Driver prioritization - determine contradictory drivers

Hello community.
we recently came across a nice demand of customer.
first, we entered the drivers. then coming to the prioritization, we made the process of per to per analysis and at the end, the system tells us that :
Warning: The driver comparisons have a low consistency ratio.
One or more driver comparisons are contradictory, which can lead to important projects being left out of your portfolio analyses. See an example below that shows driver comparisons with a low consistency ratio.
then, the customer want sto know where the contradiction is.
this is where I will need your help! Do you have any idea iditenfying what drivers priotization is contradictory?
I tried extrating the information in an excel but it doesn't help.
thanks!

After running bootcamp, DVD drive is detected by Windows 8. But after installing drivers, no longer can detect. Device Manager shows that DVD drive is unplugged! Drivers in Bootcamp “removed” the DVD drive. I think there is an issue because I reinstalled Windows 8. If I don't install driver, then I have reduced functionality (no Apple keyboard, no sound etc), but once I install driver, I lose my DVD drive.

Hi, guys, I have had the exact same problem since the summer of 2010. Here's what I was able to find out.
Deleting upper/lower filters, running all those Fix Ya programs and other Microsoft crap is useless. This problem is most certainly has nothing to do with registry of any software on your computer. I took my HP 9620us to a couple of repair places and, they tried a lot of things and it appears that the root of this problem is a faulty motherboard connection. Of course, it costs about 400 bucks to fix it so I'm not sure I want to pay this kind of money.
Anyway, if somebody was able to fix it PLEASE post here to let us know. Again I am 99 per cent sure it's some piece of hardware in the motherboard.

Welcome to the Oracle VM Server for SPARC installer.
You are about to install the LDoms Manager package, SUNWldm, that will enable
you to create, destroy and control other domains on your system. You will
also be given the option of running the Oracle VM Server for SPARC Configuration
Assistant (ldmconfig) to setup the control domain and create guest domains.
If the Solaris Security Toolkit (SST) is installed, you will be prompted to
    optionally harden your control domain.
Oracle VM Server for SPARC Configuration
Once installed, you may configure your system for a basic LDoms
deployment. If you select "y" for the following question, the Oracle
VM Server for SPARC Configuration Assistant (tty) will be launched
following a successful installation of the packages.
(You may launch the Configuration Assistant at a later time with the
command: /usr/sbin/ldmconfig, or use the GUI Configuration Assistant
which is bundled in the Oracle VM Server for SPARC zip file - see
    README.GUI for more details)
    Select an option for configuration:
    y) Yes, launch the Configuration Assistant after install
    n) No thanks, I will configure the system manually later
    Enter y or n [y]: n
Given the capabilities of the LDoms Manager, you can now change the
security configuration of this Solaris instance using the Solaris
    Security Toolkit.
Select a security profile from this list:
    a) Hardened Solaris configuration for LDoms (recommended)
    b) Standard Solaris configuration
    c) Your custom-defined Solaris security configuration profile
    Enter a, b, or c [a]: a
The changes made by selecting this option can be undone through the
Solaris Security Toolkit's undo feature. This can be done with the
    '/opt/SUNWjass/bin/jass-execute -u' command.

OfficeJet 6500 E709a series.  Windows 7 64-bit.       Printer operates from Word, emails, Copy function. Two programs, Photoshop and Printshop, no longer print when directed to print.  Printshop says "Install a printer."  Print Shop has tasks in printer queue and won't print.  Hp Driver Wizard says,
The current full HP software is already installed for the selected printer but the basic functionality drivers appear to be missing or configured incorrectly.  Click Next.  After the click:     The drivers of your printer are disabled,  Click next to enable them.

    Hi there mandrelliott,
Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.

  • Installed a DVD drive in a G4 - drivers needed?

It doesn't seem to work. Full story below, branched from another thread. New problem, new thread, was my understanding of the idea.
I bought and (physically) installed a Pioneer 115 DVD drive, and tried the black retail Tiger disc. Nothing. Which is an improvement (the old CD drive would spit it out after 20 seconds).
Tried restarting holding 'c', then holding 'option' - again nothing. It just goes through to the user sign-in dialog then onto normal desktop.
Am I being completely dense here, or isn't there meant to be some sort of recognition that I've put a disc in?
Do I need to do some installation of the drivers?
Could the problem be because I bought the machine from a department in my university, and there might still be some network settings on it preventing my progress? Do I have to do something in account settings?

    Hi-
The drive should be recognized and functional as a reader.
    No drivers are necessary.
For full burning support, Patchburn is needed.
There is a Panther version and a Tiger version:
    http://www.patchburn.de/
Does the drive show up in the System Profiler/Hardware/ATA, and also in System Profiler/Hardware/Disc Burning?

  • Install LaCie LightScribe drive?  Yosemite compatible drivers?

    Mac Pro mid-2012 (model MacPro5,1)
    Yosemite 10.10.2
I have an older working LaCie internal LightScribe drive I'd like to install into the available optical drive bay on this Mac Pro.
    Specifically looking for information...
    1.  The LaCie drive has an IDE interface.  Which IDE to SATA adapter will work with this?  I see quite a few adapters on Amazon that are pretty cheap, but no mention of Apple/Mac compatibility.  Anyone have a recommendation for a specific converter verified to work?  What about the power connection?  I don't see a 4-pin power connection or cable in this Mac, just the standard SATA connectors.
    2.  I know HP discontinued LightScribe a couple years ago and took down their LightScribe website in 2014.  LaCie is still providing downloads for their software and drivers.  I'm not too worried about labeling software as there are a few choices out there for Mac that burn LightScribe.  I'm more concerned about the LightScribe drivers, last updated in 2009, still being compatible with this computer and/or Yosemite.  Anyone have any experience with this?
    3.  Alternatively, does anyone know of a decent internal LightScribe SATA drive that will work with my hardware/OS configuration?  I realize this might also be a problem since the technology was discontinued in 2013.
    Thank-you!

    SOFTWARE
I hooked up my LaCie LightScribe IDE drive to a universal USB adapter and installed the HP LightScribe drivers from this web-page. Through online research, I confirmed that this is the latest version available, and it's the same driver package previously distributed by LaCie and currently distributed by BeLight.
Using BeLight's Disc Cover (version 3.0.11) labeling software, I was successfully able to burn a LightScribe label.
So yes, the widely available HP LightScribe driver (version 1.18.27.10) works under Yosemite 10.10.2
    HARDWARE
Now the issue of hooking up the IDE drive to the secondary optical bay using the Mac's internal 22-pin female SATA drive cable.  The 2012 Mac Pro does not have any internal Molex connectors.
I found this IDE to SATA adapter card which would take care of the data bus utilizing a 7-pin SATA connection.
Then I'd need a female Molex power connection to hook into the drive.  The IDE adapter card also needs a mini 4-pin power connector, so this 15-pin SATA to Molex & 4-pin adapter seems to fit the bill to power both the drive and the adapter card from a 15-pin SATA power connection.   However, since the Mac's internal SATA connector is an all-in-one 22-pin female connector, I'd need a 22-pin male SATA connector that splits off the 7-pin and 15-pin connections separately.  Here's one that seems to have it all, 22-pin male SATA plus 15-pin and 7-pin female SATA along with female/male Molex and 4-pin power.
Now, assuming all these cables, adapters and convertors work, I'm looking at roughly $20 - 25 for all.
Unfortunately, nobody seems to provide a simple adapter or kit that will plug-in directly between the Mac's 22-pin female SATA connection and the IDE & Molex connections on the drive.
Considering the number of adapters chained together, their combined cost, and the age of my LaCie drive, I decided to just buy a brand new Sony LightScribe SATA drive on eBay for about $30.  Once I hook it up and test, I'll come back and post my results.

  • Do I need to format a New hard drive before Recovery & Apps/Drivers DVD? A15

    Greetings:
I just installed a new 80GB hard drive in my A15-S157 (Old I know, but works great for what I need it for).
I tried formating the new drive in an external enclosure on a different machine, but it always failed after noting format was 99%, even seemingly 100%, complete.
I downloaded and ran Western Digital (drive manufacturer) Data Lifeguard quick and extended tests, both came back no errors.
I used the "Toshiba Recovery and Application/Driver DVD, Satellite A15" disc that came w/the machine... everything seemsed to install just fine and XP boots right up.  BUT, I'm concerned that the format failure will come back to haunt me...
    The questions seem to be:
--Is there a problem with using the Recovery DVD WITHOUT first formatting the drive (or not having a successful format)?  Other posts seem to indicate the DVD might do a quick format itself (it was a very quick install)?
--Is it even possible to format a new HD in a USB external enclosure?  Perhaps this was the issue? (it was on an older Compaq desktop (XP), if it matters)
    Thank you!

Only OEM drives come that way.  Actual Retail drives come in a box with instructions, warranty card, installation disk, etc.
But that has nothing to do with this.  You only need to be concerned with what the instructions that came with the Recovery Disks or Installation disks say.  When you run Windows Install from an actual Windows Install Disk Windows will always bring up a partitioning and formatting option prior to the actual installation whether the drive is unpartitoned and unformatted or not.  This has been the case since the first Self Contained Windows came out (Windows 95).  It's been at least 15 years since one needed to partition and format a drive PRIOR to starting the actual Windows installation process.
Recovery Disks work in several different ways depending on the manufacturer.  One thing they have in common is that they are designed to work on new disks (unpartitioned and/or unformatted) as well as drives that already have an existing OS installed.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • HP 15 freezing and suspected driver issue but installed drivers!

Hi there! Ive been having this issue ever since I bought this computer! Sometimes the video goes haywire and freezes all scratchy sideways like. Then other times when it crashes I get this most infamous warning sign popping up before it reboots itself!! "system thread not handled atikmdag.sys" So I googled that and all kinds of things about drivers came up. So I tried everything I could understand and ya, should be solved but apparently its not so now Im here. How are you? I could be better, getting nasty urges to destroy this computer! Holding on for dear life, in a life raft, pls save me! Only crashes when Im watching some videos or got multiple windows open. Cant handle nothing I guess! Thought A8's werent that bad once upon a time. I even replaced the computer right after I bought it while it was still on warranty! Was having the same issue on the old I had. Normally a recovery isnt that hard for me to handle but that may have been a few operating systems ago.

  • Where can I find the driver for PCI-GPIB drivers for Windows XP

We have PCI-GPIB cards work well under Win2k Pro and WinME, but when we try to mount the card to a WinXP machine and install the same driver as used under Win2k, and whenever I try scan instruments in Measurement & Automation, the system crashes and dumps the memory.
Is there a specific driver for PCI-GPIB working under Windows XP? Thanks

    Hello,
I don't know what GPIB driver version you have but you can go to the following webpage in order to get the latest GPIB driver (version 2.0) available.

  • CD Driver or Creative Website Drivers plus..

Hi Guys,?Apologies if this has been covered already, couldn't find an exact answer through searching Forum. Is there a FAQ or Guide to doing a fresh clean?install & re-install? What's the best procedure for setting up a new Creative card? Is it best to?install drivers from CD, then update?via website or just go straight to website? And?lastly a?very stupid question but just curious?- I've noticed under?auto update that there are 2 MediaSource options?5.0.38 &?3.30.2 - why would that be? Surely the latest one should just be on there? Thanks?

Thanks Freesky,?Yes am using XP and did what you said and did a full Installation (did this also because when you do a custom install, then you don't get the creative console button in the system tray)....however, do I now just overwrite the creative drivers with the ones from the website, or is it best to do a custom uninstall, remove the WDM drivers?installed from CD?and then do a fresh?install of the latest drivers from net? Also - I've seen the Microsoft Update site also do drivers (dated June) which appear to be newer than creative's website - why is that and is that a better option?Cheers

  • Hard drive drivers for use with system repair disk

I've been through the mill with my Satellite A665 S6085...it started its life with a bad CD/DVD drive in the really dark customer service days and spent more of the first two months of life in the shop waiting for the arrival of a new drive than it did in my hands.  Then the CD/DVD failed just at the end of the warranty period (and Toshiba replaced it a second time very quickly, and without charge!)
Since then it has been working reasonably well, but within the last few weeks it has gotten really sluggish (it was taking about 20 minutes to completely power up), and last week refused to start at all (repeated start-up failures).  I created a system repair disk from another laptop we have, managed to get it to start up - but accompanied by an even more dramatic slow down.
I  was unable to create an image of the system, but I did manage in safe mode to copy all but about 20 unimportant files (whew!.), and was working on doing what I could to get it spiffied up enough to create a system image.  Unfortunately, in the middle of running the disk checking routine it hung.  It ran for about 20 hours and got to stage 4 (16% done the 23rd file) and stopped all activity.  (Prior to that time the drive light had been flashing on and off periodically - but when I had watched it with no activity for over an hour I did a hard power down . . . I know, bad idea, but it really did seem to be at a complete standstill).
It started once in safe mode then froze, and has not started since then.
When I boot from the system repair disk, the operating system doesn't come up - and the instructions are to load the hard drive drivers and try again.  So the immediate question is where the heck do I find the drivers since I can't power up to determine the hard drive manufacturer (and the drivers available through the driver download portion of the Toshiba site don't seem to do the trick)?
But I'd also welcome any hints as to how to get far enough along to at least get a system image before I give up and let the professionals handle things...

Hi ! You should have created a system image a long time ago I'm tired of this thread. You seem to know all about this so why even ask for help here on the forum Good luck friend. I hope you solve your problem. I don't think I can help you an further

  • Putting OS 9 Drivers Safely Onto A Hard Drive With Panther On It:

It does not have OS 9 drivers. I do not have any Panther CDs. or Tiger CDs. My hard drive enclosures have arrived and I got all the files organized and I put OS 9 drivers on 120gb Maxtor and also 20gb western digital that used to have Windows 98 on it...I put OS 9 drivers on that.
The only two hard drives that do not have OS 9 drivers is that NTFS formatted one, and also the hard drive with 10.3.9 only.
That hard drive is being used in an imac g3. Right now I only have two working imac g3s and nothing else works.
    =======
I am nervous about this, but can I take the imac2 hard drive out, temporarily put it in an enclosure, connect the enclosure to the imac1 with a hard drive containing OS 9 drivers & OS 9.2.2 & OS 10.3.9, log into 9.2.2, back up the entire "external" hard drive, erase it, put OS 9 drivers on it, and move the backed up files back onto it and also stick OS 9.2.2 on it also, take it out of the enclosure, and put it back in the imac2?????
Or should I buy OS X CDs??????????????
Is it possible to install with an external DVD drive?????????
Will the external DVD drive need a fire wire cable?????????
Can I buy a slot-loading DVD drive to put into the imacs???????????

OS 9 Drivers are installed prior to any other software, usually.
If a drive has partitions on it, installing drivers to only one of
these partitions may be possible, but they are on an OS 9
installer or on an OS X installer in the case of pre-10.5 OS X.
You can use OS9 as Classic, a non-boot use of system 9
under Mac OS X. This does not require OS 9 Drivers to use.
But dual-booting or booting OS 9 off a drive needs drivers.
If you are running an OS X version and have no installer disc
you essentially have no license to run it; and no way to be
able to maintain or reinstall the system correctly. You can't
drag & drop install Mac OSX. That requires clone utilities
in order to move a bootable copy of OS X (to external FW.)
Tiger being the last supported OS X version for Classic and
also for dual-boot computers which can support OS9 & OSX.
Panther install discs have a feature when the OS is first installed
to add those OS 9 Drivers; and an OS 9 installer also has the
ability to install OS 9 Drivers.
And in older iMac G3 computers, some did not get the required
Firmware update; so that would be installed with OS 9 running
the computer, installed on the hard disk drive.
Some vendors may still have replacement or upgrade optical
drives capable of booting an iMac G3 from an installer DVD.
Check OWC web page, or MCE, these offered drive upgrades.
So, unless you have an OS 9 installer, or an OS X installer with
the OS 9 Drivers install feature, getting those drivers is next to
impossible. Moving the hard disk drive around won't do it.
And having an OS X already on a drive, means you can't just
install OS 9 drivers that late in the game.
(But you can transfer files between Macs in several ways; one
with a FireWire cable, if the Mac you want files from is booted
into FireWire Target Disk Mode, it appears like an external drive
& the second Mac you want to drag a file into, is running normal.
No removing a drive to just get info from the Mac to another.)
You would need a FireWire cable for an external DVD drive, and
also for FW Target Disk Mode. The USB1.1 is way too slow for
using any external drive, hard disk or optical, with older Macs.
A bootable external drive would be FireWire, not USB 2.0 or 1.1.
For other transfers, you may need to get a special Ethernet cable.
    Good luck & happy computing!
