Driver software is not available from Apple

Was using an HP LaserJet 1020 without any problems until last week, when it just gave out and it shows the following error every time: "driver software is not available from Apple". Have tried to install the latest drivers but it won't allow it with the same error.
Also tried following these instructions http://blog.jayway.com/2010/04/08/hp-laserjet-1020-in-snow-leopard/ but it gets stuck on the third step. The driver list can't be opened and it reads "driver software is not available from Apple" again.
Any suggestions?

From what I can tell from online research, HP never claimed the 1020 printer series was compatible with Macs or has ever developed any OS X drivers for them. For instance, from the "Specifications" tab of this product info page:
Because of that, I'm kind of amazed that you ever got your 1020 to work with any version of OS X, unless some sort of hack or third party driver was involved. If so, you might want to check with the originator of that workaround to see if there are any new developments that would get it working again.

Trying to connect a new HP Laserjet P1102w printer via USB to a MBP running OSX 10.p and fully up to date. Problems getting the correct driver - does it exist and what are the workarounds?

Lots of information on the HP web site for this printer with Mavericks, a driver is available for 10.9. Try this web page and go from there.

Driver/Software Updates Not Available

While attempting to locate and update my drivers, I can successfully find the HP update page for my specific product but when clicking on the 'Software and driver results page' the message is:, "We were unable to find any drivers for your product. Drivers may be in development so please check back at a later date or visit the product homepage." Visiting the homepage link is of no help. In the past I have successfully located the various updates for my product but recently I see nothing is available. Specifically, I am attempting to determine if my BIOS is up to date. Will this update page ever return?

Hi: Unfortunately, the support pages are not working for most of the newer HP PC's. It has been that way for about two days now. Since I am not employed by nor do I represent HP, I am not sure when they will have the pages working again. Check back again some other time. I know the problem has been reported, but I don't know how long this is going to take to fix. With the Independence Day holiday weekend in the USA, I would not expect this to be taken care of immediately.

Reinstall 10.7 prior to sale, not available from apple store

I want to wipe the hard drive - which I have managed to do
I want to reinstall Mac OS X Lion
I follow the instruction to get to the "download from the app store"
I sign in with no problem
Returned message is - this item is temporarily unavailable.....
Any ideas what to do?

What is currently installed? If you restart the machine and hold ALT when the mac makes the noise it should say Macintosh HD and Recovery - boot to recovery and you can Reinstall OS X.

I am just getting ready to try to install windows on my mac, so I have no experience yet, but I have heard in some other posts that you have to install XP service pack 2, then upgrade to service pack 3 afterwards. Not sure if this is true, but that's what I have been told.

The printer and ICA scanner driver is available from Apple. There is probably some other reason why you cannot get the drivers.
You can also get the drivers from Canon.
But reading your post it sounds like you were printing to the MX310 and recently it has stopped printing. Is this the case?

If you want to use the "newest updated whatever available." then you would have to buy the newest hardware that supports that. iPad 2 is not the newest hardware available and it can't/does not support siri.

HP Laserjet Pro P1102w software update not available?

I recently purchased an HP LaserJet Pro P110w which advertises AirPrint capability. Apparently there is not specific OS X 10.8 support for this printer? My specific problem is that when i go to add the printer to my network, I get a box during setup that says "Software is available from Apple" it then attempts to download said software, but then I get a box that says Software Not available.
Any suggestions? I've seen some "solutions" involving this printer but I can't get any further than above. This occurs whether I attach it to my macbook pro via USB or to my Time Capsule.
It also has the latest firmware. In fact when I tried to use the enclosed CD, it says my printer has new firmware that what is available on the CD.
HP's website is useless, at least I can't find help.
I'm hoping that my fellow macophiles can help!

I have been tryng unsuccessfully to install Itunes. I keep getting the msg. that a valid installation pkg. is not available from its network resourse. I have windows vista. Sometimes it says missing .dll files. What can I do to correct this? My Itunes worked perfectly until I was asked to upgrade it 2 weeks ago. Now nothing works with anything else.

IPod Nano 8G - Win7 - Device driver software wat not successfully installed

Just got my first Apple iPod Nano 8G (4th) and has installed iTune 9.0.2 (64bit) on my Win 7 Ultimate x64. But I am not able to connect iPod nor Sync with iTune successfully even after reinstall/reboot many times with the same problem.
After the installation of iTune accomplished, I plug USB adapter into PC, then Win7 detected and started to install the driver for the hardware, but got "Device driver software wat not successfully installed" as a result.
Then I went to Device Manager tring to install the driver manually for "Apple iPod USB Driver", but finally I failed again and got "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device....", I think this is the software problem, please kindly advise, thanks a lot!

First, my officejet 4500 all-in-one installed and is working perfectly with wireless; however, I have for months still/have been getting the error/uninstall window continuously, telling me install was not successful, but again, printer, scanner, etc., working fine! But this "the installation was not successful" window is ALWAYS up or if I ctrl-alt-del and get it to end now, it comes back up; I have even let it do its thing, finish, restart, but it ALWAYS comes back up, trying to find a solution, etc. BUT MY PRINTER IS WORKING FINE! Please help me get rid of this; also, the file that it puts on desktop to troubleshoot, etc then delete afterward, I have deleted it, but this "unsuccessful" keeps trying to uninstall, reinstall; and as I said, actually went through all the steps to get it gone (printer working fine) but it will not go away! i'm having the same problem with my iMac (Mac OS X 10.7.5) . i haven't really made any updates to it and yesterday when i tried to access the iPhoto library of my MBP (from my iMac) is when problems started. The iPhoto on the iMac initially said I need to install the recent version of the iPhoto. Since I can't find a 9.0 download, I went to buy the iPhoto on the App store.
When I tried to install iPhoto (version 9.4.3) to the iMac, I got this message:

Note: If your library is from iPhoto 6 or later, this tool is not required."
I then installed the iPhone Library Upgrader, but I got the same prompt:
'You can't open your current photo library using this version of the iPhoto. You have made changes to your library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto."
I guess this takes me back to square one? I am inclined to buy the iLife on eBay with the iPhoto 9.0 version, but needed to know if this is the case before I unfortunately bite the bullet.
