Dreamweaver white logo

Hi. Can anyone help me with:
I am creating an orange background in Dreamweaver and I want
to bring in/place a white logo on the orange background. How can I
do this? I can usually save an image in illustrator as an EPS to a
design program and it works. But saving an image to a JPEG, GIF or
PING does not transfer a white, knocked out image to Dreamweaver.
Does it?
Alternately, I can design the orange background with the
white logo in Fireworks and save it as a PING then transfer it to
Dreamweaver, but that may be too slow to download.
Thanks, in advance!

If you are saving an image that should be a JPG, then a PNG
will definitely
be larger than the corresponding JPG and that includes your
gradient-type
images. And by the way, I would never do one as a PNG with
transparency.
If you are saving an image that should NOT be a JPG than a
PNG will either
be the same size or smaller than the corresponding GIF. It
just could not
be larger.

  • White logo with transparency on part of it-into InDesign?

Hi all, I have a white text logo that I applied an opacity mask to (in the transparency palette). I would like to copy & paste that white logo into an InDesign file....but when I do, it shoes up as regular full-white text. (opacity is missing- lookes like regular white text).
How can I get my white masked logo into InDesign so that it shows as white text fading into the background?
PS - I am using CS4 on a mac platform.
    Thanks kindly,
    Chemol

Overprint should have no efeect in this case.
I cannot imagine what the OP is doing but there should be no problem placing the  file in ID.
The ony possibility is that the OP is still doing a copy and paste because here you can see I have this placed from CS 5 and CS 4
As white type set to overprint and then the Opacity Mask applied and then without it set to overprint in CS 5 and CS 4
And type with a gradient white 100% Opacity to a 0% Opacity without  Opacity Mask and in all four cases the text works fine as it should when placed.
This was ID CS 5 but I just tried it in ID CS4 as well and all is fine.
So let the OP then release the Opacity Mask in AI delete the gradient filled path they are using to make the Opaity mask with
Then give the text no fill at the character level by first selecting it witgh the text tool then clicking the no fill proxy.
then select the text with the direct select5 or selection tool go to
the Appearance Panel and from the flyout add a New Fill select the new fill in the Appearance Panel
give it a radient fill made up of a gradient with 100% opacity on one end and 0% Opcaity on the other end.
Save that and place it in ID
However you cannot  copy and paste from AI to ID so you will have to place it.
I think regardless of what you tell us you are still trying to copy and paste otherwise I see no way this cannot work.

i get a black and white logo and a progress bar after upgrade ipad2 5.01

  • Will a black and white logo show up good on a black T-shirt?

I'm creating a black and white logo and I wanted to know if it would show up good on a black shirt. Thanks in advance.

That's not really enough information, Chris. Are you printing black ink on the black shirt? That has the potential to either come off as a cool, "stealthy" look, or an essentially indiscernible waste of ink. It depends on how different the ink and fabric are in terms of darkness and reflectivity.
If you post an example of the artwork, it would be easier to advise you.

  • Parts of my white logo disappear when viewing seps in Acrobat - Urgent

    Hi folks
I have been supplied with an .eps logo that is comprised of various grouped elements all on one layer. All the fills are set to C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=0. I am using Illustrator CS
I have placed the file in an InDesign CS2 document against a coloured CMYK background. The logo looks exactly as I would expect with the white parts showing. If I output a PDF it looks correct. If however I view separations in Acrobat and InDesign parts of the logo become invisible.
What is happening? I have examined the logo and cannot see what would cause some parts to disappear. I have not yet heard from my client whether the final printed output is OK or whether it's a disaster.
Thanks in advance for any clues

    Further to this...
I have opened the PDF into Illustrator CS and the logo shows correctly. However if I select the parts that disappear in the seps view mentioned above, the CMY values are showing as all zero apart from K which has become K=0.1
The rest of the logo is showing K=0. Looking back at just the logo in Illustrator shows that all parts of the logo are with a zero value.
Even so, why would those parts then disappear - and what could cause some parts of the logo to have K=0.1?? Very odd.

  • Dreamweaver 'White Box' Issue

    Hi guys
First time I've been here, and hopefully the first of many.
I'm really enthusiastic about learning web design and I'm starting
with creating my own company's website...
Trouble is I have annoying white boxes everywhere...I've
brought the file over from Photoshop to ImageReady and then into
Dreamweaver and I'm adding links, but as I add them it adds these
    white blank areas.
Forgive my lack of knowledge, could someone please tell me
    what I'm doing wrong?
    Here's the link:
    http://www.honeyandthemoon.co.uk/index.html
And some code (I have no idea about code, so if you could
please speak as simply to me as possible I would really appreciate
    it):
    Thanks, Steve.

First let me say that Dreamweaver will be a huge slog for you
    if you don't
take the time to familiarize yourself with HTML and CSS. The
    more you know
about these two, the easier learning Dreamweaver will be.
Second, I want to caution you about using *any* graphics
    application to
write your HTML. The code produced by this method is just
    unacceptable for
anything other than prototyping use. It's 'fragile' in the
    sense that your
layout can fall completely apart as you add 'real-world
    content' to the
pages. This happens because of the way that the HTML
    'wizards' build the
page from your graphics files. To see how a best-practice use
    of these
graphics layouts might lead to a stable HTML page, follow
    this tutorial -
Taking a Fireworks comp to a CSS-based layout in Dreamweaver
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks/articles/web_standards_layouts_pt1.html
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks/articles/web_standards_layouts_pt2.html
Finally, the border you are seeing around your images is
    normal. It's also
easy to get rid of by using this little CSS rule in your
    stylesheet -
    a img { border:none; }

  • Random Black/White Logo Screens Interfering With Everything

I recent upgraded my 4th Gen iPad to iOS 8.3, and since then it has been afflicted by random white or black logo screens that can happen at any moment in any application.  One see the progress bar move for a few seconds, it gets about half way, and then permits me to return to work, but never for long before it hits again.
I have restored my device (from a local back up) three times with no effect, and rebooting/reseting the device tells me to "Slide to upgrade," but the problem persists.
I have even done a total wipe of my iPad, resetting it to factory conditions, and played with it for a while to see if I could repeat the problem, but could not.
This tells me the problem is with the iOS 8.3 upgrade, though I have been able to find someone with an answer yet on these forums.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  This thing is dead in the water for the moment!
    iPad (4th Generation)
    iOS 8.3 (12f69)

This is very long winded and wordy, but I am trying to cover as much as I can in this response. If there is anything that you do not understand or if you are uncomfortable with trying any of this, please post back and I will answer your questions as best I can. There are many very knowledgeable people here that will hopefully offer help as well.
I backup with iCloud and with iTunes. I also sync my devices with iTunes because I have photos on my Mac that I want to sync and I have documents that are stored on the devices that I have moved back and forth with file sharing since not all apps work with iCloud. I also have most of my music collection on the iPad that was ripped from CD's and I don't use iTunes Match so I have to sync those songs to the device.
This is the approach that I would take and be forewarned that it can be very, very tedious and it will take some time. It could take days to sort it all out.
The first thing that I would do is backup with iCloud and then erase the device in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. You will have to go through the setup process again.  You will be given the option to restore the iCloud backup. Go ahead and say yes to that option. All of your content will be downloaded from the cloud and that can take hours if you have a lot of content on the iPad.  This will not restore any synced content that you have on the device, so you will still have to sync photos, music, books or any other non iTunes purchased content back onto the device. If you do not sync with iTunes, this step will be a non issue for you so you will not have to worry about it. However, if you do sync some content with iTunes, at this point, I would forgo that step for now. Use the iPad and see how it goes. If it all goes well, then sync whatever you were syncing back to the device. If the problem appears after syncing with iTunes, assume that there is something corrupt in iTunes.
If all of that fails to do any good, you can backup again, erase the device again, go through the whole set up process but do not restore the backup. See how that goes. If everything goes OK, sync with iTunes - but only if you sync content with iTunes - and see how that goes. If everything works out OK, you can assume something in the backup was corrupt and causing the problem.
If you use iTunes only, always make sure that you backup the iPad one last time before you do the clean install from iTunes. Make sure that you transfer all purchases and apps into iTunes as well. Then restore as new and use the device for a while and see how it goes. Slowly add a few of your purchased apps at a time. See how it goes, add more apps, see how it goes. When you get to a point where you believe that things are good to go, try restoring the backup which will restore all of your app data and the device settings. If the problem comes back, it has to be something in one of the apps or a corrupt setting on the iPad. Restore as new again, and download or sync your purchases back from iTunes and start all over again. Do not restore the backup.
What this amounts to is, doing things by process of elimination. Like I said, it could take days to sort it all out. I am a glutton for punishment and I don't mind going through all of the tedious rigamarole involved.
    Raoul_Duke wrote:
How would one move the data from the "corrupted" back up?
Unfortunately, you may never know what item, data, file, photo, song, etc. is corrupt and you cannot move selective data back from the backup. It is all or nothing. If you feel that the backup is corrupt or if you go through all of the steps and know that the backup is corrupt, then you cannot use it at all and you have to start over again.
This is one of the reasons why I keep copies of my most important files on my Mac, and not just in the iPad backups. I can selectively add files back to the iPad if I need to start all over again.

  • IMac won't boot, hangs on white logo screen and wheel stops spinning

I have a 4 year old 24" iMac - 4GB RAM, Lion 10.7.3 - that froze up in the middle of opening a PDF file in preview.  I powered it off by holding in the button only to discover it will not restart.  It gets as far as the white screen with the Apple logo and the "spinning" circle of lines and the this stops spinning after about 15 seconds and it will not do anything else.
    I have tried:
    resetting the SMC
    resetting the PRAM
    Booting:
    with only keyboard plugged in
    in safe mode
from USB (Lion) Recovery thumb drive
    from MBP in target mode
    from Time Machine backup
from Leopard and Snow Leopard DVD's
In all cases with the boot the HDD is shown along with the other drive(s) connected and I can select these other drives but the result is always the same.  In safe mode it just hangs after going through everything.
As the iMac isn't under warranty I decided to swap the HDD out with a 1TB working one from my old (deceased) Time Capsule.  I know this drive still works.  Still the same problem though.  Whilst the imac was apart I checked the onboard CR2032 battery was OK and for any obvious board problems.  Nothing.
I haven't been able to find anything that relates to not being able to boot of an external drive from searching the web and I now conceed this is most likely a board level failure.  I haven't lost anything as I backup routinely.  My intention was to upgrade when the next model iMac comes along, just wish it ends up being very soon as my MBP is not great for editing photo's.
If I could get the iMac limping it would help whilst I wait for the next generation iMac, so if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

  • Black & White Apple Logo Lockup w/2.02

    Hello all,
Eagerly updated from 2.00 to 2.02 yesterday in anticipation of never seeing the ATV locked up again with that darn Black & White Apple logo.
Came back from dinner this evening, the TV was off but the ATV had been left on playing music. Turned on the TV and got a few seconds of the ATV screen and then WHAM! that blasted Black & White logo again with the unit locked up. No bloop sounds or nothing from it.
I know this was discussed quite a lot months ago when discussing 2.0. Did not they not include this major problem in the bug fixes for 2.02?

    wd5 wrote:
I do appreciate the nice response Winston.
but is it possible, perhaps, just maybe that it is not a problem with the specification or all these different devices that the ATV is attached to out there in the real world but an actual Apple problem?
Yes, it's entirely possible, in general though there are other devices which have problems with HDMI so it's not just an  issue.
Does this auto wake up feature actually work for anybody out there? I tried it with mine and the ATV stays asleep when I switch to that HDMI input on my TV.
Doesn't do it for me either, but quite a few have reported that this is so for them, I've also seen threads from some who's tv changes to the HDMI channel when the tv is activated. It could well be a symptom of an issue though if you take the view from your first point.

  • My bootup screen apple logo is black and background is white

I asked my friends most of them are normal which is apple logo is white and background is black.

It is OK. There are two kinds of restart that iOS 7 does. The white background/black logo is a quick form of restart. Some of the accessability features require a restart of the device and it appears that restart is a quick version compared to completely powering off and rebooting (Black background/white logo).

  • Logo import in final cut

    Good day everyone,
I have an assignement for a company and they have a white logo on a white background. How can I get it right to see this in final cut?
    Thanks for your help
    Ward

the logo is send to me on a white background and i can separate the two form each other
If you can separate it, save the logo layer as a separate image file in a format that support background transparency (PSD, TIF, PNG, etc) and then import that file into your FCP project.
If the log with background consists of just one layer, you can separate the logo from its background in Photoshop. Here too, you must use an image format that support background transparency.

  • Vectorizing a black and white graphic

    Hi,
I have a black and white logo with text included in it which I just scanned. All I want to do is convert the image to scalable vector format and be able to individually edit each font as well as the outline of the logo itself. What would be the best way to do this in Illustrator - the version which came with CS2?
    Thanks.

Since you sate the scanned artwork is a logo, I suggest redrawing / typesetting the logo instead of sing Live Trace. Unless it's by design, logos should non look rough and hand dawn, which is what Live Trace will look like.
If the logo is for a moderately well known company you could try to download a PDF from their website, which might have the logo in vector format already. Also try
    brandsoftheworld.com.
