Drill down capability in PeopleSoft XML Publisher?

Hi,
I'm interested in implementing the following functionality in PeopleSoft XMLP: I have a table produced in an RTF document that looks like the following:
Term: <TERM>, Subject: <Subject>, Cat No: <CATALOG>, Section: <SECTION>, Course Title: <Course Title>
Question: <QUESTION_ID>
Student Response Detail
50524 5 Always
51042 5 Always
I'd like to give the ability to drill down on the student ID that will bring up a seperate section of the report that has the data grouped by that student ID instead of by question. I'd then like the QUESTION_ID in the 2nd section of the report to link back to the original section where the responses are grouped by STUDENT_ID.
Thanks in advance.
JK

Hi Mathieu
You can certainly build dynamic URLs in your templates. Managing to call other reports within the PS environment is another matter.
I have pinged the PS dev team to see if they can fill in the gap.
Might be worth posting a little more information on the reports and what you want to drill to, pass parameters, etc ?
Regards
Tim

  • BI Publisher vs PeopleSoft XML Publisher & Error with Templates

    Hello All,
I am completely new to this so please bear with me.
1.) What is the difference between Oracle BI Publisher and PeopleSoft XML Publisher?
2.) I am working with PeopleSoft XML publisher and I had to make a change ontop of a bundle.
I needed to change the rtf template so I uploaded it, however, when our report defn, template defn, and file defn got migrated to out tst environment something happened and I am getting the following error: Template file not found in DB. Because of this error I can no longer access the report definition via the application. It is also telling me that there is a problem with the LoadTempDefn process in the peoplecode. This is pointing to the scroll area where the templates are uploaded.
I need some help resolving this i.e details on what tables PeopleSoft uses in the DB to store templates? And how I can get rid of this error.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Drill down capability in Oracle Reports graphs - Is it possible

    Hello
I was looking for drill down capability in graphs. Example my query returns parent - child relationship. It could have upto 3-4 levels. Is it possible to drill down on a per level basis using oracle graphs?
    Message was edited by:

What I've seen, is people using a component to render the graph (Flex Charting or something else) and then put that rendered graph in the form data before it's being merged with the template.

  • PeopleSoft XML Publisher report error with java.io.FileNotFoundException

    Hi,
I have created two reports using XML Publisher in Peoplesoft Financials. The two reports are not related and they were submitted for processing separately. The first report completes without any issues. The second report results in error with the following message:

The weird thing is I was able to run this report without any issues few weeks ago although another user also ran into same error. The PeopleCode step that has been identified is essentially same in the two reports. I checked the app server and the directory does exist as well as the xml files for the two reports. The problem does not occur in test environment, just in production. Any help would be appreciated.

We encounter the same problem. Did you get the answer for this issue? Thanks in advance.

  • PeopleSoft XML Publisher Desktop installation issue

    Hi,
I've tried to install the XML publisher desktop desing helper.
I've installed it without error. But when i open the Office word program, it didn't show up the Template Builder menu on office tool bar.
I've tried to do the following:
    1. Set the trust center setting in word option, Marco is all enabled, and the VBA project is checked.
    2. Close the Microsfot program, IE, Word, etc.
    3. Close the MSN Messager program
    4. Uninstall the MSN Live
    5. Then I re-run the installation file of XMLp several times to re-install it.
After that, i still can not find any menu tool bar named "Templdate Builder" in word program.
During the installation, there's no error, the install process is smoothly ended, but in the word program there's no menu for Template Builder.
The version of Microsoft Word is 2007, and the version of XMLp Design helper for Word is 5.6.2, and the Java JRE version is 1.6.07.
    Please help on figuring this!
    Thanks,
    Saxon SI

    Hi:
Check for Add-Ins in Word Options. Make sure that TemplateBuilder.dot is active; and look for 'Add-Ins' menu on your document. XML Publisher menus will be visible on that tab.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sameer.

  • Delivered Drill-Down functionality in PeopleSoft 9.1 ..

What type of functionality comes delivered with eCompensation around generating detailed summary reports with "drill-down" capabilities?
What would have to be enabled? What kind of skill sets would be needed?
    Thx.

    Hi
Select all the three columns as drill down keys in the city. This should resolve.
No need to create separate hierarchy.
    Hope this helped/ answered.

  • Passing drill down filter to a BI Publisher report in 11G

Let's say we have a dashboard with a prompt and a regular Answers report. The user expects the prompt to filter report 1 and then make a selection from the report1 to navigate to report 2 which is now being filtered by both the prompt and the selection from report 1. I looked through the documentation on BI Pub 11G and it looks like if we now navigate from report 2 to a BI Pub report only the dashboard prompt (via presentation variables) will be passed to the BI Pub report. Is there a way to also pass the filters created within report 1 and report 2 to BI Pub?
    Thanks.

Hi. That helped. I get the right value now in the dropdownlist. When defining the dashboard prompt I wrote some custom SQL:
SELECT "A11_DIM_PERIOD"."DESCTEXT", "A11_DIM_PERIOD"."KEY" FROM "promptsource" WHERE "A11_DIM_PERIOD"."DESCTEXT" IS NOT NULL ORDER BY "A11_DIM_PERIOD"."KEY". Now the prompt shows the display values but as soon as I select on and hit apply the dropdownlist text changes to the Key values (whicih is fine for my parameters, because they need to be key values rather than text) but this is unfortunate for the front end user, they will wonder "hey, why did the drop down list value I selected just change". Right now, I dont know why. The prompts work fine just odd that their display data changes from rpd logical column description field to sort field.

If Chart is bound to DS_1 and On Select event of chart is as below:

  • Chart Drill Down Data

    Hi guys,
I am trying to create a drill down capability for a column
chart in my application. I am using the HTTPService to get the data
in from an external XML file, but I am having problem getting in
the external data needed when the user selects a column. In simple
    version,
1st level consisit of year(x axis) against amount(y axis)
2nd level,- when user clicks the column representing a year,
the column chart to be produced consist of Month(x-axis, i.e. Jan,
Feb, Mar, etc) against Month count(y-axis,) for the selected
    year

Nothing to do with excel file, just the logic with combo box.

  • How to setup the drill down on union report

    Hi,
    I'm setting the union report.
I want to set the drill down to another report.
    But I can't setup it.
Would you please tell me how to setup.
    Thank you.

    Hi Hemlatha
In Crystal Reports, to prevent the ability to drill down into a subreport when published on the Web, add a text object that is filled with blank spaces, created by pressing the 'Space Bar' and 'Enter' for line returns, to eclipse the subreport.
This workaround is applicable only to subreports that does not grow in size. For example, subreports that display only a chart or graph.
Steps to Add a Text Object over a Subreport
    1. In the Crystal Reports Designer of the main report, insert a text object over the subreport.
    2. Resize the text object to be the same size or a little larger than the subreport object on the main report.
    3. Fill the text object with blank spaces created by pressing the 'Space Bar' and 'Enter'. This is necessary because resizing a text object without
the blank spaces will not maintain its size when it has been published on the Web.
    ====================
    NOTE:
You can format the text object with a hyperlink to another report, another file or a URL.
    ====================
Now, when the Crystal report is previewed on the Web, the text object that fully eclipses the subreport will prevent the ability to drill down into it.

  • REPORT PAINTER DRILL DOWN REPORT

    Hi,
i need to develop report painter report with drill down for cost elments and month wise
out should be cost elements and all months
Please suggest how to use drill down
    Thanks and Regards

Along these same lines. I have a user that cannot drill down into a drill down report. Let me clarify. This  report does have drill down capability as some people can drill down into it but others cannot. If a user has authorization to run a report via GRR3. When they click on an item to drill down they do not get an authorization error statement, all they get is a statment that says "list contains no data". Any ideas why some can drill down and some can't? Thanks

  • Balance Sheet , P&L Report Drill Down Reports

    Hello Experts,
One of my client requires Balance Sheet, P&L Reports with drill down capability.
Ex: In standard B1, When you run a balance sheet you will see summary of accounts. Client needs to look into the details from summary report by drill down capability. Have anyone worked with same reports before? Please help.

    Hi Praneeth,
On the balance sheet, on the top right corner there is a field called - Level - on which you can select 1 to 5 levels. The level 5 gives the complete picture of each account. Same for other financial report like trial balance. Hope that solves your problem.
    Thanks,

  • [1.1.0.23.64] Drill down reports - right click actions

The release notes of SQL Developer version 1.1 includes a line concerning 'increased right click actions' for the reports category. One of the new actions is 'Go to <object>', if you select this action it will show you the properties of the object. For instance, when performing a right click and selecting 'Go to EMP' on the EMP row in
the result set of the 'All objects' report, SQL Developer shows you the properties of the EMP table. This feature is also known as drill down capability (for screen shots see http://jornica.blogspot.com/2006/12/changing-preferences-by-executing.html).
In the previous version 1.0, the 'Go to' object name was implemented by double-clicking a row in the result set. In version 1.1, if you double-click a row SQL Developer shows a button (this button appears in the cell you double-click). If you click this button SQL Developer shows the Edit Value window for Line terminator value. You can change this value by clicking the change button and SQL Developer shows the Preferences window.
Because the line terminator value is a global setting (this value is used for every report) I'm wondering why you can change the line terminator value in version 1.1 from every result set cell? You can also use the main menu Alt-Tools Preferences. I find the version 1.0 drill down capability much more intuitive and easier to use than the version 1.1 implementation.
    With kind regards,
    Jornica
