Drill down issue in report painter report

Hi-
We have an issue where the drill down in one of our report painter reports isn't working. When the user tries to drill down, it says the list contains no data.
However, if the target report (of the drill down) is run first, and then the report painter report is run, the drill down will then work properly.
We need to know where to check to get this fixed. It has us stumped. The report painter report is associated with a report group.

Dear All,
We are on ECC 6.0. We are using some Report Painter Reports and we are facing the following 2 issues:
1. Authorization
For some of the Profitability Reports, we are facing authorization issues. e.g. If I do not need a user to view the profitiability of a particular Business Area to which he does not belong to then I should be able to restrict the same via authorization. However, I do not know where to maintain such authorization objects in Report Painter Reports
2. Financial Statement Version
We have created a Cash Flow Statement by using the Report Painter. We have created a Form whereby we have assigned GL Accounts to some characteristics and Financial Statement Version Item to others. However, when we execute the report, we can see figures for only those items where we assigned the GL Accounts and not for those items where we assigned FSV Items.

Issue with Report painter report

Hi Gurus
I need your help with an issue with one of our report painter reports. I have created a new report with Fiscal Year, Ledger, Company code, and Account number range in General data selection. The report row has field Segment and each period corresponds to one period of the fscal year. In here, I have selected Period and Record type 0 as characteristics. The basic key figure is KSL for second currency.
I am able to save the report but when I execute it, I get the error that
*Characteristic GJAHR cannot be combined with key figures*
Can someone please help me as why I am getting this error?

I think you have to rechek the genral data selection setting , related to fiscal year.
had u defaulted the fiscal year or used variant for fiscal year

Issue in GR55 report painter report not able to pass Exclusive values (E)

Hi all,
According to client requirement we have added selection values in P&L Report Painter report.
We have an issue we can only select data/range of data that we want to include(sign = I -inclusive) in the report. I cannot exclude values(sign = E - Exclusive).The error message get is as follows.
Message no GR107
Diagnosis:
You can enter intervals or single values fo certain fields.The system only supports inclusive intervals(Opertaors BT I) or inclusive single values(operators EQ I).
We found that its standard behaviour..Is there any SAP note to come over this or any other solution....

Dynamic Drill Down Column wise in Webi Report

Hi All,
I need to have dynamic drill down functionality in my webi report.
For example
I have Columns;
Fiscal Year, Fiscal Quarter, Plant, No. of PO line (4 columns).
Drill down on Plant level.
When i click on plant a new column should be added in webi report.
Now my report should look like this;
Fiscal Year, Fiscal Quarter, Plant, Buyer, No. of PO line (5 columns)...(New column Buyer is added)
How to do this.

Hi,
What you want is possible as long as the table formatting you have helps.
What you can do is add a column to the table. Then use the following formulas
Formula in Column Name Cell:
=If(Drillfilters([Plant])="") Then "" Else Nameof([Buyer])
Formula in Column Values Cell:
=If(Drillfilters([Plant])="") Then "" Else ([Buyer])
Now, what I meant by "as long as your table formatting you have helps" is that, you need to change the border colors of the extra column to match with the report blank area, means the borders should be white in colour and the column width should be autofit and they wont be visible as they are white, once you drill on plants, the values come up.
So if your table has no border, that will be perfect.

Is it possible to drill-down on the exported crystal reports in PDF/HTML format?

PDF format does not support drill-down.
PDF format supports bookmarking to specific locations in the document, but not something refined as drilling.

My client facing the problem with Report painter reports , almost all the reports taking much amount of time to execute . we are Using 5.0 version tables FAGLFLEXT and CSSS . i have some doubts report index is the cause for this or any other reasons can any one help me in this regard,

Hi,
just create a proper index and performance will increase. There are some SAP OSS notes who deal with this (for example field "client" should be added if'm not mistaken).
We did the same on profit center tables with huge performance increases

Urgent issue: Report painter report.

Hi,
I need to change the varsion 0 to 3 to forecatsing column of the report painter report. Which I have done and migrated to test, but when I test it, it shows that actual column is also picking the values from version 3 though it shows version 0 in the column. I surprised to see this.
Could you please provide me any valuable suggestion to fix this at the earliest.

Hi when you create a report:
use for actual costs:
Value type 4 and plan version 0
for plan:
Value type 1 and in you case plan version 3 (better to create a varibale, then you can select the version)

Line Items missing in report painter report..

Hi guri's,
Iam uisng customized P&L report painter report using with library 1VK....in this report some line items are not shwoing..... how to solve it...

After you've create a P&L report using the report painter, you would also have to create line item reports for example 'Receiver- Profit Center Line Items' and then assign these line items reports under 'Report/Report Interface' in the P&L report.
How to do this:
1. After creating the line item report(s), use transaction code GR52 which is for change report group. Enter the P&L report group and click enter.
2. Under 'Report/Report Interface', click on 'configure' under assigned report to library.
3. In the pop-up screen, click on the green plus sign "Insert Row"
4. Another screen will pop-up. Enter the report group for the line items report and enter.
5. Save
6. Regenerate your report group. After regeneration, execute.
7. Drill-down in the displayed P&L report to the line items.
Don't hestitate to ask for further clarifications.

Copy a COPA Report painter Report KE30 to a Z-Report in SE38

Dear all,
We have to copy a existing KE30 - Report Painter Report which is for COPA to a Z- Report in SE38 to have some conditions which was not possible through the report painter.
When copied we are not able to get the output in the screen as a drill down report but we are getting in spool request.

Hi Robin,
the request is not unusual. However, report painter does not allow for two key columns or a key column combining two characteristics. You might consider using SAP Query (with table COEP or COSS/COSP for aggregates) if you do not want to resort to developing the report in ABAP.

Hi,
Report Writer enables you to report on data from multiple applications. Using functions such as sets, variables, formulas, cells and key figures, you can create complex reports that meet specific reporting requirements.
The Report Painter is similar to the Report Writer, but is simpler to use.The main components of report painter are characterestics and basic key figure.
The majority of reports end users use in the R/3 System is Report Painter reports. Most of these reports (@ 80+ %) began as Report Writer reports.
The major difference is Report Painter uses a graphical interface (analogous to Notepad and MS Word).
Very few R/3 users employ Report Writer however, many still use, modify and develop reports using Report Painter. Report Painter permits complex groupings and drill-down reporting very useful for such applications as FI-CO and SD. It can also be used interactively allowing users to enter variables for specific steps; thereby permitting drill-across' functionality.
However, Report Painter does have its limitations; it can display only numeric data (excluding column headers) therefore, short text, etc. is not available. It is much easier (quicker) to modify than ABAP and requires no ABAP expertise however, many combine Report Painter with ABAP reports to fill-in many of the missing pieces. Layout design is archaic and rudimentary ~ therefore; many use Report Painter to retrieve and massage the data' and eventually export it into Excel for end use.

T.Code for Report painter report

Hi,
Is there a way to assign a T.Code to the Report painter report, so that users do not have to go to GR53.

You seem to know a lot about Report Painter, I hope you would be able to certainly help me understand this :
My predecessor here, created a report painter report and then asked the ABAP team to copy the report painter program (its like a query name) to a Z Prpgram and assign a transaction code. As I hear this was done to avoid the authorization issues.. (???) when this was moved to Testing Dev client, all this worked But when we moved this to QA, the error "program doesnot exist" made us to change the zprogram to remove the logic that the program had to check for the Client, in which the report was created. We removed that but then it then includes started giving the same error. so this will surely not work.
So, my question is : when this simple way of giving a report painter report a t.code with the defaults, would there be any auth issues that you can think of ???

Zero balance display in report painter reports

Hi all,
I have an issue with some report painter reports where the "print zero balances" flag is switched on in both the report and the section layouts, however the accounts are still not appearing on the report.
The accounts do not have any postings in the current year and the Bal carried fwd was zero in all profit centres but my client would still like to see a zero value on the report. Any suggestions?

Also, when I display the balance of the accounts that appear on the report in FAGLB03, I get a screen showing a zero balance in all periods.
When I display the balance of the accounts which do not appear on the report in FAGLB03, i get the message that "no data exists for fiscal year 2009".
I have tried re-running the balance carry fwd transaction but this has had no affect.

Contents of Formula (Sumaary) of Report painter report

We have a report painter report for Balance sheet. The Cost of goods section is summarized with several GL accounts belows. The COGS section is detailed as formula . A certain GL account that is listed as part of COGS doesnot seem to getting added to the COGS(which is using formula).
How do I know what is in the formula?

Under formula, you will see something like Y037 + Y036 + Y040. Look for the numbers under formula line in the formula components and then write down the descriptions for these lines.
Now, locate these descriptions in the report by double clicking on the rows to get the sets.
Those descriptions are likely to be sets. Enter these descriptions one by one in transaction code: GS03 to determine the G/L account numbers under the various descriptions.

In report painter report, line item level drilldown report requirment

Dear All,
I created one report in GRR1, when I execute the report i am not getting line item wise drilldown option. For example one cost center no of line itemwise posting ( g/ls wise)posting is there. By double clicking on that specific line item we will go that ledger and see the data available in that ledger.In standard reports that option available but my own reports I unable to go drilldown at ledger level cost reports.
Please sugget anyone, where I am doing mistake in report creation level.
