Drill down graph

Hi, Can some body please point me to any forum thread/ artical / document which shows the example/tips to create drill down graph.
Thanks

It depends on what kind of drill you have set up. I believe you have setup Navigation Drill wherein the target is a tabular report instead of a graphical report. Just change the compound layout of the report to contain a graphical chart and that should give you a chart drill.
Thanks,
Venkat

    I saw SAP standard program "GRAPHICS_IGS_CE_TEST". It works fine for graph display
    but it doesn't provide any drill down option, Although it has some evenhandling for event SAPEVENT.
    But it doesn't seem to work for left click,right click or double click.
    Can you please sugest?

  • Graph label in Drill down graph to display only the lowest level label

    Recently I have upgraded from OBIEE 10 to 11g.
    Some reports have a country -> region -> branch drilldown, for which hierarchy is created in business layer of RPD. The graph, drills down from Country -> Regions -> Branches and displays the measures accordingly. But the horizontal label displays the full hierarchy , like CountryName,RegionName and Branch Name. In 10g, I used to get the Branch name only in the axis label.
    I would like to display only the Region names when Country is drilled down and the branch name alone when the Region is drilled down.
    Kindly help.

    In 11g it is bug....
    For this u should create 3 individual reports (1 for country, 2. Region, 3. Branch) and give action link one to another.
    for filter make sure the required column "Is Prompted" for every detailed reports.
    Pls mark if it helps

  • Passing Parameters from JSP with Drill Down Graphs

    Hello,
    I have 2 JSP's where when user clicks on the bar graph it drill down and goes to next JSP, it is hyperlink. How can I pass parameters using HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter
    My JSP code is something like this which is pasted below.
    StandardCategoryURLGenerator("xy_chart.jsp","series","section")) is the function, I need to use for drill down.
    Kindly help me with this and any help is highly appreciable.
    Thanks
    ************ JSP**************
    CategoryAxis categoryAxis = new CategoryAxis("Site");
    ValueAxis valueAxis = new NumberAxis("Value");
    StackedBarRenderer3D rend = new StackedBarRenderer3D();
    StandardCategoryToolTipGenerator tt = new StandardCategoryToolTipGenerator();
    rend.setItemURLGenerator(new StandardCategoryURLGenerator("xy_chart.jsp","series","section"));

    Trenton,
    One way to pass parameters to other portlets on the page while using a form is to create a hidden form field and assign it the value that you need to pass to it. If the hidden field has an unqualified name (i.e. not created by using the portletParameter method) then it will be seen by all portlets on the page.
    Since all the form fields are passed on to the query string as part of the URL, you can then use request.getParameter(paramName) to take different actions in your portlets.
    You could use different techniques where based on the values you pass on to parameters of the portlets, some portlets make specific updates to themselves. Though the whole page would be refreshed, you could allow portlets to decide based on the incoming parameter value whether they need to change or not.
    So given the functionality you desire - here's something you might try.
    1) Create hidden form field that gets populated when you select values from the drop-down lookup.
    One way to do this would be to add a onChange ="populateMyHiddenParam(this.form)" to your form item that changes.
    And you could add a small JavaScript function that populates the parameter.
    e.g.
    function populateMyHiddenParam(thisForm){
    thisForm.myHiddenParam.value=thisForm.elements[4].value;
    2)In the other JSP portlet (on the same page) where you need to populate a table based on the value selected, just get the parameter value passed by using request.getParameter("myHiddenParam").
    Since you want this parameter to be read by other portlets, you need to create it as an unqualified parameter. So dont call the HTTPPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter while assigning the name to the form component for the hidden field.
    Hope this helps.

  • Drill-down graphs/charts

    I am new to Crystal Reports.  I am using CR 2008.  I have a vision for a spider-web (radar) chart where I can click on a portion of the web to drill down into the data that makes up that portion of the report.
    Is this possible?  If so, generally, how should I conceive of accomplishing this?

  • Drill down in Graphs

    Hi Friends,
    Is there anyway we can make graphs and charts in Web reports more interactive like drilldown in graphs.
    Suppose user can see sales revenue for different continents in pie-chart and table of web report and when he clicks particular continent on pie-chart, report should drilldown by countries for the selected continent and display the pie-chart and table accordingly.
    I am trying to use onclick event for pie-chart and trigger CMD commands for dataprovider with filters. But
    I am not sure how to enable onclick event for pie-chart and capture the value user has clicked on chart.
    Please help me with sample code and approach.
    Cheers
    SB

    hi, SB
    You can make it drill down.
    go to Trans RSBBS and maintain Jump target for that.
    - you developed one query and on that you have created Graph, now you create one more query which you want to drill down and make jump target send/receive assignment from RSBBS.
    - this will add one more menu in contex menu
    -so when ever you wrigh click on perticular place on graph then related menu will open(in Goto Menu) and system will further drill down.
    i am sure this will help you.
    do not forget for point assignment.
    thanks

    Hi Shivkumar,
    If you right-clic on the time scale you can set the time/date format, I assume this is the way you should follow to add the "day of month in the time stamp.

  • Beans graph drill down problem.

    Hi,
    I am currently using 10.1.2 version of BI Beans and developed a front end application for my OLAP cubes. The nice feature of 10g BIB is that we are now able to drill a graph, which was not possible in earlier 9i versions.
    The problem I am facing is while drilling down the graph on a time dimension. My time dimension has Day/Month/Qtr/yr levels for calendar hierarchy and day/wk/month/qtr/yr for fiscal hierarchy. However, we did not want to show the day values so I applied permit read command to restrict the day level. Now it displays only upto week in fiscal hier and month in calendar hier. When I am in a cross-tab, it shows the drill icon on the month/week data, but if I click once, the icon goes away and shows that level as the last level of hierarchy and everything is fine.
    But if I drill through the graph, clicking on the week/month level makes the graph go away and give the message "data has insufficient number of rows/columns. This graph type requires at least 1 line"
    Is there any suggestions to overcome this? Why can't the graph behave in the same manner like crosstab when drill down?
    Thanks for your help.
    Suresh.

    Suresh, instead of mucking around with blocking access to dimension values with the PERMIT programs, it might be easier to create "summary" hierarchies that simply don't include the day level. Then you tell the graph / crosstab / etc. to use these "summary" hierarchies and you never have to worry about drilling to undesireable levels.
    Let me know if this would work for you!
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Drill down capability in Oracle Reports graphs - Is it possible

    Hello
    I was looking for drill down capability in graphs. Example my query returns parent - child relationship. It could have upto 3-4 levels. Is it possible to drill down on a per level basis using oracle graphs?

    What I've seen, is people using a component to render the graph (Flex Charting or something else) and then put that rendered graph in the form data before it's being merged with the template.

  • Drill down from a line graph? Make the entire graph click-able?

    Guys, i can drill down from other types of charts except a line chart.
    Is there anything that is special about the line chart?
    Also, can i make the entire graph click-able? So, instead of clicking on a bar to trigger a linked report, can the whole chart be a link basically?
    Thanks for your help

    There is not special with the line graph..... Just click on the data symbol to drill or navigate. These settings can be found under the "additional Charting Option" button.

  • Drill down on Charts(Graphs)

    Hi,
    I have three level hierarchies Country, State and customer for drill down
    Country should be shown in bar chart.
    When report is opend first time, this bar chart will be displayed.
    Now only one chart is showing for coutry.
    I will start drill down.
    If I click on the bar(coutry bar chart) , below of the bar chart, map chart should be displayed for state.
    If I click on map chart(state map chart) , below of the map chart, line chart should be displayed for customer.
    Now there are three charts bar, map and line after drill down.
    How to achieve these please let me know.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Manjunath

    Alering the Chart is not possible in webi or Deski. You can alter hte header or title but not the chart. You can do this in Dashboard or in Xcelsius.

  • Issue to drill down from a report

    Hi,
    Our requirement is we need to show three different graphs in a single report representing different data, from that we need to drill down to a new different report  ;
    Two approaches we tried with crystal report are;
    1.     We put three graphs and the table in the single report and tried to implement drill down for each graph. We could group data on the basis of first pie chart data and could drill down. But while we tried to group data for second bar chart grouping is happening only as a sub group of first group. Ie, we cannot group data independently for different charts.
    2.     In the second approach we created different  3 sub reports and added in to a main report. But Crystal report is not supporting sub report to a sub report. Ie, we cannot go to drill down report.
    It would be a great help, if you could suggest some solution.
    Thanks,
    Jomy

    Hi,
    As per my understanding, you have one report say Parent1 (SA1) and one Report say Child1 (SA2), now you want to pass some values from parent1 to child1.
    1> Create 1 interim report from parent1.
    2> In your Child report in filter part use result based on another analysis.
    Please let me know if it resolves yourissues.
    Thanks

  • Drill Down for Multiple Series in a Line Chart

    Hello,
    I seem to have a problem with the drill-down functionality in a line chart that has multiple series.
    I have a line chart that displays the readings of a patient over a period of 1 month. For each day, there is the glucose level reading, blood pressure reading, etc... So, each reading is a different series in my line chart graph.
    The basic requirement is: With a mouse over event on the chart, I am willing to display all the data that belongs to that day. The data will be displayed at the bottom of the screen in a small panel. It is very simple to do it when the line chart has only 1 series:
    i) Enable drill down.
    ii) Choose 'Row' as insertion type.
    iii) Fill out the destination field.
    iv) Make sure your labels (at the bottom of the screen) get the data from the destination cell.
    When there is more than one series, it becomes very difficult. XCelsius will not let me use the same destination cells for different series. So, I will have to use other destination cells. In that case, I will not know on which day is the user on. Is there any way to achieve this functionality?
    Let me know if you need further information.

    This is certainly possible, but there's a bit of a trick to it (and really hard to explain without screenshots!). There's two halves to it:
    1. Write the date that has been selected to a cell (for each series).
    2. Write the name of the series that was clicked to some cell (this is the property 'Series Name Destination').
    So let's say your three series are Glucose, Blood Pressure and Temp. Have those series names in B1,C1,D1 (with your dates down in column A). Insert a row below the series names (2:2), and then set up your insertion type for the chart as 'row'. The source data (for all three series) should be your list of dates in column a. The insertion cells for the three series will be, in order, B2,C2,D2. Now, depending on which point is clicked in the chart, the selected day will be inserted into one of those three cells. Completely useless unless you know which series was clicked.
    So you need to insert the name of the series that was clicked ('Series Name Destination') into the spreadsheet, let's say in F1. The rest is just Excel formulas. The logic is, you can now tell what series was clicked, and go and look up the date that was inserted for that series, then go and look up the row that corresponds to that date. So to get the date that was just clicked, your formula (in F2) would be =HLOOKUP(F1,B1:D2,2,0).
    Then a VLOOKUP will get the results from that row of data. For example, if I inserted another row at row 3 (to show my 'result' values) the formula in B3 would be =VLOOKUP($F$2,$A$4:$D$13,2,0).
    I hope that makes sense.

  • How to setup the drill down on union report

    Hi,
    I'm setting the union report.
    I want to set the drill down to another report.
    But I can't setup it.
    Would you please tell me how to setup.
    Thank you.

    Hi Hemlatha
    In Crystal Reports, to prevent the ability to drill down into a subreport when published on the Web, add a text object that is filled with blank spaces, created by pressing the 'Space Bar' and 'Enter' for line returns, to eclipse the subreport.
    This workaround is applicable only to subreports that does not grow in size. For example, subreports that display only a chart or graph.
    Steps to Add a Text Object over a Subreport
    1. In the Crystal Reports Designer of the main report, insert a text object over the subreport.
    2. Resize the text object to be the same size or a little larger than the subreport object on the main report.
    3. Fill the text object with blank spaces created by pressing the 'Space Bar' and 'Enter'. This is necessary because resizing a text object without
    the blank spaces will not maintain its size when it has been published on the Web.
    ====================
    NOTE:
    You can format the text object with a hyperlink to another report, another file or a URL.
    ====================
    Now, when the Crystal report is previewed on the Web, the text object that fully eclipses the subreport will prevent the ability to drill down into it.
    Regards
    Girish
