Dreamweaver won't load

I just bought Adobe CC and Dreamweaver will not load. It pops up then instantly closes. I am on Mac OSX Yosemite version 10.10.1. I'm stuck using my Dreamweaver CS6 still for now. I have the latest versions of Java and have tried different things it just doesn't work.
Thanks for any help.

Newer versions of Java aren't going to help, you still need Java SE 6 in order for DW to function.
Do a search for "Java SE 6" in the forum, the results should get you a couple of "answered" threads with te links/instructions on how to get JSE6 back on your machine.

Now, you're in the right place!
Your Assets do not match your Project settings (the Preset chosen, when you do Project>New). The Preset should always match the Assets.
To find out all about your Assets, use G-Spot. It'll give you all the data. If, for instance, you want to output to DVD with SD material, and your Assets are not DVD-spec (720x480 for NTSC, with the PAR, i.e. Pixel Aspect Ration equal to the 4:3, or 16:9), you have two choices:
1.) Convert your Assets to DVD-spec, i.e. DV-AVI Type II files with PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit Audio
2.) Once Imported into PrPro, go to Effects Control Panel, with the Clip selected and choose Motion>Scale to blow up the Clip
Note: if your Assets are undersized, you will suffer degredation, when chosing either method. If you wish to Output to the exact size of the Assets, then use a Preset that matches. That's where G-Spot comes in. It'll tell you exactly what you have. Let us know what it tells you and what you want to end up with. Someone can step you through the best way to achieve that. Just remember: Assets = Project Preset, or you'll have to change the Assets.
Good luck,

• Reinstall and Dreamweaver won't load

Hi, I have been having trouble with my Draemweaver package
whereby it sometimes loaded up the first screen and then simply
shut down again. I have removed all the Marcomedia products from my
PC and re installed them from my original disc. The install was
fine but now when I click on the Dreamweaver icon, nothing loads?
Is there something I have forgotton to do?

I think this problem can be fixed with the update available

• Dreamweaver Won't Load - Please Help

When dreamweaver is loading it gets to "intializing extension
data" and then closes. I have tried repairing, uninstalling and
reinstalling, and even reimaging my machine with a fresh intall of
xp professional. When I reinstalled dreamweaver after that it
worked for about two days and then all the sudden this started
happening again.
Has anyone had this happen to them, or know what is going on?
Thank You

Find your configuration .dat file and delete it. Here is the
path to mine to
get you on the right road:
C:\Documents and Settings\Walt F.
Schaefer.DESKTOP\Application
Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration\
My file name is WinFileCache-8D991465.dat, Yours may be
different but it
will end in .dat.
After you delete it when you start DW it will create a new
,dat file. For
some reason this file is easily corrupted and often has to be
deleted when
DW refuses to load/start.

• Dreamweaver won't load but other programs did

I dowloaded the programs, and the only one not working is Dreamweaver. It says Entry point not found. I have installed 4x and unstalled it 3. I have also restarted my computer. I have Java. I read somewhere that Dreamweaver needs Java.

Which operating system? Which version of DW?
I assume Dreamweaver CC. You need OS X 10.7 or higher.

• Dreamweaver CS5 won't load

I have been using Dreamweaver CS5 and now recently it will not load. When I try to open dreamweaver all I get in the menu bar is "Dreamweaver" under that "Services, Hide Dreamweaver, Hide Other, Hide All, Quit". Can some one help. I reinstalled Dreamweaver to try and fix this to no prevail.

I find no adobe folder in preferences. But i do find::
com.adobe.dreamweaver-9.0.plist
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 Prefs
I tried trashing both, but it did not fix the problem. All it did was ask me to pick another browser.
Unless there's an easy fix I won't bother reinstalling. Regarding the comment from the Adobe salesman, I don't use DW enough to warrant buying a new version for $200. DW 3 works fine, it just won't load the help menu, which also works fine when I load it in Preview.
I know enough about computers to opine that there is probably a solution to this without having to reinstall. Like renaming the help file, or maybe someone telling me where to place it in the file hierarchy. Actually, I tried placing it in 4 other places. No luck.

• CS3/Dreamweaver 9 won't load

I've had the CS3 version of Dreamweaver on my computer for a while now, but all of a sudden the program won't load when I click the icon to start it. I'll get the hourglass for a second and then nothing, just a regular mouse pointer.
I used the disc to reinstall it and fix any errors, but the same thing happens.
Looking at the FAQ I've deleted a corrupted cache file and the only file that could be causing the 8KB bug is the 32KB HTML "Configuration Read Me" file.
So the question is -- what can I do to get Dreamweaver to work again? Do I delete the read me since it's the only file that could be causing the 8KB bug or do I do something else?
The system info: Windows XP-Service Pack 2, all the updates are current, firewall/virus scan is Kaspersky 8.0 (Dreamweaver and other Adobe products have full access/all permissions), 1GB RAM.
Thank you.

Hi Jessica,
Can you check the Help menu and sign in information?
If your Adobe id is shown there, then please try below steps once
1. Sign out from DW (Using Help menu > sign out)
2. Quit Dreamweaver
3. Wait for 1 minute and restart Dreamweaver
See if this helps. Also share Help > About Dreamweaver snapshot and error snapshot as well.
Thanks,

• Dreamweaver 8 Trial won't load

I'm hoping someone can help me. I am considering trying my
hand at web design, so I downloaded the trial version of DW8 this
morning to see if it might be good software to use. It has worked
alright all day, but now when I try to go into it, it won't load. I
click on the icon, select the trial version option, and I see the
DW8 load screen and the DW icon appear briefly in the toolbar, but
that's it. Nothing happens. Of course I've rebooted the computer
but that hasn't helped. Can anyone tell me what the problem might
be? Thanks.

• .swf won't load remotely...please help

Ok, so I have been working with the FlipBook dreamweaver extension and once I upload to my server
the .swf file won't load. However, everything works like a charm when tested locally. All corresponding
xml and js files are in place and the code looks fine. I've had this issue once before, and after much time spent on Google it
seemed there could be a problem with how the swf is being uploaded. I finally got it to work via uploading
through the web based control panel. Unfortunately, we switched hosts and can only upload via FTP now.
So I'm stuck again..any ideas how to remedy this situation? Thanks. -Bryan

MAke sure you have all the supporting files loaded to the srver. Also, the flashvars line(s) in your embedding code that appear to have some stray "&"s in them that probably needs to be a real "&"s

I've created a site that works perfectly in Firefox and

Looks fine here in IE6. You may want to compress your images

• Dreamweaver CS3 Problem Loading Pages

I've just upgraded from Dreamweaver MX to CS3 and CS3 cannot
load any page created in MX properly. The pages come up blank,
tables are empty, pages are thousands of characters wide, etc. If I
view the pages in Firefox, they look fine, I just can't use CS3 to
manipulate them at all. Is there some trick to making them
compatible?
Help!
Edit: Actually, I reinstalled MX and it won't load pages it
used to load either. This is on top of a clean Windows install.
Ideas would be greatly appreciated, I can't maintain my web pages
this way!

> if you view them through Firefox or IE, they look just

Browsers are incredibly forgiving. DW is not. That's how it
should be.
Let's see one of these pages, please.
> Is it possible there's something wrong with Dreamweaver?
It's extremely unlikely.
> This is an issue with both CS3 and MX so maybe it's an

I'm betting dollars to KrispyKreme donuts it's an operator
problem.

• Dreamweaver CS3 Not Loading Anymore

Hi!
For some reason today I opened up Dreamweaver CS3 and it
won't load fully. It is getting stuck at "Initializing Extension
Data" and it just hangs basically.
I saw an update but it seems to be for the Middle East and
North African versions only.
Anyone else having this annoying problem? If so, how do we
fix it?
Specs for my system
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 (Creative Suite)
Windows XP Home
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
2.2GHz
2GB RAM
I haven't really installed anything new the past few days, so
am not aware of a confict.
Thanks,

Open up the Extension Manager and remove all extensions.
Install them back one by one.

• Php page won't load but will in while testing

I have created a php page that connects to a db. While in
dreamweaver I can test the page and see the db content but can't
view the contents of the page if I got to the page via the website
www.mysite.com/testpage.php.
I have uploaded the connection files and the test file with
dependent files but the page won't load. Also I noticed that using
virtual for the php command doesn't work so I use include <?php
instead.
Since I can see the db contents via testing the page but
can't when viewing the page via www.mysite.com/testpage.php.
Can someone help shead some light on this??
UPDATE..
I removed the following from the PHP file and I was able to

Dreamweaver uses virtual() if you have set your site
definition to use
site root relative links. Unfortunately, virtual() is
supported only by
Apache, so the fact that it doesn't work indicates that your
remote site
is probably on a Windows server.
When changing from virtual() to include(), you also need to
change the
link to your connection from a site root relative link to a
document
relative one.
virtual('/Connections/mycon.php');
needs to become something like
include('../Connections/mycon.php');
