DRM and Pocketpc

Hello together,
i´m sure that this questitions has been asked many times,
when will there a solution to view DRM protected pdf files
with pocketpc ( Adobe Reader LE 2.5 ) ????
I recently bought some drm protected ebooks for business,
i wanted to read them while i´m seating in a plane or just travelling.
And what is the result, there is no possibility, because Adobe is waiting
if the customers are going to complain. And if there will be enough customers
make a complaint, then they will looking for a solution.
Hey sorry, i´m working as a Qualitymanager, and everytime there was something
that comes up with customersatisfaction...well, that behaviour of Adobe has nothing to
do with customersatisfaction.
So the questition, please everybody who is also interested in a solution, come up to that
threat and ad a comment.
Maybe that will help, still it is the wrong way for a company, but......

same problem for me. I am using abe edition 3 as I don't think 4 can be used with kobo. Book has been downloaded to kobo but it can't be read as it is not authorised.Help please

DRM and Shared Members in Essbase & Planning

Hi,
Many years ago we implemented Razza and one of the difficulties we had was in handling shared members in Essbase and Planning applications. The workaround as I recall was to use a prefix in alternate hierarchies, and strip it out before exporting. But this did not allow for a single place to maintain a node. Is there a best practice for handling shared members in DRM?

DRM now supports shared members in the application. This application functionality used configurable suffixes. You can read about this in the DRM User Guide.
This makes Essbase integration virtually seemless since Essbase will treat the first occurance of a member encountered during the dimension load process as the base member and any subsequent occurances of that member as shared members. Planning, however, requires shared members to be marked as such and thus depending on how the hierarchies are maintained in DRM and then exported, it is possible for the shared member to appear before the base member, which will cause Planning to raise an error. This can be accommodated with two pass loads and other techniques.
Also note that this information could be dated as I haven't personally been on a project that fed hyperion Planning for a couple of years. Regards.

I'm curious that if Flash Media Rights Management Server
support OMA DRM and\or WMDRM. Does Flash Media Enconding Server
also encrypts videos to support oma drm or wmdrm?
Or by meaning DRM, Adobe means he has his own way to protect
the content holder rights by using different protocols and other
things and it does not secure the video file but it secure how the
video file is transmitted and seen (by preventing video or audio
being sniffed and/or ripped).

Adobe reader, DRM, and Firefox-

Hi,
I have a book for sale through a site developed by myself and a website designer. The pdf for the book is optimized for Adobe. I have digital rights management (DRM) in place. Recently, I have come to understand that Firefox and Chrome have readers on them that allow all DRM to be defeated or circumvented. Is this so? And is there a way - maybe a plug-in or an add-on - to keep the Adobe DRM in force or effect even when the Firefox or Chrome reader is being used?

That assumes you have DRM, and not a "half baked security solution" as some things have been called.
For instance, some people propose security based on JavaScript. Since some viewers ignore JavaScript, they aren't even bypassing DRM, but the effect is the same.
Similarly, as Acrobat warns you, not all products honour Acrobat security settings. Some developers consider copy protection evil.
But true DRM will require specific software and won't be readable at all by other viewers.

This is an update on the problem that I described below:
Windows Media Player
One problem I had was that Windows Media Player would not recognize my muvo players. It turned out that because I was using a USB hub for the players to connect WMP was not recognizing the players. When I used a direct line to the USB port on the computer, WMP has no problem recognizing the player.
Digital License.
As a test, I bought a WMA song file from WalMart to see if its Digital Rights Management was compatible with Muvo. There was no problem with the correct elapsed time showing. I will also test a file from Napster and add its license details here.
Here is something else I noticed - the differences in
the license for the two types of WMA files:
The one from WalMart - which works fine with the

I have been able to copy WMA with DRM audiobook files to my TX FM, but the elapsed time doesn't change with either play or fast forward. The file is from Netlibrary.com which supplies audiobooks to public libraries. The file plays, but the display stays all zeroes.
I have been sending information and getting replies and suggestions from both Netlibrary support and Creative technical support with no solution. I have the latest firmware and everything else. I have the problem on both Windows XP and Windows 2000 computers. I have downloaded several files, but none of them show elapsed time. I suspect it is something to do with the DRM, because I can play a preview file from Netlibrary - without DRM - with no problem. I'm primarily using my TX FM for netlibrary.com audiobooks and also get all zeros on the display.
I've been steadily complaining to netlibrary and my local library about problems/inconveniences, itcertainly is experiencing growing pains; we're the ones getting the pain, though!
I'll post here if I find a (legal) resolution to this.
What firmware version do you have? I have .2.04 and I see that .3.03 is available for download. I've read here that there are problems with .3 with volume limiting and I'm hesitant to change. I do notice that one of the listed fixes is:
Updates the elapsed time displayed during navigation within a long recorded track
so, maybe this is the answer?

ITunes in a mess - need to merge libraries, remove DRM and remove duplicates

I don't know how I've got to this state, but I've now got at least three different, but similar, iTunes libraries. Two are on one machine, and one is on another. I know that there are lots of duplicates, but there are some unique songs and films on all of them.
What I want to do is to merge everything into one central place and then share it. At the same time, I'd like to convert all the ACC DRM tracks to mp3 so that I can burn them to a CD to listen to in the car (I've no idea why the ACC format doesn't allow this, but it's very annoying!).
I've seen various tools about, but none of them seem to do this.
Is it possible, somehow, to unload everything onto another disc, then import it all in without duplicates? I surely can't be the first person in the world to want to do this!!!

I have a similar setup (media folder location points to external drive), and have also had the computer add music to the internal drive instead. I believe this happens when you add music but the external drive isn't plugged in.
In any case, I just used the "Consolidate files" function and it worked like a dream to copy all those files (and their info) to the external drive. Then you can simply delete the originals on :C.
On my system, it's at: File -> Library -> Organize Library -> Consolidate Files. It may be different for you if you have a different version of iTunes.

How to disable [drm] and ntpd messages on console ?

As you can see in the picture above, i want these messages not to apear on my console.
I even can not write my user name to login because of them. ANNOYİGGGGGGG.
I have to pres ENTER and sometimes lots of buttons to find a "Tombik(my hostname) login : ___" inscription.
Also, the message below appears after the udev in the initscrips at the begining of the system.

( I added this code as mentioned "Synchronize once per boot" section on here , for synchronizing my system date.)
How can i prevent "[drm] nouveau.....forcing panel scaling" and "ntpd" messages not to be shown in the beginning system messages and my main console ?
( i use "drm_kms_helper.poll=0" and "quiet" in my /boot/grub/menu.lst . But they only solve screen flashing and "[drm] nouveau.....forcing panel scaling" message in every 10 second .)

Root and the normal user login are the same. After the login there are "Can't open display" messages.

Internal ITS, IAC and PocketPC Browser

Dear all,
we have some self written IACs running on a PocketPC. After migration to WebAS 7.0 with internal ITS the IACs quit with "Browser version not supported". There is no problem running these IACs in the Browser, they are all classic IACs with just HTML code. No JS and so on. Anybody an idea how to tell WebAs not to throw the exception?

NEW QUICKTIME DRM AND RENDERING....

first, sorry for my english. The new qt make impossible to render movies with third party softwares. for example, just like other posts says, After effects render stops after 10 min with the message
After Effects error: opening movie — you do not have permission to open this file (-54). (44 :: 53)

but the reason is simple for me. but terrible: The newnew quick time 7.4 for itunes film rent, every 10 min, try to check the drm in an open quicktime. After effects writes the .mov specification at the end of rendering, just before closing the file. The qt engine, when check for drm, think you have cracked the qt information to remove the drm. Change the permission of the file and this cause the rendering failure. The only actual solution is render a tga sequence and then build a quicktime.
Sorry for badnews, but apple must do something and fast. I love consumer apple products, but if i stop to work with pro products, i can't continue to be a consumer at all

It appears that M$ has not authorized the use of their DRM in the Flip4Mac plugins. At this point at least no one has reported a way to get around that. I'm sure the news will get around fast if/when a way is released.

DRM and account issue

Another DRM issue. Unfortunately I have totally lost access to the account I purchased some DRM music under. I don't have access to the email address and I don't know the answer to the account questions (birth date, etc). It was a while ago but at the time if I remember correctly I decided to put garbage information into that account as I knew I was about to loose that email address (left that place of work). In hindsight pretty stupid and clearly I didn't have a good grasp of how DRM works.
Now I'm possibly prepared (but not happy about) to pay the 30¢ (or whatever it is) to remove the DRM from these songs, but to do that you need access to that account. Is there anyway I can get access to these songs, or have I lost access to them totally?

To see what account you purchased the song from, right-click it in the iTunes library, Get Info, and look at the Summary tab for the "Account Name" field. Go to Store > View My Account and try to log in to that account, using the Forgot password button if necessary. If you can't log in, use the iTunes Customer Service Web page.
Once in your account consider using the 30 cents per track upgrade option. Otherwise you will be still be dealing with DRM 10 or 20 years from now. If you don't have the 30 cents, then use iTunes to burn those tracks to an audio CD. It is very handy to have your tracks on an audio CD.

DRM and HFM integration when Org by period is ON

Our HFM application has Organization by period turned ON. Thus, when there are entity hierarchy changes, we actually dont move entities but just change their active parents. We are using DRM for master data management where hierarchies are defined. however, when structure changes are to be made in DRM, we have to actually move the nodes from one parent to another. Now loading this revised structure in HFM would change the consolidation structure for all periods and not just subsequent periods. How do we handle this?

Maybe load the entity changes in merge mode, which will leave them in both the original location and the new location. Replace mode on the other hand will remove the child from the original parent.

We are into providing Digital Publishing Services and as well bringing out our eBook reader devices (with adobe drm).
We are evaluating whether ACS 4 be adopted or not for our packaging and delivery system.
Ofcourse ACS is leading among its competitors. But there are some points on which I need your suggestions or opinions.
As per the quotes Adobe charge $0.22 per non-expirable license as well for expiring license of more than 60 days.
For Publishers this is not a bad option. They can easily make their file, package and even deliver it to the book stores they allow. They can easily afford.
But here come my question: There are many individual/very small groups who want to sell their book/notes for free. Adobe ACS is excellent delivey system. Not only this, delivering through ACS will help them as it provides users the ability to sync between their authorized devices as all the download are managed by adobe id.
How can we tackle this. Does the ACS also offer "No DRM" option just delivery. If it can it will be definetly be great as then both the worlds can co- exist and those who prefer monetizing can go for transaction fee for security and those who just want to reach out public can have the best delivery system and centralized user experience provided by ADOBE.

I am unable to unlock my textbooks on my tablet and have been told Adobe Reader no longer supports DRM. Is there another option?

Just log into FON using a web browser, no app is needed.
Scan for the FON wireless network, and connect to it, then launch your browser and you will get the log on page.

Questions regarding DRM and MP3 quality

Im using Music+ on the Lumia 800 and Im considering buying y first album on Nokia Music however there are a few things I need to know (hopefully somebody willl be able to help me).
Is the music DRM free? Will i be able to transfer my music from phone to desktop/vice versa whenever i feel like it? Download again in the future etc? I have seen answers to this on Nokias site, but it also mentions non existing sotware and services.
Is high quaity MP3 actually high quality?
I would love a lossless or uncompressed music service but I've been unable to find one (anyone know of one?), but It seems that if i want to be able to buy music on my device and download instantly I also have to cope with terrible audio-quality. I bought a number of albums on iTunes before i noticed that the terrible MP3-compression actually made the music sound distorted when played on great speakers (I guess the mix will have to take some of the blame, but still). Sorry for going on but i geuss what I would really like to know is:
What am i actually paying for here?

I've only recently started using the Nokia Music service and am also trying to find out more information about it. With regards to DRM, I don't know if there are levels that can be applied, but so far I've had no problems transferring music purchased through NM on to my PC. I do this using the standard Windows file manager. I haven't tried it on other devices though.
As for quality, I'm still trying to clarify that myself. From what I can gather though, if you purchase a song as a stand alone, then you get the file at a lower bit rate (64kbps AAC or 128kbps MP3), however, if you sign up for NM+ where you pay a monthly fee, then the songs you download come in at a higher quality 192kbps.
