Drill down path

how to display the drill down path on somewhere near the chart
for example,
there are 3 levels in a dimension: category, brand, product
then "software - microsoft - windows xp home edition" is shown on somewhere.
thank you very much!

"software - microsoft - windows xp home edition" is the sample of the drill down
"windows xp home edition" is one of the products in brand "microsoft"
"microsoft" is one of the brands in category "software"
that means the user first clicks one of the bars which is "software" on the bar chart.
then the path will be "software"
then the user clicks one of the bars which is "microsoft" on the bar chart.
then the path will be "software - microsoft"
and so on...

  • Navigate to a different report from the Drill down path

    Hi,
    I have a question regarding the navigation.
    I have a summarized report showing the fields City, Year and Count.
    Now the user has the privilege to drill down on the Day dimension. He can drill down from Year to Quarter to Month to Day.
    Is there a way for me to provide a navigation path at the Day level. Lets say when the user clicks on the Date then he has to be navigated to a different report showing the detailed report.
    Since my summarized report does not have the fields Date I cannot provide the navigation path. The Date field is displayed only in the drill down path and I am not sure how to proivde the path.
    Can anyone throw their inputs into this?
    Thanks

    hi,
    i don't think there exists any out-of-the box solution through front-end.
    If you know what fields appear on the detail report, provide a PRE-DEFINED drill path in the rpd to all the columns from the date column.

  • Can Drill-down paths being made dependent on the user roles and groups

    Hello Experts
    Is it possible to restrict user after certain level of drill down. Here I mean after drilling upto country level from Total World , can we restrict the user to further drill down upto state level.
    OR we can say that we need to restrict certain user to look into transaction level details
    thansk and appreciate any hlep on this.

    i Guess u can...by setting object level security? suppose if you dnt want to drill to state... you can restrict the state column inpresentation laye... so when the user uses the the report he cannot see state and also in drill down....hope this is helpful/answered...

  • Drill Down Functionality in Report.

    Hello Gurus,
    I have one requirement where end user want to use drill down functionality for OBIEE reports. we are using 10.1.3.4.1 version rite now.
    Now what user wants is he want to drill down from Country -->State --> County -->City --> Zip code, Street Address, House #.
    Now in Obiee we can build the dimension hierarchy in BMM to achive the goal, But if you see the last level of hierarchy they want to see 3 Columns (Zip code, Street Address, House #) when they drill down from City...
    Now in Obiee We can use prefered drill down path only for one column, how do i develop the functionality they shows 3 Columns in last drill down???

    Hi
    Select all the three columns as drill down keys in the city. This should resolve.
    No need to create separate hierarchy.
    Hope this helped/ answered.

  • Two different drill down based on values in rtf

    Hi All,
    For a column in rtf, can we have multiple drill down path based on the values of the column. For example, if the value is > 10,000 navigate( hyperlink) to Report A otherwise navigate(hyperlink) to Report B.
    In obiee answer in action link we can put condition, but in BI Publisher using rtf is there a way to perform multiple drill down for same column.
    Thanks,
    Sushil

    Thanks for your kind reply.
    where to create conditional hyperlink in rtf. When we insert hyperlink we just place the url. I have a sample column1 with three values A , B and C. If the value is A then display www.google.com and if value is B then display www.yahoo.com and if value is C then display nothing. Where we place the condition while inserting the hyperlink in rtf.
    Thanks,

  • In OBIEE charts, how do you make drill downs work on custom formulas?

    I posted this over on Linked In and didn't get an anser, so I'm hoping someone here has an answer.
    I'm writing a summary query / chart for a dashboard in OBIEE 10.1 with a drill down (technically it's a "navigation") for more information. This chart breaks down the data by fiscal quarter and by geography (both are columns in the subject area) and I can get this drill down to work just fine. But I also have this chart broken down by some custom calculated fields (CASE WHEN statements) that classify revenue into Forecast / At Risk / Upside etc. (which are not columns or values of columns within the subject area).
    When I add a drill down or navigate function onto those calculated columns, I'm getting a full data set ... not a filtered data set for that particular calculated field. (Yes, I have all of the IS PROMPTED filters set up correctly, and yes the formulas in the source and destination queries are identical).
    Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the drill down or navigation work on custom formulas?
    Thanks
    Ted

  • OBIEE 11.1.1.6 Paretto Chart drill down

    A Pareto chart when created using OBIEE 11.1.1.6 drills down to the incorrect hierarchial map. This was a bug with OBIEE 10g:
    BUG:8769813 - DRILL DOWN IN PARETO GOES TO WRONG CHILD
    NOTE:517727.1 - pareto charts
    It was originally an issue with the use of Corda charts. This was supposed to be fixed with the move to OBIEE 11g but it does not seem to be so in our case, since we encounter the same error.
    Original OBIEE 10g error: https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/ui/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?_afrLoop=738674755173621&id=1200914.1&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=k53hrt132_215
    I will look around on the forum, but any insight would help

    I will try and explain the sequence of occurances on an Oracle "Sample Sales Lite" analysis, in case it needs to be recreated.
    It is a very simple analysis using the “Sample Sales lite” subject area provided by Oracle. The criteria is just company from within offices as the dimension and revenue from within base fact as the fact.
    The typical hierarchial drill path for the “Company” dimension within offices as per the RPD definition is Company > Organization > Department > Office.
    When viewed as a table this drill path works perfectly fine. When we represent the same as a Paretto chart, on clicking on “Stockplus Inc”, the output drills down to a breakdown of "Genmind Corp" instead. This is the same when viewed as an analysis and on a dashboard.
    I have seen similar occurances with bubble charts as well. Do let me know.

  • Drill Down Report using Crystal reports in eclipse and jspviewer

    Hi
    I want to understand how to write a drill down report since I have a requirement for my project, so I tried to run the sample drill down.rpt that is available with Crystal Reports 2008 Complete Reference book by George Peck.
    I can see the results correctly( i.e. can drill down) in the preview tab . Since I am working inside the eclipse, the way I run the reports is first  "Create report viewer JSP" by right clicking the report and have a url mapping to this jsp. I am running the reports from a hyperlink that maps to the url which will launch the jsp.
    the jsp is:-
    <%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1" %><%@ taglib uri="/crystal-tags-reportviewer.tld" prefix="crviewer" %><crviewer:viewer reportSourceType="reportingComponent" viewerName="Drill Down-viewer" reportSourceVar="Drill Down" isOwnPage="true" allowDrillDown="true">
         <crviewer:report reportName="reports/Drill Down.rpt" />
    </crviewer:viewer>
    The one that was created by  "Create report viewer JSP" did not had "allowDrillDown" attribute at all .But I added it since it isnt working.
    So when I launch my web app and click on the link to run the report, I get the report results but only to the summary level. When I double click the summary level I get a 404 error page.
    Can please anyone suggest what is going on.
    Thanks
    poonam

    Ok. So, you added the report to the project. Now we have to add the CR assemblies to the project, add the viewer (if need be) and fire it off. Simplest code would be:
    Public Sub New()
            ' This call is required by the designer.
            InitializeComponent()
            ' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call.
            CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = ("path to report")
        End Sub
    In this case you are using the viewer SDK to runt he report. The report will prompt for any logon parameters - but you can code these also. You can load the report via the engine as bellow. Again, the report will prompt. I prefer to use the engine as it is way more "extensible"...
    Public Sub New()
            ' This call is required by the designer.
            InitializeComponent()
            ' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call.
            Dim crReportDocument As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument()
            crReportDocument.Load("path to report")
            'Bind the report to the viewer
            CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
        End Sub
    If you have a report added to the project (strongly typed) the code would be:
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = New myReport()
    For more details, I'd recommend looking at the sample app vbnet_win_simplepreviewreport.zip available from the following location:

  • How to run drill down reports

    now i am using 9ids
    Before dev 2.1 was used.
    now before we had provision to run drill reports
    by putting a button on report
    and using
    srw.run_report(); procedure ,in button action trigger.
    now in 9i what i observed there is no object button in reports.
    button has changed to text item and there is no such action trigger.
    how to run the report
    as reports are run from form by using
    web.show_document
    pls suggest.

    Hi Rajendra,
    Again prasanth here, As u said, there is no more push button in 9i and 10g, ok. so u can drill down reports by using hyperliks which is only way(according to me). some may suggest to include JSP buttons. But u can simply place any text item like 'click here to run report' and in the property inspector(i.e.property pallette) set the hyper link property with the desination of your file. It may be a weblink or may be local file path.
    example
    hyperlink: www.oracle.com/..or
    c:\temp\test.rdf
    or u can write a trigger for that text item:
    1)right clik the text item
    2)goto pl/sql editor
    3)put the code
    a varchar(30);
    begin
    a:=srw_run_report('<the report link you want')
    return(a);
    but before doing this make sure that the item type of tha t text item property should be pl/sql(this can be set in property pallete of that text item)
    I think this help you,
    Thanks and Regards

  • Examples of drill down reports in 6i

    Hi,
    I'm creating reports that are going to be deployed through the Portal as HTML. I would like to use hyperlink drill down from one report to another.
    Is there a doc that you can point me to that demonstrates an example of how to do this? Must the hyperlinks be hardcoded paths to the location or can they be made relative to the location that the calling report is placed?
    Cheers,

    Hi Prashant,
    You can try T code CJE0 - report 12KST1G . Here at least you remain in the screen of CJE0 instead of going to SAP menu after exit from the report. But this also doesn't solve your problem.
    I have checked transaction code S_ALR_87013534. It is giving same problem. As suggested by Shrikant , you can raise OSS note to SAP.

  • Drill down on direct database request

    Hi all,
    I would like to know if its possible to drill down in a table created with a direct database request. I've created the direct request and run it perfectly, but drilling down is not enabled and I, even thought I've looked for it, I couldnt find any option to enable it. I've also checked privileges just in case it had something to do with this, but didnt see anything neither.
    To sum up, could anyone tell me if drilling down is possible in direct database request and, if so, how can I achieve it?
    Thank you very much in advanced for any kind of help.

    NO!!!!!!!!!!
    You Direst SQL query should contain the url
    ex:
    SELECT COL1,COL2,
    '<a href=http://obiapps:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Go&Path=/Answers&path=%2Fshared%2FAppslink%20Dashboards%2F_portal%2FAppslink%20Dashboards%2FEmployee%20Department=Navigate&P0='+BUSINESS_GROUP_NAME+' target=_new>'+BUSINESS_GROUP_NAME+'</a>
    FROM TABLE
    then go for the column format
    Note: in MS SQL + is for concat, you might have to change based on your db.

  • Discoverer 10g r2 (SSL) drill down issue

    Hi,
    We have encountered a strange drill down problem with Discoverer Viewer. When configured to run in SSL mode on port 443, the drill feature in Discoverer Viewer doesn't work. When drilled, the generic html message "This page cannot be displayed" is seen. The problem disappears when the SSL port is changed to 4443 or when SSL is disabled. We don't come across this problem in Plus, no matter what the port is.
    The discoverer version is 10g r2 on Linux 2.4.
    Has anyone faced a similar problem? Thanks in advance for your inputs.
    Regards,

    Hi ,
    1. You need to include Perl 5.6.1 (or later) installed and in the PATH.
    2. Set the ORACLE_HOME environment variable to point to the BI Midtier Home.
    3. Add %ORACLE_HOME%\OPatch in the PATH
    4 . Once the one-off patch bundle is downloaded extract the patch contents under a directory
    5. Stop the service using opmnctl stopall
    6. Run Database OPATCH utility with the right parameters to proceed with the patch installation
    cd <directory where the patch contents were extracted >
    opatch apply
    7. Start the service using opmnctl startall
    You can see the list of patch installed by opatch lsinventory
