Drill-down to other oracle applicaitons

Hi!
I am new to HTML DB. Is there a way to drill down other other oracle application pages (with different application frameworks, ie OA Framework) from a HTML DB Report?
Regards,
Shahin

Shahin,
When you situate a link on a report line, the link is available to click on and when you do so you'll go wherever it leads. However, there is no automatic linkage between your application and other applications, whether the supporting technologies are common or disparate, beyond that which you deliberately plan for and implement, for example, in the area of authentication, session management, reciprocal awareness of application cookies, and inter-application navigation. But without doing anything special in these areas, you could provide a link to an Oracle apps page in your HTML DB report. When the link is clicked, the user might have to authenticate and when they're finished with the app, they might have to use browser window/navigation controls to continue using the HTML DB app, but that might meet your requirements.

  • Drill down to other dimensions

    Hi,
I'm faced with some users that are used to being able to drill down to other dimensions in BEx reports from free characteristics. For example - Adding Cost Centers to Profit Centers in rows.
Is there an elegant way to handle this with BPC reports?
    Br,

    Hi Sonni,
I guess you are looking for Drill Through. Please take a look at the below link from help.sap:

You can do a drill through to a table.
    Hope this helps.

  • Register Drill-Down Reports in Oracle Apps 11i

I understand the registration process for registering a drill-down Oracle*Report in Oracle Applications is more complex as for a standard Oracle*Report. Does anyone know what the steps are, or where I can find documentation on this.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi,
ah ok, now the situation gets clearer ;)
Normally I would say that drill-down requires some kind of interactivity, so I am not sure if reports is the best way for this, because the functionality of reports is:
enter parameters > run > view output. But for drill-down you need some more functionality: select a column/value where you want to drill-in or out, have some kind of hierarchy to select the "drill-level"... I don't think that this is foreseen in Reports 6i. So I would try maybe two different ways:
    1. design the report in a way that the users can select the drill-level (or level of detail) as a report parameter. For example you create a parameter "Detail Level" with possible values "Summary", "Detailed Rows". Based on the parameter value chosen the report returns different output. This keeps you of course limited to a certain, fixed set of drill-levels, but I think this is ok in most of the cases.
    2. Another option could be to create several different reports, for example one "Summary" report and one "detailed" report, and in the summary report you could include links (dynamic URLs) to the detailed report, and when the user clicks on a certain value in the Summary report, then the detailed report is started for that specific value. However this is a bit more complex, I'd go for the first option.
But to get real drill-down functionality you should consider using Discoverer or BI Publisher technology, those are perfect for such kind of reports.
    kind regards,
    David.

  • Drill down capability in Oracle Reports graphs - Is it possible

    Hello
I was looking for drill down capability in graphs. Example my query returns parent - child relationship. It could have upto 3-4 levels. Is it possible to drill down on a per level basis using oracle graphs?

What I've seen, is people using a component to render the graph (Flex Charting or something else) and then put that rendered graph in the form data before it's being merged with the template.

Is drill down reports work in Apps?
If it is possible please reply me, please send any document reference on drill down reports
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
What do you mean by drill down reports in Oracle Apps. Do you mean using Reports Developer. It cant be done, that is why the need of Discoverer reports. Discoverer reports can be run ( viewer ) from applications but generally associated with a separate responsibility. You can drill down from there..

  • Drill down report on Report Server

How to run a drill-down report on Oracle report Server?
The drill-down report works fine in Client Server. When the same report is tried on Web (Run a reoprt on Web using Oracle Report Server - Oracle Report 6i) it do't work.
    The problem is:
1)The drill-down button doe't appear as button. It appears as text.
2)How to pass the parameter from the main report to the drill-down report.
For Ex. When you click on SS_No on the main report the drill-down report runs to show the salary, 401K deterction etc., for that particular employee.
    Thanks

I dont understand if you are working in Client server or web
    but...
If you are running in C/S you can use the host command from
    reports.
If you are running reports on the web then you should also run
forms on the web and then you can use the Forms servlet or cgi
implementation to have a URL that activates the form, or just
call a static HTML form that activates the form on the web.
If your report is on the web and your form is C/S then
As far as I know HTML cannot activate program on the computer
    that views it.

  • Price Variances, Accruals, Drill Down

I am working on a site with GEMMS 4.1 and Oracle Financials R11. I know Financials but GEMMS is new to me so I hope someone can help! My questions are:
    a) Where in GEMMS is the Price Variance account code defined?
    b) Is it possible to have price variances automatically coded to the expense code rather than a separate price variance account?
    c) Is it possible to switch off perpetual accruals for non-inventory items (I know this is possible in Oracle Purchasing for expense items)?
    d) If c) above is not possible, are there any reports in GEMMS which will support analysis of the GRNI account in Oracle GL (equivalent to the Accrual Reconciliation Report in Oracle Purchasing)?
    e) The help documentation seems to suggest it should be possible to drill down from an Oracle GL account inquiry to the underlying GEMMS transactions either via a zoom or the Drill Down button - we cannot do this here. Is this possible?
    Thanks for your help.

    A. The PPV account (as all accounts) is defined in the Manufacturing Accounting Controller>Account Mapping. Note that the segments must be defined in OraFin GL first.
    B. PPV is only created for inventoriable items. Non-inventory (expense) items do not have PPV, so the entire PO cost goes to the expense account for the item.
    C. You can turn-off the accrue at receipts option, but NOT if you are integrated with OraFin.
    D. There is no standard report that gives you the detail of the GRNI (aka Accrued Accounts Payable AAP account in GEMMS terms). It is quite a task to build one, but it can be done.
    E. I'm not sure about release 11, but there are no drilldown into GEMMS capabilities in previous releases.

  • How do I create a drill down for my summary data?

I have 7 fields of summary data with all having a common link called the customer account number.
I have tried the following steps several time carefully and was unable to get my drill down to work.
Insert menu > Group and chose the customer account number as my group field
copy and paste the summary fields to the group header ( which I now have hundreds of GH1)
Right click on the details section and chose Hide.
    Suppress the Group Footer
File Menu > Report options and check on Show All Headers on Drill Down.
I must be missing a step somewhere here.  I end up with no summary fields showing (to drill down into), and the customer account numbers showing.
Can some check this out for me?

    hi Michael,
you need a group to have drill down. you can't drill down on a report footer. if you can't group by these categories then you can't have drill down.
your other option is to create an on demand subreport that you can open. i would suggest that you go through a bunch of the e-learning tutorials on crystal reports here. after that go to the online help for crystal reports and use the search tab and search for "creating an on demand subreport"
you'd need to create an on demand subreport for each total that you are showing. again, please see the elearning topics especially on subreports, grouping. and then do follow the steps on on demand subreports in the online help.

  • Drill down in reports

    Hi,
when I want to work with drill downs is this only possible with using hierarchies for the neccessary characteristics?
I'm working with SAP BW 3.5 and 7.
    Thanks in advance.
Edited by: saplaz on Jun 23, 2010 11:11 PM

    The report shows for example:
Risk class 1 customerX 500 Dollar
                        customerY 300 Dollar
                        customerZ 200 Dollar
                        Sum 1000
    after drill down
Risk class 1.1 customerX 500 Dollar
    Sum 500
Risk class 1.2 customerY 300 Dollar
    Sum 300
Risk class 1.3 customerZ 200 Dollar
    Sum 200
The thing is that I only want to see one row with the risk class like that:
    Risk class 1 1000 Dollar
after the drill down the other rows should appear
    Rc 1.1 customerX 500 Dollar
    Rc 1.2 customerY 300 Dollar
    Rc 1.3 customerZ 200 Dollar
Any ideas how this could be done?
