Drill Down Help
Greetings APEX Users and Experts,
I want to create a drill down on my report, but I don't want to create two tables and use a join to do it. I would like it to be from a single table. Is that possible? If so, how?
Thanks!
David
Edited by: Bob Sacamano on Dec 22, 2011 10:49 PM
Sure, no problem. I have a large table of orders. The order numbers are repeated over several rows because the orders have unique part numbers on them. I want to create a report that shows only a single order number, but the end user can drill into the order number to reveal the details (multiple rows) of that order with all of the parts. From what I've been able to read on drill down reports, they say to use two tables (one for orders and another for parts, for instance) and create a join between the two. I was hoping there was another way without creating two tables. Thanks.

S_ALR_87012169 R3 FCC 6.0 drill down help (AR account balance)
Can anyone teach me how to display 87012169 Classic Drill Down Report? I need check the history data from Oct. 2010 to Feb. 2012 AR transactions. The Help > Application Help showed "No documentation available", I believe we did not install the help data.
I tried to use ALR_87012173 for Customer Open Items (the partical payment did not deduct from original invoice) or 87012177 (did not setup the layout yet).
Thanks,Hi PPIO: I used FBL5N but all partial payment did not deduct from original invoice if you short of 0.01 cent, that is why I am trying other reports from SAP. How you retrieve data and create your customized reports in R3? We will implement BW in April 2012 but do we need any report tool to create our own reports?
Our internal SAP administrator told me the FBL5N can NOT display correct balance due that is can not do task. I can not believe it, Can you teach me why we got incorrect balance due and what caused the problem? Tks. -

Omniportlet Chart Drill Down Help
I have a bar chart and am able to drill down to the correct dataset when clicking on a bar and passing the value in the URL. However, if I click two different bars to compare the two data sets and page through the data I run into problems. For example, I click bar 1 and it launches a new window with the expected data. I then leave that window open and click bar 2 and it launches another window with the expected data. If I page through the data from bar1, the dataset on bar 1's page changes to bar 2's data.
This is what my page definition looks like for the launched drill down page.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<pageDefinition xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/uimodel"

</executables>

Action="95">
<NamedData NDName="Hold_Status" NDType="java.lang.String"
NDValue="#{param.Hold_Status}"/>
</action>
</bindings>
</pageDefinition>
I realize that the ExecuteWithParam is executing with the #{param.Hold_Status} that is populated from the URL. I figured that is why I see bar 2's data when I page through (because param.Hold_Status now equal bar 2's value). My question is, how else can I implement this to avoid running into this situation?
By the way, I am using JDev 10.1.3.3.
Thanks,
Jessica

Need help with Group Headings and showing them on drill down.
Hi all:
I think this is a simple question and feel that I should already know the answer but for some reason it eludes me. What I would like to know is the proper way to hide/display group headings and have them show up on drill down BUT not repeat on each group header.
What I have for grouping is as follows:
Group Header #1 u2013 Sales Rep
Group Header #2 u2013 Customer
Group Header #3 u2013 Product Class
Group Header #4 u2013 Stock Code
Details
Group Footer #4 u2013 summary calculated on this line
Group Footer #3 u2013 summary calculated on this line
Group Footer #2 u2013 summary calculated on this line
Group Footer #1 u2013 summary calculated on this line
My goal is to have my report show only the lines listed below by default and allow the user to drill down group by group to the details section:
Group Header #1 u2013 Sales Rep
Group Footer #2 u2013 summary calculated on this line
Group Footer #1 u2013 summary calculated on this line
If anyone could offer any help it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
FatManclick section expert, then for example of GH3, highlight it, then click on the formula box for suppression, and put in the code....
Drilldowngrouplevel < 3
The result will be that this GH3 is suppressed whenever the report is showing GH1 and 2 but not 3.
In addition to this, you must Hide(Drill-down ok) GH3. This is also done in the section expert.
Then just do the same for GF3, and for GH4/GF4 make sure you use...
Drilldowngrouplevel < 4 -
I am trying to figure out what I have wrong... The below formula allows me to drill down (little yellow arrow beside my doc type column) and see journal entries, and incoming payments, but I get errors for Credit Memos and Invoices.
Both the Doc Type and Doc # are string fields so it should be working......
So can anyone give me some help as to why it works for two of the four ?
THANKS
Select {Command.Doc Type}
Case "AR Invoice":'http://$b1$/link?table=OINV&key='+ {Command.Doc #}
Case "AR Credit Memo":'http://$b1$/link?table=ORIN&key='+{Command.Doc #}
Case "Incoming Payment":'http://$b1$/link?table=ORCT&key='+{Command.Doc #}
Default: 'http://$b1$/link?table=OJDT&key='+{Command.Doc #}Hi Dayton
The drilldown needs the docentry rather than docnum so you may need to add this field to your command as an extra field if it is not already there. It does not need to be printed.
Once you gave the docentry set up the formula as
'http://$b1$/link?table=OINV&key=' & totext({Command.DocEntry},0,u201Du201D,u201Du201D)
so that any decimals, separators etc are removed.
Hope this helps

Drill Down Charts - Please Help
I am on version 4.0.1.00.03 and I have a flash chart stacked 3d colum that is displaying a yearly count by category of issues. The page also includes an item as a select list that allows you to choose the year you'd like to see. This works great. I can change the year and the chart changes correctly. Now when I go to drill down on a specific category to show the monthly count for the given category selected. I can't get the chart to show up as the year isn't coming in the url as expected. The category id does appear. I've tried everything I can think of but can not seem to get this. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! :)
f?p=111:57:3034438413069645::NO:RP:P57_YEAR,P57_CATEGORY_ID:%26P57_YEAR,141Hi "790176" (please update your profile with a name, thanks),
Based upon the LINK you have provided, it would appear that you are referencing the select list item as &P57_YEAR. If you reference your item as :P57_YEAR instead, and concatenate its value to the URL, then your drill-down link should work. Your LINK column in the first chart query should look something similar to the following:
SELECT 'f?p=111:57:&SESSION.::NO:RP:P57_YEAR,P57_CATEGORY_ID:'||:P57_YEAR||',14' LINK, ....You may find it useful to refer to one of my map samples - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:33 - where clicking on a map section will drill down to a report. It's the same concept as linking down to another chart, you just need to have a correctly formatted URL. I hope this helps.

Help required on drill down ...
I have a report generated on a multiprovider. I run the query to generate the web report on that multiprovider. My problem is If i want to drill down to document level, the data are not tallying before and after drill down.
What are the possible remedies for this ? Hope for an quick reply,
thanking you in advance
D BretDave,
You could try the Analysis Process Designer for the same, that might give you a better picture of your joins.
Also the reason your data might not tally could be because of incorrect joins.

ASO Drill down problem needing desperate help
In Excel addin and Financial Report, I have problems with drilling down. We're using Essbase ASO 9.3.1.
The scenario is as follows:
Parent Figures
z
z1 100
z2 200
z3 300
1. When I retrieve in Excel or FR for z, I get 600 which is corrent.
2. When I retrieve in Excel or FR for z1 or z2 or z3 or all together, I get correct figures.
3. When I retrieve in Excel or FR both parent and child, z = 600, z1 = 100, z2 = 200, z3 = 300, I still get correct figures.
Problem:
When I drill down from Excel or FR from a, which had correct figures, z1 = 100, z2 = 200, z3 = 300, will be correct but z will be missing (z = missing).
Is there anyway so that I can drill down from z and still having all figures correct like I get in point 3.?
Similarly I found a post as follows, which has similar problems:
ASO retrieves inconsistent between Excell and Finanical report in 9.3.1
The difference is that my Excel does not display parent as well when drilled down.
Edited by: sycshk on Dec 22, 2008 2:14 AMHi Anjana,
Check your DSO setting was checked for SID generation upon activation or not. If it unchecked then your report will run very long time because of no indexes.
Try your report with the fields you are drill down indefault view and see how much time report is running. So you will know whether it is dril down problem or huge data problem. Try to keep as many as filters as per user.
Thanks. -
Hi....
Can anyone explain to me, how works the chart drill down sintax, I not understand for example:
SELECT 'f?p=&APP_ID.:156:&SESSION.:GET_DETAIL_REPORT:NO::P156_DEPTNO:' <=====what is it?? is an item?? and what is inside of this?
|| deptno LINK,
deptno, COUNT (empno)
FROM emp
GROUP BY 'f?p=&APP_ID.:156:&SESSION.:GET_DETAIL_REPORT:NO::P156_DEPTNO:'
|| deptno,
deptno
And you know the GET_DETAIL_REPORT???
THANK YOU SO MUCH
ClaudiaClaudia,
In your number 4, P156_DEPTNO, you say is an item...
but is an item hidden??? And if so then is a sql
query??That's an item defined on the detail report that your link will jump to. You have to define that detail report first, including creating an item on that page that you'll use to pass the parameter. You also have to edit your detail report's query to use that item.
Check out the example code for a Master-Detail report in the 2-Day Developer Tutorial, including moving your mouse over the link from the master edit button to see the syntax. The chart is doing the same thing.
Good luck,
Stew

Reporting Services Error after Interactive sorting and drill down in pps
Hi
i have a report that has a drill down option that shows all workgroups within a specific parent group and an interactive sorting ass well on both columns parent group & workgroup
This is displayed in pps combined with a SharePoint
---the problem is that after sorting the parent group column by name i then press the drill through icon (+) next to it hopping to see all workgroups related to each parent group
- but instead
i receive this Reporting Services Error :
The value for parameter 'SortItem' is not specified. It is either missing from the function call, or it is set to null. (rsMissingParameter) Get
Online Help
If I don't press the sorting and just drill through it works fine. the sorting itself also works fine.
any suggestions ?
Hi Hyaron,
I am unable to reproduce the issue in my test environment. How did you add the drilldown feature? Were you doing that by setting visibility of the column or of the group? Please ensure to add the drilldown functionality by set the visibility of the workgroup
from the Grouping Pane in the Report Designer.
How did you add the Interactive Sorting on the headers of the two columns? Based on the drilldown functionality, the Interactive Sorting on the second column doesn’t work. So, you can move the Interactive Sorting on the second column. When configuring the
Interactive sorting on the first column, you should set the parent group to sort, and sort by the field that the parent group groups by.
Hope this helps.

Mike Yin
