Driver properties issue

Driver issue with HP Laserjet 3015 both PS and PCL5 - I cannot get edits to Devices tab to stick - I try to make unavailable but they won't stay. It will keep Legal if I change to it or other choices, but not unavailable. Anyone seen this before?

The tray assignments at the top of the image cannot be changed to unavailable - actually, they can be changed - they just will not stay not available after apply/ok.

  • Hard Drive Encryption Issue

This is in regard to hard drive encryption issues in my USB Hard drive. I have Windows 7. I was encrypting my USB hard drive and
was able to enter a password. However, I did not receive any prompt to save the Bitlocker recovery key.  During encryption process, I received an error. The encryption process was unsuccessful. However, now when I plug-in the hard drive, I receive the
following message on the status bar:
Application and Device Control rule Block writing to removable media. Unencrypted drive found (No_Encrypted_Found) has blocked edpa.exe trying to access Volume
    {e3901a75-f1ff-11e1-817c-806e6f6e6963 alpha-numeric number appearing here}
When I try to open the drive, it asks for a password. When I enter the password, I am receiving the following error message:
Bitlocker Drive Encryption failed to recover from an abruptly terminated conversion. This could be due to either all conversion logs being corrupted or the media
    being write-protected.
I have read that Bitlocker repair tool can help resolve this issue.
However, I just have the password that I had set to encrypt the drive and Bitlocker recovery key identification. Can this help to get access to my hard drive data  using the Bitlocker tool.

    Checked this ?

"ERROR - The shared restore point operation failed with error (0x81000101)
The creation of a shadow copy has timed out. Try again this operation."
If you receive the above error in your report, we have recently found a registry key which
contains the timeout value set by Microsoft for VSS and found that you can edit this to extend it.
To get to the registry key, open Regedit (Start > Run > Regedit) and browse to:
    "HKLM\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\SPP\\CreateTimeout".
    Change value to 1200000 (2*10*60*1000 = 20 mins).
The default for the timeout period is 10 mins so hopefully doubling this will give enough time to
    complete the snapshot.
If this isn't present, you'll need to manually enter the registry key. It's a DWORD 32-bit key.

    Scot Pichelman

    Hi Scot,
Sometimes a third party backup application will change the default VSS provider adding VSS writers which causes Windows Server Backup using an incorrect component in doing backup, that's why I suggest to delete it for a test. Anyway you can reinstall it
    after testing.
And as you said a high-load CPU could also be the cause of the issue so you may need to first rule hardware effective out.
If issue still exists, please try the steps below as well:
    1. Please check DCOM Server Process Launcher service is started.
    2. If not, try to change RPC service to run as SYSTEM account. To do this please modify the following key:
Note: Backup the key before edit incase it cause any issue.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\RpcSs\
Find "ObjectName" and change the value to LocalSystem.
Reboot to see if DCOM back to work and if Windows Server Backup starts working. If not, please provide the result if there is any new error occurs.
If DCOM still not work, please compare the content of the following key with a working server:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OLE
Edit if there is any difference and make sure you created a backup of the key before editing.

  • Boot Camp / Windows 8.1 64-bit / Driver compatibility issues

    Hi everyone,
I have been struggling to install Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit version through Boot Camp on my MacBook Air 13 inch mid-2012 for a few days and I have finally decided to give up and write this thread to see if anyone has encountered the same problems as I have and if they've found a solution.
    What I've tried so far:
    1. First attempt
         a. Download the ISO from Microsoft (We are a Microsoft Partner and have access to internal use licences of Windows 8.1).
         b. Use the Boot Camp utility to create a bootable USB drive, download the latest Boot Camp drivers and partition my SSD drive.
Issue: Upon rebooting, I got the "No bootable device found" error message. I still tried to boot on the USB drive, which I was able to, but           when installing Windows, I was unable to format the partition created by the Boot Camp utility as it contained a "MBR partition table"           instead of a GPT.
    2. Second attempt
         a. I searched the Internet about the error message about the MBR partition table.
         b. The solution I found was to format the partition created by the Boot Camp utility as "Free space".
         c. I was then able to start Windows installation by formatting the partition I wanted to allot it to through the Windows installation process.
Issue: The installation went smoothly until my computer rebooted the first time and the "Peripherals preparation" step (sorry about the           approximate translation, I'm used to the French version of it) got stuck at 10% and was brutally followed by a black screen. Forcing the           computer to restart would show the Windows logo and go straight back to the black screen situation...
    3. Third attempt
         a. I decided to create a bootable Windows installation USB drive using UNetBootin utility and creating a "Free space" partition through Disk      Utility on which to install Windows.
         b. I then booted on the USB Drive and was able to install Windows properly.
         c. I donwloaded the set of Boot Camp drivers through Apple's wesbsite corresponding to my MacBook Air model.
Issue: Somehow, the graphics driver installed by Boot Camp made my system crash as I got a black screen when it tried to install. Even           without doing anything and having Windows try to install the right driver by itself, I got a black screen and an unusable installation of           Windows 8.1.
What am I missing here? Why isn't the Boot Camp utility working when it should be so easy? Is there a compatibility issue of my graphics driver (Intel HD Graphics 4000) with Windows running under Boot Camp?
Thanks in advance for your help. I'm in desperate need of a solution as I don't want to go back to using virtualisation softwares such as Parallels Desktop, VMWare, etc. though they work just fine...
    Best regards,
    Alex

    1. Your MBA does not support EFI/Free Space method.
    2. You need to ensure that your USB is a USB2 device.
    3. The MBR should be checked, because there are known cases where BCA fails to create the MBR.

This is a JPG, after I have opened a RAW file, with Camera Raw 8.7 beta (happened before the Camera Raw
update), and make my adjustments, and save.  Everything seems fine, the jpg preview looks fine, but after working
on about 3 images, EVERY jpg opens and looks something like this.  I can see parts of other recent images
in the garbage as well, and the image changes drastically when I zoom in and out.
I already posted to the Adobe forums, and someone suggested it might be a video driver/GPU issue with the new OS X.
    Any suggestion?

An Adobe employee in the online community had me turn off "Use Graphics Processor" in the photoshop/prefs/performance,
and that worked.  Not a total fix, since I can't use that now, and something is clearly not compatible, but at lease I can use
    Photoshop.

  • Satellite L670D External Simple Drive HDD issue

OS Windows 7 Home. Preloaded by Toshiba.
Have a Toshiba simpledrive 1T. When plugged into USB port then hardrive are rewritten with shortcuts. Hard Drive Properties in explorer shows the correct volume data on the drive but I do not have access to the drive. Shortcuts leads to nowhere.
Formatted drive with laptop and working fine but can't eject. Everytime I want to eject the drive it comes up as being used by another program. Can't find the program using the Xdrive. Once X drive is switched off and back on then shortcuts appear again. Do not have same problem with Xdrive on my PC - OS Win 7 Pro - working fine.
I updated laptop with Toshiba drivers, Bios etc. Also updated Windows still no go. This must be a laptop problem but I seem not to be able to solve it.
    Help will be appreciated.

    Hi
Hmm try to plug the HDD to the notebook before booting the Win OS.
Furthermore check if the software Xdrive isnt blocked by any other security software (firewall, antivirus tool, etc).
I would also recommend checking the Power Management of the Win 7 on your notebook. Check if the USP ports are not configured to save power.

  • I would like to buy a developer license to use on a mac at a public library from a flash drive any issue with this?

I would like to buy a developer license to use on a mac at a public library from a flash drive any issue with this? Very new to this

The license is for the Developer not the machine it is run on However there could be soma issues with trying to develop on a public machine.
The biggest is does the library machine have or will they let you install  and run Xcode and if you are developing for IOS will they let you plug in your devices?
In addition will they allow you the hours needed on the machine? Most public machines have a time limit especially if there are others waiting to use it.
All-in-all in can be done but it won;t be an easy situation.
    good luck

  • Problems to show IVI driver, properts loader when using operator interface

I am using the Operator Interface (programmed in CVI, with asynchronous timer) in folder OP1 in attached  zip file. This operator interface puts not the error message of IVI driver, properts loader etc... on the screen (messages like in attached picture error.jpg in attached zip file). Because of stability problems I am using this operator interface but I need these error message.
A Other Operator interface is OP2 in attached zip file. This operator interface puts the error message of IVI driver, properts loader ... on the screen (messages like in attached picture error.jpg in attached zip file).
Now I want to have this functionality with OP1 becaus of stability reasons I have to use OP1.
How can I implement this in OP1? I tried and searched a lot of time but I have not found a method to implement this.
    can anyone help me?
    thank you

    Hi Sam,
if you open the userinterface which comes with Teststand - the simple one - you should be able to find the difference. You can find it here:
    C:\Programme\National Instruments\TestStand 4.1\UserInterfaces\Simple\CVI
     I hope this helps.

  • Hard drive space issues

I have some hard drive space issues.
At present I only have about 13GB remaining on my 40GB hard drive, which is not necessarily an issue except that I have almost nothing installed/saved on my machine. I have 1 CD ripped to iTunes, no photos in the iPhoto library. I did a quick look with Disk Inventory X and found that the "Printer" folder is 3.2GB - can I get rid of some/all of that as I don't intend to print from the machine?
What is filling my disk? As far as I can tell the OS should only take up around 3 GB so where did the other 24GB go? Where, oh where?

Yes, you can delete printer drivers you don't use. OS X takes up far more than 3 GBs. A pretty minimal installation is nearly 7 GBs. Your computer also may have came with pre-bundled software applications (not standard OS X applications.) OS X will also use potentially 10 GBs of space on a temporary basis for temporary files, log files, and cache files. So for a 40 GB drive it's not too surprising to have only 13 GBs free. Perhaps it's time for you to put in a larger hard drive. You can purchase hard drives at:
    MacSales.com
    Buy.com
    NewEgg.com
The Mini uses a notebook drive. If you have a pre-2006 (Intel) model it uses an ATA drive. After that year they use SATA drives.

  • OC4J "classpath+properties" issue

    Hi,
Is any fix available for the OC4J classpath+properties issue?
It can't find *.properties files even if it is in the classpath.
It's not convenient to jar properties files and edit the manifest.mf file in orion.jar every time you want to add new file
    Thanks

The classpath for the Oc4j is entirely different than what is normal classpath. If you start your oc4j with -jar option the system classpath will never get effected. If you want your properties files to be recognized keep under the possible classpaths. Oc4j takes every thing from lib directory so you can keep there.
If you have an application you can add <library path=""/> tags to your application.xml and keep the properties files in that directory.
If you have webapplication usually web-inf\lib added in classpath.

  • Hard drive syncing issues "!" HEEEELLLLPPPP!

Hard Drive syncing issues "!" HEEEELLLLPPPP!
I use an external hard drive to store all my music. I sync the hard drive with Itunes because my library is way too big to store on my computer. About every 8 month or so Itunes displays "!" next to all my songs because it can't seem to locate them. When prompted to locate file, it can but this needs to be done one by one. I typically delete my entire library and start over. This is a complete nightmare because I have to build all my files and play list again. Can anyone HELP me out of this frustration??? Thank you in advance!

Does the exHD have a permanent drive letter assigned to it?
Windows can assign different drive letters to digital camera cards, USB sticks, etc if you don't specifically assign them drive letter.
That is a common cause of the !
One day the music is on an exHD named F: and then windows reassigns it to G:

  • Probook 470 windows 8.1 upgrade to windows 10, any driver compatible issue?

Probook 470 windows 8.1 upgrade to windows 10, any driver compatible issue?

    Hi,
First I assume there is a bluetooth module inside your computer.
If so please test to reinstall its driver. To get a driver for the device, you need to know the brand and model of your computer or your motherboard.
Generally computer manufacturers will provide all drivers for their computers on their website. Search with your computer model on manufacturer's website could help you get a proper driver. If failed, search your motherboard from its manufacturer instead
    will also help.
After that, uninstall your bluetooth module from Device Manager and install the driver you just downloaded, reboot to see the result.
Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and un-mark them if they provide no help. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact [email protected]

  • Primary hard drive upgrade issues

All this great software has finally taken its toll on the 80Gb of hard drive space that this computer came with (Just for the record, I use the primary drive for the OS and applications only -- I store all of my data on other drives).
So, I need to upgrade the primary hard drive so I can install even more software and do even more amazing things . I'm going to upgrade my primary drive to a 120gb.
I've got Carbon Copy Cloner, but it hasn't solved a couple of issues:
First off, when I make the dupe, it doesn't maintain the original disk's Tech Tool Pro eDrive partition -- I need this on my new drive just in case. Now, you'll say "Why don't you just uninstall Tech Tool Pro and then re-install it when you set up your new drive?" Well, that's because Micromat tracks how many installs you make with any particular activation code, and I'd have to purchase another license to do another install -- and I really don't want to have to lay out $$ when there's really no clear reason.
Secondly, the CCC'd dupe doesn't play well with Classic. (Yeah, I'm a hold-out who still has a couple of OS9 oldies-but-goodies that I won't give up). The CCC'd dupe drive doesn't contain the OS9 drivers that I need to be able to successfully run Classic.
So, my overall question is this -- how do I properly set up my new 120gb drive and then properly transfer a complete image of my old 80gb drive onto it so I maintain all my functionality and all my software applications, but wind up with more space to play?
    Thanks!

I solved my own problem! Here's how we did it:
First, we booted up using the Tech Tool Pro disk and removed the eDrive partition from the original boot drive.
Next, we took the new target drive (we went with a 250gb rather than a 120 -- more is always better, no?) and formatted it using Disk Utility from the OSX Panther install disk. This allowed us to put in the OS9 drivers on the disk (didn't find the option for this with Tiger's DU).
Then we used CCC to clone the old drive over. Then I did a little bit of physical re-arranging so that the new drive was in the master spot on the primary IDE chain in the box.
Finally, we booted up again using the TTP disk and had TTP create a new eDrive on the 250gb disk.
After all that, everything works just fine! No problems running apps in Classic, and no need to re-install TTP and spend more money on another license!

  • Hard drive startup issues after extended sleep/shutdown

    Hello,
When I put my iMac to sleep or shut it off for an extended period of time (overnight) and then try to wake it up or turn it on, the iMac makes a strange clicking noise and freezes.
After manually shutting down and restarting it one or more times it will startup fine.
Putting to sleep/shutting down the computer for short periods of time doesn't cause any problems.
So when this first started happening I though "Uh oh, hard drives going to that great recycling depot in the sky."
But, Disk Utility, Apple's hardware test, and TechTool Pro 4 all find nothing wrong with my system.
Is there any chance this could not be an hard drive issue? Or should I just get the drive replaced and stop trying to diagnose the problem?

You've covered the biggies already - I'd recommend a trip to the Apple store or at least a call to AppleCare. Back in the late 80's and early 90's 'stiction' was a serious problem with hard drives. A hard drive motor has very low torque; it can spin fast but it doesn't have much oomph and the lubricant used back then could harden overnight so that when the computer was booted up the drive's motor couldn't spin up the platters. Improvements in lubricants have made stiction less common today but it hasn't been eradicated and it is one of the things that might be affecting your drive. At any rate, since I can't put your computer on my bench, the best call I can make is for you to make a call. Sorry.
