Drill Through in Analyzer 5.0.3 Web Client

I have an EIS created Essbase cube with drill through reports. I can access the reports using the Excel add-in and via the Analyzer Windows client and they work as expected. In the Analyzer Web client, I see the LRO indicator, but when I click on the cell I get "Cell ___ cannot be drilled on". Does the Web client support drill through, and is there additional configuration necessary to make it work?Thanks,Jim Burnham

Analyzer 5.0.3 web client - large deployment

Has anyone deployed Analyzer 5.0.3 web client to a large population. We have over 100 users - it could go as high as 1400 in the future. When adding a new Essbase cube (we are using Essbase 6.1 p2), we have to add the new cube to each individual user id, then click properties of the cube and type in the users essbase user id, password, and confirm password. We use option 3 in this dialog box because the Analyzer web client users do not have the Essbase client on their desktop. They initially change their Analyzer password, but their Essbase password stays the same permanently. This whole process of adding a cube is very time consuming and basically a long typing exercise. If we deploy the Analyzer web client to our entire company, it will be a nightmare to add a cube. I want to know how other companies are handling this situation.

Try using the UsrUtil.exe. Check the docs on it, then build a text file (.cmd) containing the scripted user accounts you wish to create. I had all the users and user info entered into an oracle table first, then ran a short Java app over it to extract the user information, building the .cmd file that was run to create all the new users. for about 1000 users, it took about 10 minutes.robb

Install IR web client manually

Hi all,
Has anybody ever tried to install IR web client manually using setupie.bat or setupff.bat in the folder zeroadmin\component\Insight ?
I tried to install it, but after installation, the web client seems unavailable.

Hi, may I know why do you need to install it manually? For my case, I have tried to install it manually because I can't install the web client through the workspace. However, the web client cannot be installed properly even I run the setup file manually.
Finally, I found that it is the problem of my web server. Please check if you are facing the same problem of mine.
For Apache http server, you should install it through workspace properly.
For IIS5.1, will fail
For IIS6.0, you need to configure "Web Service Extensions"

Accessing drill through results with Analyzer API

So here is the scenario that my client is faced with: We've got a financial Analyzer report in which the users candrill down to a list of specific level 0 invoice numbers. Fromthere, we setup a relational drill through such that when theyreach a level 0 member, they can perform a relational drill throughand retrieve specific invoice details. What we want to do now is tohave a button which will launch our web based invoice viewersoftware (powervision) and display the specific invoice returned bythe relational drill through. Does anybody know if it is possible for the Analyzer API toretrieve the values from a relational drill through? IE: When theresults are returned to the screen, they are obviously returned ina grid form. Ideally, I would like to get the contents of a coupleof specific cells which I can then pass through to powervision andlaunch the software. Unfortunatley, I havn't been able to get ananswer yet from Hyperion Support. Note that when I try to use the API to access the contents ofthe drill through, I get the error "No current report".We are currently using Analyzer 7.2.1, but are willing to roll backto an earlier version if it means that we solve this problem. We did similar to this in the past in a different way. We created a crystal report with the detail level and while selecting the drill through option (on right click on spreadsheet grid) it takes you to crystal reports and opens up a spreadsheet with all the details. i.e on right click drill through option, it calls another web uRL which redirects to crystal interface and a stored procedure is run with parameters passed from Analyzer grid selected cell. And the results are opened up in a spreadsheet.

Drill through from Reports to Analyzer

Is it possible to have drill through from Hyperion Reports to Analyzer? Do we need to perform an extra installation procedure for doing this? Thanks Arun

Has anyone replied to you regarding this topic? I'm trying to find out as well. I want to drill from Financial Reports, with Essbase as the data source to Relational Data, similar to Web Analysis. I understand that this is not likely, but would like some confirmation with a technical explanation. Perhaps Financial Reports does not use the same API or adm process that the Excel Add-In and Web Analysis uses? From my understanding, the relational mapping goes through Essbase. If the main data source for Reports is Essbase, why can't it read the mappings see the relationship with AIS? Any help is appreciated.

Drill-Through Error Smart View And Web Analysis

Hyperion web analysis reports: Error defining Drill through connections.

we are facing problems while defining Drill through connections.
I am trying to define Drill through connection for oracle but i am unable to define.
I am having pracle client in my system and getting error: Getting connection failed.
In details: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
DB connection string: jdbc:oracle:thin:@HOST-NAME:1521:ORCL
Here i have entered IP address in HOST-NAME and service name in ORCL.
Do we need to do anything(prerequisites) before define Drill through ?
Please help me on this.

1. First check whether jdbc driver(ojdbc14.jar) file is present into "C:\Hyperion\BIPlus\InstallableApps\WebAnalysis _war\WEB-INF\lib" folder.
OR
C:\Hyperion\deployments\Tomcat5\WebAnalysis\webapps\WebAnalysis\WEB-INF\lib (any one of these depends upon the class u assigned)
Plz check the classpath as well.
if ojdbc14.jar file is not present in any of these path, place it there.
2. Java is case sensitive, SO ur server name should be in CAPS. (First, try to connect to Relational DB thru New-->DBconnection-->Relational)
Plz let me know if u still have any issue.

EIS drill through reports in Analyzer

I'm having trouble pulling SQL drill through reports defined in EIS when using Analyzer. I can pull the report when I'm in Excel, but when I go into Analyzer and double click, I get the related content box to open, but no links to the drill through report. I did some searching on the Hyperion support site and found an entry in the knowledge base that said the Grid API option had to be turned on for this functionality to work. Of course there was no mention of how to turn the Grid API on and I have not been successful in finding anything in the install guide or the admin guide. I'm using Essbase 7.1.5 with EIS 7.1.2 and Analyzer 7.2.5. Is anyone using Analyzer to successfully pull EIS drill through reports? Did you have to turn on the Grid API option? How is this feature turned on? Or, any other suggestions? TIA

Hi, I am also facing few issues related to AIS: I am unable to use Drill Through (1) Smart View: It is asking for Connections and i am unable toprovide Shared Services Provider Information. It throws an error.In case i use URL as add feature then it asks for credential butstill no luck (2) Then i tried to used Add-In Excel and (This is my 1st time):When i double click on the data figure based on Intersaction leveli defined, it is taking me LRO's and now i don't know hoe toproceed further Can anybody help me?

Web Analysis Relational Drill-Through

I have established the relational drill-through connection to my OLAP database connection but how do you apply the drill-through to an established or newly created report ?

BPC 7.5NW: Drill through to ECC

Hi Experts,
I am following the steps as given in the Drill through White Paper, but am having issues in passing the parameter to ECC's t-code.
The web link etc is working fine, but when I "Test" it in Admin, the t-code in ECC is not accepting any values. It is nothing other than logging into ECC and running this transaction.
Any thoughts?

Do the parameter values in BPC match to ECC? For example, period in BPC could be 2011.NOV, but ECC value would be different and may be two different values (Fiscal year and Fiscal period). In that case, you may add properties as necessary and use the ECC values in these properties and then map that property in the drill through.
If you can send a screen shot of your drill through mapping, that would help analyze the issue

How to increase number of rows displayed in Essbase drill-through report?

By default, the maximum number of rows per Essbase drill-through report (via Integration Services) is set to 1000. Could anyone tell me how to change this limit please?

Is this for an EIS drill through report that drills through to get RDBMS data, using spreadsheet add-in for example? If so check and see if "Maximum rows per query" in EIS is currently set at 1000 and try to increase it. (I don't recall hitting a 1000 limit in the past, perhaps your report is set at that? or if this is through Web Analysis maybe WA is governing it)
To set/change a query governor in EIS:
1     In the Drill-Through Reports dialog box, select a report name.
2     Click Edit to open the Report properties dialog box.
3     In the Report properties dialog box, select the Governors tab.
4     In the Maximum time per query (in seconds) text box, enter the maximum query time.
For example, to stop a query that takes longer than 100 seconds, type 100.
5     In the Maximum rows per query text box, enter the maximum number of rows to retrieve.
For example, to stop a query that retrieves more than 200 rows, type 200.
6     Click OK.

Error while making relational drill through connection

Hi All, This Problem is related to Web Analysis report on System 9,for aceratin report I need to fetch data from RDBMS. So I tried tocreate a connection for relational drill through, but it threwerror saying connection failed.The exact message was: "Geeting Connection Failed",and got Exception Meassge"oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver" Could you people suggest what cause is there behind that.Here I would like to mention that same RDMBS I can access onworkspace through BQY. I got this error but I was working with SQL Server. The way to fix this was getting the latest JDBC drivers for SQL Server (or in your case Oracle) and adding them to the classpath.You will have to add it the the application server classpath as well since adding to the classpath on the server isnt enough.Hope this helps

Hyperlink in Drill-Through on BPC 7.5 M

We used to have a hyperlink in our drill-through requests.
Before migrating to BPC 7.5 MS from BPC 5.1, these links worked perfectly.
Now, the result in the web browser and Excel is displayed as text instead of the link
What can cause this problem?

Are you saying that you open refresh a report, then perform a Drill Through, the results of the drill through appear different?
Does the Drill through open an HTML report or another Excel sheet?
If its the latter, then maybe there is a problem with Hyperlinks in the Excel sheet.

Hyperlink in Drill-Through on BPC 7.0 M

We used to have an hyperlink in our ECM in our drill-through requests.
Before migrating to 7.0 SP3 M from 5.1 SP1, these links worked perfectly.
Now, the result in the web browser is displayed as text :
1 - The value in SQL in which the DT requests :
<a href="http://ged-web/php/rechdoc.php?groupe=N&clause=where type='CPT' >OD00002996</a>
2 - it should display this (as before) :
<a href="OD00002996">OD00002996</a>
3 - and from now, it displays the full text instead of the link :
<a href="http://ged-web/php/rechdoc.php?groupe=N&clause=where type='CPT' >OD00002996</a>
Any idea where it comes from ?
We are on single server configuration and we use the same server and only upgraded SQL2005 from SP 2 to SP3.

Server Error: When clicking on "Drill Through to FDM"

Hi Everyone,
I am getting a server error (404 Resource not found) whenever I click on "Drill through to FDM" from a datagrid cell in HFM. I found that the link it was trying to access was
http://in-ccubicoe3/HyperionFDM/AuthorizedPages/IntersectionSummaryByLocation.aspx
which it would not find as FDM is there on another server.
My setup is as follows:
IN-CCUBICOE3: HFM on IIS
IN-CCUBICOE2: FDM on IIS
I added the document link in FDM as follows: http://in-ccubicoe2/HyperionFDM/AuthorizedPages/LogonPage.aspx?AppName=DEMOAPP
Where am I getting it wrong?
Any suggestions would be great.

You are right; I have deployed everything on IIS. This I have been forced to do due to performance reasons as FDM on the same server as HFM was making the response very slow. Is there any settings/registry tweak which can give a workaround for this?
The final solution would obviously be to configure all web apps on the same machine. But I read somewhere what 64 bit HFM web application cannot coexist with FDM as FDM binaries are 32 bit. This makes me think, that there must be something so that enables these two to be configured in a distributed setup?
