Drivers for printers I don't have

I seem to be having a different problem than most. My printer works fine and has the current driver. Unfortunately I also have about a dozen drivers installed on my computer for printers I don't own and never have. I can manually uninstall all the drivers and they return the next time I plug in my printer. This wouldn't be an issue except at start up my computer spends an inordinate amount of time updating drivers for machines it never finds. Then, about once a day, I get one of those irritating warranty update notices for a printer I don't have. Each one has a different expiration date too.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
That is just plain odd.
I am inferring from what you say that you are indeed uninstalling the unwanted printer software programs you do not want from Programs and Features, yes?
Some ideas...
Create a Restore Point:
Restore Point XP OR Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR Create a restore point Win8
Next:
If you have not already done so:
Control Panel > set icon view > Programs and Features >
Scroll down, find the Printer program(s) you do not want > Right-Click on the program > Uninstall
Next:
See the following:
Pop-up Messages – HP UPdates
Set it the Updates to Notify and then >> Switch off the Updates, that is, set the timeframe to "Never".
Be sure you Restart / Reboot the system after the changes...

And, if still no joy...clear the device manager and then reinstall the printer software.
If you are using a Notebook:
Close all your programs and shut down the computer
Disconnect everything (little Unifier for the keyboard / external mouse can stay)
Perform the Hard Reset for your notebook model
Boot the computer and log in
ELSE, if you are using a Desktop computer:
Close all your programs and shut down the computer
Disconnect USB drives, speakers, other unnecessary devices
Unplug the computer for thirty seconds
Connect the power (plug in)
Reconnect devices
Start / Boot the computer and log in
Reminder: This Hard Reset is just a device Reset. The procedure does not wipe out your files nor does it destroy your Windows setup in any way. This type of reset "clears the cobwebs". Depending on the root cause of the problem, this procedure can fix a variety of computer glitches.
Next:
You might reinstall the main printer software, that is, install the Full Feature Software for the printer that you DO have:

I keep getting error messages that say "HP Color LaserJet 3600 doesn't have a driver" and "HP LaserJet 4000 Series doesn't have a driver" but I don't have either of these HP models and I don't think I ever did. I'm using Snow Leopard and find that auto-update is constantly wanting to update printer drivers for printers i do not own, but might have had connected in the past. How can I disable these printers? I've spotlight searched through my system and cannot find where these printer profiles are located.

You don't need to install the older version, you only need the serial number from your original purchase. If you don't have them to hand, did you register? If so, they should be in your Adobe account. If not you really need to contact Adobe, though it isn't clear they will be able to do anything without some proof of purchase etc.

App Store sends updates for Apps I don't have.

App Store keeps offering me updates for Apps I don't have installed on my iMac.
e.g. Angry Birds.
If I click to Update I get a message "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID".

Thank you for this information. I deleted a rogue App and it has solved the phantom updates appearing. However now App Store now seems to hang with the "circle of death" checking for updates. Could this be related to another topic I have raised:

When connecting iTunes with an iPad or iPhone, the Apps page no longer lists the Apps installed on the device. It does however show all of the installed Apps in the screen facsimiles on the right hand side of the page. The Apps count top right of the page is also correct.
Could it be that both are trying to reach the App Store server?
Internet connectivity is fine for other applications on the same iMac and for all devices I have connected to the internet via WiFi.

I have a 27 in. iMac with the latest version of Snow Leopard. When Lion comes out, will it be software I purchase and download online? I am trying to prepare for cost and don't have a point of reference, having been a Windows guy until last summer.

I want to know what to expect in terms of moving from one OS to another. Having been a Windows guy until last summer, my only experience is going from one version of Windows to another, which is usually a fairly costly purchase. I will want to go to Lion, but as a retired teacher, my income is fixed. I am not looking for a specific price, I am sure that is unknown, but I would just like to know help Apple does these things so I won't be sadly surprised.

Historically Apple has sold OS X upgrades via DVD media however with the advent of the Mac Apple Store that throws another possibility into the mix. That's about as much as I can say as these forums don't allow us to speculate about future products. As for the cost historically Apple has priced OS X upgrades between $29-$129, the last upgrade (Snow Leopard) was only $29 but that was an exception. Again we cannot speculate on these forums about that. The good news is that Apple is unlike Microsoft which makes OS upgrades expensive and complicated. The choice with OS X is do you want a server version (most users don't need one) or a single computer license. The users that buy server versions tend to have a number of Macs they manage from a server, most consumers don't have this issue.

Upgrades on OS X are usually very simple. I've upgraded from Tiger to Leopard to Snow Leopard and each transition has been very easy. With any major OS upgrade there are some basic rules to follow, for example always, always, always backup prior to any update. When Lion is released to the general public post again for what to do to prepare or even do a Google search on "How to prepare for OS X upgrade" and you will find a number of articles that will provide some suggestions and valuable insight. I hate to say this about E-MU but the way they are dealing with Vista Drivers is unprofessional. I am a repeat customer of Creative products and was so impressed by my old Platinum eX that I bought a second to run duals for tons of audio processing. That was back in the day. Then I jumpped ship and tried out an M-Audio Firewire 40. That did not last too long beforei was completely unimpressed. So I came back to Creative... Purchased a 820 in the box. So impressed I turned around and purchased a 66 in the box just 8 months later. Both ran smooth as butter... All until i just recently built my new system designed primarily with audio production in mind.
With a setup like this, who needs a mac?

E-MU is caught pushing release dates.
Last month it said they would release beta drivers middle of April...
I waited, patiently I might add.
I waited<waited some more, I try running xp drivers... computer wont even try to install them properly.
My software waits, computer waits, turns into a gameing machine just because my all together 600 dollar investments in Creative are not important enough to leld me the drivers i need to be producti've in what i love.
I need x64 drivers stat. I need them working, I need them installable without a glitch, a hitch, no driver signing problems, no questions, no fuss no muss. I find it ironic that you guys at E-MU are willing to jump right in there and make sure to have drivers compatable for you new products, yet faithful advocats of the most powerful soundcards you have are sitting here dead in the water because you dont find it nessesary to place priority on ready and waiting end users who have purchased long term support buy investing large amounts of moola into hardware from your company.
Come on, its not like the 820 or the 66 are exactly legacy technology. We are talking about Hardware that is only two years old and should be usable for up to 6 years. This is deffinatly a strike against the company and just goes to show where Creative stands.
I have stood by waiting in silence for a very long time.
Now i think my time has come to tell how i feel and i believe there are alot of others out there that feel the same. the only items that do not work soothly are my E-MUs... go figure.
And I have been looking forward to all i can do running both of them side by side.
Oh yes, and that link posted above to the beta news for vista... its a joke. open up your betas, and have a real dev tell us what the hang ups are... At least give us real concreate reasons why it is taking so long.
with that said, when you guys get yoru act together and get me some drivers, I will sit happy as a lark.

sorry for my bad english
I already checked that page. On the first time I was trying to install Vista on a clean hard drive. The installation process finishes without errors but after installation Vista shows me a lot of error messages, mostly about unknown hardware. So I installed all available drivers I have found on Toshiba web site. It not helped me too much, hardware problems still remains. I could not find out what exactly causes probles. Finally I decide to install XP and then upgrade to Vista. Now everything seems to be ok. :D
There was some hardware problems but much easier to resolve. It seems to me that Toshiba did not provide all the drivers, for example StarForce Protection drivers. Vista did not recognized this hardware on the first time.
Now it works!

I'd like it so that they only see the directories they can access, like ABE.

Submitting photos for artists that don't have one

I love Spotify for including not only the commercially succesful music but recordings of ALL type.
However, many times some of the unfamous artists don't have photos or bios. It would be great if users could submit these and if appropriate to update the artists' information. Perhaps it would be best if the photos and bios reach the representatives of the artists.

Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)

You find a computer with iTunes on it, plug your phone in and restore it. it's in recovery mode. you don't have a choice.

Bluetooth drivers for printers

I have just got a bluetooth usb for my canon mp600, the problem is though that
the disc supplied is the mini sized version which I am told not to insert into my mac mini.
So the adding new device keeps failing and needs these drivers....ANY IDEAS WHERE I CAN THE DRIVERS ONLINE???? OR IS THERE ANOTHER WAY ROUND IT?
