Driver help after format from Windows 8 to 7(64bit)

Hello all!
My laptop was having issues, and I have been wanting to convert back to Windows 7 for a while and took this time to go ahead and make the chage.
After finishing I found that I didn't have the original drivers to get the basics up and running. I believe these are the chipset drivers.
I have looked and I am unable to find drivers to be sure that they are the correct ones.
All help is appreciated!
Thanks.

went to Apple to download itunes,
    hit download now,
Visit the iTunes download page. Click Download Now to download the iTunes installer. When prompted, click Save (instead of Run).
did not get a save instead of run prompt
Right click on iTunesSetup or iTunes64Setup (the installer you downloaded in step 3).
If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: Choose "Run as administrator."

  • Can't select boot disk after restart from Windows 7

I installed Windows 7 RC 7100 on the Mini a while ago and it is working now using the Apple drivers and an updated chipset driver from Nvidia... except:
When I restart the machine from OS X and hold the Option key I get the disk selection screen and I can boot into either OS. But, when I restart the machine from Windows 7 and hold the option key I do not get the disk selection screen and the machine boots into OS X. I have also encountered issues with the Bluetooth keyboard not being recognized after restarting from Windows 7, but this does not happen consistently and seems to occur mainly when I hold down the Option key.
Any suggestions for a fix, tweak or workaround? Thanks.

Are you using a wired keyboard?
Are yo saying that when you boot while depressing ALT it just tries to boot to Windows with not options or anything showing on the screen
    Try another keyboard

  • How do you change the format from Windows to Mac

Does anyone know how to change the format from Windows to Mac? When I first bought my iPod I had windows but now would like to change this. Also is anyone aware why some tracks pause for 2 seconds and then carries on.

Restore the iPod in iTunes for Mac. Restoring will erase and reformat the iPod's hard drive, reload the software with the Mac version and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to sync using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes

Before trying to remove try re-installing CS3 right on top of the current install.  Often re-installing Photoshop on top of itself fixes the install.  If it does be sure to apply the cs3 updates.

  • Scanner of HP 8500 A909g does not work after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10

After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and subsequent upgrade of printer software, the scanner functionality did not work. When I tried to uninstall the printer software I got the message "HP uninstaller has stopped working". After another upgrade of printer software the scanner was still not working. How can I get around this problem? Update:
I followed the instructions for a similar problem with Windows 8 on http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/Scan-doesn-t-work-on-Solution-Center-after-migrating-to-Win/td-p/2228367.After this, the scanning seems to work. Not sure whether it is possible to uninstall, though (don't want to try since it is working).

I had the same problem with my Officejet Pro 8600 All-in-One scanner, sfter upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer driver, the problem is solved. You can look up the model of your printer on HP's support site and download it from there. Apparently, not all printers are compatible with Windows 10. In that case, they recommend you buy a new printer. ;-)

Install software such as Paragon NTFS, or reformat it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or FAT32. Mac OS X 10.6.5 and newer can also read and write exFAT partitions.

  • MacBook Pro won't sleep in OS X after reboot from Windows (again!)

This problem originally occurred about a year ago and no solution was found then but after a time, it simply went away. Well, now it's back: after a reboot into OS X (10.6.7) from Windows (7 Ultimate 64 Bit), my MacBook Pro refuses to sleep until rebooted a second time, after which it behaves correctly again. The Console log reports the following message: "System Sleep prevented by active remote login session (600 second threshold)". I've disabled Growl and DropBox (possible suspects last time) to no effect, reset the SMC and PRAM, all the usual things. I've tried when connected to mains power or battery, on wired, wireless or no network at all and still the same problem. Sleep behaviour under Windows is correct. Hopefully the problem will eventually cure itself as it did last time but I would like to discover the reason and find out what this "remote login session" could possibly be. To reiterate, this ONLY occurs immediately after rebooting from Windows.

Tried repairing BootCamp in 7, no change, don't think there was anything wrong with it in the first place.
Here is a section of the log after reboot from BootCamp and it says "System Sleep prevented by active remote login session (600 second threshold)". This ONLY happens after a reboot from Bootcamp, after another reboot all goes back to normal. What could the "active remote login session" be?
    From log:
21/04/2010 23:08:56 kernel PM notification cancel (pid 16, configd)
21/04/2010 23:08:56 kernel IOPMrootDomain: idle cancel

  • Help! External hard drives lost formatting from windows!?!!

I have Windows installed on my macbook through bootcamp, and i was trying to get my external hard drives (formatted as HFS+) to connect through macdrive. I have 2 500GB WD firewire drives
anyway in the process windows did something and now my drives seem to be unrecognised in os x. I had disk management up in windows and a popup came up to do with the formatting of the drive (whether it was GUID partition table or Master boot record). I click GPT thinking that's what it was and it won't do anything anyway. Well boy was I wrong.
I don't exactly know what it's done, but now OS X won't recognise the drives and there seems to be a 128MB partition labelled disk2s1 that disk utility recognises. it won't allow me to run disk first aid on it at all. Photo link: http://img.hibalazs.net/uploads/b8a8fbef2d979644.jpg
So what can I do? The data is obviously still there but how can I restore the formatting on the drive so OS X will recognise it? Any help is appreciated.

Managed to fix the problem by finding the partition using TestDisk and then writing the partition map in pdisk. Worked like a charm, followed this guide: http://perrohunter.com/?p=technology/repair-a-mac-os-x-hfs-partition-table

  • Help needed upgrading from Windows 8 to XP for Conexant Sound Driver

I upgraded from Windows 8 to XP and got everything else working except for the sound. I have scoured the internet and tried many versions of drivers from windows 7 ones to XP ones with no success. I tried older driver´s version as well.  After a reboot there is no sound device loaded in the control panel for sound. I have a C845D-SP4327SL  model laptop. Does anyone have any process to make this work that is proven? Thanks

hi. if you want to that your sound device was in control panel after a reboot , here is only one solution for that, all you have to do is upgrade first  hdaudio bus controler. Driver must be copied first from computer with Vista os. if your xp is 32bit you have to copy this driver from any Vista x32 if  your xp is 64 bit then Vista must be x64 as well.  driver for forced upgrade through device menager you will find in any vista os  Windows--> System32-->DriverStore-->FileRepository-->hdaudbus.inf9689af2f
once copied that file from any computer equiped with Windows Vista , copy it on your desktop, next step go to the device menager  and find in system device tab 2 entries UUA High definition audio and update both by forced update. You have to point exactly where is located your driver copied from vista. after this update your sound device will be in the control panel and device manager always and permanent.
I had the same problem with my xp instaled on satelite p500 and only this solution solved my problem with disappearing sound device after reboot.
ps. if this solution help you please tell us about it.

  • Mega 865 don't recognize on first time a SATA HDD after shutdown from Windows

    Hi,
I have problem with a SATA HDD (Maxtor 300GB Diamondmax10) in MEGA 865 Barebone:
After I shutdown the PC from Windows when I turn on again the PC the HDD don't start on first time, I need to turn off the PC and turn on again and the HDD will start and recognize.
I tried to format HDD and reinstall Windows, to test the HDD with Maxtor Powermax utility and install the hard disk in other PC but the hard disk is ok. Last I turn on the PC without connect the SATA cable, only the power cable and the hard disk start properly every time.
I tried to upgrade BIOS to last version 1.30 and I make various configuration of BIOS and also I tried to replace SATA cable.
There isn't SATA driver in CD supplied by MSI (only Intel INF driver but no solve the problem).
I think that every time that I shutdown the PC will be stored a standby command in SATA controller that no permit to start the hard disk on first time.
I hope that you help me. Thanks.

That's right, at least for now.
I tried to imply that perhaps your particular type of HDD has some compatibility problem with the SATA ctontroller of Mega 895. Therefore my suggestion was to see if microcode/firmware updates are available for the HDD.

  • Can I recover my new hard drive shrinked after formatting errors?

Hi, I wanted to install a 500 Gb WD drive in a G4, but forgot about the size limitation. I copied the OS and apps using Target mode to a 75 Gb volume, and the empty volume was 390 Gb in size. When I booted, the large volume was only recognized as 52. Never mind, I had a program called Drive Genius which is supposed to allow resizing drives without erasing the contents which I had already copied back to the smaller volume. So I ran the program on the drive to make two partitions below 300 Gb. But this program made unrecoverable errors, and one of the new partitions was dead and gone. I tried everything, from repairing to erasing the whole drive, and I am now left with a 128 Gb drive and unable to recover the rest of it. This program does really a mess, it's the second time I try this and second time it jams a drive. The last time I could reformat it, but not this time. Do you have any suggestions? ...Or just sympathy for the dead drive? Thanks!
    Paul
I should add that there is an ACARD PCI 2x ATA 133 in the tower, so 300 Gb drives should be OK.

I am a bit confused. If the drive is plugged into the PCI card then it should work with 500GB. If it is plugged into the G4's native bus (which I assume is an older G4 with the 128GB limitation) then regardless of the number or size of the partitions it will only see 128GB of a drive. So where's this thing plugged into now?
I have only read about Drive Genius and resizing partitions. It's the kind of thing that I think if it works, great, but I want to have a backup of my drive before I try it.
I am not sure what is left of the drive contents after all the partitioning and formatting. You could try using an application such as [Data Rescue II|http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php] or [FileSalvage|http://subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?mainpage=product_info&productsid=1]. Both have free trial versions that let you see if the software will help before you decide to buy.
There is also this free tool which supposedly runs on OSX (Intel only? - not sure) and does recovery of popular media and Office files. [http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Download] I have no idea if it works and maybe you're tired of testing software on this drive by now.
