fine. I viewed the source code in the browsers (IE and Firefox) and I see the extra code at the bottom. However, this code doesn't show up in Dreamweaver, or, when I open the files in Notepad.
Following is an example of the different bottom-most lines of code in the Firefox browser compared to what I see in Dreamweaver or Notepad (note the highlighted line that is not showing up in Notepad or Dreamweaver).
    Firefox Browser:

    Notepad or Dreamweaver code screen:

this answer is a bit late, but i think i have figured this problem out and it is probably still bugging someone out there.
i was having the same issues through many dreamweaver upgrades and kept running into the same problem (only on my Mac though - PC never gave me trouble). anyway, my hard drive recently died and i had a brand new one installed and then i installed a fresh version of CS5. started building a page and ran into the same problem. now that this is happening on a new drive with a fresh OS and reinstalled software, i needed to look elsewhere.
the problem is so simple you will more than likely cry at the amount of time you have wasted on it. more than likely if this is happening to you, you are working off of a network drive or a server. all my files are stored on a server locally, so when i make a change it is saving to the server. either a bad or slow connection to the server and/or a server going bad will cause this issue.
take the same file that you are having problems with and save down to your desktop - then preview in a browser. so the solution is to build the entire site on your local drive and then FTP up to the live site when complete.
    hope this helps.

  • PDF link issue in Dreamweaver

Clicking on PDF links in Dreamweaver brings up an Adobe PDF error that says: "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat. If it is running, please exit and try again. (1:1)". We tried reinstalling to the latest version of Acrobat X but the error continues.
We thought this was an Acrobat error, however PDFs function normally so long as they are not called out from Dreamweaver. We have tried reinstalling Dreamweaver with no luck as well.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
Machine is Windows 7 with Dreamweaver CS5 v6 and Acrobat X.

OK, why do you want to preview/open a PDF from within Dreamweaver?
Added new content which includes the pdf link to my web page and need to ensure the link works before going live with the web page.
You should be able to do so while in Live View, but I would not expect this to work in just Design View in any version of Dreamweaver.
Before received Dreamweaver upgrade, I previewed the web page in the web browser and clicked the links on page to verify if worked and no problem. I should be able to continue to do so now.
If you are just trying to test out what the experience would be like for the visitors to your website, then you should be doing so in a web browser. e.g. use Preview In Browser from Dreamweaver, then click the link for the PDF from within your browser.
I agree, as previously stated, this is what I'm doing and it's not working......the pdf file does not open.

  • Upgrade price to CS6?

I purchased Photoshop CS5 Extended (Student & Teacher edition) in September 2011 and I'm interested in upgrading to CS6 when it comes out. I know that recent purchases have a free upgrade to CS6 (I bought Dreamweaver during this recent timeframe that will be upgraded), but I can't seem to find anywhere an upgrade price for Student and Teacher editions. I'm curious to know what the upgrade or discount price would be to get CS6 as a student, since it seems ridiculous to pay for another full student/teacher version for something I've only had for such a short time. If there isn't a student upgrade price to CS6, is there any way I could take my Dreamweaver upgrade and put it towards a Photoshop upgrade instead?
    Thank you.

    That's right.
There's been a (low key) shift in purchasing policy from earlier CS versions.
The standalone product > Suite upgrade path has been removed.
    From the CS6 FAQ
    http://www.adobe.com/au/products/photoshop/faq.html
What is Adobe's upgrade policy for Creative Suite 6?
Adobe allows upgrades to CS6 individual products and suite editions from one version back (which in this case is CS5 and CS5.5, due to the interim CS5.5 release). For example, if you have a validly licensed copy of Photoshop CS5, you can upgrade to Photoshop CS6 at the upgrade price. Owners of individual products are not eligible to upgrade to suite editions.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/faq.html#purchasing-policy
What is Adobe's upgrade policy for Creative Suite 6?
Owners of a CS5 or CS5.5 suite edition qualify for upgrade pricing to a CS6 suite edition. Owners of an individual CS5 or CS5.5 product qualify for upgrade pricing to the same product but not to a suite edition. Any version earlier than CS5 will not be eligible for upgrade pricing.

  • Dreamweaver 3 and Windows 7

Yep, sorry folks - I still have a copy of Dreamweaver 3, which after all these years still does a good job for me.
    But.....
Will it work on Windows 7?
Looking at a new PC, but the last thing I want to do is to find out it does not work and have to find more cash for the latest versions of Dreamweaver.
    Thanks in advance
    Mark

Yes. Adobe has a "no more than 3 versions back" policy for upgrade eligibility.
MX 2004 is the earliest version from which you can upgrade to CS4.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/upgrade/
Unfortunately you'll have to pay full price to get CS4.

  • Mac DW-CS4 Activation Trouble from CS2 Upgrade Path

Am I mistaken? I've just purchased what I believe to be the correct version of DW CS 4 UPG from GoLive, CS2 or 9. $199.00 Mac, English, as currently offered at the Adobe online store.
However, the installer doesn't find my existing version of CS2 nor does it accept my valid serial numbers from CS2 or CS(1)(as in GoLive CS.) A few weeks ago, there was conflicting information buried here in certain website pages about the upgrade path (which seem to have been reworded now) along with conflicts in Adobe Service Provider documents about upgrades. Furthermore, there still seems to be conflicting / confusing upgrade path info on the top of the list at the Dreamweaver forum FAQ – the post from two weeks ago named "Serial number not accepted." The post says you can't upgrade from a Creative Suite to a standalone version but at the Adobe store the contrary is offered.
    Am I mistaken?
    Could this be more confusing?
Does anyone else besides me find the 7 blue links on the lower left of the Dreamweaver store page regarding "Please check upgrade eligibility before making your selection..." do not work at all? (I'm using the latest Safari.)
    Thanks!
    – If not now, when.

The upgrade path is listed here: http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/upgrade/?view=available.
It says you can upgrade to Dreamweaver CS4 from Adobe GoLive 9, CS2, CS, 6.0, or 5.0. However, that means a standalone version of GoLive, not GoLive as part of a suite. This is confirmed on the following page: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/faq/?anonymous_element_1=2. It lays out the upgrade eligibility very clearly:
Am I eligible for upgrade pricing from a previous suite edition to a standalone product?
No. Upgrade pricing is available only if you have one of the qualifying earlier products listed on the upgrade eligibility page of the product you wish to purchase and can provide the serial number for that product during installation.
Creative Suite Premium or Standard; Creative Suite 2 Premium or Standard; Production Studio; and Macromedia Studio do not qualify for upgrade pricing on standalone products such as Photoshop CS4, Illustrator CS4, or Dreamweaver CS4.

  • Fireworks CS4, Dreamweaver CS3

Does anyone know if Fireworks CS4 would work with Dreamweaver

I use DWCS4 and FWsCS3 and haven't had any problems.
I do have the latest version of FWs, however, find it a real
resource hog and found that I had to
restart this version more times during the day than I ever
did with FWs CS3. So now I use the older
    version rather than the latest.
I can run FWs CS3 for 2+ days straight without having any
"low memory" errors, but the latest
version will stop responding after a few hours. Apparently
Adobe is looking into this, but when a
fix will be found is unknown.
I don't believe you'll have any problems combining versions.

The lastest DW is better than the last, as most new releases
are, but it's really up to you whether
you see the value in updating. Have a look at the Adobe site
and check out the new features and
then decide whether the upgrade is worth it for you :-)

    That's correct.
You can upgrade from a single product to a suite, or from a
    suite to
another suite, but not from a suite to a single product.
Suites offer a substantial discount over the price of
    individual
products, so once you opt for a suite, you're locked into
    buying future
versions of the suite. For most people, the discount makes it
    a good
bargain; but if you want to go back to using an individual
    product, you
need to pay the full price, unless you happen to have a
    qualifying
individual product from which to upgrade.
The various options are listed on the Adobe site:

  • Copy & Paste from PS CS3 to DW CS3?

    Hi Everyone,
I have my nice shiny new copy of Creative Suite 3 (Design
Premium) and have tried an eagerly anticipated feature with
absolutely no luck! I've been trying to copy an image ( small
photo) from PS into DW. Sometimes DW grays out the paste menu item
like it doesn't think there's anything on the clipboard (Win Vista
Business) and other times it allows the paste, but all I get in DW
is an alphanumeric string like "WCD07". Has anyone else had this
issue? Any ideas for a fix/work-around?
    Thanks!
