Driver probl

My computer was due for a reformat, but after doing so my speakers which were working perfectly fine before the format started giving me problems.
Spec:
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
Logitec Z-5300 5. Surround Sound
After downloading and installing the newest drivers i ran the Speaker Calibrator; In the initial "speaker identification" test every speaker except for my subwoofer are fine. When it checks for the subwoofer I can hear it over the center speaker as a low rumbling noise, followed by a brief 'beep', then it begins to cycle the sounds over the rest of my speakers.
Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on?

I have a tool called myZenChecker?to ensure that your operating system is the preferred one for your Zen players. If it still do not solve your problem, then you can post in forum for help with the report generated.

  • SB Audigy 4 Driver Probl

At least, I *think* it's a driver problem. Let me start from the beginning.
Just about every other time I start up my PC, my SB Audigy 4 (Retail) runs into a problem. That is, the nice Exclamation Point shows up, and it doesn't see it as a SB Audigy 4, but rather a "Multimedia Audio Controller" (MAC for short). So I uninstall the MAC, reboot (note, at reboot, it shows it as a Creative Soundblaster Audigy Audio Processor, still with the yellow exclamation point next to it, and still with (CODE 0) attached, and install the SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004.exe drivers. (Why, oh why does it only come in EXE format? What happened to the Good old days of .inf files?)
    Pic Follows:
    http://www.sglider.net/images/Audigy4uninstalled.JPG
I install, and everything goes well. I reboot, and my Sound drivers are there, so I can play my favorite games. But, the next time I reboot my PC, I'll have lost my Sound Drivers again --- though it doesn't happen every time, but I can't go more than 2 reboots without it happening again.
I'm really getting tired of reinstalling these drivers on every boot up. Does anyone have the skinny?
    My system details follow:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+ (333mhz Barton)
Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra Mobo (Via chipset - Newest Hyperion Drivers installed) - Motherboard updated.
    Ati Radeon X850XT AGP
    SB Audigy 4
    2 GIG PC2700 DDR SDRAM
Microsoft Windows XP Professional w/SP2 and all updates.
Thank you for your patience, and your assistance.

Thanks for that tip, that may make it so I don't have to do stupid things to get it to see the driver.
Next step though is to find a way to keep the Driver from mysteriously uninstalling or borking itself so I don't have to keep reinstalling it. Any ideas?

  • The Windows Vista driver probl

I can understand the frustration everyone has, but being frustrated doesn't really solve the problem now does it's? Many of you need to understand, that this is a new operating system and with any new operating system release, there will be issues and hardware problems until the third party developers are able to create working drivers for the hardware and software as well. Here's what makes creative look bad at the moment:?Creative is an extremely large company and they have been around for years. In fact, they were one of the first to market. Since... well.. I can remember as far back as Windows 3.x. You would think a company as large and advanced as Creative would have the research, money, time, developers, etc to be right on track with these drivers. Many other companies have pulled through for us. I have found drivers for all my hardware components except my Li've! 24-bit card. Well, I correct myself. I found drivers for this card on the creative website, but they were developed in 2005. Wait.... did I just say 2005? Hmm.
I thought about an alternate soundcard. I checked the Turtle Beach website, since I hear they make a good card. Unfortunately, there are no drivers available at all, whereas at least creative has released beta drivers. Perhaps it's just a pain to create drivers for Vista. Maybe some sort of bug in the operating system is complicating things. I duno. Is the problem vista or creative? ... wait a minute... let's go back. Last drivers released for my card was in 2005? hmm. And the drivers work if I go into F8 and disable drivers signature checking. I think the problem is Microsoft. They are trying to take over the world. We already should know that.

In Creative Labs' defense, the *only* reason EAX and direct access to the sound buffers were removed was strictly due to DRM and the wishes of Hollywood studios due to their irrational fears that everyone is a criminal until proven innocent.
But this was all known to every hardware manufacturer way back as early as WinHEC 2005 (about 20 months ago). Therefore, there is no excuse for not having non-beta drivers by now.
What?! You've got to be kidding me! DRM is causing us this trouble? OMFG. First DRM (Digital Rights Management, for those who don't know) keeps us from playing music by requiring licenses downloaded. Then, they make plans for "trusted computing" which will eventually require ALL video & audio to be approved before playing because they want to assume we are criminals and pirated the material. THEN the groundwork for Trusted Computing is put into Vista and now DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT IS KEEPING US FROM ENJOYING AUDIO IN GAMES, BECAUSE THEY WANT TO KEEP MUSIC TO THEIR GREEDY SELVES! DAMMIT!
Do you have any links discussing DRM & removal of the HAL (Hardware Acceleration Layer) from Vista? It would be an interesting read.
It certainly isn't Creative's fault for removal of hardware acceleration for most 3D games. Wow, it's the greedy Hollywood *******s... BUT, creative still should of had a more complete driver for release. They should of had CMSS working, bass boost & bass redirect options, etc!Message Edited by Cornflake on 02-2-200706:9 PM

  • Vista x32, Zen V and V+ driver proble

Have tried to install software, when registration asks for device to be connected, i connect. Windows detects as 'Creative Zen V', can't find a driver then lists it as an MTP device, and as a failure to install. The registration tool is no help. I have repeatedly gone to device manager and uninstalled the 'MTP device' and repeatedly reinstalled your software and redone every program I can find with creative. I have searched your knowledge base, no help. I have tried to hard search windows for the driver, and pointed the detection to creative folders, don t help. After EVERY failed installation, windows media and all creative software does not see the player (i have 2 an 8gig and gig, white and black)

I have tried the Microsoft hotfix - won t install, says not compatible with my system. Have Intel x64 chip, but vistax32, computer came that way. Can't update firmware as player never is correctly recognized.
Had a Windows XP machine before and eventually I got them to work. Why won't Vista find drivers Both players work fine and charge, they just won t synch to my new computer due to no drivers. My old XP machine went belly up (hardware issue) so that is no longer an option.
Repeatedly emailed Creative tech - NO HELP. Responses look like they NEVER read my thorough explanation and send me different form letters.
Frustrating, uninstalled and reinstalled probably 50 - 00 times.
    Please help.

    Would somebody help?
Many previous posts say to update firmware, can't as I no longer have an XP machine, besides I know I bought the 8gig well after VISTA was out, I think December 2007. No excuse for not having correct firmware.

  • Sorry: zen micro windows vista driver Proble

I agree, Vista is a disappointing product, considering the time MicroSoft had to work on it. :|
I hope that they'll release a Service Pack soon to address their lack of legacy device support.

  • Audigy 2 ZS driver probl

I've had a 2 ZS for a while now and?decided to reinstall?Windows XP after purchasing a much bigger hard dri've. After installing all system drivers (chipset, video, etc.)?for everything else on my system and running Windows update, I go to install the Audigy drivers and?it locks up my system /2?way though the install. The hard dri've light will stay light the whole time until it eventually reboots the computer and goes through the same process once Windows starts back up. It is basically a never ending loop. Now, I've had several Creative products over the years and have usually been able to deal with their buggy drivers, but this time I'm completely stumped on what to do. I'm on my 3rd Windows reinstall because of this problem and have tried just about everything I can think of short of?throwing?the card away and?heading over to Best Buy to purchase a Turtle Beach product.?Anyone ever run into this? Any suggestions?

BigBoss. From all the reading I did and the questions that I asked Creative, including using the X-Fi driver, the word from the top really is that it isn't recommended. It's just not a supported configuration. It may work, but I'm betting there may be some problems like your seeing now. I just downloaded and installed the latest drivers that do support the Audigy 2ZS card, and so far (knock on wood), everything seems to be working extremely well.
I decided to download the driver first and let the install do its thing. When it couldn't erase all the driver files, obviously because they were still acti've, I rebooted in safe mode and ran DriverCleaner Pro. It removed all the rest of the files. Rebooted normally and continued the installation. So far, as I've said, all is good! But I'll keep testing to see for sure. Good luck!

  • SB audigy LS driver probl

i have had this card for a while and it was working for almost a year untill last nightand it started saying this not just surround mixer but all of the programs and NOTHING that has sound is working...
---------------------------Surround Mixer---------------------------The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit.---------------------------OK --------------------------- i cant play any sound i have clean sweeped
i ran the diagnostics program and this says this..
    Hardware detection pass
    Wave driver fail
    midi dri've fail
    Mixer driver fail
    DirectSound 3D driver fail
    Mixer Settings check fail
and when i click fix it says this
---------------------------Creative Diagnostics---------------------------The current problem cannot be fixed automatically. Reinstall the software of your audio hardware to see if your problem can be solved.---------------------------OK ---------------------------i have spent fun hours uninstalling and reinstalling this.....
i have updated the drivers adn installed them with Creative's driver update program.
    what do i do?

I stumbled across this post while searching for a fix for my SoundBlaster Li've!. Basically everything worked fine under Win98. I upgraded to WinXP and the card appeared to be installed with no conflicts but I had no sound and I couldn't set a default playback device in "Sounds and Devices" because they were greyed out. I ran the Creative Diagnostic test and the Hardware test passed but all the driver tests failed.
I fixed this problem by going to
    Start > Control Panel > Administrati've Services > Services
Locate "Windows Audio" and make sure the service is started. If the service is not started right-click and select properties. Change the startup type to automatic and click start.
Hope this helps anyone who stumbles across this post while looking for fixes.

  • Creative L3500 Speaker system and Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard (I have a driver probl

Yes I have had a driver problem so i went to the download section of this site and picked up a driver program for my soundcard yet it doesn't work. When i do uninstall my soundcard (i need to uninstall current driver to install new driver)and i restart my comp after removing the old one i get sound, but i notice i don't get very good sound, not as good as my old before it stoped working. But then after i install new one it just doesn't work!
Please help me if you know about drivers!!!!
PS: I use windows XP and if you need any more info just request it from me.Message Edited by Nick345 on 02-28-200605:05 PM

JRe: Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Speaker issues not covered by FAQs0 I'm afriad that the CMSS3D option did not work? ? I still cannot get any speakers to play out of the rear of the soundcard.
As I said before, the goal is to try to get sound to play out of both the headset and the speakers attached to the rear of the soundcard simuntaneously.
The headset is plugged into one of those devices in the front that is in a 5 & /4" bay that has the individual knobs for adjusting volume for the headset and outbound levels for the microphone.
The speakers are plugged into the back of the soundcard and do not play any sound in any of the sockets, starting from the firewire port and counting 3 over.
Any suggestions? I? thought it might have something to do with the setting of the speakers from control panel - > Sounds and Audio Devices -> Advanced and picking the right choice there. No luck however. Same for the Creative Speaker Settings as well.
I'm at wits end and I'd be very thankful to whoever can resolve this for me. =)

  • MSI P6N Diamond Driver Probl

I recently was one of the brave few to order a MSI P6N Diamond motherboard. This board is only few months old if that, and of course all the drivers and bios for this board are buggy. One thing I should note about this board is if you disable the IDE controller, your cpu voltage will shoot up to .7 volts( stock is .3) and if your lucky , fry your brand new E6600 chip. (NOT COOL)?Besides that fun I will get to the point. I could of cared less about the onboard X-FI , but with PCI slots going by by and no one is making any PCIexpress sound cards (that I am aware of). I sorta figured well shoot, now I am stuck with this sound card.
At first, I was , wait its a creative labs sound blaster X-FI, those are those new ones that seem really cool (NOT). I wont lie, in games it sounds million times better then my old Audigy did, no more pops or cracks (5 year old card) the EAX effects sound more life like, 5. channels works cleaner. I was like "way-a-go creative!"? Then the problems started.
I loaded up my favorite program Fruityloo
    ps.
After looking over the sound properties , I notice there was no ASIO cards to be found? Hmm.... Could? naa, no ASIO on a creative labs sound card? At first I thought I must of time warp back to the Li've! days, shoot at least I could use KX drivers make that baby work great!? This time I was left in the dark ?No problem, I will just goto creative.com and download the new drivers, forget those MSI drivers came with the board, I would rather use the manufactures drivers instead anyhow (creative). WRONG!! "setup could not find any supported devices in your system"?... Figures ?So i tryed to boot leg the drivers and force them to work , naa that wont work. So I am guessing Creative WILL NOT support this sound card because they didnt install it on to the motherboard, MSI did, they are the ones who do the driver support, go bug them! (as i would figure). MSI says "well we use there drivers off there site and make them work with our boards, they are up-to-date!" I dont know , this sucks, is there a way i can rip off the X-fi chip on my motherboard and get a refund, heck shoot me over a audigy 2 at least those work 'ok'....
?Besides that ASIO problem, I notice FEAR Combat will BSOD and sometimes say a file called "t3filt.sys" was involved, funny that file comes up as a "Sensaura" file? I have no clue what thats all about, I know this if I disable the onboard sound card from the BIOS, the system runs 00% stable, I enable it, game will randomly crash....
I do know what a computer is and how to get drivers working, but I would almost bet my problem is the driver, and not the hardware (I hope). Sean-

so how bad is it's does this mean iam SOL or what, i just got done reading one of those other threads on here about the X-FI extreme audio scam, I guess iam right up in there with the rest guys. I cant jerry rig the drivers at all, is there any third party drivers that will work? What can one do?If it comes down to it I will litterly desolider the x-fi chip off the board, no sence in having it on there if iam not going to use it?Probley snap it in half when iam done and mail it back to creative. • Sound card driver probl

Perhaps someone can help with an annoying soundcard problem on a Windows XP Pro PC with all security updates installed.
I have an Audigy sound card with the latest drivers from the Auto up date on this site.
Before installing the drivers I clear out the old drivers as the instructions for uninstalling drivers again from this site.
When installed all is well and the sound card works well through my speakers but after a few days the volume available from the speakers has gone down by about 50%.
Cleaning out the drivers and reinstalling will bring the volume available back up to what I consider to be a normal level.
My question is; can anyone explain why the drivers seem to be corrupted after a short period. I'm not constantly installing or removing software that could interfer with the installation. I have all the latest security updates installed and run spyware and virus protection that shows no problems.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to what might be effecting my soundcard installation before I change the card for one that hopefully wont need reinstalling every few days.

    Hi,
I appear to have a similar problem. In the middle of working with Cubase SX3, a message came up saying 'could not load audigy 2 zs' - I came out of the program, then tried to load it up again, but would not load - after uninstalling almost everything, I tried to reinstall the audigy 2 ZS, but a message came up saying 'could not detect any audigy 2 ZS card on your system - installation will now exit' - why? Before it was because the drivers were not installed? I have sound out of the card, but not through the DVD player - any ideas? Please.
    Thanks.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Newest Beta Driver Probl

those drivers have really big problems, in BF2 it has its problems as u know, freezes and when there are a lot voices and sound it laggy but sometimes not so much.
for example in the game SAS Anti Terror Force, and StarShip Troopers the FPS new game, the games Freeze, stuck, and have sound issues, and the game : The Movies has sound problems too, the music suddently and sometimes turn off and on.
anyone tried and has the same synptoms?
i dont want to go back to .84.55 , they dont support nothing,, .

Never mind about my previous post. Found the answer on another forum. CMSS does not upmix like ProLogic. All it does is put echoes/reverb in the other speakers besides L/R (pretty worthless if you ask me).
To get real ProLogic type upmix, all I did was disable CMSS altogether. Then I installed DTS NEO 6 and enabled it in Cinema mode. All my music was then upmixed just like ProLogic. Voices to the center speaker, instruments to L/R, echoes to the rear channels, and bass signals to the subwoofer.
Lesson learned: Do not look for answers on manufacturer forums. These are just gripe pages. Hope this helps somebody with the same problem though.

  • M-audio profire 610 driver problème

    I can't install drivers propre l'y : .kext problem.

    Hi Gabe,
Thanks for the video, very kind of you.
When I click on the ProFire in Sound Prefs it comes up immediately, so I'm good with that. When I test the mic through the inputs it comes up, so I'm good with that too.
I noticed that you don't have the ProFire as the input (Logitech Cam instead), just only as the output? So how do you record vocals and guitars through the interface into Logic?
One thing I did notice: when it's just the Audio Midi Setup and the 610 setup running, I select the 610 (either in an aggregate device or on its own). When I click "Configure Speakers" and click the buttons for the left and right speakers at random, the meters don't move exactly when I click (sometimes a few seconds later), and there's data still going through long after I've clicked the speaker buttons. I've switched Firewire ports and still get the same thing. Have you ever gotten that?

  • Audigy Platnum 2 Live drive probl

Hello I purchased an Audigy platnum 2 from a friend with the li've dri've. Everything is installed, updated drivers from creative's website and I still cannot get the li'vedri've to function properly. Headphones work fine, microphone does not. Neither does firewire port. When I plug into the card on the backside of the PC everything works fine, but I really would like to get the li'vedri've up and running for the convenience. The mic sounds really weak and muffled when I try to record in Audition or soundbooth and just when it is plugged in it has the same muffled light sound. Any help would be appreciated.
    BTW system specs
    XP SP2
    q9300
    4 gigs DDR2 066 Ram
    geforce 8600

To summarise everything worked ok for a period of time, then, when attempting to use the headphones (which had worked prevoiusly) there was no sound. Further investigation revealed that the remote, mic 2 and aux in 2 (which also worked previously?) also did not work but a red light still shows in optical out. You have tested these using the surround mixer to select the appropriate inputs.
The red light in optical out shows you have power and connectivity to the card also they appear in the mixer ( if I understand your initial post correctly) which shows the card detects the front bay.
This is difficult to comment on as everything seems to be as it should be. Please confirm in detail that my understanding is correct.
PS. it would help if you call things by their correct names.

  • A Time To Worry? (Drive Proble

I can hear and feel my HD reading data. It's a loud clicking sound and the unit vibrates.
It never used to do this before, and as of now it still plays music. Is this a problem that could amount of something like dri've failure?
Also I have had it less than a year. If it is a problem will Creai've fix it's

I don't know. All hard disks whir, buzz and click. If it's clattering as loud as the hard dri've in a normal desktop computer, or used to be a lot quieter, I would suggest calling tech support.
It also depends on how much warranty you have left. If you're coming up to the end of the warranty, get an RMA and send it in before it's too late. If you've still got a few months left, wait and see. Either way, back up your data (always a good idea). It's probably just normal chatter, but if it's really loud, it might indicate that it's about to die.
