DRM 11.1.2.2.308 to 11.1.2.2.311

Hi,
Currently we are in DRM 11.1.2.2.308 and planning to upgrade to 11.1.2.2.311 to make compatible with Internet explorer 10.
To upgrade this we need to follow below steps
1) Stop the DRM service
2) Uninstall existing version from Control Panel (Add and Remove Programs)
3) Install newer version DRM
4) Go to Configuration console and perform Applications --> Apply Updates.
My question is
When we uninstall older version , all the parameters updated in the configuration console will be lost ? Do we need to update this configuration parameters like repository information , Process Manager etc.., and select Apply updates after install newer version of DRM?
Please advise.

The configuration settings should not be lost the drm-config.xml will still remain, if you are worried then back it up before you uninstall.
Cheers
John

  • I can no longer read DRM protected books

I have had ADE and Sony Reader for PC for some years without any major problems. Recently I have been having some issues downloading a particular book - the acsm would not download the file. In trying to fix this I seem to have created a far worse problem. One of the fixes suggested was to ensure my computer was properly authorised - but I was unsure of my password on my Adobe account linked to my old email so not knowing what else to do I created a new account. Adobe have now rather unhelpfully removed the DRM from all my legitmately pruchased books. I have been wrestling with the earlier problems for over a week now and this latest hastle is the last straw.  My computer is Windows Vista and my ereader is Sony PR1, I thought this would need to be resolved by Adobe linking or merging my accounts but if anyone can help  I would be very grateful.

This is the Reader forum. The Digital Editions one is here:

  • How can I move my DRM-protected movies from one disk to another on the same computer without running afoul of the big movie houses?

I need to off-load my digital copies to another disk I just bought, located on the same computer, so I can have more room for other things; my collection is getting too big, I guess.  I'm afraid if I just move them and re-integrate them back into the iTunes library, it will mess up the DRM status and lock me out entirely.  I'm hoping it won't treat this exercise as one of my allocated copies and increment the counter counting device transfers.  Any ideas as to how to safely do this (without hacking, etc.)?
    Thanks.

is this second library in a different account on the computer?

  • Ipod affected by podcast (air america DRM?)/firewaire error message

I've had problems with one of two nano's in the house. The "firewire is not supported..." message without anything connected was the problem. The ipod was into Apple three times, each time they found nothing, and when I synced it back up to the original configuaration the problem started right up. The last time I synced it up to my laptop configuration and limited some of the podcasts I loaded on, so far so good. I am suspicious of the Air America Premimum Podcast - in iTunes it keeps coming up with a password requirement, they recentely upgraded their DRM, and it was a podcast I didn't set up this time. I wonder if that can cause problems. Anyone know?

    Long dead issue

  • [Solved]After upgrade: Random system stalls, invisible text. drm/i915?

    Hi,
Short version: I think I have a problem with drm and my graphic card drivers after an update, but I'm not quite sure what to do about it.
Longer version: ever since an update 2 days ago, I have a range of system problems.
Most notably, the system stalls or hangs for between 2 and 10 seconds every few minutes. This may happen during any kind of activity - viewing pdfs (zathura or acroread), working in the terminal (lilyterm), web browsing (firefox) or reading/writing email (thunderbird). It also very often stalls during change of awesome's tags, but not every time (only every third or so).
Then, similar to this recently necromanced thread ( https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=135259 ), I have random letters disappearing in thunderbird, but also random paragraphs disappearing in firefox, see screenshot here: http://imgur.com/RhOhL3a
With the help of dmesg I discovered errors like
[15170.335247] [drm] stuck on render ring
[15170.335310] [drm:i915_set_reset_status] *ERROR* render ring hung inside bo (0xebf0000 ctx 0) at 0xec0a050
popping up a lot, and google-found a few related threads or bug reports ( https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/34611 ,  https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=160186 ,  https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1251547 ). But then my troubles start, because I don't know just exactly what to do with this information. Some seem to speak of downgrading, but downgrade what exactly? Some say this is fixed/solved, but in what sense (reported upstream, fixed upstream, fixed in arch) and then what does is mean that I still get such errors? Should I re-report them, or what should I do to fix? Some system info below.
    Thanks for any pointers!

  • Getting time out error when running the assigned verification in DRM 9.3.2.

    Hi,
I have installed DRM 9.3.2.0.0 in my system (windows 7), when i am trying to run assigned verifications i am getting the time out error within a minute.
As suggested by oracle,I have added DWORD with value 480000 under Master Data Management in Registry editor. But still getting the error.
Please suggest a solution for this issue.

  • Getting "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." when attempting to open DRM URL

We are getting the above error in DRM
After looking at the event viewer, we see the following error:
    Source: IIS-W3SVC-WP
The worker process for application pool 'drm_pool' encountered an error 'Failed to open schema file 'C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\config\schema\ASPNET_schema.xml'
' trying to read configuration data from file 'C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\config\schema\ASPNET_schema.xml', line number '0'. The data field contains the error code.
We also noticed that there were several conhost.exe processes running taking up 100% CPU power. That has since subsided but we are still having issues accessing DRM.
We have attempted to restarted IIS hoping it would fix the issue but have failed. In IIS Admin, we noticed that the drm_pool is stopped. If we attempt to start it, we get the error above.
Any help finding the cause and fix would be appreciated.

    Suzanne
Thanks for the response. For some reason I did not get an email from the forum about the response, so I thought no one responded. I accidentally checked today.
As I mentioned in my update on 22nd September, I changed the identity to run on "LocalSystem" account eventhough I created the site and the database using my windows account. Not I am able to access the MDS home page. But the users I added (all Windows domain
users) are not able to access the site. They are getting "Access Denied". I added them to the default administrators group and MDS_Service group in the server, but still they are not able to access.
When I look at their "Membership" it shows they are part of the administrator group. But there are no "Functions" assigned to them. I am not able to assign them any function from "Available" list. Its all greyed out. Even though I am an adiministrator and
I was able to add them as users, I am not able to assign them permissions?
Do you have any solution for this?
P.S. The current MDS Application is running under the default web site.
    Thanks

  • Having a Problem with WMA DRM and Muvo TX FM - Upd

No elapsed time problem with WMA DRM or other protected files from:
    Napster
    WalMart
    Audible.com.
Elapsed time problem with WMA DRM from:
    Netlibrary.com
This is an update on the problem that I described below:
    Windows Media Player
One problem I had was that Windows Media Player would not recognize my muvo players. It turned out that because I was using a USB hub for the players to connect WMP was not recognizing the players. When I used a direct line to the USB port on the computer, WMP has no problem recognizing the player.
    Digital License.
As a test, I bought a WMA song file from WalMart to see if its Digital Rights Management was compatible with Muvo. There was no problem with the correct elapsed time showing. I will also test a file from Napster and add its license details here.
Here is something else I noticed - the differences in
the license for the two types of WMA files:
The one from WalMart - which works fine with the
    elapsed time on the MuVo:
This file can be played an unlimited number of times
Collaborati've play for this file is not allowed
This file can be burned 0 more times<<<
This file can be synchronized an unlimited number of
    times
The license for this file can be backed up <<<
    For the one from netlibrary.com
This file can be played until 4/9/2005
Collaborati've play for this file is not allowed
    This file cannot be burned
This file can be synchronized 3 more times until
    4/9/2005
The license for this file cannot be backed up<<<<
I have been able to copy WMA with DRM audiobook files to my TX FM, but the elapsed time doesn't change with either play or fast forward. The file is from Netlibrary.com which supplies audiobooks to public libraries. The file plays, but the display stays all zeroes.
I have been sending information and getting replies and suggestions from both Netlibrary support and Creative technical support with no solution. I have the latest firmware and everything else. I have the problem on both Windows XP and Windows 2000 computers. I have downloaded several files, but none of them show elapsed time. I suspect it is something to do with the DRM, because I can play a preview file from Netlibrary - without DRM - with no problem. I also have no problem with other files copied over - from Audible, from CDs, etc.Message Edited by alex20850 on 03-30-2005 07:54 PMMessage Edited by alex20850 on 03-30-2005 08:4 PM

I'm primarily using my TX FM for netlibrary.com audiobooks and also get all zeros on the display.
I've been steadily complaining to netlibrary and my local library about problems/inconveniences, itcertainly is experiencing growing pains; we're the ones getting the pain, though!
I'll post here if I find a (legal) resolution to this.
What firmware version do you have? I have .2.04 and I see that .3.03 is available for download. I've read here that there are problems with .3 with volume limiting and I'm hesitant to change. I do notice that one of the listed fixes is:
Updates the elapsed time displayed during navigation within a long recorded track
so, maybe this is the answer?

  • I can't get itunes to acknowledge that I need to redownload a DRM-FREE version of the music I already paid for.

What it says in the subject line. I have a huge number of songs that I'm just now realizing are "Protected AAC audio files," which is a load of complete crock, but whatever. I've tried following the incredibly convoluted and asinine directions about deleting the DRM version first, then going to the itunes store and clicking on purchased songs and re-downloading each one, individually, by hand. This is an unbelievably stupid and time-wasting method, but if it worked, I'd only be moderately peeved.
However, it doesn't work. Itunes refuses to acknowledge that the DRM version is no longer on my computer; as far as they're concerned, it's downloaded, so there's no way to redownload the non-protected version. Never mind that I've now been scammed into signing up for that stupid Match program, which I fully intend to discontinue as soon as I resolve this idiocy - apparently ITunes just flat-out doesn't have the ability to tell which songs they should just automatically replace because DRM is no longer a thing.
If the solution is obvious and I'm missing it, I'd be really happy to hear it - reply to this and mock me for not getting the issue. That's totally cool! But please don't tell me that I'm going to have to literally re-purchase almost 2K songs just because Apple can't do its job.

Have you tried using the Applications DVD that came with your MBP. It will work just fine. It CAME with your computer it is yours to use on that computer.
    Give it a try.

  • Creative Zen Vision: M 30 gb - DRM information corrupt or missing.....???????

So I just started having this problem yesterday but it seem I'm the only ever to have it. I've scanned every page I can and can't find a solution. Yesterday I started playing my music then all of the sudden it stopped. Granted I was having problems before even though I just got this unit a month..........! I sent an email and still haven't received a response.
Here's the problem. While listening to my music yesterday I encountered a message saying - Playback Error. This error persisted after changing the track. After going home and reformatting, reinstalling firmware, downgrading -> upgrading firmware, reformatting over and over and over again, disk clean up, system restore, reboots, default restore, reformatting, again reformatting, deleting every piece of information I could delete...... you might be getting the picture so far.... After doing all of this I was unable to download tracks again onto my MP3 player. The only ones I can upload are unprotected content. I got thinking maybe there is a problem in my DRM file..... Where is my DRM file on the MP3 player and how do I delete it's You can't. At least not what I found. So again I tried everything over and over again and nothing works. I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. I have a 30gb Creative Zen Vision: M player, Windows XP/Vista 64, Napster ToGo and now I can't use my MP3. This unit is a month old and I cannot use it. PLEASE HELP ME. This is very long winded but I'm hoping this will help a little. Thanks in advance, I'm going insane without my music.

Well I have never used a service like that. That's all I can think of off hand.

I'm running on an ASUS UX31E, so I have i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 in my kernel line.

I'm pretty sure my original upgrade was from 3.12.
I just upgraded to 3.13.6 today, and now I'm experiencing crashing sometimes when xscreensaver starts (it was while watching a youtube video; my window manager is XMonad, which also crashed; I killed X from another tty and it automatically came back to my lightdm login). This crashing was happening pre-3.12 as well, but went away with 3.12 and also wasn't there with 3.13.{4,5}.
My guess is the xf86-video-intel package sucks and isn't keeping up with changes to the kernel.

  • How can I transfer a WMA audio file with DRM into iTunes?

Is it possible to transfer a DRM, WMA audio lecture file that I download onto my Dell Inspirion laptop into iTunes? I can purchase and download the file using Windows Media. My goal is to get the audio file onto an iPod Nano. The organization that sells these lectures does not support Macintosh at this time and is only supporting Windows based machines.
The Dell laptop uses Windows XP as its operating system.
Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   Use ITunes on Dell Inspirio w/Windows XP

If I understand you correctly, first I burn the file onto a CD using Windows Media Player, then I can import it (rip the file?) into iTunes. After this I could download the file to my Nano.
I want to make sure I know what you meant by "rip the file" into iTunes.
    Thank you for your help,
