I'm trying to schedule the Windows 10 upgrade and receive the message "this version of Windows not available for Windows 10 app". I have Win7 SP3, enough memory, everything else it says it requires. the only thing I can't verify is the graphics driver. What might the problem be?

I am using a HP G62a50sg ( APU ATI HD4250 Mobility and ATI HD 5470 Mobility ) . The Windows 10 Update showed that there were no compatabilty problems and I did the upgrade. Everything works fine only the graphics are the problem. I have installed Windows 10 64 bit (Clean) around 5 times and tried all the drivers starting from Windows 7 , Windows 8 ,orginal Notbook drivers von HP and also from AMD ( CC 15.7 Mobility) . Nothing seems to work. Windows 10 reconizes the graphics but doesn`t support the switchable graphic funktion. I think it is an issue with the APU HD4250 Mobility and the Chipset. The desktop has only the 1024 X 768 option and in the graphics manager ( desktop) shows the Graphics as Basic Microsoft Display Driver. I am still trying but I am running out of ideas.

Yet more shoddy treatment of those who bought in to win phone 7. Makes me feel foolish for recommending windows phone to friends and colleagues. "We want everyone to experience the best Skype has to offer" and your way of doing this is to take it away!
My next phone is unlikely to be a win phone 8, and I'll look at alternatives to skype.

Merant Driver is not available for Windows 7 to create data warehouse table

Hi All,
I had installed Database, OBIA, DAC and Informatica in windows 7 64 bit. Installation is successful.
To create data warehouse tables through DAC, we need merant driver. But Merant driver is not available in windows 64bit.
I followed the below procedue to create a merant driver.
"C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe"
Executed odbcad32.exe, and I found the merant driver in the list, when i try to create DSN, I am getting the following error.
Specified Driver could not be loaded due to system error 193: (Oracle Merant Driver in DAC 10g_Oracle-OH1635326477, c:\orahome\10gR3_1\bifoundation\dac\utilities\DataDirectODBC\seor820.dll).
Can any one please provide me the solution.

I know the docs say you must use the merant driver however did you try a normal oracle odbc connnection. I am sure i did this in the past.
BTW I hope this is just your laptop and you are playing around. I do'nt think Windows 7 is a supported environment. You should consider a supported platform for production and maybe a virtual machine on your windows 7 machine in development so you can practice the install.

When will Bootcamp drivers be available for Windows 8?

I am unable to load Win8 using Bootcamp. The forums say drivers are currently not available for Bootcamp from Apple? Does anyone know when the drivers will be available?

Flash lite 3.1 not available for windows device?

Hi! Can anybody help me here?
I've been developing stand alone flash apps for windows mobiles with flash lite 2.1 with no problems!
The company I'm developing for has switched to Vodafone V1520's (Asus p550) running windows mobile 6 Professional.
I've ran flash lite 2.1 with no problems on the device. I've decided to upgrade to 3.1 as it's a fresh install for all 2000 units.
My problem is, When I install the app using Adobe mobile packager, the device comes back with the error " Adobe flash lite is not available for this device"!! I know flash lite 2.1 works.
Is there a way to manually install 3.1 on the device?

Reader XI not available for Windows Vista. Why?

I have just tried to install Reader XI, but I keep being directed to Reader X. Looking at the Technical Specs. Windows Vista is not listed. An over sight? What is going on?

I have Reader XI on my Win 7 office computer. I have Vista on my home computer and tried different links to get to the Reader XI download page, but I too kept getting redirected to the X download page.
When I found the "previous versions" page http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ I tried inputing different OSs (XP, Vista and 7) and discovered XI is not available for Vista. Obviously the auto-redirect is due to Adobe.com detecting my OS.
I'm not overly concerned. I mean, ver X works fine for what I need it for at home. The only reason I came here (to the forum) was to find out 'why'.

Quicktime export not available for Windows 8?

Hello,
I have imported .mov footage from my Canon 60D into a Premiere project and edited it on the timeline. It plays fine in Premiere. I would like to export it in the same format. I go File -> Export -> Media and in the format dropdown "Quicktime" or "MOV" are not available.
I tried installing Quicktime from the Apple site, it didn't affect the export setting in Premiere. The version of Quicktime I installed was an x86 for Windows 7 version, I could not find a 64bit or Windows 8 version.
I am on Windows 8 64 bit with CS6 Master Collection.
Does anyone know how I get Quicktime into my export format options?

You're honestly better off not using QT.

We have never had any issues in using QT in a cross platform, cross facilty workflow.
My peers and colleagues agree.
Thing is Jim..if one works within a cross platform, cross facilty workflow...one often runs into QT. eg Uncompressed .mov (8, 10, 16 bit) required. Not AVI or H264!.
They wont change setups based on Jim Simons humble opinion on all things Apple.

Patch 4329444 still not available for windows??

I've done a fresh install of GC 10gR2 on windows. I planned to upgrade it to 10gR3 today but the patch 4329444 that the documentation says to install is not available on metalink? It's available for Linux only..the doco says it should be available in Feb 2007.
So is anyone running R3 on windows? if so, did you just bypass the patch?

Got a response from Oracle...
Support said to do the upgrade on the database to 10.2 and then follow the other steps. The weird thing is if you check the Grid Control Checker, it says 10.1.0.4+ is supported for 10gR3 OMS...which makes me wonder why do i have to bother with the upgrade.
If anyone is running GC 10gR3 on windows, i would like to know what they did..

Adaptec SCSI Drivers (29160) Availability for Windows 7?

Attempting to "clean" install Windows 7 on SCSI Hard Disks, via Adaptec 29160 controller.
The install doesn't 'see' the SCSI controller.
I'm assuming its a driver issue.
The installation cannot proceed.
Can the Vista Driver be used? Or do I need a Windows 7 specific SCSI driver?
If the Vista SCSI driver can be used how does one use the Vista driver with a "Clean" install?

you will find the list of supported parallel scsi cards is very short. I was running an AHA 2940U2W which has served very well for may years only to find no support under Windows 7 and no plans for support in the future, which seems to be the case for almost anything that isn't current. I tried the Vista driver, but that refused to install (Windows actually blocked it), so I have had to upgrade to the only card that supports standard 50pin SCSI2 and 68pin Ultra modes, the ASC29320A-R. Unfortunately, this may be the route you have to take to get things working, but be wary. I have a couple of old CD-ROM drives including a quad speed Toshiba tray loader that I find can read damaged discs that modern fast drives reject. Unfortunately, these old drives are not supported by Windows 7 and cause the SCSI bus to keep resetting virtually stalling the machine when disc access is required. Disabling the drives in device manager helps most of the time, but now and again the bus will go into the reset loop and the only way out is to reboot. So, I'm going am having to replace them with something more modern and put together a second machine using the old hardware for recovering damaged discs. I am deeply unimpressed with the hardware support in modern versions of Windows. Right up to XP virtually any hardware could be used. Now it seems it has to be the most recent or it won't work.

Upload Multiple Pictures function not available for 64-bit Windows and IE 11

Hello!
The problem is as follows:
1) Open Picture library;
2) Open "Upload".
Result: "Upload Multiple Pictures" function is missing. Only "Upload Picture" functions is available.
Specs of my PC = Win 8.1 64-bit + IE 11 + Office 2013 64-bit + Shp Developer Tools 2010.
I have also tried the following configurations and they also doesn't work:
A. Win 7 64-bit + IE 11 + Office 2010 32-bit;
B. Win 8.1 64-bit + IE 11 + Office 2010 64-bit;
C. Win 8.1 64-bit + IE 11 + Office 2010 32-bit.
It does work for IE 10, but that's not the case.
Some more notes:
- For Office 2010 Picture Manager worked fine;
- STSUpld.UploadCtl.dll works fine, I can upload multpile documents;
- Tried to switch on Private browsing, put site in trusted sites.
Do you have some more ideas where to look for a solution? For me it looks like deadend already, I have tried almost everything what I could find on google.

HI Roland,try checking this with the Firefox or chrome.
So if you are one of few that are using IE11.you have probably noticed many corruptions and misbehaves in UI. So far I have discovered the following problems:
1.     Calendar web part is extremely corrupted
2.     You will click Settings > Edit Page, Pages will not enter edit mode.
3.     Web Part Properties cannot be modified.
So until we get official CU or SP from SharePoint team, run your sites in compatibility mode.
How to run Compatibility mode: Please find the ways to get the mode.
Way 1:
1.   Press ALT + T when viewing your SharePoint page
2.   Click Compatibility View Settings in the menu that appears
3.   Click Add to add the current SharePoint site to your list of compatibility view pages
4.   Click Close
