Driver incompatability - canon

I wondered if anyone has had any problems with the driver (to be downloaded) for a Canon MP150. My MacBook seems to have 'bugged out' twice now - causing the fan almost permanently to run at a very high speed due to heating up (90°+). The solution was/is to re-install the operating system. Mac has been rather taken aback by this problem (at one stage replacing the motherboard, RAM memory & new battery!! - problem still continued of course) until discovering/deciding that the only solution was complete re-install. Has anyone else had a similar experience???

If a reinstall does not resolve this, and Apple has already replaced multiple major hardware components, they may actually consider replacing the machine. This is at their discretion of course. I would advise contacting Apple support and asking to speak with a product specialist who may have further options to provide to you above and beyond what the first level of support can offer you.

  • How to install Windows 7 64 bit driver for Canon i9100 Printer?

When I try to install my Canon i9100 printer on my HP laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, Windows cannot locate a driver.  Visiting the Canon website, I find an update module for the Windows driver.  Canon says the printer MUST be installed using Windows Updater before their driver update can be installed.  I have tried everything, but I cannot get Windows to find a driver.  Windows Updater says that my computer is Up To Date.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you,
    David

    Hi Honeycutt,
The Windows 7 driver for your i9100 is only available from Microsoft through Windows Update.  Please try Microsoft's web page for assistance with troubleshooting this:

  • Can't use correct driver for Canon MF4140 USB printer shared by Windows XP

    Hi all,
I have a Canon MF4140 printer connected to my Windows XP desktop machine via USB. The printer is shared and I can see it over the network with my MacBook running OS-X 10.4.
I've downloaded the OS-X version of the printer driver from Canon, but I can't select it when adding the printer in OS-X, so I can't access any of the printer settings. I've selected the generic driver but that doesn't allow me to do double sided or 2-up printing.
Is this because the printer driver does not support network printing, as the printer doesn't have a network interface?

I guess this isn't clear on the iFelix page. To use any of the built-in network printing protocols on OS X, you must either have a postscript printer (postscript printers don't require a driver, just a PPD), or a driver that works with the CUPS system (a CUPS driver). So far, Brother is the only non-postscript printer manufacturer that provides CUPS drivers. For every other non-postscript printer, you need a third-party CUPS driver. Apple tried to get around this issue by including Gimp-Print drivers (open source CUPS drivers), but your model isn't in Gimp-Print. You can look around for other CUPS drivers, but Lexmark hasn't been cooperative with driver writers. Here are the CUPS driver sources:
    http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/
    http://www.easysw.com/printpro/
    http://www.printfab.net/
You may find it easier to share from OS X.

  • Where can I find a printer driver for Canon Pixma iP6600D? I have Mac OS 10.9.2

I have a great printer Canon Pixma iP6600D, still works great. I want to either download a printer driver or I want to learn how to transfer the driver from my Mac desk top. If I knew where to find the driver I could just manually transfer it from my desktop to my laptop.  Both are running maverick.
    Can anyone help me?

The last driver that Canon released for the iP6600D was v10.51 for OS X 10.7. You could try downloading and installing this driver via this link.
Note that the driver may not be digitally signed so Gatekeeper will block its installation. To get past Gatekeeper, you can right-click on the installer and select Open from the pop-up menu that appears. You will then be given the option to install the driver.

  • Printer driver for Canon MP730

i am am totally fed up with my HP 8500 officejet printer (paper jam all the time). I want to start using my older printer (Canon MP 730) again in combination with an iMac running on OS X Yosemite
DId anyone find a printer driver for a Canon MP 730 that works properly with an iMac running on OS X Yosemite?  I am only using the printing and scanning function of  the Canon MP 730 (do not use the fax).

The MP730 was released in 2003 and support ended in 2010. The last OS X driver that Canon released was for Mac OS X 10.6 and this will not install on Yosemite.
So your options are Gutenprint v5.2.10, which is free, or PrintFab, which costs €49.
Note that Gutenprint v5.2.10 is not digitally signed for Yosemite so its installation will be blocked by Gatekeeper. To get past Gatekeeper, right-click on the Gutenprint installer package and select Open from the pop-up menu that appears. Now you will get the option to install.

HOW CAN I FIX MY PIXMA CANON WITH OUT THE CD

  • Missing raw file driver for Canon S90

I miss raw file driver for Canon S90. The software delivered with the camera works, but it doesn't work in finder, Aperure and so on, just in Canons own software. When will the driver be available for SL?

Apple hasn't said anything about it, but they're always quiet on everything (I think this works to their advantage for new products, but it works to their detriment for product updates.)
Anyway, they recently released the latest Camera RAW update and surprised a lot of people by not including the S90. Adobe had problems with the S90 -- images would "load" but looked poor. I can only guess Apple also had problems and decided to push it to a later date rather than hold up the whole stack of RAW camera updates people had been waiting on (typically they release an update with support for a list of cameras).

  • After upgrading to Maverick I can print from Canon IR5050. Downloaded new driver from Canon site with no luck.

I can not print from Canon IR5050 after installing Maverick. I downloaded new driver from Canon with no luck.

I'm almost completely certain that the scanning feature worked before the update. Having said that though, I don't scan a great deal and it may be the case that when I have done, the printer was directly connected to the MBP. However, since I have a laptop it's far more logical that I would have had the printer connected to Airport Express for reasons of portability so I can't really see that I would have had the printer connected directly to the laptop. Besides this, I have no memory of having this problem previously. Therefore, I don't think my memory is to blame although of course, if it were I'd have no way of knowing!

  • No "Fiery Features" with latest driver from Canon only "Printer features".

No "Fiery Features" with latest driver from Canon only "Printer features".  iRC5235's using 'OSX installer PKG'.  Installation completes successfully.  Can successfully add the printer(s).  Just cannot access the "Fiery Features" just "Printer Features".  Other users are working fine.  The driver is "Canon iR-ADV C5200s-B2 PSV10US".  Already have removed, restarted and reinstalled numerous times - no progress.  It should be noted that this user may print to the devices, just cannot access any of the "Fiery features" which are desired.  Any thoughts?  Thank you in advance for your assistance.

If the user is only getting Printer Features, then it would suggest that the wrong PPD is being selected when the printer is being added. For example, the PPD's for the internal Canon board will show Printer Features in print dialog. So while you mention the B2 driver is being used, are you sure it was selected when the print queue was created?
To check, you can open System Information (Applications > Utilities) and select Printers in the left column. Then in the top right pane, select the iR ADV C5235 with the B2 attached. The bottom right pane will give information about the print queue. The entry PPD will show which PPD is being used and it should show as you have shown above, ie "Canon iR-ADV C5200s-B2 PSV10US".
If the correct PPD was selected then another possible cause is a problem with the Fiery Features plugin. Via Finder, navigate to
    /Library/Printers/Canon/PS3/PDEs/EF005626
and check that you have the file "EF005626(FF).plugin". This is the Fiery Feature plugin. If it is present, then maybe this user is having access issues to this folder/plugin.

  • Display driver incompatibility

    Hi, Premiere Elements Folks,
I've been using PreE for a month and it's been going very well, if a little slow with my 2G of memory.  Yesterday on opening the program I started getting a new "display driver incompatibility" warning that I hadn't seen before.  Worse is that my project preview no longer works.  I see that there are a number of these incompatibility questions here on the forum, but they all seem linked to the specific OS and video card involved.
Here are my details if anyone out there can help me:
    PrE 11
    Windows 7
    video card: GeForce 8400M
    laptop: Dell Vostro 1500
I did update my video driver from the NVIDIA site this morning.
Thanks much to anyone with an idea of what I should try.

I tried an older version of the same driver.  I didn't uninstall first.
It didn't work.  How important is uninstalling?
The importance of uninstalling will depend on the exact drivers. If I were rolling-back, I would uninstall any newer driver, as pieces of it can be left behind with a simple overwriting installation.
With my nVidia FX 4500 Quadro, most driver updates (going from older to newer) are just a download and install, but there were two, where I had to uninstall the earlier driver first. There was also one, where I had to make some adjustments to settings in my nVidia Console, BEFORE installing the newer one. Even for the same card, I have had to do things essentially three ways, but nVidia provided exact instructions on what needed to be done, and I just always read those instructions, as they can differ, driver version to driver version.
I also keep copies of older drivers around, as sometimes, new drivers are broken, upon release, and rather than wait a month, until the new one comes out, I need to be able to roll-back, and get work done.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Windows 7 64-bit driver for Canon Digital Rebel XT

How do I interface my Canon Digital Rebel XT with a computer running Windows 7 64-bit?

You are correct.  Canon does not provide a driver for Windows 7 64-bit.  You have to change the communication mode in your camera and then use Windows Photo Gallery or other software to transfer the photos.  Here is the response that I received from Canon tech support (it works):
"To connect your camera to a Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer, you'll need to change the communication mode.
To set your camera up for this, please do the following:
With the camera disconnected from the computer, turn the camera on.  Press the "Menu" button.  Now select the [Wrench, Hammer, 2] tab.  Scroll down to "Communication" and press the "Set" button.
Select the [Print/PTP] and press "Set".  This process is more completely described (and illustrated too!) on page 121 of your Digital Rebel XT Instruction Manual.
Now connect your camera to your computer and turn the camera on.  Your computer should now recognize and have access to your Digital Rebel XT.
Unfortunately, Canon software cannot communicate with the Rebel XT when operating in this mode.
You may download your pictures using Windows Photo Gallery, or you may use a card reader to download images.  If you haven't already done so, you may retrieve and install this program from Microsoft's download.live.com."
