Driver cd setup wont run?
I have a new fx5600vtdr128 installed in a new computer, with a fresh install of win98, (asus a7n8x de luxe rev 2.0 + Athlon2600 barton core)
I tried it on my 2 other computers, the old one i was replacing did the same, the computer of my son did run but gave a fault when exiting.

What you mean by wont run ? then can you explore the cd ? if can just find the driver in the cd and install it.
Else , download at MSI website for the driver

Setup Wont Run (Flash Perfesional CS3)
When i start Extractor (which i downloaded off thr Adobe

i don't know if this is the right place to post this but im having a problem installing the trial of photoshop cs4 extended. i have vista so when i click setup i right click and chose run as administrator. the window flashes then nothing happens but when i get to task manager it is running as a process.
What version of Vista and what hardware? have you considered just logging in as administrator instead of your normal user account?

and for some reason it wont run setup from any of the mac dvd's or cd's i have
the superdrive spins up and it does nothing even when i press and hold the letter c' key on the keyboard

Go to your OS Help Menu. In the search field type dvd or cd
Click on all the troubleshooting topics & Support Articles that pertain to your issue.
You can also do the same in Disk Utility. Open same up.
At the bottom left of the window, click on the purple button w/the "?" in the middle.
This will bring up the Help Menu.

Going to get rid of the optical drive, like you suggested, and keep the internal HDD to work in conjunction with the SSD. So, I'll put my OS X and Logic on the SSD, samples on the internal HDD, and project folders on the external firewire drive. Is this what you suggest? Did I miss anything? -
My Time Capsule has been backing up without any problems and all of a sudden it stops reading on my computer. The external hard drive beeps three times and the motter wont run within. The light that usually blinks while in use is no longer blinking and is on constant. What happened?

Sorry we are unclear as to the external hard drive and its connection to the TC..
For instance the light that blinks.. is that the TC or external hard disk or what.
Did you try just rebooting / restart the whole network in correct order.. modem.. router / TC.. external drive.. clients with 2min gap between each.
Are you actually running Snow Leopard as the profile states?
How old is the TC? -
HP TouchSmart 320-1130a strange error cant install, wont run linux live, but will boot ERD commander
this PC came to me as a "look and see" with a stranger error.
symptoms:
HP boot splash screen bios (post) OK
it starts to load windows then loops. (resets)
what i tried: (and the strange symtoms)
ran all the HP inbuilt diags, mem, cpu, hdd, pc board, all passed, OK
it WILL happily boot via YUMI hirens boots cd (ERD) commander XP mode and can see all drives etc, can copy data from HDD to external usb or another portable drive.
what it wont do:
WONT boot a live USB/DVD linux via YUMI, starts to load (5 seconds worth then loops)
WONT do clean win7 install, starts to load (5 seconds then loops)
PC is not running hot, cpu only just warm.
RAM modules pass with memcheck, (2 checkers ran)
Help, any ideas???
(I can pretty well try anything that people suggest tech-wise with PC`s)
no go in safe mode, (just loops)
i put a freshly formatted 80GB sata drive in. set windows 7 setup in process, got just past the first white loading windows bar, then froze, and looped/resets
with this same 80GB hard drive in, I CAN boot hirens +ERD commander all works as expected.
CANT boot any live linux usb/cd`s. loads a few seconds of a live cd/usb then loops.
what i find odd is the fact that erd commander (XP) WILL boot and i can do as i like in the GUI , copy stuff from/to the hard drive.
this proves CPU,HDD,RAM is ok (i think??? must be something wrong?)
HDDD has been proven ok in another machine, scandisk,checkdisk, even spinrite.
RAM has been proven via memcheck, memtest86, and another ram checker.
dvd drive WILL boot hirens and erd commander.
*someone told me could be the graphics part of the CPU that is partly dead?*
any ideas?

FastBuild RAID setup wont allow me to create array (grayed-out) HELP!

2x WD Raptor 74GB
When I go into the FastBuild RAID menu, everything is grayed out. My drives show up, but they cant be select. These drives were formated. I tried to format again, but the Win 7 setup wont allow me to do it again (grayed-out).
in the "view drive assignments" menu, my two drives say "<single disk>" under "assignment". In the manual it acts like it should say, "free".
in the "define LD" menu the drives show up as well, but everything is grayed-out. Under "assignment" it says, "N" and I cant change it to "Y".
These drives used to be set up as a RAID on my old system and Im really stumped as what to do to make it work.

The two disks are the WD740GD-00FLC0 and the WD740GD-00FLA1. (both SATA I) I had them in RAID before with my 6 year old Mobo and win XP.
The RAID utility doesn't register it as an array in FastBuild under option 2 or 3. It shows up before the splash screen on startup when RAID does it diagnostic check showing my two drives saying they're healthy. The problem is it just wont let me select them in FastBuild (it shows them, but grayed out)
Clearing CMOS didn't help. I may try to download and flash the BIOS??
This is all very frustrating as my old system had this up and running... but thanks for the help and any future help!
Update: I went ahead and installed windows on one the the drives so I can use the PC, but Im still wanting to put them in RAID, Id hate to reformat and everything to find out it still doesnt work... -
Premiere Elements 12 wont run on my laptop

What is the brand/model/settings for the Canon camera that you are using?
I think that Hunt may be being jumping ahead here. Let me explain....
For example, the Canon SX1 lS generates files with the file name starting with MVI_XXXX.mov. These are AVCHD.mov files 1920 x 1080p30 and have no problems in Premiere Elements 12.
So, I would ask "In your case, is your MVI the file extension or the beginning of the file name?"

Oracle 8.1.7 on RH7.0 Installed fine now wont run at all!

The database initialized correctly and I was able to setup and connect to the database. I even ran a port scanner and checked memmory...the thing was running! Then after the reboot the database wont run at all. When I type ./oracle it trys to load and then shows "Segmentation fault (core dumped)". When I try ./oracle start nothing is echoed. I tried to copy the lib files

at www.midainternationalinc.com I've got a plain jane image rotator javascript that is supposed to run a set of images nicely in the top right hand corner. in IE and FF it runs fine...but NOT in Chrome and Safari? the script is this one -- Ultimate Fade-In Slideshow (v1.5): © Dynamic Drive (http://www.dynamicdrive.com)
I've asked for help in the Chrome help areas, but wonder why it wont run in Safari? I'm running 3.2.1 on XPPro/SP3....and I'm stumped....and yes, javascript is enabled in Safari and I can go to a javascript page say at dynamicdrive.com and things work fine....

JimI'm not a Webpage designer/coder, so there's a limit to the advice I can give you here. But I can see the effect you're describing on my Safari 4.0.4 for Windows.
I tried using the Web Inspector and the Error Console (in the Develop menu in Safari 4.0.4) to have a look at your page. Both of them are reporting the following error about your javascript:
*ReferenceError: Can't find variable: obj*
Since both Safari and Chrome are WebKit-based:

... I figure the Chrome browsers are running into a similar sort of trouble when viewing the page. -

The failure to remove the Temporary Files could just be due to having your internet connection active during the removal process. For most folks, the amount of data in this directory is minimal. If you want / need to remove the files, you could close your browser(s), make sure your Internet music and TV connections are closed, and then try removing the files manually:
Path to Folder:
C:\Users\--YourAccountNameHere--\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
Warning:
Do NOT remove the "Temporary Internet Folder" itself. Go "inside" the folder before removing anything.

I have a new Windows tablet computer with limited hard drive space (32 GB), and cannot transfer my itunes library to the hard drive. Can I run itunes from an external hard drive? I have tried to follow some of the directions on this site, but am having no success. Thanks.
iTunes will run fine with the media on an external drive.
However, I suggest that a tablet computer with a tiny hard drive is not ideal as the primary computer for managing an iTunes library, even a small one. If you have another machine, perhaps a big, boxy, inexpensive old desktop with a decent amount of storage, that might be a better choice.

I am trying to save a doc. to a external hard drive and it wont allow me. I says its read only, any ideas on how to correct it?
Save it on the internal HD then copy it from this safe location to the external device.
iWork applications can't apply their save process on devices which aren't formatted as HFS+.
But it may also be that for some reason, an external device formatted as HFS+ is set to Read Only.
If it's this case, you will have to change de setting before moving the file on it.
