Driver and software issue, please help!

I am having an issue. I am running itunes v 7.2 and ever since, I get a message saying "disk burner or software not found". I have tried everything listed on these boards, including rebooting, updating the GEARS driver, etc. And nothing worked! I could only do the 32 bit GEARS though, the other two said my system don't suport them. Apple needs to come up with a fix. It looks like a lot of people have this issue! It is also a turnoff to itunes for people, including myself as I am considering droping itunes all together if this issue is not resolved. Even if it means I loose the songs I bought. I will just have to buy them again with another program and burn them on a program that works. I ran the diagnostic and this is what I got:

The last failed audio CD burn had error code -128(0xffffff80). It happened on drive E: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B on CDR media at speed 0X.
Any help would be great! Hope someone can help!

G530 - driver and key issues--please help!

Hey, everyone.
I'm having some issues. A while ago I upgraded to Windows 7 (32 bit) Home Premium, found out that I could no longer change the screen brightness. This was my only issue with the upgrade. So, I suffered through, later caught a virus through a bad download, and did a complete system restore, ridding myself of everything and restored back to Vista.
I recently--just a few hours ago--upgraded again to Windows 7, updated my BIOS, and thought everything was peachy. It is not so. The number keys (not the 'number pad') 1-0 do not work at all--only 7-0 if the number lock function is activated. I've triple-checked and restored my keyboard options to US standard but nothing doing. All of the other keys work.
As well as suffering through that, I've discovered that a driver I didn't realize I had, GuardedID, is not functioning properly, warning me with every few keystrokes: "GuardedID keyboard driver is not responding. More detail on the error is available in the Event Viewer under Manage in the toolbar. GuardedID is now turned Off." Not only am I irritated with this message popping up every so often but I'm becoming paranoid.
There is no trace of GuardedID on my computer--none that I can find. I tried searching online, finding software that I have to purchase but I am assuming that I would have had it 'free' if I hadn't even know I had it. Any kind of help would be amazing.

On another isuse about brightness control, there is another article about it that will be helpful for you if your machine type is type 4151 or 4446. G530 cant change brightness on Windows 7 Professional

New system drive and memory setup - please help!

Please excuse these newbie questions. I DO understand that these issues have been discussed ad nauseam in this forum. But I have spent probably ten or twelve hours exploring the various threads, and partly owing to my ignorance, partly to the specifics of my situation, partly to the disagreements between various posters, and partly to my concern that some of the clearer statements on e.g. SSD’s may have been outdated by the progression of technology, I would greatly appreciate it if I could get some recommendations for my specific situation.
I am going to purchase an HP Z820 sometime in the near future. I do NOT want to build my own machine; I have just enough technical knowledge to be dangerous, as they say, and want one-stop shopping for technical support if my machine develops problems.
While I will use this machine for a variety of applications, my main concern is to optimize it for Premiere Pro. Based on Harm Millaard’s (who to my untutored eye seems to be one of the most prolific, knowledgeable, and helpful individuals in this forum) “Guidelines for Disc Usage” of two years ago, I plan to install a 300GB SSD for my boot drive, and to construct a RAID 5 array out of the remaining drives. (The Z820 does not support RAID 3.) The array drives will be either five (5) more 300GB SSD’s, or four (4) 600GB 15,000 RPM SAS HDD’s.
Assume for the sake of argument that cost is not a factor, and that the 1.2TB storage offered by the 5 SSD drives in RAID 5 (vs. the 1.8TB offered by the 4 SAS drives) is perfectly adequate, which would you choose? And why?
I should add that I am a video hobbyist, not a professional, so the outfit will receive a lot less pounding than a professional’s machine. Thus, I don’t THINK that the theoretically more limited life span of the SSD’s should be an issue, over, say, the next 3-4 years. (Correct me if that SHOULD be a concern.)
Re memory, I am planning on 32GB of unbuffered memory, the maximum the system will support. I COULD get 64MB, but it would have to be registered RAM, which I understand slows things down. The slight improvement in reliability with registered RAM is not really a concern from my hobbyist standpoint; and I think 32GB should be adequate. I use 1080/60p footage, which of course is demanding, but don’t use a lot of special effects, or other Adobe applications for input to Premiere (aside from Photoshop, occasionally). Anyone disagree with this choice?
Finally, is there a role for a RAMdisk in this outfit, for e.g. cache files? Would this increase the speed, or decrease the using up of write cycles on the SSD’s to a degree that would be significant for practical purposes? If so, how much RAM would you dedicate to the RAMdisk?
Again, sorry if you feel these questions have been adequately addressed in pervious threads, but try as I might I simply can’t manage to put it together on my own. And thanks in advance for any help.

The 300GB SSD - is that an HP model? If so please reconsider: it's an older Intel SSD X25-M series that is slow, and runs at SATA 3G speeds (not 6G), which doesn't do the Z820 justice. Intel 520 series has been tested (by yours truly among others) and can be used in the Z820.
The array drives will be either five (5) more 300GB SSD’s, or four (4) 600GB 15,000 RPM SAS HDD’s.
As Harm will probably tell you: unless you also run a database server on that system, there is no advantage to 10K, 15Krpm or even SSD drives for video purposes, with the exception of possible reliability (enterprise class 10-15K drives and SSDs are tested much more extensively than desktop and nearline drives) and throughput in case of SSDs if, for instance, your workflow demands extreme bandwidth (e.g. recording of uncompressed 4K 12-bit RGB signal).
Assume for the sake of argument that cost is not a factor, and that the 1.2TB storage offered by the 5 SSD drives in RAID 5 (vs. the 1.8TB offered by the 4 SAS drives) is perfectly adequate, which would you choose? And why?
Hypothetically, I'd choose SSDs: higher reliability, responsiveness, performance, lower power consumption. I'd do research though to ensure they'd keep up with a lot of write I/Os thrown at them.
In reality, I'd choose neither, for reasons I mentioned above. 7200rpm nearline drives have sufficient performance for the purpose, and the capacity is much higher per dollar.

Not necessarily. The 2% difference between ECC and non-ECC memory (negligible as it is) is not at play here because Z820 does not support non-ECC memory. Registered or not, it has to be ECC, and registered memory is not necessarily slower than unbuffered. Even if it was, the 2% difference is unlikely to make any perceptable dent in performance given that no editing system runs its memory at 100% bandwidth at all times. Then again, if cost is not a factor, you could always swap unbuffered for registered later on.
Finally, is there a role for a RAMdisk in this outfit, for e.g. cache files? Would this increase the speed, or decrease the using up of write cycles on the SSD’s to a degree that would be significant for practical purposes? If so, how much RAM would you dedicate to the RAMdisk?
For timelines with limited number of effects, I wouldn't bother, with the premise that Premiere Pro has decent memory management on its own, and that memory will serve better if just given to Premiere Pro.
If on the other hand you do start using AE heavily, you might want to dedicate a (portion of your) SSD to "global performance cache" which is a fantastic time-saving feature of AE CS6.

Drag and drop issue, please help.

I can no longer drag and drop photos within photoshop elements 12. When working with a layer, I want to move it to a layer within another existing file, and no longer have the option. The only way I have fixed the issue in the past is uninstall and reinstall the program. I've read other forum posts and followed the instructions by resetting preferences and it does not work.
Does anyone have any solutions to this issue? Please help!

With both files open, simplest to tile them side by side, you should be able to drag the layer from the source file onto the target file. So long as it shows the 'grasping hand' you can release the mouse and it should add the layer to the target.
So what is happening now on your system? When you drag the layer to the target what icon is shown - 'grasping hand', 'no entry', something else?

ITunes and Quicktime issue (Please Help)

So last night I download the update for iTunes. Everything seemed to be going fine, I didn't have any problems. This morning I turn on my computer and try to run iTunes and it gives me an error message, an dwon't even open iTunes. Not only that, I can't run any Quicktime file, it gives me the same message. I downloaded the installer again and attempted to repair iTunes. It said I was sucessful, but when I tried opening iTunes or Quicktime the error still appeared. This is really frustrating, this is what I get for updating? Someone please help!

Wifi and time issues please help.

My daughters iPod touch 5th generation is constantly resetting the time incorrectly, I had it on auto time in the correct time zone but it keeps eventually resetting to the wrong time then I tried manually inputting the correct time but it eventually reset again to the wrong time. It's also having issues picking up the wifi, we have 5 other i devices that have no problem with wifi so I know this problem is just specific to this particular unit. This has been an ongoing issue since day she got it Xmas 2012. I've tried restoring several times but to no avail. PLEASE can someone help. We spent a lot of money on this device and she can't use it to its full potential! :(

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Itunes 7 and burning issues - Please help!

Hello!
I upgraded to itunes 7 yesterday and now I can't burn CDs. When I insert the CD it says checking media, the CD light flashes, then it does nothing. The panel at the top goes back to the apple logo?
Any idea what I should do? I tried emailing apple, but none of their suggestions were relevant.

Urgent and typical issue- Please help!!

I have a BOM material(say M) which is made up of 3 components(say A, B and C).
I procure component A from 3 different countries(T1, T2 andT3), component B from 2 different countries(T4 and T5) and component C from 4 different countries(T6, T7, T8 and T9).I process them and prepare a finished good M(as mentioned above) and export it. I want to track the country of origin of each of the components of this BOM.How can I achieve this?
To make my question more clear..If I am exporting material M, I should be able to track all the 9 countries(T1..T9) because M is made up of 3 components procured from 9 countries(in all).
Since the problem is critical, I would appreciate your urgent help on this.Thanks!!

Web ADI Error: Permissions and Connection Issues (Please Help)

I'm new to WEB ADI and I'm trying to set up on an 11.5.10 Oracle Application. I'm reading the white paper "Understand and using Web ADI in Oracle HRMS" From metalink
I created the functions Create Document, Web ADI Layout Definition, Web ADI Text Mapping and HRMS Create Document. I also create the sub menus HR ADI Seeded Integrator Form Functions and HR ADI Skills Seeded Integrator Form Functions in the menu US_SHRMS_NAV, and made sure the ‘BNE Allow No Security Rule’ is set to Yes
I was able to get the seeded download procedure to work, however the seeded upload procedure didn't work for me. I received an error " The connection to the server is unavailable". I also notice that I don't have access to HR Update Salary Proposals Integrator or the HR Integrator Setup integrator, when I select them from WEB ADI I get the following error "You do not have permission to access this functionality."
Can someone please assist me in get passed these issue?

Date and timestamp issue please help

In the following creation_date is DATE datatype.
creation_time is VARCHAR2 having only MI:SS (16:02).
:DATE_LAST_CHECKED is VARCHAR2 having string without time.
If that be the case how can I compare these 2 statements with the time. I need to compare with timestamp.
Please let me know.

I won't even ask why creation_date and creation_time are split out into separate columns. The DATE datatype supports both and you will have to code conversions like this all over the place.

Reinstalling iPhoto : 08 and 09 Issues - PLEASE Help

I has iPhoto 08 that came with my MBP last year.
Then upgraded to iLife 09.
iPhoto 09 started to have problems since I upgraded to SL.
So I read in Apple support forum and decided to do a fresh install of iPhoto.
Uninstalled iPhoto 09. Removed all necessary files. Didn't touch the library.
Used my MAC OS X Install Disc 1 and 2 to reinstall iPhoto.
But now it says I have used a newer version of iPhoto to modify the library and iPhoto quits.
Uninstalled iPhoto again.
Ran my iLife 09 DVD. It installed iPhoto.
But it still says I have used a newer version of iPhoto to modify the library and iPhoto quits.
What should I do?!

JQuery and DW issue - please help

I'm building a site in DW CS4. You can see it below. What I did was create 2 images in the right header section that blend in (the images will change in about 7 seconds via refresh). But I do not like this refresh method:

So I found a Jquery to smoothly change those photos. I first did a test by setting up overlaid DIVs to just get it to work. I got this test working properly as seen below:

So then I started tweaking the CSS to try to get it to work on the actual page in the first link above. Keep in mind that none of the images on the page below are there except for the testing of the JQuery. I cannot seem to get it to work. Any ideas?

Thanks for getting back with me. I tried a different Jquery that seems to work better with this layout. Now, I've run into getting the slideshow to fit up there without overlapping the left circles. And the text underneath is now spilling down into the other section. Here is the original:

BT home hub and broadband issues please help!!

This **** thing is driving me crazy.
To get broadband in my house we have to go with BT so signed up about a week and a half ago and got sent a home hub 3.
the thing connected up ok but the flaming internet connection drops out every 5 to 10 mins and its **bleep** annoying.
anyway a couple of days into the contract and the first home hub packs up, phone bt and am on with their broadband technician who i can barely understand for 30 minutes when he decides that the home hub is broke so he send out a new one a few days later......
connect that one up and its exactly the same dropping internet connection all the time and with a day and a half that home hub packed up too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so i spent another 30 mins on the phone to bt again, no sorry nothing, send me another home hub so thats the third one in under 2 weeks and ive only had it connected for an hour or so and its dropping internet connection about every 5 mins.
effing rubbish
anything i can do ??? cant put up with this for 12 months!!!

Please be aware that you are not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. These are user-to-user support forums, so in almost all cases the only people who will reply to your posts are, like me, your fellow users.
As to your issue, Apple does not and never has made a wristwatch as such. The only thing close to a watch that they have made was the 6th-generation iPod nano:

which has a clock feature and which some people have worn as a wristwatch. Is that what you mean?

Connect your device, select it in the left-hand column, then change the settings on the various tabs to sync the media content your library to the device. Anything already on it may be removed. If that would be a problem see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
