Drive will not burn from itunes keep getting error...

Hi. When i try to burn from itunes i keep getting error " Attempt to burn to disc failed. The device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media."
I have looked this up and seems to be a problem for a lot of people yet apple seem to be ignoring it from what i have read. I have reset ram it worked once but never since even after resetting it again. So any ideas. Checked for updates noting. This is realy annoying now and i am losing faith in something i like. So apple get of your arse and sort this problem out.

Rather than blaming Apple engineers, have you contacted support to arrange service on the machine? Hardware problems, traditionally, don't fix themselves. But that's where technicians come into play as a means to resolve those hardware problems.
If you get a "check engine light" in your vehicle, do you just drive around and wait for it to be fixed saying: "Man, I wish <insert car manufacturer> would fix my check engine light problem tonight."
I've encountered a similar error message on one (of many) MacBooks that I've come across recently, a service call later and a replacement optical drive... problem resolved.

I am having issues downloading library books into ADE. I have been using ADE and borrowing library books for about a year, so I am not new to this. I double click the .ACSM file and ADE opens and acts like it's downloading the book, and then I get this error: "

or a couple of times I tried I got an "this cannot be opened in digital editions" error. This happened to me several weeks ago and I fixed it before with a solution I found in the forums here, but that didn't work this time. That solution said to open My Digital Editions folder, delete all the file names for the book I was trying to download, and then delete the RESTORE folder, and then delete all the temporary internet files in Internet Explorer. I did that and it didn't work, I actually have tried to download several books, and tried the solution several times, and it hasn't worked. Then I took the step of uninstalling and reinstalling ADE, that didn't work either.
I also have deleted the .ACSM files of the books and then redownloaded them from Overdrive, and that didn't work either.
I am at a loss. I have tried every solution I can think of, I haven't been able to come up with any other solutions in this forum for these issues, so if someone could help me, that would be great.

I just tried it again and now it seems to be working fine. The only thing that seems to be different today is that my internet connection seems to be slightly faster. I don't know if that is a possibility for why I was getting those errors or not. I am just thankful that it is working again, but wary that I don't have a firm answer for what happened so that if it happens in the future I will be once again in the same position of not having a solution.

Firefox will not open at all, keep getting error message with last 2 saved web pages on it

Yesterday, I closed Firefox. I had multiple tabs opened, so it asked me if I wanted to save them. I clicked YES and closed Firefox.
I had Google Docs open at the time.
Now, when I open up Firefox, everytime, it tries to load the 2 saved pages, then gives me an error message saying that Windows will try to find the solution to why it can't open.
I cannot use Firefox at all now.
How can I fix this?
I have re-installed Firefox completely and it does not work, it remembers my settings.

Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js .

I can't burn a disc from Itunes without getting error 4280 repeatedly. I was just able to burn a CD and now can't burn another. Any thoughts? I know my CD burner works as I just made a disc. I have tried changing file type from Audio to MP3 with no luck. Thanks for trying to help me.

My WD 2tb external hard drive will not unmount from my MacBook Pro. It no longer even shows up in finder, however it does show up in Disk Utility. I have tired so many of the suggestions on the internet all to a fail.
I keep getting the message to be sure that all applications are closed before ejecting the drive. I have no clue how to tell which appliactions are using the external drive to shut them off. I turned off Time Machiene to be safe.
I don't need anything on the external drive, I am just trying to erase it, save my current info, and migrate it to my new MacBook Pro.
I have been about four days now with this issue all over the internet, in this community, and watching videos on everything and nothing about this topic to a fail.
I think I am doomed and have lossed this external drive because of some wierd application that will NEVER close on my hard drive for it to disconnect correctly. It's annoying.
Does anyone have a solution?

Have you trie using another USB port? Can you test the USB ports with other USB devices to assure they are working? You may want to reinstall OS X in case there has been a driver glitch.
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

I find the Air easier to work with if I need a keyboard if, for no other reason, that's more compact to carry around than the iPad and a keyboard, even one that is part of an iPad case. I also often have to access data from one application when using another, and iOS is not at its best when having to do rapid application switching (Command-Tab switching is a lot faster than the double press home, scroll the icons at the bottom and swap).
As well, for editing I find the lack of sandboxing on OSX allows for efficiency enhancing utilities across applications, something you don't get in iOS. I understand the reason for that, but while more secure it also creates issues of its own in terms of usability in a number of situations.
I prefer the iPad for totally single application focused situations where little or no input is required. I use my iPad to hold copies of manuals when I'm doing a full day continuing education presentation for CPAs. A MacBook Aire can't really fill in very easily for that usage.
I see them each as tools appropriate for different jobs.

I would restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod on your computer and start over. It appears the iPod is associated with another account. Any media that came with the iPod does not belong to you and di not transfer with the iPod hardware.

You need DVD burning/Authoring software.
EIther iDVD or Roxio Toast or try freeware burning software Burn for OS X.
iDVD is no longer available, but the last complete version that still works comes with Apple's iLife '09 apps.
You would need to search for this on online sites like Amazon to see if you can still purchase.
You install the iDVD app and all the authoring themes by doing a custom install of the disc and ONLY installing the iDVD app and iDVD themes.
