Drill down performance issue in APO SNP Planning Book

We have a requirement where planners would want to do a Details All on the header for 1000+ products in selection.
For a situation where there are 54 products to drilldown to, we get the following performance in seconds.
Time Bkt Profile      180 Days      60 Days     30 Days
Loading                  14           9.98           8.2
Details All                 262            90.18           56
So for a dataview of  180 days, it takes 262 s to do a details all on a selection with 54 products.
We think we have the latest LC (KERNEL    7.5.0    BUILD 044-123-149-413)
We think we have required LC config
liveCache server has 32GB physical memory with 45GB swap space
CACHE_SIZE= 1572864 x 8kb pages ~ 12.5GB
OMS_HEAP_SIZE= 23GB (approx 75% of main memory)
MAXDATAVOLUMES=16, ~ 63GB total
Is there anything we can do to improve the response times further ?

Thanx Charlie.
I will check the notes and let you know.
We are doing a forecasting at the wholeseller,SKU Level.
We have 1 planning area, 1000 WPs, 1000 wholesellers & 800 SKUs for each wholeseller.
Do you think that SEM 4.1 will have any problem in handling data at this level?
For forecasting purpose we are using 3 years of past data at SKU level.

  • Meaning of CONDET key figure in standard 9ASNP94 APO SNP planning book

I am trying to clarify the use and meaning of the CONDET (capacity consumption details) key figure in the SAP standard SNP planning book 9ASNP94.
    Any advice appreciated...

    Hi  Frank,
This indeed is practical requirement wih no simple solution ( at least we  did not find).
We created a background job for deletion of the stocks ( which were updated through IDOCs like your situation) at specific periodicity. The jobs were made as per planners with specific variants and when planner would like to delete the stocks, the job will be run.
Another option could to be copy the standard program /SAPAPO/RLCDELETE to a module program and check validation at the input screen, before calling the deletion program.

  • No Drill Down for a keyfigure in the Planning Book

    Hi experts
We have 5 key figures in planning book. One among five key figures is Supply information , the data will be in the level of Material and Plant level.
We have 5 Characteristics such as product, Prod Grp, Plant, Region and Customer.
I want to restrict the Supply Information Key figure not to drill down when user drill downs at Customer and Region Level.
How to achieve the above functionality using Macro?
    Thanks
    Vicky

    Hi Sunitha
    Sorry for being late reply.
As per your suggestion i created macro and it was working fine when i drill down but when i select keyfigure selection(magnifying glass) and filter some keyfigures  in Interactive demand planning  system is not showing blank screen without any  keyfigures.
When i remove this macro from Level Change,  then i can able to use Keyfigure selection.
    What is this inconsistency?
My GUI is 720 and Patch 4.
    any suggestion?

  • APO SNP Planning Book Show Product View alternative UoM

    Hi,
I have a base UoM of BTL and an alternative UoM of CAS.
I can change/save in my users settings the in transactions /SAPAPO/RRP3 (Product View) and /SAPAPO/SDP94 (Planning Book) to show the alternative UoM CAS as default.
The problem I have is when I enter the Planning Book, load a product, right click on the product (in Selected Objects), select Show Product View and then look at the stock tab, this always shows as the base UoM BTL.  Can this be saved to show the alternative UoM CAS?

    Hi Linda,
Try changing you user settings for a product in RRP3 Screen.
Page Menu --> Settings -->General Tab -->General Panel -->enter AUOM value (CAS in your case).
Note - The conversion only takes place for the products, for which the alternative unit of measure entered is also entered as the alternative unit of measure in the product master, or for the products, for which the base unit of measure has the same dimension as the alternative unit of measure.
Caution: Test it , how its affecting for other products which doesnt have CAS as AUOM.
All products which have BUOM as BTL will be changed to CAS when AUOM is maintained for them in product master.
    Thanks

  • SNP Planning book - Period Information Setting Issue

    Dear All,
In SNP Planning book we have issue related to "Period Information" for
the buckets. The period labelling is not working properly.
Actually when we go to the SNP planning book and change the Period
Information Settings(refer attachment). Once Period Setting is changed,
it gets changed to all the users(globally). So it is behaving as if it is not
    user specific settings.
Scenario is - Suppose I changed the Period information in SNP Planning
book to appear in particular format, and when other users goto SNP
Planning book their Period Information Setting gets automatically
set to the same format which was I changed to, and vice-versa.
FYI - We do not have - Use-Exit implemented for Period Setting.
Appreciate any input in this regard.
    Thank you
    Satish Waghmare

    Hi Pawan
    Thanks for the reply.
Here is what SAP has to say, this is as per reply to my OSS message.
Question- The period information settings cannot be
made user-specific; there is no customization possible. right?
SAP Says-------> Regarding the period information settings, there is really no
customization to achieve the result, unfortunately.
Question- When you goto Design of the Planning Book, inside the Dataview Tab,
Period Labelling field shows value as "A", However F4 drop-down list do
not contain u201CAu201D value for the selection. Only possible values in F4 drop-
down list are Blank, U, Z, B and E. Could you please clarify this?
    SAP Says -
    > Regarding the period labeling values, the 'A' value is blank in the
selection because you can also leave it blank for the system to use the
    'standard labeling' option.
Sharing it for for everyone's benefit.
    Thank you
    Satish.

  • The "Details All" view in the SNP planning book is not sorted

The "Details All" view in the SNP planning book should be sorted by Product Description in ascending order.
When all products in the selection ID are loaded into the SNP planning book, and then "Details All" is selected from the Header area, the product description list is not sorted in ascending order.
However when I load small number of products the issue does not occur they get sorted correctly by product description.
Is this hapenning due to standard functionality/Standard macro in Planning book?
Please let me know if anybody has faced this kind of issue earlier.
Edited by: Rohit Arun Bhosale on Jul 5, 2010 1:05 PM

    Hi Rohit,
If you are using Detail All drill down then you wonu2019t get any option for sort as it will load all codes from the selection  in the planning book and sorting will be based on product IDs.
but if you drill down from header on detail all -filter, even if you sort the display list there using ascending/descending button for Description, the list that you will get in the planning book after load will be based on the Product IDs agian.
I hope this is controlled from the selection we do in planning book where we select Location/Product, but if your planning is better driven by the description then you can remove the Product ID selection from header setting and have only description in drill down.

  • Show Sales orders, STOs, & Deliveires in SNP planning book by Shipping Poin

We are using ECC 6.0 and SCM 7.0.
We have a requirement to model the Shipping point as a location in SNP. By this functionality we want to show Sales orders, STOs, & Deliveires in SNP planning book by Shipping Point in addition to Delivering Plant which is default now.
When I create Sales Orders in ECC system always perform shipping point determination and passon to APO per schedule line via CIF. These Sales Orders always show up in SNP under delivering plant/location. We also want to show them under Shipping Point location.
Here is what I have done so far:
    1. I have created a CIF integration model for all required shipping points and CIFed over to APO. These locations are showing up in SNP planning book.
    2. I have created Sales Orders and verified the shipping points are determined correctly and sent Sales Orders to APO successfully.
    3. I see all the Sales Orders in SNP planning book at delivering plant/location.
    4. But I don't see any sales orders under shipping point. They also don't show in RRP3 screen.
    5. If I create a forecast in RRP3 at Shipping Point location they show-up in SNP planning book at Shipping point location.
Any idea how to model shipping points in SNP for planning?

check what the ATP order type is of these orders are (from RRP3)
then check what ATP group these order types are assigned to (from SPRO)
then in the SNP Planning are make sure the Keyfigure you want to see them in refers to the ATP group from above
Which planning book are you using? Is it a standard book/ copy of a standard book? What KF are you expecting to see it under... the standard book has KF for planned production that will be same as your PPDS planned orders

  • Unit Of Measure Conversion in the SNP Planning Book

I have a problem in (a copy of ) the standard SNP Planning Book 9ASNP94.
I often need to view data in different units of measure however, but would like to avoid having to set up multiple Planning Areas.  I know how to change the Unit Of Measure on my User Settings and for specific Selection IDs however, the conversions only ever work for a single Location/Product combination.  As soon as I select 2 Products, the Key Figures all revert back to the Planning Area UoM.
Is there anyway round this or do I have to create new Planning Areas? If so, what are the issues in running multiple Planning Areas - does this cause performance problems?

    Hi
My feeling is when you do conversion on aggregated level(multiple products), if any of the product has UOM missing then you coversion fails on aggregted level.
It looks strange that UOM conversion looks fine when you do conversion on each product.
I suggest you to check whether the UOMs (that you want to convert)are updated correctly on each product on their repective location in the product master under UOM tab.
    regards
    Vijaya.

  • Purchase requisition date in SNP planning book and product view not in sync

    Hello Experts,
We have an issue with display of purchase requisition date in SNP planning book.
We are manually entering the PR's for a perticular week from Monday - Sunday(01.09.2014- 07.09.2014), when the last PR is entered on 07.09.2014, it does not appear on the same day in planning book(cell becomes empty) and moves to 06.09.2014, thus quantity on 06.09.2014 is the summation of the quantities present on 06th and 07th.
The PR dates are appearing correct when we click on display details in planning book and they are correct in product view, MD04 as well.
Additionally, this is the same date on which daylight saving time comes  into effect.
Kindly advise if anyone has faced similar situation earlier.
    Many thanks,
    Aditi

    Hi Aditi,
Check the time zone that you have in your location in ECC and APO.
Also note it is recommended that you maintain the same system time zone in APO and in ECC. (check tcode STZAC in both systems).
Different time zones should generate this kind of inconsistencies.
    Kind Regards,
    Mariano

  • Stock not in SNP Planning Book

    Hi
We are doing a global implementation and we have seen the issue where stock exists in live cache, and is correctly considered in SNP Heuristics, but the stock on hand is not displayed in the SNP planning book.
This is NOT an issue with the stock category, as the same stock category is displayed for Poland and the UK locations.
This is leading me to think this might be a time zone issue?
What possible reasons can people think of where stock of the CC category is in live cache but not displayed in the SNP planning book. But another plant location is performing correctly for CC stock.
    S SB

I have answered my own issue. The stock on hand macro is initial stock + Receipts - Demands.
Deployment is running in the evening and pushing out the stock, the day rolls over to the next day and then the deployment STR demand is considered history and as per the above formula is netting off the stock.
This is a symptom of running the SNP run in the evening, not at 00.01am. (Deployment STRs of stock are instantly in the past) which then affects the stock on hand balance.
Hope that is clear to anyone else having this issue.
    Simon.

  • Demand on VC material not visible in SNP planning book

    Hi Experts,
Is there any way to plan VC (Variant Configuration ) materials in SNP at the group level ?
I will explain the scenario more in details below
I have an VC material say X. Material X has end product Y attached to it (material variant). When material X is cifed to APO, it appears as configurable product in APO & is a top level product. Now when I create a demand on material X through DP, the demand appears in product view (RRP3). However the demand does not appear in the SNP planning book nor it gets selected during background planning run. The system is configured as Variant Configuration & not CDP.
Is it possible to plan material X in SNP ? If possible how can the demand be read in SNP ?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep,
One of the limitations of Characteristics Based Forecasting is, CBF results can only be used in PPDS and not in SNP, hence it is not possible to plan that material X in SNP. Even though you use MC90 transaction which is release DP to SNP, but the data will not be available in SNP
That material X will be planned only in PPDS, there are two ways to plan, those are
    1. one way is by releasing CBF results to active version using MC90 transaction, during this release, you should maintain consumption group in release settings and in product master, in this case you have to use Forecast Check/Allocation check as a part of ATP/GATP, here you can not use CTP or MATP
2.the other way is by releasing CBF results to inactive version using MC90 transaction, during this release you should not define consumption groups,  generate the dependent requirements in inactive verison using heuristics in PPDS , and convert dependent requirements from inactive version to Forecast - active version using /SAPAPO/DMP2 transaction, in this case you can use MATP/CTP as a part of GATP

  • User are getting kicked out of SNP planning book

    Hello Experts
I hope you can help me out here!
From time to time we are experiencing strange issue for SNP user's .. User are getting kicked out from SNP planning book
    Please help us.
    Thanks
    Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,
As far as I know, users should not get kicked out unless someone terminates their session.
Even if they lock some data and the same data is needed by some job, it's the job that would fail showing data lock. Similarly, if some other uses tries to access the locked data, the user who is accessing later would face the issue of not being able to go to edit mode.
It's possible to write programs that could specifically do this work of kicking out users before we run batch jobs, but let me assume that this is not the case with you.
One possibility is that there is issue in livecache and so users are not able to access livecache or get kicked out from their active session (e.g. your log area gets full, then users would soon get kicked out after seeing the system hanging initially). This you would need to check at the time when users face issue. This would also mean that other processes that need livecache should also fail e.g. GATP, or SNP planning or PPDS planning related jobs would fail at the same time.
If you could share exactly what error message the users are seeing, that could be helpful in resolving the issue.
    Thanks - Pawan

  • Transport of SNP planning book resulted in inconsistency

    Hi
We recently added a new standard key figure to the SNP planning book in DEV system and Transported it to QA and PROD.
The issue now we are facing is the Time Bucket (TB) forward profile appears to show the time buckets in a daily format as against weekly bucket that existed before the Transport.
Is it essential to always transport the entire planning book each time we add a Keyfigure ?
will this situation even apply to macros etc.
The question now arises is IF multiple people are working on same planning book to add, delete or update items of the planning book, how do we separate them in different transport requests when each time planning book has to be transported.
Also I would like to find out any change logs to make sure changes exist before transporting a planning book ?

    Hi
It looks like the setup of your Resource Master Data.
SNP Rough Cut Planning uses Bucket Capacities, so your resources would need to have a Bucket Dimension (Therefore single-Mixed, Multi-mixed or Bucket types)
This Dimension will also need to be maintained. As a guess I would say that you hve some resources which are multi-mixed, they have a Continuous Dimanesion assigned of Time (AAAADL) in the "Time Continuous" Tab and the "SNP Bucket" Tab has a Bucket Definition set to "From Continuous" e.g. gets the same values as the time-continuous calculation. Somewhere amongst your 6 resources, one or two of them are set up differently to this. Worth starting off checking that all the resources are set up the same way here.

    Ian
