Driver for Panasonic KX-P1124

Hi Folks, I’m a little embarrassed in that I have been using Apple computers since the IIe was new and can’t seem to resolve what should be a simple problem.
I have a Panasonic KX-P1124i printer that I have been using for many years on a Power Mac 6100 using a PowerPrint adapter. Since I now only use this printer for making labels, I’m trying to attach it to my Silver Tower G4 using a IEEE 1284 Parallel to USB cable.
Since there apparently is no Mac driver for this printer, I downloaded Ghostwriter and the Epson LQ850 PPD which should work as this printer emulates both the Epson LQ850 and the IBM Proprinter X24E. Unfortunately, it does not work.
When I attempt to print the screen indicates the computer is sending data, but the printer does not respond.
I’d appreciate any suggestions as I have had a serious brain flush!

You could try the alternative communications software (backend) usbtb from _http://buymelunch.org/printing/usbtb/_. That software will sometimes work better with parallel to USB adapters.
You might also want to try another parallel to USB adapter if you can find one you can borrow or find one that you can return to the store for full refund if it doesn't work. If I remember correctly, the PowerPrint adapter goes back a bit. It may not be fully USB compliant.

  • Driver for Panasonic DP-8035

We recently got Panasonic DP-8035 on our network in an office of 80 employees.
10 of the top Managers have Mac Book Pro / Mac Book Ratina with MAC OS X (10.4, 10.5, 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8) and system specs varring from Core i3 to Core i7, RAM ranging from 4GB to 16GB.
Apart from the above, we are equipped with 1 Mac Pro and 6 iMac(s) with the specs again varring from Core i3 to Core i7, RAM ranging from 4GB to 16GB.
The rest of our computers (about 50) are Windows based computers. I found Driver & Communication utility set for Windows for Panasonic DP-8035, and all of the window based computers had it installed and are able to communicate with it.
Now I am trying to get my hands on Driver and Communication utility for our Mac Products.
By simply following the basic procedure through Preferences > Print & Scan > (add new printer); I am able to add DP-8035 as my network printer. When I send a Print to the printer, it gets Spooled on my Macs, but I can't get anything on the Printer. While checking Job Ques and Job Memory, I don't seem to find any history of the Print Job sent from my Macs.
I spent all yesternight running between my Macs and Printer, trying to find any possibility to get my Macs to Print through Panasonic DP-8035, but in vain.
If anybody have a solution, please share; I am in mess!

Here's the official list of supported printers:
OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download
No Panasonic printer is on it. That means you're completely dependent on Panasonic to provide a driver for the printer, or some other way to make it work. Otherwise there's probably nothing you can do. The only thing you can try is to set up the printer manually as a generic PCL or Postscript device. Usually, that doesn't work.

  • Driver For Panasonic PV-GS 150

Hello, I was hoping someone might know where I can get the driver for my camcorder to work on my Mac. It's a Panasonic PV-GS150. Any help on where to go to get what I need would be great.
    Thanks!

    Hi
When I bought my Panasonic camera I didn't need to get drivers to run it on the Mac. All you need is a 4 - 6 pin firewire cable (no, it doesn't come with the camera!)It might be a good idea to take your camera with you when you buy it just to make sure you get the correct one.
Attach the small end to the DV outlet on your camera and the other end to a firewire port on your computer.
Open iMovie -> New Project -> Turn your camera on to video playback and yopu should then get an Install option on iMovie. Rewind your footage if necessary, then download.
Hope this helps, come back if you have more questions.
    Cheers

  • I have an IMAC I bought from a friend.  I think he wiped it clean.  I tried to go to panasonic to download a driver for my camcorder.  It put an icon on my desktop that is setup-1.exe  when I try to open it, it says I don't have a program to open it with.

I tried to download a driver from Panasonic for my camcorder.  It puts an Icon on my desktop that is called set-up1.exe.  when I try to open this I get an error message that says I don't have a program to open it.  any suggestions.  Also, I tried to download the latest ITunes.  It put an Icon on my desktop but won't let me open it or run it.

In general, you don't need drivers for camcorders on Macs, and the .exe file you downloaded is a Windows program, which won't run on a Mac unless you also have Windows installed.
It would help a lot if you tell us the exact model camcorder you are using, and what application you want to use it with.
Regarding iTunes, the latest version is iTunes 11.  You need to have OS X 10.6.8 or later to install iTunes 11.  Your profile says you have OS X 10.4.11, which is a much older version of OS X, so you won't be able to install iTunes 11.  (Here are the iTunes 11 specs.)

  • Need a new hard drive for T43...

I need help finding a new hard drive for my T43.  It appears that my hard drive is starting to fail.  It just seems to not power up all the time during boot up or it just dies after it's in used for a little while.  The T43 seems to only be compatible with certain types of hard drives though and I can't find any place that still sells them.  Does anyone know of a place that still sells hard drive compatible with the T43?

    Welcome to the forum!
Any PATA laptop drive will work as long as it's 9.5mm high, but most of today's drives will throw a "2010 error" on boot, which is really not a big deal IMHO.
The biggest hard drive that won't throw this error is Fujitsu MHV2120AH (120GB/5400rpm) that has been discontinued a while ago. Expect to pay a hefty premium for a sealed one.
A lot of good info here:

  • External drive for capturing tapes

I'm finally getting around to capturing a lot of miniDV tapes laying around, and making some DVD's out of them.
My Panasonic PV-GS150 camcorder is connected to my MBP via firewire 6 pin to 4 pin cable.
Since my MPB is down to ~60 GB free, I want to use an external drive to store all the raw data. I have a WD Passport drive for that purpose. It's connected via USB and it comes up cleanly in Finder.
    Two questions --
    1) should I reformat the drive, presently at FAT32? I'm guessing yes.
    2) how can I configure iMovie to use this external drive? I didn't see anything in Preferences to do so.
    Thanks!

G-drive from Apple = rip off if you ask me. Apple simply charges way to much for stuff like that. $260 for a normal sized (not pocket drive) 500GB external drive is too much.
Example, while not Firewire 800 compatible, for $10 less, Frys.com has a Seagate FreeAgent Pro 1 TERABYTE drive with eSATA, USB2, and Firewire 400 (free shipping as well) and it comes with a 5-year warranty. So twice the storage for less money.
Or you could get a 500GB external drive with FW400 ports for about $100+ less than Apple wants and use the savings to buy a Firewire hub and STILL save money.
But you can also find other FW-800 compatible external drives for less than Apple at many places and since you have FW800 ports, you probably should take advantage of them. Lacie has a number of FW800 compatible drives, are a known Apple friendly company, and you can buy direct from them or through many third party retailers. A quick check shows a 500GB model with FW800 for $190 direct from them. Other vendors might sell it cheaper.
    Good luck,
    Patrick

  • Support for Panasonic GH4 RAW (RW2) Files?

Any word on support for Panasonic GH4 RAW (RW2) files? They load into Aperture (and Photoshop, too) with the dreaded "unsupported image type" alert.

The GH4 comes with a software disc that includes SILKYPIX Developer Studio 4.1 SE for Mac & PC. Installing the software seems to also install the Panasonic Raw 2 Image Plugin. Once the software was installed, I was able to open the RW2 files shot with the GH4 in iPhoto, Lightroom 5 and Preview. After SILKYPIX Developer Studio 4.1 SE is installed, the RW2 preview images also appear in Finder.
I was not able to find the software on the Panasonic web site, so if you are installing on a new Mac without a CD/DVD drive, you'll need to use Remote Disc.

  • T42p WDDM Driver for Windows 7 Aero

Does anyone know if there is or will be a WDDM compliant driver available for T42p to use Aero in Windows 7?
It looks like the graphics card will handle it but it's not part of the driver.
The model number of my T42p is Type 2373-GVU
    Graphics Card:
ATI MOBILITY FIRE GL T2/T2e AGP (0x4E54)
    Internal DAC(400MHz)
    128 MB
    Thanks in advance.

The driver for the FireGL T2 should be included in W7, as it was in Vista.
Have you already installed W7 and ran all the updates?

  • T42 WDDM Driver for Windows 7 Aero

Does anyone know if there is or will be a WDDM compliant driver available for T42 to use Aero in Windows 7?  It looks like the graphics card will handle it but it's not part of the driver.   Here's the message I'm getting from Aero in Windows 7:
Update the driver for your video card.
The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM).  Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver.
    Thanks.

  • T41 Video driver for Windows 7

The current version of the ATI Display Driver for Windows 7 32bit does not work properly on my system Windows 7 Where to find good support for ATI Mobility 9000 and 3D Accelerator

    Welcome to the forum!
There is no official W7 driver for Radeon 9000, since your GPU is considered too weak to run that OS. You'll have to search the web for a modded driver.
    Hope this helps.

  • Wireless driver for a R51 2888-CTO

I have reinstalling an R51 model 2888-CTO S/N L3-CTCD [the rest is worn out]  with Microsoft XP SP3 and cannot find a driver for the wireless ethernet.  Can anyone tell me which model wireless controller is in this device?  I have tried all five listed on the Lenovo driver page for this model with no luck.

I do not think it is an intel controller cause Intel driver auto utility tells it can not recognize the wireless controller

The first link is the correct one.
After downloading and extracting the driver, you must go into C/drivers/win/wlanint and run the setup file from there.
    Good luck.

  • Win 7 on a31p / need driver for graphics card FireGL7800

    All greetings from snowy Russia!
I had to install Win7 on my laptop a31p, in general, I am very pleased with the speed and new features. All the drivers are set automatically, and even managed to get to work the battery icon in the system tray
But there is one big problem: I can not find drivers for FireGL 7800 graphics card
I wrote a request to ATI (now AMD) but ou redirected me to Lenovo, citing the fact that they do not write drivers for these cards.
I would be very grateful for assistance in finding the driver for Win7 or la Vista!
You can write me an email:     barmaley.russia  @  gmail.com
    Solved!

    Welcome to the forum!
There is NO driver for Vista or W7 when it comes Fire GL 7800 because it's simply considered underpowered to run any of these operating systems.
I've had to tweak the XP driver to get it working under W7, and results were less than spectacular, although not bad for a 7-year old machine.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need larger capacity Hard Drive for ThinkPad T43 Product: 2668Y4F

Please recommend company web sites that carry compatible 80GB Hard Drive or larger capacity Hard Drives for ThinkPad T43 Product/Model: 2668Y4F. Lenovo apparently does not carry hard drives for older ThinkPad notebooks.
    Please advise. Thank you, Mark

PATA/IDE laptop drives have gone the way of dodo bird, for the most part.
    This would be my pick:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-160GB-2-5-HM160HC-Hard-Drive-Brand-New-PATA-IDE-ATA-for-notebook-lap...
It will throw a "2010 error" on boot, but will work perfectly nevertheless. I've used these drives exclusively prior to converting my fleet T43p units to SATA.
I'm NOT affiliated with the seller in any way. Proceed at your own risk.
    Good luck.

  • Formatting hard drives for HD

I am preparing to transfer my first AVCHD footage from a demo Panasonic HMC150. I am using FCP7 on a new MacBook Pro 3.03GHz with 8GB RAM. I am planning to use two 1 TB internal hard drives with a 2 bay Blacx eSata dock through a Sonnet eSata Express34 card. How should I format the drives to work most efficiently? Also, will this system handle the HD? I think my plan is to convert to ProRes for the edit but I am really not sure yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Echoing others - don't use RAID. It'll only create problems.
I have two 1 TB Firewire 800 drives for video editing - one is exclusively my scratch disk, well the other I use to store project files, still images, exported files, encoding files, etc.
I did some speed test when I first got the drives and there was a negligible difference in speed between the RAIDed drives and un-RAIDed drives.
I would suggest you purchase a 2 TB USB drive to use a time machine volume. I know Time Machine isn't an ideal backup solution (I often turn it off when I'm editing) but it works.
