Driver for HP laserjet 1000

I have a flashy new imac and my hp laserjet 1000 is not listed on the drivers list. Lots of other hp printers are listed - is there a way to 'trick' the computer into thinking a different printer is connected but still be able to print simple text?
I hope I'm not the only one out there who has had this problem.
Thanks,
Mel C

After some reading and searching, I came up with a post on macosxhints.com
The links to the Zenographics downloads in the article are broken. I finally did find what appears to be a valid link to download the software here.
I will have to leave it to up to you to do the extra reading, interpretation, experimentation, and testing.

  • Scan driver for HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP

Hi! Could anybody provide a driver for HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP for scanning that it really work?

Hi!  Unfortunately Your advice does not work. I have downloaded the full feature software Your dirrected, however I can not install it. I run the full feature software hp_M1530_MFP_full_Solution_usb_n_w.exe (find enclosed picture 1.jpg, please). It reaches 99 % of installation (2.jpg) after 14 minutes. Further after 3 min. I get an error message (3.jpg) “An install operation took too long to execute. This a fatal error preventing product use. Please restart your computer, and run this installer again”. After restart of computer, I get a message “Installing device driver software” (4.jpg) and “Your device is ready to use” (5.jpg). Despite that, the scanner does not work, and there are some dysfunction’s with the printing. We have two such printers, and both encountering with this problem. Could you help, please?

    Hi,
Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled:
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
    Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.
The HP Toolbox FX ( as part of a Full Feature Software) is not compatible with Windows 7 but only a UPD solution, full functionality is only available uisng compatibility mode with the Windows Vista software but for a 32-bit OS only, not for a 64-bit OS:

  • Printer driver for HP Laserjet m1132

I've recently switched to a mac with everything updated (version 10.9.5) and I'm trying to install a driver for printer laserjet m1132.
I followed each and every steps: system preference > printers and scanners > selected + > (selected the printer)
after selecting the printer another window popped out with list of printers, i selected the printer but then the "Add" button just got greyed out. And there's also a dropdown menu where i had to select to driver by myself, which i can't since i can't download the driver.
    Any ideas?

    Hi @joeyyoo007,
I see that you are having issues with getting the printer installed on 10.9. With a few steps, we should be able to resolve this issue.
Connect the printer directly to the Mac, by a USB connection. Run the Apple Updates to install the printer drivers.
I have provided a document on how to setup the printer on the Mac.
OS X v10.9 Mavericks: Installing and Using the Printer on a Mac.
If you are still having issues, please do the following steps listed below:
Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
    Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer.
    Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon ( ), and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
Try adding the printer again from the Printers and Scanners window.
If the driver fails to install, download and install the HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X.
Let me know how you make out.
    Have a nice weekend!

  • Printer driver for HP LaserJet 4L with Windows 7

I cannot find the printer driver for my LaserJet 4L in Windows 7.  I have a parallel to USB converter cable attached to my computer.   I need the drivers.
    Thanks.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

My Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit system has a built-in driver for this printer model:
I don't know whether the driver is present on a fresh Windows install; it may only have appeared in the list after the Windows Update button was clicked on the above Add Printers dialogue, then waiting (perhaps for several minutes) whilst additional drivers were downloaded, and the list repopulated.
I'd assume that the same might be true of earlier Windows versions as well.

You could try the 1515 driver or use the Generic PostScript Printer PPD when adding the printer.
    Hope this helps.

  • Download driver on mac 10.7.4 for HP Laserjet 1000

just bought an HP Laserjet 1000 and getting error message that reads: installation for 10.6 or lower' and I have a MAC OS 10.7.4. how do I get the driver to load in?

I have successfully installed my Hp Laserjet 1000 printer on Mac OS Mavericks with a workaround i luckily got.
This should also work with the 1005/1018/1020 printers as well.

  • Cannot find drivers for HP laserjet 1000

for the love of GOD, can someone tell me why this is so difficult?
I'm on OSX 10.6.8 and the one printer that apple did not install drivers for is the one I am using: HP LASERJET 1000.
I have scoured the forums, and the queries that have been answered date back to four years ago, with the referenced links leading to non-existent sites.
    Finally, I found some information.
I downloaded the open-source drivers called foo2zjs, but along with those you need FOOMATIC RIP and GHOSTSCRIPT, available from the Linux Foundation. Without the latter, the former won't work!
Thing is, the download links for FOOMATIC and GHOST don't work. I get a loading reset error
    https://wiki.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/foomatic
What, pray tell, do I need to do to print something? Why is this so difficult?
Please help save a human life today; give me the answers.
    It's good karma
PS: contrary to my product listed, this matter concerns an iMac, not a macbook pro. thanks!

  • Win XP 64 driver for hp laserjet pro 200 color mfp m276nw

Hi, any workaround for using this printer under XP-64?
Maybe driver rename or compatible generic?
Just bought it, unpacked, connected - and found out that XP 64 is not supported.
Now what? Return in disgust and buy Cannon or Minolta again, as they support all OS?

  • Windows 7 Driver for Color Laserjet 2605dn is PostScript Only -- Has Specific Issues

This network-connected printer runs fine under XP SP3 with a PCL driver downloaded from HP (5 or 6, I don't remember).  New computer has 64-bit Windows 7.  Now HP is telling me to use the built-in Windows 7 driver (see http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?spf_p.tpst=kbDocDispl... but all I can find is PS, no PCL.  This driver works OK except on certain types of documents:
Printing a scanned document takes forever, if it prints at all.
Similarly for PDF pages that have background colors or anythign else unusual.
(I could send examples of problem pages it that would help...)
I can print these same documents easily and quickly on my XP computer with the PCL driver, so I'm assuming PS just chokes on these kinds of documents.
Is there an appropriate PCL driver for Windows 7 64-bit (or could I run a suitable 32-bit driver in my situation)?
Failing that, is there any other solution to this problem?  (I can't keep a Windows XP computer around forever!) -- jclarkw

    >> ... Any recommendation PCL5 vs. PCL6 with this old 2605dn? ...
As far as I can remember, the LJ 2605 printer has a very limited set of printer-resident PCL5 fonts, which means that:
Using bespoke software which directly generates print jobs (without the benefit of a driver) and which assumes that the normal set of LaserJet fonts will be available via standard font selection sequences, may result in unsuitable substitute fonts (from that limited set) being used.
The standard UPD PCL5 driver may also suffer from this problem (I don't know); even if it doesn't (i.e. it is aware of the limited font set), then use of other fonts in the source document will have to be satisfied by the driver either rastering the text (sending a bitmap image) or dynamcially generating and downloading a PCL5-encapsulated (subset) of the source (TrueType) font (which will increase the size of the print job).
As far as I'm aware, the PCL6 (PCL XL) intepreter in the printer includes the normal full set of fonts in the firmware.

  • Cannot install driver for HP Laserjet 1022 Printer.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  When I attempt to install the driver for the HP Laserjet 1022 Printer, although the software recognized that the printer existed (ergo must be plugged into the computer), I keep getting the message that installation is being held up until I connect the printer to the computer.  Any suggestions?
    Thank you

    Hi mtnkeena2,
Use a different USB cable to see if the computer can then see the printer.
