Drill down to link throws error

Hi,
I have 2 workbooks created. One for summary and one for details. Each workbooks have 3 worksheets. Parameters are identical in each worksheets of both workbooks.
I have created a link from the Summary worksheet to the detail worksheet and also passed the parameters.
When I run the summary report and Drill down to the details report, the parameter dialog box opens up and an error thrown "Nested Transactions are not Allowed". The connection to the discoverer is also lost.
Is there anything I am missing ?
Regards,
Suresh

So, just to be clear, the link is to a DIFFERENT workbook, right? Not a different worksheet in the SAME workbook. Are you using Plus or Viewer? Have you tried both?

  • Drill Down Report gives an error for General Ledger.

    Hi,
I'm using the transaction GCAC to compare general ledger with profit centre accounting. While drilling down the report for PCA, the report works fine and gets drilled down to the invoice in SAP.But I get an error when I try to drill down the report for general ledger. It gives an error GI358 i.e. No line items were selected. The diagnosis of the error message shows that pool tables have to converted to transparent tables.
I want to know whether the error occurs beacuse of pool tables issue and if yes then how can we remove the error.

  • Administrator link throwing error

I have recently installed Webcenter 10gr3 with and Oracle backend and everything was working fine. After altering the security mode from 0 to 3 and changing the applicationURL0 and secureapplicationURL0 attributes in the portalconfig.xml from * to the correct ssl url the portal loads and allows me to login as administrator but when I click on administration it says "Error - This page does not exist or the current user does not have access to it."
PtSpy shows that something is looking for an http version of the url not https but I can't find where.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
create database link test1 connect to system identified by **** using 'test1' (Here test1 is TNS alias name not the hostname, unfortunately in your case service name and hostname both are same and you are considering it as a hostname). If you want to use entire connect descriptor in your create database link command then put entire connection desriptor information in one line.
Please read the oracle documentation for database link (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28310/ds_concepts002.htm)

  • How to Pre-populate DueDate+7 in Report w/ drill down HTML link to new task

    Wizards,
I have created a report that has a column containing a HTML link to create a new task with pre-populated data filled in from the report row. Everything works great except two fields:
    (1) Due Date field should be Todays's date + 7 days.
    (2) Description should be today's date
What is the formatting to populate these fields after the =? (&TaskEditForm.Comment=XXX)
It seems to take whatever code I try and inserts the code into the field, instead of a date. So &TaskEditForm.Comment=CURRENT_DATE returns the words CURRENT_DATE
    Thanks

  • Drill down Report with Prompts

I need to create a simple dashboard report in OBIEE analytics, which takes user inputs ( prompts )  for a YEAR , STATE ( & hierarchy) and displays Population
State Hierarchy is ---> State -- City --Zip code
    Format of report is simple
    User Input    ( Section 1 )
    Year =  Year123   (  Mandatory)
    State = State 1  ( Optional )is
City = City1 ( Optional )    ( State will be  mandatory as this drop down gets populated from State value
Population Report  ( This should be initial view with a given Year input and any othe optional ones )                        Section 2
    Sate
    Population
         +State 1
    323222
         +State 2
    4343434
And drill down on State should be feasible
Questions & Issues I am facing
1  Do i have to create a dimensional hierarchy  Column at Presentation layer to enbale drill down  . I have the related data  in 2 dimension tables ( Time  &  Region ) and the relation in Population Fact table
2 )  If yes , how do i pass  user prompts to this report ... I was able to do using selection step  for the state ..But not able to pass the City and Year
3 ) Year is not part of Report Display ..but an input ..How do i use the prompt for it .
i was able to get the report in simple table format ( no drill down ) , with prompts using isPrompted ..But i am lost with the Dimensional Hierarchy + Prompt .
4 )Is Dimensional Hierarchy needed for Drill Down  ? How do i pass all the user inputs ( as above )  to it
Please suggest if there is any alternative

The problem is with drill down . We need two types of drill down action link . One for 'All' to show all values and another is for 'Y','N' values. I can use go url for this scenario however, I am using chart and the column is a measure, I cannot make the data type html otherwise chart will be blank. I cannot use condition in the first drill down as it does not show 'All' values from union. only 'Y','N' .

  • Anable drill down to crystal from xcelsius

    Hello,
I would like to know what are my options to have a drill down or link to crystal reports from xcelsius?
I have note for only one option, where I can put a "url button", in this option, is it possible to redirect to a crystal report which I save on my local computer or only to the server?
    I will appreciate your answer,
    Thank you

    Hi,
    you will have two options:
    1) OpenDocument: To open the crystal report with an URL using the URL Button in Xcelsius:
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_url_reporting_opendocument_en.pdf
It works only with reports saved on InfoView.
    2) Use Dashboard Builder (Inside InfoView)
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_dashboard_builder_user_guide_en.pdf#page=34
There you can show Xcelsius and Crystal reports next to each other, interaction from Xcelsius to Crystal reports parameters is possible through "content linking"

  • Action Link in obiee 11g for a Hierarchy Drill Down Level

    Hi
    Requirement is:
We have a Time Dimension Hierarchy with drill down Levels(Year, Qtr, Month, Day). So now i wanted to provide an action link on detailed column(day) which will navigate to other report. I have tried doing it but unable to get the actual solution.
Can anyone throw some ideas on how to achieve this.
    Thank You

    Hi,
Can u tell me whats the error you r getting over ther,
Use the hierarchy flow, starts with the + symbol,
edit the column properties and go for interaction tab and give action link + drill
check the columns between the 2 reports and assign prompts between the reports then you can get the correct one.
    Regards,

  • Error: "Numeric value entered was too low " -drill down discoverer report

    Hi ,
We have created a Discoverer drill down report (drill down to another worksheet). We have two worksheets one for the master and and the other for the detail. The parameters are passed to detail sheet (The link information is set using the Manage links option in the Discoverer plus) from the master. This whole thing works fine in dev instance.
We imported the business area . Deleted the existing file and the opened the new .dis file from local computer and then saved it to db.
Now the master report runs fine and when we click on the drill down link for the detail we get the following error
An error occured while handling the event.See the application log for more details.
    - The numerical value entered was too low."
However the link works fine in plus and desktop in the same instance.
    Kindly help.
    Thanks,
    Shobana

I hope you're not using Internet Explorer v7.
It has a specific problem with Disco Viewer, is not certified to work with it, and the error is drilling in Viewer.
The Oracle bug (metalink) is: 5608740
This bug prevents the listing of drill items under the drill icon.

  • Drill Down Error / Report Builder Limitations

I have been having alot of problems recently with the new
version of 7.0.2. A few things that i have noticed is that i can't
do drill downs anymore. I don't think it's a coding issue since it
was working in the previous 2 releases of Report Builder(7.0,
    7.0.1).
Another problem is that I have reports that return around
1,000 pages. Now, I know there is a limitation on Flash Paper/Flash
Player, whoever i was wondering if there is a work around or
something i can do to get this reports to finish. Right now I get
the error roughly stating "A script has cause this flash movie to
become unstable and if you continue it might make the computer
unresponsive". Currently the only work around that i have is to
offer the same report in PDF format, however 90% of our customers
want to run it in flash paper, and my boss wonts it to work using
    flash paper aswell.
Any sugguestions that you might have or anything please email
me. If you have any questions please email me aswell.
    Thank you,
    Daniel

Yeah, still having this issue... Can't get the links working
in Flash Paper. A temp fix is to have the report in PDF instead of
    Flash.
