Driver issue causing new update not to finish

I tried to update to IOS 8 last night on my iPhone 5. The drivers on my laptop have been messed up since I changed the hard drive in early 2014. iTunes on my laptop does not recognize my device due to the compatibility issue between the drivers so I haven't been able to sync it to iTunes in some time. I have tried every troubleshooting tip I can find online to try to get this to work and so far, no luck. Can I log into my account using someone else's iTunes to finish the sync? If so, will it delete all of their information or any of my information?

I recommend you make a reload of the BlackBerry OS Link

DVD Drive issues, plays CDs but not DVD data or regular - Satellite (unknown series type)

I tried to update the firmware but ran into some strange issues. First of all according to google, the drive is manufactured by Panasonic. Toshiba doesn't make their own drives? For this reason I wonder if it is improperly detecting the drive make/model.
Anyways I downloaded the firmware update for it, version 1.03. It is a MAT**bleep**A UJDA760 (going from memory, model may be slightly diff like UDJA). When I run the firmware update it doesn't detect the drive at all and says it is for a THINKPAD?? Weird...
Also, if you have a link to a guide for removing this drive I would appreciate it. I want to verify that windows is detecting the model/maker correctly. It is not one of the simple hotswap types, it looks like I have to remove at least the entire bottom of the laptop.
I am working on this for a client, I do tech repair on craigslist but my laptop hardware expertise is limited most of my experience is with desktops.

Typically if the optical drive can read CDs but not DVDs (or vice versa), there has been a hardware failure of the DVD or CD circuitry. Drivers/firmware aren't going to solve the problem, only replacement of the drive.

Issue with new Update K900

I downloaded and installed the most recenrt update for my K900 (Internal Version Number: K900_ROW_1_S_2_009_0131_130727). After updating, the contact manager keeps on stopping. There is some problem with the new update.

I updated to 727 too, data is intact but settings affected.
Could determine only 2 changes.
Removed: Option for Animation & other settings for Magic Weather has been removed.
Added: Knock to Light feature added but works only when knocking twice on the lower central part of the display where the default lock screen buttons are located.
Dint find any performance improvement or degradation.
Other existing issues faced with my K900:
1) Call drop on every other call.
2) Wifi signal drops to 1 bar when touching any part on the rear of the phone, when placed on any surface, signal is full.
3) Time in notification bar is incorrect and am unable to change it while the weather widget displays the correct time.
4) Speaker not loud enough to be used a speakerphone while on phone call or skype video.
5) Despite disabling vibration time & again, it keeps getting enabled all by itself.
Has anyone else faced the above issues?

Issues with new update

I guess I'm not the only one having issues since the recent update to the iPod Touch (2nd gen). Not only am I experiencing the same wi-fi issues that everyone else is talking about, but also having problems with my mail client (accessing my gmail account). Lately the mail client is doing several things it didn't do previously, like adding "messages" to the inbox that aren't really there, and not marking other messages as having been read, even after I know that I have read them (and have stayed looking at them for well over 5 seconds, like say 30 seconds or longer). The email client is no longer behaving correctly since this new update. I wish there was a way to undo the update. . .this update is turning out to be a very disappointing mistake on the part of Apple.

iOS4 upgrade gives me a podcast porblem. I have a 2nd Gen Touch for nearly 2 years. I have many podcasts downloaded. I produce my own and if I have ONLY 1 (my lastest) downloaded from iTunes, I can play it on the Touch. BUT if I download 2 or more ( of my own podcast that I produce & publish) I cannot play it. When I tap it to play, after about 4 secs, the touch goes back to the top menu - where all the icons are displayed. Tried most other podcasts I have and they play. JUST my own produced podcasts ?? Go figure. Never had this problem in the 2 years.
Any one else with this one ??

New update not allowing autoplay from URI

Hello. We are a group currently developing a spotify app, and we were making use of the fact that you could send a URI to the browser and that song would autoplay from the desktop client. This is no longer possible with the new update, as it just finds the song and doesnt start anything. I hope this is a bug. The song will not start even though nothing else is playing either.
Open.spotify.com always just opens the web player, so that is of no use as well in the app we are making.

What is this for a stupid decission to cancel the autoplay functionality? Currently autoplay is not working! There must be the following in: - Open Spotify through a playlist link: Option in the URL for autoplay or just open the playlist- Open Spotify without a playlist link: Option to autoplay the last playlist If this will not be implementes ASAP I will look at Apple Musich and other like Deezer! Spotify is such a great tool, but what you have done here by killing the autoplay functionality was a step back into stone age !!

Try this ....
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Not empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Try a Flash based video.

Massive Stability/Usage Issues With New Update [1.0.9.113] on Mac

Hello! So I'm new here, but a longtime Spotify user. Honestly, I have been left unimpressed and in fact quite annoyed with recent updates. Today, however, marked the first update that has rendered Spotify essentially useless on my Mac. Beyond features, this new app struggles to play a single song... on an app... designed solely for playing songs. The track length (thing at the bottom showing current place in the song) is behind by *minutes* in some songs. The play/pause button lags by about 10-25 seconds between pressing the button/spacebar and getting a response. Moving songs between playlists by clicking and dragging has become very difficult because of lagging. Just overall, a much less stable app has replaced an at least mostly stable, usable one on my computer. Is there something I'm missing? Or something I need to do, or just hold out until a new update and hope that the stability issues are resolved?

The latest Spotify version 1.0.9 works great for me.
Usually when there are problems like this, a clean reinstall of Spotify can fix the problem.

When you open up the app, click the search icon and search for Spotify and it will automatically find and delete all files on your computer related to Spotify.

Why does the new update not recognize my new charger that i bought for my iphone ? it worked before but not anymore !!!

i recently bought a new charger 2 months ago at best buy . (black friday sale) ! it worked so perfectly fine until today . i guess it's the new update ?! i don't really like it because the charger is a really good one . my warranty expired in december , and my charger burnt out like the other two chargers i had ....

Apple tried making it so iOS only allows "made for iPhone devices". You will have to get a different cable in order for it to work again.
If you need just the USB section of it, amazon sells a nice cable, for a few bucks less than apple and it is a lot better made.

Ge force 314.22 video driver issue with new desktop

I bought my Envy Phoenix h9-1340t new from HP in January. A month and a half ago, I updated the video driver from Nvidia's website and the video card stopped working correctly. I contacted tech support. They had me disable all my Windows Drivers and had me run the computer in selective startup. The video card then worked and they said the problem was fixed. I told them this did not seem to be a solution to me so they sent me a new video card. That did not fix the problem. I was told to send the pc back to HP for a repair. I just got it back today and I saw the only thing they did was replace the video card again. I contacted HP and they said the problem was with Nvidia's driver and told me to only update the video driver through HP. I registered with Nvidia and posted my issue. The feedback was unanimous, the issue lied with the configuration with my computer and not Nvidia's driver. Could someone please help me out with this issue?

Hello again pinktoe.
If using selective startup allowed the drivers to work properly then there has to be something in that list causing you problems. You need to determine what exactly is causing the issue. I suggest trying the following.
Press the Windows+X keyboard combination.
Select "Run."
Type "msconfig" and press Enter.
Start by using selective startup to boot without services or startup items. However, only select one.
Save the changes and reboot the notebook.
If the problem persists go back to msconfig and re-enable the disabled item. Disable the other item, save your changes, and reboot again to verify that the issue does indeed disappear through this option.
If the issue disappears when disabling the services you'll want to try the following.
Select the Services tab.
Check the "hide all Microsoft services" box in the bottom left.
Disable all services.
Re-enable the first 5-10 services, save the changes, and reboot the computer.
If the problem returns then you know it is one of these services and you can continues disabling the enabled services until you find the culprit.
Repeat as needed until the culprit is discovered.
Post the result.
If the issue disappears when disabling the startup items you'll need to repeat the same process.
Once you determine which item(s) are causing the issue make sure to post the result.

Hard Drive Issues (Both new and old)

I'm trapped in a HDD nightmare with my MacBook Pro mid-2012.
I updated to Yosemite 10.10.3 (with the Photos app). A couple of days after the update, I was watching a movie on my TV screen via HDMI. In the middle of the movie I removed the HDMI cable from the MacBook Pro and everything freezes. I forced shut down (Note: My HDD was encrypted). After I forced shut down, I tried to turn on and the loading screen would never stop loading - like, 14 hours stuck with the progress bar. Since I have backups, I decided to access DU and format my HDD. I tried everything. For real. Every command line I could type on Terminal to format, repair, erase and/or partition. I read almost every issue-related questions on the forums and stack exchange groups for a week (even posted my issue here: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/181090/erasing-and-partitioning-hard-dr ive-from-internet-recovery?noredirect=1#comment215695_181090).
So, I decided that it was a HDD failure and bought a new one.
I bought the Seagate 1TB SSHD Hybrid - ST1000LM014. Installed the new fresh disk and guess what? All those same problems again. I´m not able to restore from Time Machine because it doesn't recognize the disk in the restore page. But the disk is recognized in the DU. When I try to erase or partition the new SSHD, the same old errors: File system formatter failed. Yes, I tired GUID Partition Table, all of the security options, etc.
Please. Any light that you can throw at this issue, I'll be very grateful for. BTW, the new SSHD is recognized and the SMART Status says: Verified.
Any ideas on *** is going on?

Booted from my external HDD which contains Time Machine Backups. In Utilities I opened Terminal and typed:

DVD RW Drive Issues from New iTunes download

I just downloaded the new version of iTunes 6.0.5.20 and now everytime that I start up my computer the DVD RW drive opens up by itself. Also, whenever I try to press the button to open it during normal computer operation, it does not open.
Any help with this would be great and I would appreciate it, thanks.

Hard drive issues with new imac 27 inch empty space being eaten up

Hi There
I have been having a strange problem with my new imac . Ever since i got it the hard drive has been making sounds even when i have not been using the computer . It sounds as if it is loading a file . I looked at disk activity in activity monitor and it showed that the disk was being written to every few seconds . Then out of curiosity I did a get info on the disk and happened to notice that every few seconds approximately 500k gets written to the disk .
Can I some how track these writes , to determine which process is causing them?
Can't imagine it being a virus since it's been happening since i took it out of box .
Any ideas ?

If your machine is brand new, it could be Spotlight indexing your drive. If so, it's nothing to worry about and it will subside soon.

About:blank issue causing Flash update to crash my IE9

I don't understand your interface - I have asked this question three times now. Anyway, I need to know what to do ASAP. After updating Flash, as your window asked me to, it's now crashing IE9 and says something about the 'about:blank' causing some problem. I am not a techie so PLEASE tell me what to do.

Do you crash on all websites? What happens if you go to this page: Flash Player Version
If you uninstall Flash Player using this utility: http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe does Internet Explorer stop crashing? Flash Player itself should not be complaining about "about:blank". You might want to run a malware scanner such as the free version of MalwareBytes.

Possible Network Issue causing HTTP page not found error

We have a client who is getting a page not found error that
only occurs within their local network. They have tried to access
the site from outside their network and it works fine. They are the

I've seen this caused by split-view DNS or firewalls.
