Driver for Canon LBP-3000 printer

to all,
i could imagine tha there would be no driver of the LBP-3000 available for mac...
i found a site, saying that there is a CAPT driver from a japanese canon's site. the problem is... the dirver fits only up to Mac OS X 10.4.4... the OS in my macbook is tiger...
what should i do???
thanks!

10.4.4 is Tiger. Current build is 10.4.6. Next one coming up is 10.4.7, so this driver is supported in Tiger.
From MacOSHints:
After months of frustration of having to use Virtual PC running Windows XP in order to print to the Canon LBP 3000, I've finally discovered that Canon has indeed (albeit silently to the whole world) released a CAPT printer driver that works without the ridiculous requirement of having to have the Japanese version of OS X installed. This is not the Linux CUPS version, it is the full LBP CAPT driver made by Canon themselves. Software support: 10.2.8 thru to 10.4.4 (in English)
http://cweb.canon.jp/drv-upd/lasershot/captusbmacx.html
It apparently works with:
LBP-2410 / 1210 / 1120 / 1110 / 1110, Premium / 1110SE, LBP5200 / 5000 / 3600 / 3500 / 3300 / 3210 / 3200 / 3000.
I've tested it with LBP3000 on 10.4.5 (directly and via Printer Sharing). The installer is in Japanese, and it quits all applications and requires a restart, and requires you to manually setup the printer using the System Preferences. After this mild digression, you have full printer functionality and setup options (including toner usage), all in English, and it's nice and fast.
My insanity has now gone, and I can now terminate that unnecessary relationship with Virtual PC for good!
PS: Japanese language skills are not required, just press the default button(s) when installing. If you're looking for an excellently cheap printer, I can now seriously recommend the LBP-3000.

  • Printer driver for canon LBP-1120

    Hi guys,
I'm searching for a printer driver for the Canon Lasershot LBP-1120. I've been looking around a bit on google but haven't found anything very helpful.
    Thanks.

I don't know how, and if you have to ask, you probably don't, either. Sorry.
If you still have the PC that you can use as print server, try this:

  • Yosemite Driver for Canon LBP 2900

    Hi there,
Now that Yosemite has been installed and working well, I am left with a non-functional Canon LBP2900.  On Mavericks, it worked well with the patch but seems it doesn't carry across to the new OS.  I have reset my printer settings and re-patched the system as per Mavericks but no joy.
Any tips? or lots of printers going into the bin!!!

    in response to Thet Aung
    I finally solved the problem.
    1. Delete your printer in Printers and scanners preferences.
    2. Restart computer.
    3. Download and install the following driver (version 3.67 has just been released for Yosemite): http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100420705.html
    4. Restart computer.
    5. Download and install the patch appearing at step 3 on this page: http://macdaily.me/howto/how-to-install-canon-lbp2900-on-mac-os-x-mavericks/
    6. Restart computer.
    7. Connect the printer with USB, add the driver in Printers and scanners preferences, select the appropriate driver.
    8. Enjoy the rest of the day.
    It works for me!!!

  • Can't use correct driver for Canon MF4140 USB printer shared by Windows XP

    Hi all,
I have a Canon MF4140 printer connected to my Windows XP desktop machine via USB. The printer is shared and I can see it over the network with my MacBook running OS-X 10.4.
I've downloaded the OS-X version of the printer driver from Canon, but I can't select it when adding the printer in OS-X, so I can't access any of the printer settings. I've selected the generic driver but that doesn't allow me to do double sided or 2-up printing.
Is this because the printer driver does not support network printing, as the printer doesn't have a network interface?

I guess this isn't clear on the iFelix page. To use any of the built-in network printing protocols on OS X, you must either have a postscript printer (postscript printers don't require a driver, just a PPD), or a driver that works with the CUPS system (a CUPS driver). So far, Brother is the only non-postscript printer manufacturer that provides CUPS drivers. For every other non-postscript printer, you need a third-party CUPS driver. Apple tried to get around this issue by including Gimp-Print drivers (open source CUPS drivers), but your model isn't in Gimp-Print. You can look around for other CUPS drivers, but Lexmark hasn't been cooperative with driver writers. Here are the CUPS driver sources:
    http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/
    http://www.easysw.com/printpro/
    http://www.printfab.net/
You may find it easier to share from OS X.

  • Canon LBP 3000 not working on Mac osx 10.5.7

    Hi guys.
I had to do a OS re installation and now my Canon LBP 3000 printer will not print. Files get into the print Que and say "stopped".
I have searched all the forums and downloaded the English driver, the Japanese driver, doe I don't know how many restarts and no success.
Has anyone had success with this problem?

    Hi there.
I have a mate with the LBP3000 and got him to confirm he can print okay from his 10.5.7 to the machine - which he can. He is using the v1.70 Japanese driver.
You mentioned that you had installed an English and the Japanese driver for your LBP3000. Given that I couldn't find an English version for the LBP3000, I wonder if you have a driver conflict (note that the same v1.70 CAPT driver on the Canon Australia web site is for a different model - the LBP5200).
I suggest you trash the CAPT folder, located in Mac HD/Library/Printers/Canon. Then unplug the LBP3000 USB cable and run the v1.70 Japanese driver installer again. If you click on the correct buttons during the install the Mac should shut down and restart at the end of the installation. Once the Mac has started again you can connect the USB cable again and check that the printer has added. Once it has you can try printing.

  • How to install Windows 7 64 bit driver for Canon i9100 Printer?

When I try to install my Canon i9100 printer on my HP laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, Windows cannot locate a driver.  Visiting the Canon website, I find an update module for the Windows driver.  Canon says the printer MUST be installed using Windows Updater before their driver update can be installed.  I have tried everything, but I cannot get Windows to find a driver.  Windows Updater says that my computer is Up To Date.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you,
    David

    Hi Honeycutt,
The Windows 7 driver for your i9100 is only available from Microsoft through Windows Update.  Please try Microsoft's web page for assistance with troubleshooting this:

  • Canon LBP 3000

Unfortunately, Leopard has broken my printer driver, and I can no longer print. I suppose that I have to wait for the updated driver from Canon.
Warning! Keep Tiger close to hand for the time being.

I just purchased my MacBook Pro 2 weeks ago. I thought everything was plug and play. Wrong. I now have the Mac OS X; great. But it wouldn't recognize either my HP LJ 1020 or my Canon LBP 3000. Some kind soul did post a link to a driver for the HP. Some other kind soul did the same for the Canon, but I am having the same problem as others. The MacBook recognizes the printer, but when I go to print, it just says "stopped." Also, the person posting the link for the Canon said it would eventually provide me English info, which I never found. I can read some Japanese and I loaded it, but, I'm not any further along.
So, as I am gathering from these forums, is our only choice to wait until Canon finally gets its act together, or are we all forced to go out and buy new printers? The Canon is a beautiful printer and works perfectly... in Windows.
    Any comments/help/suggestions?

  • Problem in Canon LBP 5910 printer in OS X 10.8.3, shows error: 20600

Hi I am using Macbook Pro with OS X 10.8.3, I am getting problem while printing from Canon LBP 5910 printer , the printer driver is installed, but while printing, process will get paused and show error 20600.
I have reintalled the printer but still the problem is not rectified.
Do any one has faced similar problem.
    Thank you
    Mohit

Thank you for supplying the information.
Your image shows that the driver being used is v2.05, which was not 10.8 compatible. The latest version of UFR2 driver is v2.43, so check the Canon web site in your region for this latest version of driver for this model.
After downloading the driver, delete the current printer/s in Print & Scan that are using the v2.05 driver. Then open Finder and navigate to HD > Library > Printers > Canon and trash the UFR2 folder. Then restart the Mac and install the v2.43 driver. When the driver has finished installing, then add the printer in Print & Scan.

  • Problem of canon Lbp 2900 printer with my airport express

I can install canon Lbp 2900 printer connected with my airport express,  but when I print, it shows the communication error. but when I directly install the printer to my macbook through USB, everything works fine ,it can print well. Anyone can help?
and I followed the instructions below:
This is what worked for me...
The printer works with Mavericks using the new CAPT v3.65 driver available here:  http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100420705.html  and the old Mountain Lion patch which is available here:
    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7kZEfXZH5ZXOEt0R2NnNVpwdDQ/edit?usp=drive_web&p li=1
Go to System Settings / Printers and Scanners and delete your printer, then restart your computer. Install the new CAPT driver and restart your computer. Install the patch and restart your computer.
Go to System Settings / Printers and Scanners and reinstall your printer selecting Cannon LBP2900 (CAPTuk) driver from the drivers list
You should now have a working printer.
    Good Luck

In crowded WiFi situations, everything will slow down. Based on your description.....it is what it is.
I've already controlled the usage of wifi-channels around and I'm using the one with fewest users.
You want to be the only user on a channel. Even then, users on other adjacent channels in close proximity will drag down the bandwidth/speed on the entire network.

  • Setting Canon LBP-810 printer on OS X (10.4.7)

I've just bought a Mac mini and can't set-up my Canon LBP-810 printer. The Canon website says that this printer is not configured for Macintosh. Is there any other solution than having to buy a new printer?
Mac mini   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I don't have experience, just referring you:
    http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=C
    anon-LBP-810
I doubt very much if this will work in OS X. I got worried when the description of the driver on the linuxprinting.org page said -- "the driver talks directly to the USB port."
I took a look at the source code for this driver. The README that accompanies the source code states -- "device should appear (/dev/usb/lp0)". This indicates that the driver wants to send data to a raw USB device. This is not possible in OS X. I don't know whether the driver could be made to work in OS X. There appear to be other criteria in the README for setting up the printer that doesn't look like it can be made to work in OS X.
This is one for advanced users only.
