Drivers-RIP-emulators for Xerox WorkCenter M24 with NO Postscript ?

Dear All,
OK, silly question as I can't find an answer at this time, but.. is there a way to print from Mac OS 10.4.x to a networked Xerox WorkCentre M24 with NO postscript card/extension ? Xerox drivers are working fine as long as the postscript card is added.
I've checked the WEB and couldn't find anything about it. Gimp-print doesn't support the M24, but if there's an alternative solution with a RIP or a PCL 5 or PCL5 emulator under OS X ?

Thank you so much Greg! It worked to make my Xerox PE120 print from 10.4. You just saved me from a big headache, since I wasn't told when I purchased the machine that it wasn't supposed to be Mac-compatible (only the PE120i has the proper PS fonts, etc.). Now if I can find a software that will allow it to scan over USB, I'm set.

PASTA driver for Xerox Workcenter?

Hi,
i've set PASTA Universal driver for my Xerox Workcente Pro 55 and i use CUPS for install and manage the printers, in CUPS i've choose HP laserjet drivers.
The cups test page is ok, but when i print from EBS with style LANDSCAPE of PASTA, the rows are truncated at left margin.
There is some driver that working with Xeorx WorkCenter?

Thanks for trying guys, but no joy. I have been to the Xerox website. I can't even find the printer listed anymore.
I tried the HP suggestion to no avail. Should I try more of the HP drivers or was the series 6 my best hope?
It is a work printer and as I live in Korea at he moment the only computer attached to it has a Korean version of XP. Looks like I will have to struggle through.

Is there a workaround for a print driver to run on Lion for an old Xerox Workcenter M15i

I have an older Xerox Workcenter M15i. I am trying to use this printer using a new macbook pro running lion. The Xerox web site does not offer a print driver. Does anyone know of a workaround?

I just upgraded to OSX 10.7.4 and my xerox m15i acts squirrelly someties. I am pretty sure a new driver would help.

I could not find a MF-4430 at the Canon site. Are you sure the model is correct? They have a MF4450. The Mac drivers are here:

If you are sure you have a MF4430, look around the canon site for the drivers.

Download and run this driver. You will probably get an unsupported operating system error.

Close out of any error windows.
Go to the device manager and click on the video controller needing drivers.
Click on the driver tab. Click on update driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp34749.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.
Reboot and your graphics should be working normally.
You will not have Windows aero because the Intel GMA 900 graphics adapter is not 100% Vista or W7 capable but at least you will be able to change the screen resolution and have graphics acceleration enabled.

Xerox Workcenter 3545 Accounting issues

This is a tale of two different installations of the Xerox Workcenter 3545 printer driver, one that works, and one that does not.
I have an older core duo 17 inch macbook pro running 10.6.8 with the Xerox driver installed (driver version 10.4, PPD file version 1.6.0). It loads and the accounting plugin for the driver loads and works. My friend, on a newer core 2 duo 15 inch macbook pro running 10.6.8, has the driver installed, but the accouting plugin does NOT load (eg, there is a menu entry for it, but it has a line though it in the printing dialog). Now, we both downloaded and installed the driver from the same website within minutes of each other. Its the same driver.
Looking for suggestions for what might make it work on her mac. I've suggested she download and install it again and reboot. Any other ideas?

There are permission problems with the drivers supplied by Xerox. To fix them, open the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities). Enter the following command (copy and paste) into the Terminal window and hit Return or Enter. You will be prompted for you administrator's password. Please note that nothing will appear on the screen as you enter you password. This is for security reasons. After you have entered your password, hit the Return or Enter key again.

Printing from an Intel Mac via a network to Xerox Workcenter Pro 3545 error

After 1 1/2 hours on the phone with Xerox person who's not familiar with Mac, removing all PPDs, running disk utility to repair permissions and downloading and reinstalling the latest PPDs from Xerox, I still get this error message "The process 'XeroxWCPFilter' stopped unexpectedly with status 20". Does anyone know what this means and how to solve the problem? This was preceeded by the printer not collating properly.

I am using OS 64 bit Windows Vista Home Premium and recently updated the latest version of iTunes. (I only have this CD burning software on my Laptop). Ever since updating, I received the message 'Registry settings for the iTune drivers are missing for CD burning'. The drivers for Lower and uppper filters in the registry are missingand I now have no optical drive. I have unistalled and reinstalled Itunes and manually entered the filters. Have tried everything including something called GEAR driver installer which was suggested on several technical sites. Everything was working fine in iTunes until I updated it.. It's strange I can still import music but not burn?? Friend s have told me they have ha dthe same problem when updating iTunes but resolved the problem by uninstalling/reinstalling or altering registry keys.
Today I went to use my Epson Printer and now have problems with it not working. I decided to uninstall/ install printer software and still can't get it to work either. I may be wrong but his all seems connected to me?
I have been trying for days to get telephone support and been told today you have to pay
Please can someone help me before I throw the lot out the window!!!!

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.
Sorry, just this minute went to insert image and it is giving me a message saying this sort of content is not allowed?.

Problem with Xerox XA7-17i with a Macbook Intel ore duo

Hi - please help
I have recently got a Xerox XA17-17i monitor to use as a second display for my new Macbook but it doesn't seem to receive any signal from the mac - the screen is blank and doesn't respond.
The Xerox works fine with my sons mac mini which has a DVI connection on the back which the Xerox plugs strait into.
On the Macbook I connected with a mini dvi to vga adapter that I already had plus a vga to DVI so to connect on to the DVI adapter from the monitor.
What is also strange is if I boot Windows XP sing bootcamp I get the initial XP starting screen with the blue dots starting then the screen goes blank on the macbook for a second and the Xerox goes dead.
I know that the macbook recognizes the monitor as when I gather the windows under screen preferences it shows one for the Xerox XA7-17i - also when mirroring is off the cursor can disappear off the side of the macbook screen as though it's going onto the Xerox but all is blank.
I've tried altering the screen resolution under Display on the macbook and both mirroring on and off but no joy -
Please help!!

I have had the same problem with a Xerox XAP 192i. I am using bootcamp on the mackbook. The monitor works fine under Windows Vista. But I get the same problems as described before when I connect it under MacOS (using the VGA adapter).
I purchased the said adaptor but they are not compatible with the monitor as it has four extra pins around the big flat pin. Have you managed to find a compatible adaptor? I only tried the Apple shop in Regent Street.
Have you had more luck with it?

I think MP4 is better quallity.
To copy a DVD: simply use Toast (maybe withe popcorn, but I don't use it).

Windows users are spoiled with EAC, widely regarded as the best CD ripping application. What is considered the best ripping application for the Mac? How does iTunes ripping algorithm compare?

Unfortunately, there isn't really anything out there on the Mac that is equivilant to EAC. The closest thing that I am aware of is an old command-line utility called cdda2wav that uses something called Paranoia for error correction. There are a few different GUI front-ends for this utility, one of the more popular being xACT: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/21952
However, cdda2wav and Paranoia are useless for error correction if the CD drive operates with any cache. Because virtually every modern CD drive (and all of the optical drives that Apple uses, AFAIK) does indeed cache, there is really little point in using xACT for ripping. iTunes' error correction is pretty much the best we have at the moment.

RIP software for printing vector art to an Epson 7880?

I'm looking to print several 18x24 inch posters that are 100% vector art out of Adobe Illustrator to my Epson Stylus Pro 7880. Apparently Epson printers don't support Postscript, so when I print from Illustrator my vector lines appear pixelated. I'm now looking at RIP software for OS X that will translate the postscript language from Illustrator but I'm not sure which software would be the best choice. Most of it is out of my price range as I'm just running off a few posters at home. Can anyone offer advice for affordable OS X RIP software? Thanks!

Imported RAW images badly corrupted, looks like red paint splashed all over the sky. Photoshop and Iphoto have no problem with the images from my D800E. Aperture worked fine for me in June with the same camera. The Nikon software shows no problem.

I am having a problem importing my images into Aperture 3 from my Nikon D800E. The images appear as if red paint was splashed across the sky. The Nikon software used to transfer from the camera does not show this problem and Photoshop 6 is fine with the images exported as jpg from the Nikon software. Aperature does not even like the jpg images usable by Photoshop. I am suspecting that Aperture is not correctly using the camera raw file. Also, the histograms are radically different between the corrupted images and the Photoshop (good) versions. Aperture worked just fine for me in June with the same camera. All drivers and software are current as of this posting. Anyone else out there seen this before??

Are you sure you do not have Highlight Hot & Cold Areas turned on? (View->Highlight Hot & Cold Areas)?
The bug in Digital Camera raw only affected Raw images. In your first post you wrote:
Aperature does not even like the jpg images usable by Photoshop
If the JPG's have the same problem then it isn't this bug.
