Driver uninstall/re-install problems

I'm using a DAQPad-6020E and a SC-2345 signal conditioning unit. I configured the channels in one version of MAX, then had to instead use a different version so I uninsalled the one with my configurations in it. The problem is that even after uninstalling (including LabVIEW and using regedit for the files I could directly attribute to NI), the old channel configurations keep cropping-up in the newly installed MAX causing an error, even after by-passing the send/don't send error message box and deleting the channel configurations. QUESTION: WHERE ARE THESE CONFIGURATIONS STORED AND HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM?

Go in and delete everything in the data folders under C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX. Then uninstall MAX and NI-DAQ from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Reinstall NI-DAQ. The configurations should be deleted. Please let me know if you still have problems. Have a great day!

OK. I decide to ask this question now befroe I get total frustration.
I had problem since update with 6u2 (successful for 6u1). So I decide to
clean up all Java related files (uninstall using the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility Installer, It was not possible for me to uninstall normally, always error 2753 Regutils)
Now that it appears to me all clean. So i download the file jre-6u3-windows-i586-p-s (file size about 14M). double click, NO RESPONSE AT ALL. I trust this file will give me a complete installation, not just upgrade as I have no java stuff any more.
what's wrong? Any help would appreciate.

OK. I want to walk away from Sun Java. Any one can recommend an alternative software to play java applets?

GTX 660M black screen after installing driver, maybe a BIOS problem

I own a custom PowerPro 11-36 laptop based on a MS-16F23 platform. A few months ago my graphics card died. (A GTX 560M)
I could not afford to buy a new laptop or new graphics card so I replaced it with a second hand GTX 670M 3 GB. It worked fine at first, but after a month this card also died.
About a week ago I received an used GTX 660M from an acquaintance.
I installed it with the new heatsink, started Windows and everything looked OK. Then I installed the Nvidia drivers and after reboot, right after the loading screen, I got a black screen (with the screen still lit).
I went into Safe mode and uninstalled the driver. Then installed again and got the same result. Went into Bios, change settings, tried resetting CMOS, nothing worked. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate again, then Windows 8, same thing. I also tried modding the drivers, still nothing.
I finally connected the laptop to an external monitor and it worked with the Nvidia driver installed. The laptop screen work perfectly without the driver.
Somebody form the Nvidia forum told me that this might be a BIOS problem, so I came here for help. Updating the BIOS is the only thing I haven't tried.
I looked for a fix for this for days now, if anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

OK, thanks to runningman and to the great people at Power Notebooks I got to the point I am now. I have a MS-16F2-ID1 platform, with this BIOS:
BIOS Version: E16F2IMT.300
BIOS Build: 05/31/2011
EC Version 16F2EG61 Ver4.22
EC Build 04/21/2011
and a Dell (Alienware) GTX 660M video card with original VBIOS that are currently not fully compatible with each other.
By looking around I have found:
- the VBIOS for the Dell GTX 660M at http://www.techpowerup.com/
- a more recent BIOS for my PowerPro R 11:36-560 MSI 937-16F231-004 on the MSI website.
- that the MSI GE60 0ND laptop used to come with the GTX 660M GPU and I have also found a BIOS for this on the MSI website.
I have tried modding the Nvidia driver again, following the indications in the link provided by runningman, but unfortunately it did not solved the problem.
I understand that for this to work, I have to either find, create, or find somebody that can make a modified vbios for the Dell GTX 660M GPU that will make it compatible with my laptop. Or, I could change the BIOS of my laptop in such a way that it would ID the 660M Dell MXM.
This is were I am right now and I have no idea were to go next. As before, any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

settigns>itunes and app store to make sure you are signed in.. If you are, you will see your account name..... anyhow, click your account name, sign out and sign back in
also go to to settings>general>reset and reset network settings... if that doesnt work settings>general>reset and reset all settings!

Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:

Solaris 10 Install problem with SATA drives

Hi, I'm trying to install solaris 10 on a x86 system with 2 SATA drives running in a on board SATA controler (not RAID).
During install the setup fails to detect the disks, to install Windows XP I have to provide disk drivers during the setup procedure by pressing F6 and providing the drivers, alas I cannot seem to find either a way to provide SATA controler drivers to solaris, nor a suitable driver for solaris .
Any help would be extremely apreciated.

I had the same SATA problem on builds 69 and 72 of Solaris10, but the Release version recognises and installs readily on SATA drives on three mainboards that I use. They are Tyan s2875 with dual opteron cpus, Asus k8N-E with a 754 pin athlon64 cpu, and Gigabyte GA-K8NS-939 with a939 pin athlon64.
My Mandrake Linux10 says it sees the SATA drives, but never installed on them.
FreeBSD 5.3 Release for AMD64 sees the SATA and installs with no problems.
Hope this gives you some encouragement to persist

Install problem Error with Z drive

Our IT guys configure our machines with a Z drive as a network share. Any ideas how to resolve the conflict with PE9 install.

I did not pick the Z drive for install. I always pick the C drive if given the option. But PE9 just went to work on its own and told me it could not install to the Z drive... there is a known issue posted here along these lines, however, so I think Adobe is on to it... of course i had to install as a trial version on a second machine to test the disk burning...then I have to solve the install problem, so I can install the license on the machine with the install problem.... all a big catch 22. Please try again after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already taken.
Step 1
Reset your computer’s PRAM.
Step 2
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications of the machine.
Step 3
Back up all data to at least two different storage devices, if you haven't already done so. One backup is not enough to be safe. The backups can be made with Time Machine or with Disk Utility. Preferably both.
Erase and install OS X. This operation will destroy all data on the startup volume, so you had be better be sure of the backups.
Step 4
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider to have the machine tested.

Plus the scanner is working OK in Acrobat on a different computer?

You can try installing twain twacker and see if the driver is working properly. You can download twacker from:

If the scanner is working properly with twacker that would mean there are no issues with the scanner drivers.

Adpatec cadp160 driver install problem

I have a brand new Tyan S2520 motherboard. This board has 2 builtin AIC
7899 SCSI controller chips ... allegedly equivalent to an Adaptec 29160 card.
I have the Adaptec driver, which allegedly will work for the 7899 chipset.
When I try to install Solaris, I follow the procedure for adding a driver,
and all goes well (i.e., the 7899 is detected as a device) but the driver does not actually install properly during the installation boot process.
The boot process exits with an out of memory error.
I think the boot process runs in real-mode, and so is limited to only 640k.
Anyhow, my question is:
Has anyone else seen this?

It turned out that the HP DDS 4 DAT drive that I had plugged
into the SCSI controller was somehow causing the driver
to wedge during the Solaris install.
Now that I have unplugged the tape drive, I can install just dandy!

Device Manages is indicating the driver is not installed

I have a HP Photosmart C410 multifunction device, which is connected to my home network wireless network.
I have a Microsoft Surface Pro with Windows 8.1 and have installed the HP installation sortware PS_AIO_07_C410_140_408 .exe and HP-ePrint-win-4.5.52.12202 .exe.
I reinstalled the software again, yesterday.
However the Device Manager is indicatijg that the Driver is not installed:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."
How do I fix the problem?

I understand the software isn't installing properly.
I will be happy to help you.
I would do a level 3 uninstall and reinstall the software again.
Go to the tiles screen, (start up screen)
start typing %temp%, open the folder starting with 7z, (Example: 7zS2356) util, ccc, uninstall_L3.
When the uninstall has completed, restart the computer.
Here is a URL to temporarily disable all the start up programs to see if one of them is causing any issues.
How To Change Windows 8 Startup Programs.
Temporarily turn off any Antivirus software.
Then reinstall the software again.
You will have to follow the same steps to enable all again and turn the Antivirus software back on again.
