Driver issue with DVD SW820

I am not sure what happened to my drive / driver but here is the issue.  My drive showes up in the divice manager and in the properties it showes a Code 39 "Windows cannot load load the divice driver for this harware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)  {Unable to Load Device Driver} %hs dsvice driver could not be loaded.  Error Status was 0x%x"
I have tried uninstalling (not physically) and re-scanned for it.  It comes right back up with the same issues.  I tried using the Windows drive update process as well as downloading and running the application from HP.  Nothing seams to be affecting it.
As background this was preinstalled in my machien but I did at some point remove the SATA conection to test a hard drive I had. But reinstalled it and I believe it had worked since then.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi:
Try each of resolution steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 at the link below.
One of them should resolve the problem.
#3 or #5 usually works but try #2 first as that is the easiest one to do.

No. You have no alternative but to plug it into a computer running iTunes and restore it.

  • Blue Ray Disk drive compatibility with DVD S Pro, Mac Pro

Ok, I'll make this an official question, where might I find info on BDR drive compatibility with DVD S Pro, Mac Pro, etc? I'm a little surprised that there doesn't seem to be much info available.
I can always use my Pioneer BDR-202 with a windows box, I have several, but I'm trying to get AWAY from them.
Any thoughts, links, etc. welcome, thanks
    Les

Blu-ray offers a level of interacivity that is not possible with DVDs, so it isn't just an different drive that you are getting with Blu-ray. Seeing how Apple didn't upgrade DVD SP with the new FCP Suite 2, it is reasonable to assume they are working on a separate Blu-Ray Studio Pro, that is going to be completely different than DVD SP. Adobe Encore's support for Blu-Ray is extremely buggy, so obviously moving from DVD programming to Blu-Ray programming isn't just a simple tweak to the code.
Apple doesn't pre-announce software they are working on so this is all guess work, but it is reasonable to assume that they are working on a Blu-Ray programming application. Be patient. Do you really have the money to burn on the bleeding edge of new technology? A single Blu-Ray burnable disc sells for $20. Two months ago the exact same disc sold for $45. Prices will continue to fall as things stablize.

  • Has anyone else been having hard drive issues with 13" MacBook Pro barely a year old?

Has anyone else been having hard drive issues with 13" MacBook Pro barely a year old?

    Yes, BUT...
... there are many problems that are really easy to eliminate by replacing the Hard drive, including ones that have nothing to do with actual Drive Hardware failure. These include corrupted install of Mac OS X, its EFI partition, clobbered partition tables, or the appearance of Bad Blocks in a critical area.
Any of these problems can sometimes be eliminated by re-initializing the entire drive and writing Zeroes, and re-installing from scratch. The trouble is, this process takes hours to complete, and is not guaranteed to be successful -- you may still need a new drive after all that effort.
I learned from my Plumber that consumers have no appetite for solutions that might work, and detest return visits for any related problems whatsoever. You or your friend may have had your drive replaced, not because it actually failed, but because the situation was troublesome, and the provider thought you would not tolerate anything less than a crisp, complete fix on the first attempt. And based on the cost of technician time, it may have even been cheaper that way.

  • Audio driver issue with my HP Compaq DC7800 Convertible Minitower

    Hello,
I am having an Audio driver issue with my HP Compaq DC7800 Convertible Minitower desktop PC.
A few days ago I have formatted my desktop PC and installed a new Windows XP Service pack 3. As I needed driver for my device I have managed to find all drivers except the one for my audio device. As I saw I have integrated audio on my motherboard, but drivers that I have found on a support site of HP (drivers download) none of them work and there are too many (I have also needed to download drivers for other devices form intel site but this is another issue). So, now I was hoping that someone can help me to find (finally) and install audio device so I can finish with installation process. I would be veeeeeerrrry thankful for that Thanks in advance.

  • DVD Drive issues with A700

     Hi there!
I am having problems with my DVD drive in my A700 machine. The drive is a Sony Optiarc DVD RW AD-7640S. When I put in in a disk I hear the drive spin but when I click to open the drive in My Computer it prompts to insert a disk and ejects the one in there, sometimes it will show two drives one as DVD and one as CD. I have tried many different types of disks as well as using the Lenovo Toolbox, which also asks me to insert a disk. I have removed the DVD drive in the device manager and reinstalled, the driver is listed as being Microsoft and up-to-date.
I have not been able to locate a different driver for this device even off of Sony's website the product is not listed. I considered a possibilty of a bad lens and wanted to replace the drive but notice that there is a seperate eject button in the casing of my machine, powered from the board. This DVD drive has the eject button to the far right and most that I am finding are off-center. Has anyone experienced this issue and believe it to be a driver problem and know where to get a driver? Or if I need to replace the drive can I use any notebook SATA drive or does it have to be this model because of the button in the casing?
                            Any suggestions are appreciated!

    hey kristin7522,
    welcome to the forums.
i do find it weird that in My Computer it shows two optical drives when clearly you only have one and thus i would like you to get into device manager and uninstall the current driver for the DVD drive.
this should then prompt windows to install generic drivers, let it do so.
    try again.
if this does not work, head over to http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=399423

  • Display and driver issues with Windows 7 on i5 MBP

    Hello-
I just purchased one of the i5 Macbook Pros, and set out to get Windows 7 working through boot camp. I did this on an older model (32-bit) previously with no problems.
This time around, installation of Windows worked fine, but I have had some trouble getting all the drivers working. The setup.exe program on the OS X DVD didn't want to run at all, I had to do a workaround from the command line that I found on a forum (otherwise I just got a response of "Bootcamp x64 is unsupported on this computer model").
Eventually I got (at least some of) the drivers to work, but there are still some issues.
After installing the drivers, things like brightness and two-finger clicking started working. A number of other things still aren't, though:
    - Display: My machine has a 1440x900 screen. But for some reason Windows refuses to go higher than 1280x800.
    - Network: No wireless at all. Windows doesn't detect any wireless capability, and only gets on-line via ethernet.
There may be other issues, but these are the big ones. Can anyone provide suggestions on what to do to get everything working?
    Thanks!

I just used winclone to move my Win 7 from my Core2Duo MPB to an i5 MBP and had to do a few updates and have eneded up in pretty much the same place as you. I won't bother installing from scratch. I'm guessing we just need to wait for some bootcamp updates for these new machines.
For those of you who are looking to migrate your bootcamp partition over, winclone made it easy - I followed the directions for resizing and Win7 boots, does a disk check, then installed many of the new drivers automatically. There are some drivers that are still needed however, wifi and video. I also so a USB driver issue but have to look at that a little closer before I comment.
    Best of luck,
    Simon

  • Playability Issues with DVD's in Set-top Players

One of the problems that users often encounter is that a DVD-Video disc will not play in a stand-alone player. Often, these will play in a multi-drive on a computer, through a software player. What is the reason?
Well first, that disc is not really a DVD-Video, per se, but is a DVD-ROM, as it was burned, and not stamped from a glass master in a replication house. All DVD players are certified to play any replicated DVD, regardless of whether it is a DVD-5, or a DVD-9. None are certified to play any burned DVD, regardless of type (+R or -R), or any configuration, DVD-5 or DVD-9. Most will, given certain criteria, but some just will not.
The best that one can do is to use top-quality blank DVD media. This is the biggest cause of issues with playability in set-top players. The issues can be hangs, skips, dropping of Audio or Video or plain failure to play. Verbatim, Falcon Pro, or Taiyo Yuden are about as good as it gets. Brands, such as Memorex, TDK, recent Ritek and any store brands are to be avoided. Most will use the cheapest possible media and just rebrand those to their logo. A spindle of 100 might have blank discs from 4 different mfgrs.
Another consideration is to use a slower burn speed, rather than the fastest possible. One limit with PrE is that it will take an average of the speed of the media and the burner, and choose the fastest possible burn speed. The best that one can do is to buy the slowest media possible, say a 4x, rather than 16x media. A workaround is to Burn to Folder, and then use a burning utility, like the free ImgBurn, and then choose a speed in the middle/lower-middle of the range. ImgBurn will also tell you who the mfgr. was for your blank media, and the lot number.
The Burn to Folder is a good way to test a Project, as you would then do a test with a DVD software player, checking for errors. A second approach is to use a DVD RW disc (for testing ONLY and NOT for delivery), and test in several set-top players. One 10-pack should last for years.
Last, in years past, the type of blank media, +R or -R made a bigger difference. Most newer set-top players are much more lenient regarding type, but older ones still can pose problems, if the other type is used. Most BD players will handle either just fine, when playing a DVD.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Video Driver Issue with a T61p

    Hi,
We have an issue with the ATI driver, crashes the laptop, and only resolution is to repair Vista with a Vista DVD.
T61p is hooked up to an advanced dock, and using the dual display (mirrored).
Would like to know which driver works best with Vista and an advanced dock.
    Andre

    Hello again pinktoe.
If using selective startup allowed the drivers to work properly then there has to be something in that list causing you problems.  You need to determine what exactly is causing the issue.  I suggest trying the following.
    Press the Windows+X keyboard combination.
    Select "Run."
    Type "msconfig" and press Enter.
Start by using selective startup to boot without services or startup items.  However, only select one.
Save the changes and reboot the notebook.
If the problem persists go back to msconfig and re-enable the disabled item.  Disable the other item, save your changes, and reboot again to verify that the issue does indeed disappear through this option.
If the issue disappears when disabling the services you'll want to try the following.
    Select the Services tab.
Check the "hide all Microsoft services" box in the bottom left.
    Disable all services.
Re-enable the first 5-10 services, save the changes, and reboot the computer.
If the problem returns then you know it is one of these services and you can continues disabling the enabled services until you find the culprit.
Repeat as needed until the culprit is discovered.
    Post the result.
If the issue disappears when disabling the startup items you'll need to repeat the same process.
Once you determine which item(s) are causing the issue make sure to post the result.
    Have a good day!

  • Commentary, Audio & Burning Issues with DVD-9

Hi. I have a collection of problems here that sprouted up when building and formatting a dual-layer disc. I have a feature film with two commentaries on top of the normal audio track. If you hit play on the main menu, I specified A1 (which is the normal track) and it goes to two .jpegs (FBI Warning & Interviews/Commentaries Disclaimer) and then plays the movie.
If you go to the Special Features menu, you can hit two play buttons with each commentary specified to them (A2 & A3) the two .jpegs appear and then the movie plays.
This works fine in the simulator but when I build the disc and play the VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folder in Apple's DVD Player, this doesn't work. A1 is what is heard (I have to manually select the commentary audio tracks in DVD Player). I tried bypassing the .jpegs and have the commentary buttons go straight to the movie and this works when I build and play in DVD Player. I wouldn't prefer to do it that way. So if there's a solution it would be appreciated.
My second issue is more related to audio encoding. But I'm not sure if this is a Compressor issue or DVD SP4 issue. I encode the audio from .AIFFs or audio from .MOVs into Dolby .AC3 files. The settings in Compressor is:
    http://www.underlibertymovie.com/Compressor_Settings.png
The audio sounds fine in the simulator, however when I build the disc and open in DVD Player, the audio levels are all over the map. Whenever something is bassy (low frequency) happens, the audio levels are dropped and then gradually raises to normal level. So whenever the bass drum hits in the soundtrack or explosions, this sounds really strange. I'm sorry if this is solely a Compressor issue but I thought I'd give it a shot.
And thirdly, this is a dual layer DVD-9 at 6.6 GBs of data. I've set a valid layer break point as far as I know and have tried to burn several times. First I had Memorex DVD+R DL media and it would write the lead-in, start the first bit of the image, then abort and say "The device reported an error: Unknown device" and then there was an error code that I can't recall (something like 00x 04x)
After finding out that Memorex is not a reputable brand, I had my partner drive quite a ways to find DVD+R DL Verbatim discs (which is what people were consistently recommending) and the same problem occurred. I also noticed afterward that both brands are ReWritable discs. The Memorex discs didn't specify this but my Mac said it was. I can burn another DVD and get the exact error message if that helps.
Sorry for such a long post, but I'm at a loss with these issues. Thanks.

    Hi Logimec,
If your playback requirements are as simple as you say, here is an option
that will work with no scripts.
Have your FBI and commentaries as one short vid track and create 3 stories
name the 1st "... A1", the next story as "...A2" then another for A3.
in the story inspector, general tab, DISABLE all other audio options except
the one which coresponds with the desired audio content, you must do this
even if they have no audio to go with them.
then create 3 stories for your feature track named "...A1,2,3 (same as earlier)
and again, enable ONLY the audio track you wish presented.
select the buttons, one at a time for each option and look to the "Button inspector, advanced tab, streams option"
and select the audio stream you wish presented.
Needless to say you must also RE-target your buttons to the desired story
line and not the main tracks.
you must be sure that the end jump from the warning to the feature goes to
    the coresponding story/audio option, A1 to A1, A2 to A2, etc.
I also recommend you look in the help manual under "Setting the dual layer direction" "OTP & ATP" it may help you improve the delay at your "Break Point"
    Hope this helps,

  • PDF issue with DVD Stu Pro

    Hello,
I wish to add a PDF that opens automatic with DVD@ccess.
I've made a menu with only text and a back button, in the options pane I've added a url in the @ccess pane:
    file:///CINDERELLA/techsheet/cinderella.pdf
    My disk name: CINDERELLA
The DVD folder is CINDERELLA and contains the _TS folders + "techsheet" folder
    the pdf file: cinderella.pdf
It doesn't work in the simulate or in DVD Player after a build....

Do a quick search for DVD@ccess there are many issues and possible workarounds,

Usually the easiest way is just to make a menu saying there is content in a DVD-ROM folder on the DVD that people can browse to and open

  • Driver issue with GTX470 and GTX570 in CS5.03

So we have two different video cards as we can't find the GTX470 easily anymore.
Both computers when the video card driver is updated to a newer version the video is displayed weird.
The rest of the hardware is the same on both computers Core i5 3.3ghz, 8gb ram, msi motherboard, and RT.X2 matrox card.
This also happens on Preview and Program as well, unless the video is stopped, but while playing it always does this.
I was able to fix the problem by going to an older version of the drivers. The GTX570 is using 275.33, and the GTX470 is using 280.26.
I haven't really had too much time to mess around with the video drivers on the GTX570 as I needed to get the computer up and running ASAP so I just grabed an older driver off of nvidia's website. Which is the reason the GTX570 drivers are older than the GTX470.
Now is this an issue with the RT.X2 card or something with premiere?
The GTX570 system is a clean install.
I manually added the GTX570 to the cuda support list in order to get it to work on CS5.03

The problem lies with Matrox itself: Matrox has never provided bug-free drivers to begin with. Every single driver release from them fixed one problem but created a new problem - and yet they still failed to fully fix the same problem that plagues their drivers for ages.

I can see you're experiencing driver issues.  I'd like to help!
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
