DRM Ringtones no longer work

I purchased 4 ".dcf" ringtones from VW and they have been working until a couple of days ago. They are on my phone (not SD card) but suddenly no longer work and are no longer seen on the settings>sound>phone ringtone list. When I go to one of these files and tap it,I get a message "unable to open this type of file.". Anyone have any idea on how to fix this issue?

I had the same problem on an iPhone 4, but none of my ringtones would work - the phone would only vibrate when ringing. I did a hard reset by doing the following and that fixed the problem for me:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I have been able to create my own in the past but this no longer works!
I remember doing it in the distant past with an app that allowed access to your iPhone 3.. you just copied the m4r files there and the next time you looked they were there! I know this is a bit extreme and I really don't want to do that on my shiny new phone!

Duplicate your copy of iTunes 10.x before upgrading to iTunes 11 (or restore it from a backup) and use iTunes 10.x to listen to (and in particular access the links in) podcasts. Further, file a bug with Apple that these links don't work when the album art is displayed in the album art mini-player.

Custom Ringtones no longer working?

I recently installed 2.02 and just replaced my 8GB iPhone with a 16GB phone. Strangely, my old custom ringtones are on my new phone, but I am not able to add new ones. I am running ITunes 7.7 and am creating a custom MP3, I add it to Itunes then convert to AAC. I go to the folder that the m4a file is located, rename to m4r and sync. Did Apple stop custom ringtones in 2.02?

regarding the ringtones, i was able to set custom ringtones myself, but ever since i did that i get errors when synching my phone in the form that some app's dont work, have any of you had this problem?

IPhone 4s Ringtone No Longer Works

My message alert tone will only work if the message application is open on the screen. This applies to vibrate as well. The ringtones still go off when receiving phone calls, but never for text messages. Help!

Downloaded Ringtones No Longer Work

All of my downloaded ringtones (from Verizon), suddenly stopped working last week. I utilize Tone Picker to play them, and while it can find the music files on the phone, it will not allow me to select them for ringtones. If I go into the VCast Music app, and select my Music, then "downloaded" from the albums list, it shows the list of downloaded ringtones that I purchased, but when I attempt to play them, it throws an error that says "Unable to play this type of audio file". It shows all the ringtones I downloaded from Verizon as .dm files. Why dont they play anymore? They have worked fine for the last 5 months, and now all of a sudden, they dont work. I uninstalled and resinstalled Tone Picker, to no avail. HELP!!! I forked out a decent amount of money for these ringtones from Verizon, so the fact that they dont work is pretty irritating..... Anyone have any fixes or suggestions???

did you also reset your phone already? To do reset, hold the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again, ignore the "slide to turn off" message.
If this does not work, a restore would be the next step.

Personal Ringtones No Longer Work

My personal ringtones do not play since updating to 7, I have check at each contact but when I recieve a call the ringtone is a default one. how do I correct this

Couple of things to check:
You are using Outlook 2003, 2007 or 2010
You have selected to sync Calendars and Contacts with Outlook on the Info tab of your iTunes sync settings
You have selected your Outlook calendar as the default claendar on your iPhone (in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar)
If all that is correct and iTunes still won't sync correctly, you might have to try reinstalling Outlook. Another option is to enable iCloud syncing with Outlook (see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/). This requires Outlook 2007 or 2010. If you decide to sync using iCloud but sure to disable contacts and calendar syncing in iTunes on the Info tab of your sync settings. Do not try to sync with both Outlook and iCloud or you will end up with duplicates in your contacts and calendar.
For syncing Ringtones confirm that:
The file is really a ringtone (right-click the file in iTunes, select Get Info, on the Summary tab it should say "Kind: Ringtone".
You have checked each of the ringtones you want to sync
You have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos" on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings
You have checked Sync Tones on the Tones tab of your iTunes sync settings

The ringtone I made and have used for years on iPhone 5 no longer works in 8.3

I've been using a ringtone I made years ago on my iPhone 5 and with the latest update in iOS the ringtone no longer plays when a message comes in. I checked it in the options and it plays there but when a message comes in, silence. If this is something Apple no longer supports I would ask why? Are they trying to take all the fun out of our lives. People used to love hearing my ringtone when a message arrived.

Yes it is. It's 3 seconds and in the .m4r format. I used it since I first bought my phone.
One thing I've noticed, not that this has anything to do with it but... I named my phone xxx since I've had it, now when I hook it up to iTunes it shows up as xxx (2). Any idea what this is about?

Text messages ringtones are not working in the Storm Two

Device: Storm Two running OS version 5.0.0.713 on the Verizon Wireless network.
Recently, I upgraded from a Storm One to a Storm Two because of a multitude of issues with the Storm One; not enough memory, constant lock-ups; dropped calls, etc. On the Storm One I had customer ringtones for contacts; so when a contact calls me the phone will sound a specific ringtone for that contact; the same for text messages from that contact. Now that I have the Storm Two the text message tones for the contacts are not working. In fact, even when I select a ringtone for text messages for a contact the phone will ring the generic ringtone that comes with the phone. If I go into the sound profile and change the generic ringtone to one of my own and the contact sends me a text/sms message the phone will ring the ringtone that I selected in the profile that is being used at the time. This is not the way it worked on the Storm One. On the Storm One; if I have a specific ringtone for the contact and that contact sends me a text message it will sound the text messages tone for that contact. These ringtones have worked for previous devices including my Treo and Palm devices. The ringtone files worked well in the previous Storm One.
So to make a long story short; I want to know why my text message ringtones are not working as designed/setup-up. If a contact calls me the phone will sound the ringtone for that contact; but if that same contact text me it will not ring the ringtone for the contact. This is annoying and I am at my wits end trying to find out why this is not working.

Field separator is for separating the fields.That means it will effect every field in the node.
But end separator is not like that.It will apply at the end ofall fields of a node.It will effect node not a field.
according to ur scenario if u use data.endseparator 'nl',output will come like this

Apple doesn't have anything to do with this other than enforcing the DRM protection. The developers of this content expect to be paid if someone wants to use their content. When you purchase content in the app store, you purchase a license to use the content. This license does not permit you or anyone else to resell or give this content away. The individual you purchased the phone from simply does not have the right to sell or give away any purchased content on the phone. You were deceived.

You will be using your original AppleID and password. that works for any computer you own now or in the future. Do not make a new appleID.

AAC files no longer work

I have 865 AAC files which no longer work.
These are in iTunes but no longer play. Can't really say when they quit but noticed it tonight and went thru them all.
If I view them in the Finder, they don't play with Quicklook or by preview in the Finder window.
No other application will play them (VLC, QuickTime).
In the Finder, it shows them as an MPEG-4 Audio File. The extension is .m4a, which is an AAC.
Icon is correct.
In iTunes, when I get info, everything is on the left side of the Summary tab but right side is blank. It should have the Profile, channels and Encoded with: (iTunes and QT version).
Looking at file properties in VLC, everthing except the name is blank (arist, genre, etc.).
Bit rates are different (128, 160, 192, 256 VBR).
Dates added and modified are from 2005 to a few weeks ago.
Single songs to whole albums.
Some iTunes DRM, some iTunes plus and some imported from CDs.
I'm running 10.5.7 on the internal drive and my iTunes folder is on another drive on a 10.4.11 partiton.
I have copies of these files on another drive and comparing them in the Finder, they have the same creation and mod dates. They are the same number of bytes.
The only difference is one works and one doesn't.
Ran Disk First Aid and Permissions repair on both drives.

Not in figuring out what happened.
I copied the files from a backup drive to the original drive replacing the files and everything works fine.
Okay now, here's something really whack.
I had dumped all the files into the trash but have not empied it yet.
I installed 10.5.8 yesterday and it works great.
However, now looking at the song files in the trash, they all play correctly with Quick Look (spacebar).

DRM protected program stopped working

I produce a travel guide made with Flash and protected the Flash app with the Software Passport Mac protection system that assigns a key when a person registers the software. The key is hardware based. It worked fine in Mountain Lion but does not work in Maverick.
The unprotected Adobe Flash app works OK. It is the DRM part that won't work.
Does anyone know why the key protection system no longer works in Maverick? Or if there is a way for the user to give the software permission to register itself with the computer - like Run as Administrator in Windows?

Email notifications no longer work in iOS 7

Since I downloaded the ios 7 to my iphone 4, my email notifications no longer work. I have to actually go to my mail and refresh the page in order to get my email. My emails never come through right away anymore. I have gone to settings and made sure the alerts are turned on, and they are, but I still get no alert as to when an email comes in at that moment.
Can anyone tell me what is going on? What can I do to solve this problem? I am tired to having always refresh the mail in order to get my emails.

I am having a similar issue. I have an iPhone 5, and after updating to iOS 8 it uses the ringtone I have set as my default.. but will not keep the ringtones I have set for one person. I go back in and change it, and five minutes later it's back to the default ringtone. And it keeps doing this.

PCS no longer working with contacts and 6086

I have applied the latest release of PC Suite 6.84.10.3.
Previously the installed level was 6.83.14.1
The send/read/write message still doesn't work but hangs the Windows Explorer for a while (this hang didn't occur previously)
But now, the contact facility no longer works. It is no longer possible to edit a contact, to store it locally or to send it to the phone even a message says everything is OK
(translate it from french: The contact has been well recorded into the phone)
Folder browsing still works correctly, either the phone folder or the memory card folder
Need a fix or a way to install the previous version, at least for the contacts...

I guess what I learned is that sometimes the best solution is to do nothing and wait for the problem to solve itself! Funny, this has never worked for me before.
WOT is now working for me but often for only the first few rows of images. That's cool that it is also working with bing images.
Boudica, thanks for understanding. I am new contributor/ question-asker here on mozilla and may not understand how things are done. I was just frustrated, getting an email saying that my question was answered, logging in to find that it wasn't.
Now we have the functionality that we wanted, right?
