The PM stands for Private Messenger or something like that. It is the little grey envelope icon on the top of this page and to the right.

  • New VIA Drivers and Live-Update

I noticed the latest VIA drivers are not yet available for download using MSI's Live Update prgram. Is it ok to download them seperately from the official VIA site? Or should I just wait for the Live Updater to get them?
    Just Wondering...

     :D
I only used Live Update for a limited time ... mostly because there was too much time between launching an new driver and the driver becoming available through Live Update. The VIA drivers are available for more than a week, I think.

  • Unsigned Drivers for Live! Cam Chat HD

I just bought this product today. When trying to install through the Creative Live! Cam Chat HD Starter Pack (Lite version), Windows 7 SP 1 sends up an error stating that the drivers are not signed and therefore cannot be used. After install, the live app does not see the camera. The Device driver notes that the following two drivers appear not to be signed:
    CtClsFlt.sys
    ksthunk.sys
    Any ideas?

Did you RTFM? Sorry couldn't resist. So firstly, don't plug the camera in until directed by the setup program. This is a general rule of thumb for any USB device. Also Are you logged in as an Administrator? just to make double sure right click the setup programs icon and click run as administrator. You could even disable UAC for a few minutes if that still didnt work. Also you should be able to install unsigned drivers no problem unless you are on a work system with a policy in place forbidding this ability. In which case you probably aren't an admin in the first place. If you are not comfortable with any of the options I described go find a school aged male and any one of them should get ya up and running in 5 mins ;-) Sorry couldn't resist again.

  • Updated sound drivers, but Live Update still shows I have older version?

I updated my onboard sound card drivers last night, and I came back to msi live to make sure, and it says that I am still on version 5.10.00.5420, while the online version is 5.10.00.5560...this is how it was last night before I updated..

MSI Live update has a new version out, 3.6. Note #4
Found this in the following thread: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threadid=52456&sid= .  Might solve the problem.

  • Problem updating chipset drivers w-Live update

    Hi,
I don't think my problem is directly related to live update but when I try to update to the current via chipset drivers, the setup seems to go fine and all files are extracted properly, but right when I click install,, near the end of the setup,, I get this....the error, Can't run 16-bit Windows program. It reads Cannot find C:\Documents and settings{the path to the temp directory\setup.exe (or one of its components).  It cant find the setup. I think It's related to my user account. I am logged on as administrator. Has anyone ever had this problem ? I only started experiencing this after I deleted an old user profile. Live update has allways worked just fine. Can I show setup the correct path ?? by the way, this happens even when I try manually without using live update. Help ?
This is a great mobo. I have never had a problem with the MSI products I've used.

    goggle found me this
Ok, I believe I found a workaround. Source of the issue, according to some XP forums, is Windows XPs issue to handle 16-bit programs without limitations ... or 321Studio's idea to use those applications. More specifically, XP has issues to handle 16-bit applications which are in subdirectories longer than 8 characters, e.g. C:\Program Files\321 Studio\....\etc. You can either tinker with the way XP treats these 16-bit programs in the registry (I am neither good enough nor brave enough for this) or you just alter the length of the directories.
Anyway, here is what I did:
Install the downloaded DVDXCOPY into a short directory, e.g. C:\DVDXCOPY (that may or may not have been key, but ist was part of succeeding).
Then I copied the entire driver_install file into a newly created short folder called C:\Short (and that was definetely key to succeed!)
Then I ran the setup exe file in the copied driver_install folder ... and voila! Program installed, 16-bit or not.
And what is more, after a restart a did my first project (Bridget Jones PAL) and it worked.
im not a via user, have you win rar
put the d/l in a folder right click extract here
if a new exe is revealed try installing it with that

  • Audigy 2 card with Audigy 2 ZS drivers and Live Driv

I recently bought a Li've!Dri'veII bay for my system. To use this I plugged it into my Audigy 2 Value card which I have had for about 2 years. The bay came bundled with a SoundBlaster Li've! Platinum.
I tried to install my drivers, but as a Platinum, but the Bay still did not respond, didnt send anything out or receive a signal in. There is definitely power because when I plug in the headphones you can hear some white noise, but thats it.
I searched round for a solution and one was to install the Audigy 2 ZS drivers. I did this by following the following instructions:
    http://driverheaven.net/showthread.php?s&threadid=45004
This allowed me to also enable lots of extras such as the THX console and other stuff previously unused as my Audigy 2 drivers didnt have them.
    Now I have 2 problems:
    ) my Li've!Dri'veII Bay isn't working and
    2) In games I get sound glitches such as random noises that shouldnt be there, Missing noises such as gunshots are not heard or parts of the noise are missing.
So what do I need to do to sort this out, because I do wish to be able to use my system to its full potential.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

    David,
If you go into the surround mixer or Windows mixer do you see a listing for the front panel inputs (line in2/mic in2, Aux 2, etc)? If so, are any of them muted? If you go to start/programs/Creative/SB Audigy/Audio HQ/Device Settings, do you show a headphone tab? If so what options are enabled in there?
Double check your ribbon cable connection and maybe even swap sides of the cable.

  • Creative 64bit drivers for Live/Audigy X

    Get them here: http://198.95.32.78/default.aspx
Now all I need is to have ATi to get their drivers out the door.. C'mon I find this lame that they don't release any beta or nothing for the enthusiast community.
Because of ATi I can't make XP 64 my main OS.
    Simon

Yup I was expecting them around when Q4 launched still no 64 bit driver what a suprise.
theirs no info on them as of yet creative wont release anything apart from they should be out this quarter meening that the release is most likely a lengthy wait I expect late or early december from these guys no rush to get them out and of course why would their be without any competition in the market place, so If the drivers are not out in a phew weeks to my likeing they certainly loose my business and I'll also return my speakers whilst im at it to.

  • WHY ! WHY! WHY! Can I not find drivers for Live 24 b

What is it with this company.
Surely its not too much to ask for them to support their products !
It's just not good enough !!! All I want are a set of drivers for a Sound Blaster Li've 24 bit.
Any on the support site NO...
This makes me so bloody ANGRY ! Why is this company shutting out it's customers like this?
Anyone have any ideas as to where I might find a suitable driver for this card? ..... Rant over .....

<SPAN>This seems like a very stupid policy. It seems logical to make a product as usable as possible, and making it impossible to use a product just because you don't have a CD seems like a great way to frustrate customers. I have searched the net for drivers, and all I have found are the wails of many users suffering at the hands of this bureaucratic view of the world.
<SPAN>And to say that web hosting is expensi've, well tough, as everyone suffers with that, and if Creative has been too stupid or lazy to arrange fixed priced internet connectivity that just shows what a waste of market space they are.
<SPAN>I have a card that is now a coaster until such time as Creative deems it time to release a patch, assuming they ever get around to it. So, what does this leave me feeling? Like I never want to buy Creative ever again, just in case I get treated like this in the future. Thanks Creative for making it that much easier to choose someone else?s product. And as for Creative?s competitors, I hope you guys are paying attention: Creative is asleep at the wheel and the market is yours for the taking. Make a good product, support it well and the community will love you.
<SPAN>Oh, and if you have ever tried to contact Creative about support you would know that asking for a CD would be an exercise in futility. If you are lucky you might get the driver CD either two months after one is released on the website (my bet, 2007 some time), just in time for the complete phase out of PCI, totally obsoleting the card anyway.

  • Live! Cam Voice BETA Drivers and Widows Vista

I have just installed the BETA drivers for Live! Cam Voice and everything seems to have worked except that there appears to be a conflict with Microsoft Genuine Advantage and I am told that "There is a problem with your licence so notifications will no longer appear". The Error is 0xC004D40 described as "The security processor reported a system file mismatch error. I am asked to validate the product online. Validation takes me to Micorosft Genuine Advantage (a misnomer if ever there was one) where I am told that the "copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation. Either an unauthorised change was made to Windows files or a software preogram installed on this computer is not currently compatible with Windows Vista". That would not matter too much if as a by-product. I had not been prevented from updating my installation of Windows Vista, but I was and the only way round that was to start my computer with no programs running and update in such almost clean state. Thus I counsel everyone seeking to use the BETA drivers for Live! Cam Voice to be aware of the problems that they might encounter.

  • Live Update - How to Updade the drivers?

    I have a K7N2 Delta motherboard.
I run the MSI Live Update and I got an answer that there are several new updates:
    1) LiveBIOS, 1 update
    2) Live Driver, 2 Updates
    3) Live VGA Driver, 6 Updates
    4) Live Utility, 8 Updates
Probably some drivers were not installed at all during the first set up that's the reason several of those appear as "Current Ver. Unknown" which means that the Live Update did not find the respective driver at all.
I know that flashing the new BIOS is not so easy, I must first download it, copy it to a floppy disk and boot from the floppy drive. Is there an on line guide on this process?
How can I update the other drivers, the Live Driver, Live VGA Driver, Live Utility?
Is it simple? How it works?
Should I just download the respective driver to a folder on my Hard Disk and then just run it from there?
    Or it is more complicated?
    Many Thanks

first off, if you don't need to update anything, then you can safely leave it as it is. don't forget the golden rule of computing: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
personally, i wouldn't bother using LiveUpdate, as it is easy enough to download and update drivers manually
without knowing more about the other hardware in your system (and the OS you're running) i can't advise exactly which drivers you can update, but generally
K7N2 is nforce2 board, you get your mobo chipset and system drivers (Nforce drivers) from nVidia Drivers
if you have a Nvidia Geforce VGA card, then you download the ForceWare display drivers from there also
if you have an ATI Radeon VGA card, download the Catalyst display drivers from ATi Drivers
if your system is running without major problems, i would definitely leave the BIOS as it is

  • Cannot finish update with live update

Every time I try to update my drivers with live update 2 (latest version), It starts downloading and then just stops and NEVER finishes the download.
    Anyone got any suggestions?
    MSI NFORCE
    512 MEGS RAM
    AMD 1700+
    40 GIG WD HD
    CABLE MODEM (ATTBI.COM)

    JErnst,
I didn't use the MSI WHQL'd 2920 driver, but i suspect it's the same as the one I did use, as it doesn't come with a Setup.exe
However, all you've got to do is to go into the Control Panel...System...Hardware....Device Manager.  Select your Display Adapter (graphics card), rt-clk and select properties
On the Driver tab, select update driver, and select the location where you unzipped the drivers.  It should require a reboot.
