Driver to Dispatch VoIP solution

I am looking for an end to end solution that preferably will do VoIP, data and video over cellular from a mass transit vehicle to a control center. The vehicles currently use radio. Being able to integrate this system into the current VoIP platform in the control center is optimal but a stand alone option would be considered. I believe the MAR3270 had this capability but has reached its end of sale/life.

DVD-RW Drive Appears in My Computer as a DVD-R Drive

Windows XP does not recognize a DVD-RW disc

I upgraded to W7 and everything works fine except two things.

VoIP Solutions

Hi All,
We are planning to have a VOIP solution in our organization with in coming months. We have 4 offices. Each office has E1 links between them. Our HQ has Cisco 3745 series router with 12.3 IOS running and other location has Cisco 3725 series router with 12.3 IOS.
I have some doubts, can any one help me.
1) Do I require any new hardware? If yes please specify.
2) Does my IOS support VOIP?
3) Is there any extra cost involved?
4) Can I use soft phone?

At all locations you probably have a PBX or Keysystem to support local office phones as well as the HQ site. Depending on the available interfaces on the PBX you would need hardware on the gateway so you can connect your 37xx routers to it. Normally connections are made through EM, FXS, FXO or T1 digital cards. These are VIC cards and you would need NM modules as well. For T1 you would need NM-HDV and VWIC T1 cards.
Your IOS does support the voip so you should not have any problem configuring voip.
Cost will be related to the hw that you would need to integrate your PBXs to the routers.
IP Softphone would need CiscoCallManager(CCM). Since you did not mention that you are expecting to install IP Phones at locations the above mentioned recommendations are tradition voip. If you are planning for IP Telephony support then you will have to look into:

CCM
IP Phones
And this will allow you to support softphone.

HP Officejet 4500 driver not installing HP Solution Center fully-so can't scan

New laptop w/ Windows 8....Have installed the right driver...but the driver isn't downloading the HP Solution Center suite, so I can't instruct the HP Officejet 4500 to scan. Printer is communicating w/ laptop. I don't use the online fax options, but am sure they wouldn't work either.
How do I get the driver to fully install the HP solution center so I can instruct the device to scan????

CD didn't work. Download software, didn't work when it came to plugging into usb port, don't even get a BACK button, nothing. Printer not recognized by laptop. Did all the solutions/uninstall/install etc. Printer is working though, prints out the exact same thing each time I press the green button on the printer, but is not connected to laptop. So it's not the printer, it works.
Now what?

Stuck CD in drive: is there a solution other than upside-down?

It seems that everytime someone has a CD stuck in their DVD drive, the solution is to hold the computer upside-down, press F12, or something similarly "agricultural"... When it happened to me the firtst time, I was in such a panic that when, eventually, it spit it out, I was too thankful to question the fact that, surely, it is NOT normal to have to go through this upside-down-press F12 (and pray) procedure to simply eject a CD.
Is there another solution to stuck CDs? For example:
- Return Computer to Apple for servicing? What would they do to it anyway? It seems that it's not just my own DVD drive that happens to be faulty. Rather, it seems much more common as a problem, which might point out to some inherent fault with the DVD drive. In other words, I cannot imagine Apple servicing being able to repair it, and replacing it would not yield necessarilly better results.
- Replace the DVD drive with a third-party option, at my cost? I almost wouldn't mind that because I just want piece of mind, but it's just not right, is it? Why should I have to pay for it? It never said in the advertising blurb that:
"Here you have the new MacBook Pro, featuring a DVD drive that works (Please note: we kinda didn't really sort out the eject thang...sorry. But PLEASE...buy it nevertheless!)"
The short of it is that I expected a working DVD drive, and Apple failed to deliver a reliable one, generally, it seems. I want another solution than turning my computer upside-down and F12. Any suggestions?...

May I suggest the radical idea that you have Apple repair the drive?
As for others having the problem, what difference does that make to you? Get yours fixed and be on your way.
If Apple sees many units returned for a similar repair, they'll diagnose the problem and rectify it at the factory.

Cable driver problems?? solution here!!

Well I'll start to say that this solution is the only one I could find to solve the thamed problem that my 6280 gave me when I was trying to install it!!
it recognised the phone but didn't install the driver so I couldn't connect to the pc suite...

the drive don't want to instal automaticly... install it manualy...
how?? go to the folder \Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver and there you can see some of the .inf that is necessary for the instalation...
next (this last phase was just to place you!) connect the phone whith the cable... (prior you would have to install the pc suite)... it will give you that "pound new hardware" message... select "manually" and then next, next, "have disk"...
go to the page that I told you before and select one of the .inf files... nmwcd(...)
keep instaling and selecting new files... (it will give you the lot of the drives...

New Hard Drive space & Back-up solution

I have run out of space on my 640GB hard drive 2009 iMac. The majority of this is because of my very large HD photos and videos. So far I have been just using Time Machine to back-up my entire hard drive on an external Sea Gate drive, but now since they are both full I need a new solution.
Based on my research I thought I was going to go with a RAID 1 solution - but I need to confirm that it will do what I expect it to do and safely. Planned to buy a 2TB external hard drive, format it to RAID 1 and then redirect all of my HD photos and video to one of the 1TB drives and then mirror all data to the second 1 TB drive, is this RAID 1 intended purpose? I am confused because I have read that you should not use RAID 1 as your primary back-up system?
I need a solution that will expand my current hard drive AND back-up the information on that expansion. Do I need to buy two entirely separate drives OR use RAID 1 or what is the best way to do this?

From what you've said I would recommend a device like Drobo. http://www.drobo.com/ It gives you a "Beyond RAID" option that is safe from almost any type of failure scenario. You could upgrade the HDD in your iMac, but if you were to get a device like Drobo, then you could move all of your photos and videos to that device which would be protected from data loss and then your iMac's HDD would be free and wouldn't need an upgrade. Good luck with your decision!

Counter Driver Function Dispatch AS3

I am a Flash Newbie, i am currently larning from a video tutorial package. I have come across a problem which i can not figure out nor can i implement it.
Problem:
Using ActionScript, I am trying to dispatch functions using a counter. I would like to set a Timer(simply like a watch), as soon as a certain amount of time has lapsed, i would like it to dispatch a function. Inside the function there is a Tween of 3-5 seconds, therefore i would like to take that into consideration and add it to the timer(or let the timer account for it), that would enable me to have some accuracy over dispatch. Right after the last tween completes i would like to Reset the Timer so it can restart the whole process again.
My Attempt: (there is a simple movie clip car_mc -- it is simply an image of a car)

I haven't fiddled with the timer much, so for what you have I wonder if adding myTimer.start(); right after the reset would be all you need to do? One thing I don't see is why you are decrementing the repeat count. If it isn't necessary/used, then I see no reason to change it... I don't know if resetting the timer would end up using the decremented repeat value or the original value--worth a shot.
For the multiple mc side of things, I'm not sure on interpretting your loop discussion as intended, but it is feasible to loop thru different mc's. You could store the mc's in an array for targeting or you could just use the "i" value with strings of their names to target them using the array notation: this["car_mc"+String(i)]

SOLVED: Here Drive 'Looking for GPS' Solution!

I'm using Lumia 520.
I have managed to solve this issue. Follow these steps in order to get your GPS working again:
1. Backup any data you need
2. Do a soft reset by going to 'about' -> 'reset my phone' (this factory resets your phone, backup needed!)
3. Find the culprit app by installing your store apps back one by one and testing the navigation each time. In my case the culprit was an app called 'Amazing Weather HD' which used GPS to track the location. It messes up the GPS so that navigation no longer finds signal even if the app OR it's background task is NOT on!
4. Do the soft reset again once you have found the culprit, then install everything back except the culprit app. Problem solved!
ATTENTION! It IS NOT enough to just uninstall the culprit app or disable the background task, YOU NEED TO do a soft reset in order to get the GPS working. I have no idea why, but Nokia needs to fix this.

True, but it would be useful if Nokia could work out what the rogue app has done and provide a fix which gets GPS going again, without having to reset the phone.
This makes more sense to me as the cause of the problem. Although I don't have that particular app, I have others that use GPS which may have done something similar. But going through that process to find out which app it is will be a pain. There are a few obvious candidates, but having to backup, reset and reinstall everything will take a long time.

I have downgraded my X300 from Vista to XP Pro SP2. Now I want to ghost it thorugh Symancte Ghost Soltuion Suite 2.5, what I did, I created an image and place it to our storage area. Now when I restore that image on another x300 and start that laptop, it is giving an error "Signature Faliure". I used ghost -ib switch also but it didn't work.
Is there any another way to create or restore image of SSD?

Migrating from SIEMENS HIPATH 3000 to a CISCO VOIP Solution

We've got a SIEMENS HIPATH 3000 PBX system with 15 to 20 individual telephone lines coming in from the telecom operator into the FSO card of the PBX
We are planning to migrate to CISCO Call Manager and are also implementing an 3845 Router
I would like to know if there is an interface on the router into which these 20 RJ11 phone lines go or is there another option
How do I go about it ?

Spa8800 as standalone voip solution with ip phones

Hi Everyone,
I've recently been handed a cisco spa8800 to configure and I'm wondering if it is possible to use the device with a couple of spa941 IP telephones.
I'm aware that the spa8800 can interface with an asterisk box, though the requirement doesn't list one.
Is there anyway of achieving this?
Am happy to provide more details and bounce around ideas as needed.

Unfortunately the SPA8800 is not a Call Control, then if you wish to use the SPA941 you should use it with IP Dialing (option can be enabled after Dial Plan Field).
The SPA8800 can interface with asterisk without problems, we have in this community some guides to do this kind of configuration in SPA Phones, you can use the same guide and adapt to your needs.
