Drivers for windows xp, Dual Booting issue

I have recently purchased a mac Book pro the 13 inch model, it came with lion installed by default this means boot camp only works for 7
So ive partioned my disk using boot camp and installed Xp onto the partioned part of the hd
Obviously the issue with this is that boot camp wont let me burn a disk for the drivers as it only supports 7
so really i need someway of getting the drivers, after googling for a while i couldnt find anything so if anyone has any suggestions it would be most appreciated.
Drivers would be for such thing as the wirelsess card, sound, graphics chip etc

XP is not supported in Lion or by the newer Apple computers. There are no XP drivers for lion or for the newer hardware. This issue has been discussed repeatedly in the Boot Camp forum: https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp

  • Lenovo Z585 Ubuntu 13.04 / Windows 8 Dual Boot Issue - Wake from Suspend?

As the title says. I have been having an issue with waking the screen on my laptop after going into suspend from Ubuntu 13.04. (Also, same problem on Ubuntu 12.10 and Fedora 18)
When I close the lid, the computer will go into standby normally. Lights go out, and power light just blinks. Upon opening the lid I get the lights on the computer to come back and the fans come back on, however the screen stays black.
    I have the following:
Processor: AMD A10-4600M APU with Radeon HD Graphics x 4
Driver: Gallium 0.4 on AMD ARUBA
I have tried updating drivers through Ubuntu. I have tried modifying the backlight controls through editing the grub.
I have tried several re-installs of multiple versions of the listed Linux above.
No matter what I do, I have the same issue(s) on all three versions.
A seperate issue is a weak wifi signal using the installed Broadcom wifi antenna. Sitting next to the router I only get about 60% strength. If I plug in my Belkin USB wireless antenna I get 100%.
    Any help would be great!

  • How and where do I download and install a DVD R Drive for Windows 7 dual boot?

I was prompted to have a DVD R Drive in order to burn the ISO of Windows 8 Consumer Release Preview on my Windows 7 running operationg system on my MacBook Pro. I just realized that I do not have the driver when I checked "My Computer". Hence, I could not burn the ISO file onto my blank DVD.

you can if you have 30-40GB free space use the setup program to install 8 and archive 7, that leaves 7 there in place.

Boot Camp doesn't install the drivers. You have the drivers on a separate USB device if you followed directions. Once in Windows connect the USB drive with the driver software. It should startup automatically and install the drivers.
You don't even need to do that. As downloading the drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant can be unreliable, it is better to get the package directly from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638
Copy the .zip file to a USB flash drive or burn it to a DVD in OS X. Install Windows as normal, insert the flash drive/DVD in Windows, copy the .zip file to the hard drive, extract it, then run the setup executable.

  • Boot Camp drivers for windows (download)

I am trying to instal windows 7 on my MacBook Pro thru Boot Camp. Does anyone know where I can download the Boot Camp drivers for windows. I can't find them on the apple website and I don't have my Mac OS X instal DVD with me.
    Thank you

Are they essential or can I run windows 7 on my Macbook Pro without the bootcamp drives
Only if you don't mind a Windows system lacking most features and thus beaing nearly unuseable.
Applying the appropriate drivers for hardware support is a must for all operating systems.

  • Unable to install Boot Camp Drivers for Windows

Mac Pro (2) 3.2 Xeon quads
    Mac OS 10.5.2
Boot Camp side - Windows XP pro x64 w/SP2
Step 3 listed in the instructions for setting up Boot Camp is to Install the Boot Camp drivers for Windows. At this point Windows recognizes my Mac Install disk 1. I get the following message: "the installer encountered errors before Boot Camp could be configured. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again." I am not sure if I needed to do something to install the Service Pack 2? My firmware is at MP31.006C.B02 and 1.25f4. When I checked for the latest firmware, it returned a message that it was not necessary.
Maybe the XP pro x64 is not compatible?

When trying to install boot camp drivers, a message came up saying:
Boot Camp requires that your computer is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista.
The only option it gave me was to click the "OK" button. When I clicked OK , another message came up saying:
Boot Camp Installer completed. The install encountered errors before Boot Camp could be configured. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again. Click "finish" to exit installer. I am running a brand new full retail version of windows xp service pack 2. Applecare will not help blaming Microsoft and of course Microsoft is blaming Apple. What a bunch of useless crap!! Can anyone help??

  • Cannot get Boot Camp drivers (for Windows XP) installed

I've partitioned my Time Machine HD for the 32GB/FAT format of Windows XP/Home Edition w/SP2. The installation of Windows proceeded OK. However, after installing Windows, ejecting the W-Install disc, and inserting my MAC OS X Leopard disc, the "setup.exe" file does not open. If I start up in Windows, I cannot open the Opt. Disc drawer since the BC drivers are not installed; if I insert the OS X disc in the drawer, then restart in Windows, the "setup.exe." file does not open.
Where do I go from here to install the Boot Camp drivers for Windows? These drivers are needed for 'normal' Windows operation, and are required in order to install the Boot Camp update. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi David,
while you are in Windows and have the Leopard DVD inserted, can you access the content of it using the Windows Explorer ?
or maybe this hint on MacOSXHints can help you access the Windows Content of your Leopard DVD while in OSX http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080708145453136
If so, you can try to copy the Windows Content onto a USB Memory Stick and use it to install the drivers.
    Good Luck

  • Using bootcamp 5.1, Windows 7 home is installed but missed installing the drivers disk. How to install the Mac drivers for windows after the fact.

While using Bootcamp 5.1, and OS X 10.8.2, I partitioned my Mac disk with 80 Gigs for Windows 7 home and the install went great, but I must have missed the time when I was to install the Mac drivers disk to install the drivers for Windows,(when in Windows I don't have a mouse or optical drive.)  Is there a way to install the drivers after Windows is installed, or do I have to go through the whole process all over again?

Press X key after the startup sound to boot into OS X. Then, open Boot Camp Assistant, download Boot Camp drivers and burn them into a USB drive or DVD. Finally, boot in Windows and install drivers

  • Cannot backup Windows 7 (dual-boot) image to external HD (formated as Mac OS Extended)

I cannot backup my Windows 7 (dual-boot) image to my external HD (formated as Mac OS Extended). I installed MacDrive 8.0 hoping to solve the problem but Windows 7 gives me an error when I try to create a backup: "...drive is not formatted as NTFS, cannot use as backup...".
I also tried making an Image of the Windows 7 partition through Disk Utility but was not allowed to do so.
I am not sure where else to go from here. I need to keep my external hard drive formatted as Mac OS Extended but I also need to backup my Windows 7 partition. I only have the single external at the moment. Is there a way to backup my Windows 7 partition?
    Thanks

Winclone will backup your Windows partition to a Mac formatted drive.
Just search for Winclone on this forum and on Goggle.

  • How Do I Install Apple Drivers For Windows XP?

Okay, so I have a 15 inch mid 2012 MacBook Pro that is running OS X Mavericks. After many attempts, I managed to install Windows XP 32 bit as a secondary operating system on the HDD using Disk Utility. The only devices that Windows XP recognised upon the installation were the keyboard and the trackpad. I then inserted a Snow Leopard disc to install the Apple Drivers for Windows XP and it appeared as though the drivers got installed(the Boot Camp icon appeared on the taskbar next to the digital clock). However, when I restarted windows, none of the devices other than the keyboard and the trackpad worked. Does this imply that the drivers didn't get installed? If so, why is this and how can I install the drivers? If the drivers did get installed, why aren't the devices working? Please help me out, if possible. Thanks in advance.

It does not work because you are running Mavericks and trying to use non-Mavericks drivers for an operating system (XP) that is not support on your hardware or your operating system.

  • HT1461 I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now

I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp already, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now: I've got only BootCamp 3 disk and it doesn't goo even if I start it using compatibility options. And my BootCamp on Mac didn't offer me to burn cd with drivers for windows as I saw in many instructions. How can I resolve the problem? Thanks a lot.

Go back to Boot Camp: on the 2nd page you get this:
Download the support software and as Windows is already installed uncheck the 2nd box.

  • How to download macbook pro (mid 2010) drivers for windows 7, without the included DVD (lost) ?

    Hello everyone,
I am facing a problem with bootcamp on my Macbook pro 15" (Mid 2010, running Mos OS 10.6.6).
I have successfully installed windows 7 via Bootcamp, but I lost the Drivers DVD furnished by Apple.
I tried to download these using Bootcamp (v3.0.4), but bootcamp won't let me save it, i get this error :
"the windows support software could not be saved to the selected folder"
An Apple support article has been made for this problem ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3648 ), but it doesn't solve the problem in my case because I lost the furnished DVD.
So here I am, struck on this drivers issue...
    So, my question is :
How to download macbook pro (mid 2010) drivers for windows 7, without the included DVD (lost) ?
Thank you for your help !
    Regards

Aw, and I forgot, being in Thailand, they do not sell the installation DVD.
