Driver for network adapter

Hi, I have a hp pavillion g series laptop which will no longer connect to the Internet. I have tried doing a recovery but this seems to only work now and again (gets less successful the more I do it).
When I click on the Internet symbol it tells me Internet explorer cannot display web page.
I click on diagnose problem and it tells me to install a driver for network adapter.
Whatever I try seems to be failing.
Any help would be great.

I am using bootcamp with windows 7, and always is showing me that there is no networks, it says I don't have a driver for the adapter; therefore i keep installing it, and suddendly windows 7 doesnt recognized it.

I have a Macbook Air 13" (mid 2012), recently i installed windows 7 with my original disk and code. I downloaded all the drivers via bootcamp assitant, however everytime the machine keeps disconnecting spontaneously from the internet, and keep saying that there is not driver for the adapter.
What can i do???

I install it according boot camp instructions. My thunderbolt adapter used to work fine with windows 7, but suddenly windows 7 did not recognize the driver of the adapter, and each time i install it, happens the same.

Server 2012 R2 - The system failed to register host (A or AAAA) resource records (RRs) for network adapter

We seem to be having an issue recently after introducing new Windows Server 2012 R2 servers where they fail to register DNS correctly. The Windows Firewall is off and the servers are on the same VLAN with no firewalls between them.
When I do an ipconfig /registerdns or wait 24 hours for the system to try we get the following error:
The system failed to register host (A or AAAA) resource records (RRs) for network adapter
with settings:

The reason the system could not register these RRs was because the DNS server contacted refused the update request. The reasons for this might be (a) you are not allowed to update the specified DNS domain name, or (b) because the DNS server authoritative
for this name does not support the DNS dynamic update protocol.
To register the DNS host (A or AAAA) resource records using the specific DNS domain name and IP addresses for this adapter, contact your DNS server or network systems administrator.
On our DNS server we have set for the internal.local zone Secure Updates only so that looks good because it is Active Directory that should be handling this authentication to update the record I assume. Just to mention that when also doing an ipconfig /regsiterdns
the update fails within a few seconds.

This issue is only affecting Windows Server 2012 R2 clients and testing with Windows Server 2008 R2 clients works no issues. So is this a mis-configuration or a bug with Windows 2012 R2? I have checked all DNS settings on client / server which all look good
to me so reaching out now to see if anyone has any ideas?

Hi,
Unfortunately any HP Software component (HP Toolbox, HP Scan, etc.) for this product support 32-bit envoirnment only.
As you may find by the User Guide, only basic Print and Scan drivers provided for 64-bit (Page 14):

Problems with driver for network after installing windows.

Hi. I have recently installed Windows 7 on my mac pro (from ultimo 2012). I've used boot camp for the installation. However it did not install the driver for my network. How can I get the driver??

I performed all the windows xp updates when I installed xp.
Our computer has labview 6.0 and 6.1 on it. I thought maybe they were causing a problem, so I tried uninstalling them. I downloaded msiblast and tried to remove Labview 6.0 and 6.1, but since they used to be on a network, and the university does not carry those programs anymore, they gave me errors. I was able to uninstall 7.0 and reinstall it, but it still gave me the same error as described in the original post.
I went into the registry and removed 6.0 and 6.1, but it still gives me the same error.
I need a way of removing 6.0 and 6.1 so that I can do a clean install of 7.0.

Your T42 only has two network adapters, one for Ethernet, the Intel Pro 100/1000 you say is installed, and the second one is for your wireless, the Intel 2200bg with the latest driver here.
But you are much better off downloading the Thinkvantage System Update (TVSU) from here and then letting TVSU update all your drivers to the current level.

Vista 64bit can't find driver for networked Laserjet 3390.

I originally posted the following in the wrong section so I posted a retraction there and am reposting in this networking section. ===== I have an all-in-one Laserjet 3390 printer. It's connected to my WinXP Pro PC via USB and works fine as a printer. I don't use the scanner since I have a Canonon scanner that I use. I bought a Dell Studio 1537 laptop that came with Vista Home Premium 64bit installed. I networked the laptop to the WinXP PC via ethernet cables and a Belkin router. I can transfer files between both PCs with no problems. Now I'm trying to print on the 3390 from the Laptop. When using the Vista laptop, I can see the 3390 on the network. But when I try to connect to it, a window pops up saying: ***** The server for the 'HP LaserJet 3390 Series PCL6' printer does not have the correct printer driver installed. If you want to search for the proper driver, click OK. Otherwise, click Cancel and contact your network administrator or original equipment manufacturer for the correct printer driver.***** So I selected Vista 64bit on the HP website and downloaded the Universal Print Driver HPUPD47PCL664.exe. Unzipped that file in a folder on the Vista laptop. Then connected to the 3390 printer again from the Vista laptop as I did before and when the pop up occured, I browsed to the folder that contains the unzipped UPD driver. I see several .inf files which is what the install program wants but when I click OK, a pop up says: ***** Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. Contact your administrator for help locating and installing a suitable driver. ***** Any ideas?

mrlaw10, You do not need the HP software since your printer is already on the network.
First, do a Windows Update. Next,
1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing.
2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Devices and Printers.
3. Click the Add a printer
4. Select Local printer
5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's host name (found on the printer's network configuration report the generated above). Click Next.
If you get a message about Additional Port Information Required, then the printer was not found using the host name. You can go back and retry or using the printer's IP address instead of the host name.
7. Select HP or Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
10. You may be asked to share the printer. Make a choice and click Next.
11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
12. Click Finish.

Trouble loading Mac driver for Display Adapter (connecting Mac to flat screen TV)

Howdy:
I'm trying to connect my Mac (OSX 5) to a flat screen TV. To do so I just bought a USB 2.0 to HDMI® Display Adapter w/ Audio (1920 x 1080). The mini CD containing the DisplayLink software drivers that came with the unit won't fit in my Mac CD drive. I then tried to download the correct driver from the DisplayLink website, "DisplayLink USB Graphics Macintosh Driver" which appears to be appropriate for OSX 5 (at http://www.displaylink.com/support/mac_downloads.php). This proceeds through the installation steps, then bombs out with the error message that "The following install step failed: run preinstall script for DisplayLink software. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
In the hopes of finding a compatible driver, I looked for an earlier version of the driver on the DisplayLink site, but couldn't find one.

Your 20" 2007 iMac has a mini-dvi video out. Forget about using usb and installing drivers and just use a mini-dvi to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable instead.
Mini-DVI to HDMI Adapter
Then connect your audio line out (headphone) to your TV's audio in and you should be set to go.

How do I map a drive for file adapter

I am using a File adapter in XI, and would like to read files from a different server.
In the file adapter, there is no place for a username/password, so I need to map a drive first, then use the drive letter in the file adapter.
eg Source Directory = G:\FTP-Data\sapgms\GMSToXI
On the source server (call it DATASERVER), there is a local user created with rights to the appropriate data directory.
I can logon to the XI server as the XI user (eg xidadm) and map a drive, entering username of DATASERVER\username, put in password, and marking as "Reconnect at logon"
The problem is that when logging back in, the system prompts for the password. This is no good for the XI application service.
A NET USE command in the startup directory works when I log on myself (eg net use Z:
dataserver1\CorpData /USER:dataserver1\xid_user password1) , but still does not make the drive available for the XI application.
The XI user (eg xidadm) is local to the XI server, so cannot be given access on the data server.
I have been using FTP successfully, but have suddenly found that the administrators do not want FTP running on the production data server...
So my question is:
is there any place I can map a drive with a specified username/password, and make that drive available to the file adapter in XI?

We are trying to configure similar scenario using Sender File (NFS) adapter from SAP server directory to XI.
We have done the following steps:
1) Map the SAP drive (
SERVER\interface\ACH) <b>in XI system</b> windows explorer. It created an entry "Ach on SERVER\interface" and I can see all files in SAP directory from XI.
2) Created SAPServiceXID user <b>in SAP system</b> with the same password as in XI.
We tried all source directory names, but in Adapter Monitoring we still get error saying that Directory doesn't exist.
What is the sharename in the directory you mentioned?? (In
servername\sharename\path)
In our SAP system (SERVER) files are under following directory d:\interface\ACH and in XI we mapped it under G drive which shows as "Ach on SERVER\interface"
Are we missing anything here??

For me I use the Atheros driver, ath, on a IBM Thinkpad T40. I works with no encryption, but I use WPA with a long key, which doesn't work (yet).

Formatting drive for network access

I'm going to buy a new router with file sharing via USB (not an AEBS). Most require the drive to be formatted in various Windows or Linux schemes; I could use either a Linux or Windows virtual machine I have to do the formatting. I'm wondering which I should select. I am leaning toward ext3, since the router itself would run Linux, and I assume any repair utilities would be readily available, while I'm not likely to invest in buying Windows disk utilities since I have little use for them.

Why would a USB drive connected to a router have to be formatted for Windows or Linux? Now, if you are referring to a NAS device, then you may be correct for some of them. But if they do require such formatting it's usually accomplished by the device's firmware. You need not run Windows or Linux.
To effectively use a NAS with the Mac, the NAS needs to support AFP. Your described setup, however, will not likely work with Time Machine.

Can an external drive connected to an airport express be used as a time machine drive for networked computers?

The AirPort Express will not support a hard drive at all if you are connecting to the USB port.
While the AirPort Extreme will support a hard drive, Apple does not support Time Machine backups in this type of setup.

Windows 7 network adapter drivers - bootcamp

I have bootcamped my Mac and after finishing installing Windows 7 there is no internet access and my driver for network adapter is missing... How can i solve this?

I had the same thing as you (that my BT mouse & keyboard were working but then after a while they started to act up -mouse freezing on&off, keys sticking-).
In my case the 'before' and 'after' was actually running the setup on the Bootcamp Utility disk that contains all the Bootcamp drivers. There must be a rogue driver on there that messed up my system. I ended up doing a reinstall and only installing the bluetooth drivers (that are also on the same Utlity disk, but in the $WinPEDriver$ folder. This at least worked for me.
However, by doing so I did not get the handy Bootcamp utility in the lower left corner of Windows that allows me to conveniently reboot and switch from Win8 to MacOS. I am trying to figure out if I can install that utility separately without all the drivers being automatically installed as well
