Drivers for Nvidia NVS 3100M?

Hello,
which driver is recommended for NVS 3100 in T510? Latest driver from Nvidia site, or latest drivers from Lenovo?
I think they are not same.
Thank you

I tried to install latest driver from nVidia website and there was no problem, so I think it has to be problem on Lenovos side.
So, what can I do right now? Is there any chance that they will fix this?
I dont want to use latest nVidia drivers because I got "driver stop responding" error yesterday. It had recovered, but there was some kind of grafic bug (i got lots of white pixels on screen) so I had to restart my computer..

Can you send me, or point me to a website with a working and well tuned xorg.conf for T510 + NVIDIA NVS 3100M.
I've had a few problems creating one myself and I am sure that many people have good working X configurations.
    I am using Kubuntu 11.04.

For me this works great, just add or replace this section in your xorg, conf

  • Display problems with lenovo T410 with Nvidia NVS 3100M

    Hi,
I am having terrible video display quality in my new T410 with Nvidia 3100M graphics card. While playing SD and HD videos, I get very poor display quality, shadows and broken pixels . I have taken these screen shots to show the issue. I have tried playing HD videos from players and online streaming from Vimeo, but all seem to have same issue.
    http://i.imgur.com/bCh95.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IUONm.jpg
    Nvidia Control Panel http://i.imgur.com/D04wc.png
I can confirm that the quality of the videos is not flawed as I have played same videos on other non HD displays and they look much better. I also have up to date drivers for nvidia. I hope someone can help me improve the display quality of my laptop as it is a major inconvenience. The problem is mostly with video only as images are displayed much better.
    Thanks!

What are you using to play the videos?
Edit: Didn't read propely: "I have tried playing HD videos from players and online streaming from Vimeo, but all seem to have same issue."
Have you tried VLC? Unlike alot of other players it takes care of the decoding itself. Other players might all use the same decoder.

  • T510 w/ NVIDIA NVS 3100M -- Window 7 not recognizing discrete graphics card

    Hi --
I just got a T510 w/ discrete graphics card, ie, the NVIDIA NVS 3100M w/ 512mb of dedicated video memory.
However, when I look in "Performance Information and Tools" under the "View and print detailed performance and system information", I see the graphics as "Intel(R) HD Graphics". Under the "Graphics" section I see this:
    Graphics
    Display adapter type
    NVIDIA NVS 3100M
    Total available graphics memory
    1696 MB
          Dedicated graphics memory
    64 MB
          Dedicated system memory
    0 MB
          Shared system memory
    1632 MB
    Display adapter driver version
    8.17.12.5738
    Primary monitor resolution
    1920x1080
    DirectX version
    DirectX 10
This is a bit confusing, because now it says the adapter is NVIDIA, but the dedicated memory is only 64 MB. Seems odd as I should have 512MB?
    Thanks

I'm fairly certain you can force Optimus to be discrete only or integrated onlyin the BIOS or in some of the Power Manager settings. Otherwise, you can try loading DirectX and seeing what dxdiag tells you about your graphics card.
In addition, Lenovo's implementaiton of Optimus seems to allow you to run certain programs on the IGP and other programs on the discrete chip simultaneously, so it may simply be allocating the Windows benchmark thread to the IGP instead of the NV chip, thereby causing the flawed readings. Don't know exactly how one forces a process to run using the discrete GPU though.

  • T410: From Graphics: Intel GMA HD Integrated Graphics to Graphics: NVIDIA NVS 3100M with 256MB DDR3

Hi, I have a Thinkpad T410. I bought it with integrated graphics card. Now i want to upgrade to the other one: Graphics: NVIDIA NVS 3100M with 256MB DDR3. Is that possible? thanks a lot

You'd have to replace the motherboard.
A better solution would probably be to get an eGPU; it's way way way faster.

  • Update drivers for NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M

Need the updated drivers for NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M that comes with my Vaio Z  VPCZ128GX , the drivers in eSupport are from 2010, and nVidia software does not detect the 330M card
    VPCZ125GX

I've updated my VPCZ1 to 340.43 drivers but it still won't accept the transition to Windows 10, seems like they just want to find any excuse to back out of their promise of a free upgrade for windows 7 users. For anyone who is editing .inf files and still not able to get it to work, you need to update your intel drivers first. The process is a bit awkward, I tried to update the Geforce with a few pre-modded drivers, using the device manager. It would always freeze during installation or ask to reboot and start in 800x600 resolution. I also tried the latest intel drivers but was unable to update them at the time, so I gave up on the idea for a while. Later, I ran into trouble running GTAV, the game would start fine but suddenly crash to desktop while loading. I remembered how the latest driver broke the intel driver, so I rebooted with the laptop in "stamina", installed the latest compatible onboard graphics driver and rebooted in "speed" mode, which incapacitated the 2010 nvidia driver so I had a new "unknown device" under "display adapters" in the device manager. I pointed it to the 340.43 drivers (latest driver I could find for 330m which still uses inf files) which I modified earlier and success, GTAV now runs. Editing inf files is surprisingly simple, just find mention of "330m" in one of the inf files (which are lists of subsys numbers) and replace the subsys number with the one from your card in device manager when using the 2010 drivers. (there are alraedy a lot of them in the inf, I guess it's true that no two 330m are the same) I've always left it on "speed", ever since it booted with the new drivers, The GPU is easily underclockable using Precision X for more battery life. http://i59.tinypic.com/swd3lx.jpg Only side effect I know so far is that the screen rotation doesn't work, although I never tried it with the old driver combo.

  • Anybody found Vista x64 drivers for nVidia GeForce 8600M GT (Macbook Pro)?

These guys at Apple are launching 64-bit Leopard and I still cannot find 64-bit graphics drivers for my laptop under Vista. It makes me sick. Their Boot Camp 1.4 vesion contains only 32-bit drivers.
It's the laptop manufacturer (Apple company) who are responsible for providing me with drivers, not the graphics card manufacturer (nVidia).
I have been waiting for 5 months already and will wait for another 1-2 months and if the drivers don't appear I'm going to sell the laptop because I simply cannot watch DVDs, I cannot play games without properly installed grahics card.
If you have the drivers, please let me know.
    Best regards.

first of all, I think apple will never really "support" windows 64bit...
    anyway
    try -> http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
my vista 32bit works with the drivers from this page.
but u need to read the "Quickstart Guide" before you try installing the drivers

  • A question about video game and drivers for Nvidia

I have recently bought the parallels program and installed Win 7 on my Mac. So far so good. Then I installed a game called Champions Online (PC based). The problem is that when I load the game, it crashes with an error message saying basically that my drivers are not working properly (that's the interpretation from the support team at Champions). They suggested that I delete and reload my drivers for the Nvidia card. How do I do that? If that doesn't work, does anyone have any suggestions as to the solution to my problem?

Parallels and other virtual environments are not meant for games and 3D intensive applications. Run Windows through Boot Camp if you want to play games.

  • Drivers for NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M on my Macbook?

I have been trying to get an answer to my  question re: drivers for my NVDIA card. I have searched the community ( apologies if I overlooked something), but it seems there is no answer. I am not dualbooting my 2013 MacBook ( chipset NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M). I get the error that my card needs updating.
I contacted NVIDIA and their response was as follows:
“We do not have any driver listed for Mac OS for this chipset, you will have to contact Apple and check with them.
The laptop graphic cards are not manufactured by NVIDIA, they are customized, designed and manufactured by the laptop manufactures. Also, for laptops, the primary source of driver update is the driver from the laptop manufacturer”.
Apple, if you haunt these boards,  – can you weigh in on this? Thanks in advance to anyone else who can shed some light on this.

    betababe,
what is giving you the error that your card’s driver needs to be updated?
You will not receive an answer from Apple here. If you want an answer from Apple, contact them directly.

  • Drivers for NVIDIA Geforce 320m (Windows 7).

I've got my new MBP 13", but i don't have a cd with the bootcamp drivers for the video card, because I've lost my recovery DVD. So i'm seeking help with that. I wonder where can i get these drivers, because NVIDIA ones, even beta, not supporting this chip yet. Maybe i can get a recovery dvd iso or dmg somehow. I've got bootcamp 3.0 and 3.1 update installed on my windows machine, but still no luck, because the 3.1 version is dated mid january and my MBP is mid 2010.

Somewhat related, my 13" MacBook Pro with BootCamped XP freezes when I open up BootCamp from the control panel and move the brightness slider/window around. To fix this, I'm trying to install the newest NVidia drivers.
With a NVIDIA GeForce 320M display card installed, trying to install the newest NVidia drivers on XP, I continuously get an error say "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."
One way to solve this, as suggested by someone on another forum, was to install the drivers manually, and at the 99%~100% during installation, when it shows the error message "Your installation cannot continue, will revert back to your old display drivers when you click OK" at which point I don't press OK, but immediately hold the power button down for 5 seconds, after I re-boot, my new drivers work fine.
    Except,
I can't control brightness from the control panel's bootcamp slider, nor keyboard shortcuts, it's continuously 100% brightness.
I've been working on this problem for 2 days, and I can't yet properly install the new NVidia drivers into XP. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • CUDA enabled driver for Nvidia NVS 140M

    Hi,
I want to do some GPU coding on my T61 with Nvidia NVS 140M GPU using the "new" CUDA system. The NVS 140M supports CUDA but the current official driver from Levono (ForceWare 176.93) seems to be lacking CUDA support. When I download the recommended driver for the latest CUDA (2.1) from the Nvidia CUDA site (ForceWare 180.22) it's not installable unless I use the Nvidia Mobility Modder to force the driver to install. Then CUDA programs run fine but the system is kind of unstable. Resuming from stand by or hibernation works only sometimes, mostly screen starts flickering and then BIOS screen appears. So it's not really usable for a laptop computer. Further, ForceWare 176.93 should be able to support CUDA, since CUDA 1.1 is supported from 173.xx on, as this is the recommended driver provided for download.
Does anyone have an idea? It cannot be that I have suitable hardware but cannot use it properly due to some crappy driver policy.
This all relates to Vista x64, with linux there was until now no problem with the latest nvidia driver and resuming.
    Cheers
    Phil

Try the notebook driver for developer here. It worked for me.

  • NVIDIA NVS 3100m

Anyone know of which the correct driver is during install for this particular video card, only managed to find one other post about it and it didn't really seem to fit.

Google says it's a Quatro, so I would go w/ the regular nvidia + nvidia-utils.
Wrong drivers won't damage your card, they simply won't work.

    Hello.
I had a same question and contacted Nvidia Japan technical team.
    Their reply is as follows.
Nvidia will not reliese their new original driver for K5000 ,because K5000 driver is set in OS Mavericks.
Its driver update will be reliesed in accordance with OS update.
In my field ,generally K5000 is fine with Mavericks .Troubels seem to depend on applications.
Only Final Cut Pro X(10.0.9) has a little bit troublesome with K5000. I hear FCP X(10.0.9) is not supporting
K5000 and I'm expecting to a new version of FCP X coming in next month.

  • How to install drivers for nvidia geforce 6800gt for AGP

I might be completely blind, but I have no idea as to how to install the necessary drivers I need for my new (used) graphics card. My card is not displaying properly (doing all this in safe mode) and I'm pretty sure I need the drivers. Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

So sorry for wasting anybody's time. Steve, you're right, the drivers were already there. I missed a very, very small detail on the card and the instructions. There were 2 minuscule pieces of tape that needed to be pulled off from the card (I guess they were left on in case the buyer had a g4. But with a g5, and 8x agp, those two little pieces of tape needed to be pulled off. After I pulled them off and re-installed the card, everything started up immediately and display works! Sorry again, but thanks for the quick response.

  • New T410 with NVIDIA NVS 3100m Optimus switchable graphics

Does anyone know how to enable the switchable graphics feature on these machines.

    Hi ts4673!
The beauty of Optimus is that switching occurs automatically. It is enabled by default, and automatically optimizes the choice of graphics processor, so you don't have to worry about managing the switchable graphics.
If you want to temporarily override Optimus' choice for an application, right click on the application and choose (assuming the context menu is enabled). You can set your choice permanently using the Nvidia Control Panel.
    Hope this helps!
