Drobo and Lightroom 2 link issues

I am using my Drobo through DroboShare. I import the folders into lightroom and after about 24 hours Lightroom shows that the link is broken.
When I look for the folder the path indicates something like drobo 24 or drobo 25. It seems that whenever the Drobo does its thing it is breaking the link. Does anyone else have this issue? Any ideas how to fix it?

Import your files onto your internal HDD. You set the path in the dialog on Import.

Slow program response, crashes when creating titles and dynamic link issues

Dear reader,
I am now trialling Adobe CC OSX with Premiere Pro and After Effects before deciding to subscribe but I am experiencing a lot of issues while working.
I am now working on an animation, but editing raw mxf files also gives crashes and slow responses/ program refreshes.
1) Slow mouse response
2) Slow program refresh while key framing visuals
3) Rendering in PP is extremely slow when AE is open in the background, when closing AE and re-initiate the render in PP it renders super fast
4) Crashes. When I overlay titles in my time line PP regularly crashes
5) Dynamic Link issues when working combined in AE and PP where file connections in the time line get lost when the AE project has too many sequences
I am curious to find out if other people are also experiencing these issues.
I am indecisive in getting the paid yearly plan or move to FCPX instead? Or should I get a new MacPro and is this model too old?
It worked fine 2 months ago, however I was still working on FCP7. After updating it is really bad working with it...

this does work for basic colour correction but not when trying to grade an entire suqence to achieve a specific style, applying a vingette or certain effects have to be done in after effects.
I want to try and get my whole sequence into after effects but preserve the edits and effects added in permier pro, is there any way to do this?

Pagination and visited links issue

I am creating reports on two tables which are structurally same but hold different set of data. I created one report page using SQL Query using PL/SQL function body returning SQL Query. The trick is to set a request value based on the link clicked by the user to run the query on the correct table. I am using following pagination scheme.
"Search Engine 1,2,3,4(set based pagination)â
The issue is with the âvisited linkâ behavior of the links to the record sets in the pagination navigation bar (shown on the bottom right corner of the report region for each result set). Say the user has visits link 3 in pagination navigation bar on the report number one on table A. The browser correctly shows this link in visited link color. Now, if user opens report number 2 on table B, they see the link 3 again in visited color even if they are there for the very first time. This is sounds like a cosmetic nuisance, but this is sort of confusing for the users.
I guess, since I am using the same page definition for both reports, the pagination object and associated links for the result sets in the pagination have same values. From browser perspective it is the same link and hence the links are shown visited.
Is there a way that I can force a new pagination object based on which table I am accessing still using only one report page defined in HTMLDB. I do not want to create separate page for each report on each table.

I guess it was too wordy or it was not clear enough.
In short, is it possible to clear out the visited link status (color changed) of the links to pagination resultset of a report within same session. The pagination type is "Search Engine 1,2,3,4(set based pagination)." I am using patched version 1.5.

Upgrades for CS6 and Lightroom 4 issues...

I bought both upgrades for CS6 and Lightroom 4. I downloaded the upgrades on my MAC desktop computer. Everything was fine. When I searched for them in applicatins, it showed both CS5 and CS6 and the same for Lightroom 3 and Lightroom 4. Should I delete CS5 and Lightroom 3? Thanks in advance.

Feel free to remove the older versions if you are reasonably sure you have migrated all your files and have no technical issues. Just make sure to run the proper uninstallers, not just trash the apps. Also be warned that you may need to reinstall LR4 and CS6 to fix broken file associations and shared components like Bridge...

Preview Pane and broken link issues in CS2 for Mac. Please help!

I posted this a few days ago - but would love to have some insight on how we can resolve this issue
When I am working on html documents, both old and new, I have lost all of the 'preview pane' buttons.
I can still see and have access to the layout and source panes, but the two preview (pdf and regular) are missing.
In the body of the editor all of the images that were there now show just a broken link image (but when you save and go to view the file in a browser all changes and updates are there. The source shows all of the right info and links
Also when you place a new image - the image icon doesn't show the image or even change to the proper size that the image is. You have to do that manually and then still only shows a broken icon in the new size.
Has anyone seen this before? Did I accidentally altered a mode in GoLive....is there a way to fix it?

When you have ADE (digital editions) open with "bookshelves" page with a "Getting Started with Adobe Digital Editions" booklet in it,
enter cmd-shift-U, or menu/Help/Authorize Computer.
That will ask for your Adobe ID and password and authorize the computer.
Once that has been done you shouldn't need to do it again.
Sometimes you do need to if things go wrong, but you certainly shouldn't have to do it at all regularly.
When that has been done, plug in the Kobo; it should show up in the left pane of ADE.
Use "menu/Help/Authorize Device" and that will authorize your Kobo with the Adobe ID from the Mac.
You can then copy books by drag-dropping onto the Kobo within ADE

Music Album Art and Blackberry Link Issues

I have been using blackberry for ages and have never had an issue with the media sync, it normally has worked properly. i had the z10 when it came out and syncing my music via blackberry link had worked well also, music album art showed up on my device. However, since getting my blackberry Q10 this has all changed.
1) I use a macbook pro
2) I have the most up to date version of bb link
3) I use a 16gb memory card
In the past two weeks since i have got the Q10, i have never once been able to get my music album art unto the the device, i have formatted the memory card over 10 times, i even went as far as doing a security wipe of the device itself. i have also gone into the file manager settings and and cleared the music folders, no joy!!
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS!!! I used to love my music on blackberry especially with my album art which showed on the Z10 so why isn't it showing on the q10. i don't have the z10 anymore to check.
Futhermore now when i try to sync music on the bb link some song are not even being transferred unto the device as if it just randomly selects the music it puts on the device.

Well, finally someone in the same boat as me. I use a Pc with windows 7. I previously had a Z10, switched to a Q10, with the same issues on both phones. Sometimes the artwork would show up, often adding a new song would corrupt all the artwork. I've even retagged all my mp3's, by wiping the metadata and reinserting the tags. No luck. I've formatted my phone, memory card, everything.
Ironically, the same memory card inserted into my old Bold 9900 and 9700 work fine, displaying all the artwork correctly.
I have spent hours, maybe even DAYS trying to fix this horrible problem. Someone help us!!!
I should add that now all of my albums are in individual folders, completely correctly named, with the latest ID3 tags. Even bypassing BlackBerry Link, and just using USB mass storage mode doesn't change things.

Time Machine and Lightroom folder issues

For some reason whenever I have opened the Lightroom app, edited some photos and then close the app, Time Machine will do a FULL backup of this folder, which is over 30GB. This is not what I want, apparently, and I don't understand why it is doing this. Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing?

It's not just a file that's been back upped, it's the entire Lightroom folder with all the images folders within it. Even when only one file inside that folder was changed, the entire Lightroom gets back upped. Time Machine handles all other folders perfectly fine, even the iPhoto library. This behaviour is new to me as it never happened before, but started happening after I did a clean install of Mavericks.
I've reset permissions, trashed the Time Machine preference file, started in safe mode, but nothing helps. I currently have the folder added to me exclusion list, but that's not what I want, because I used TM to back up my files.

IPad and iTunes link issue

Everytime I connect to iPad, itunes gives me a warning message. This iPad cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started. I looked at troubleshooting in Apple site and resetting it, but no success yet!

Spark skins, modules and custom themes: linking issues?

I've read some other threads on this topic that were related to the pre-release versions, but I can't get a complete answer get. I also opened an issue in the bug tracker (https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-30748), but I'm also posting here, hoping to get some help.
Basically, I have a bunch of skin classes for the standard Spark controls (e.g. s:Button), as well as other skin classes for my custom SkinnableComponent objects. I need to reuse those skins in many projects, so I created a theme: I put in a Flex Library Project all my skin classes, all related graphical assets, and a defaults.css stylesheet that associates each component with its correct skinClass.
Now, in my modular application project, what is the correct method to link this compiled theme SWC? I tried different ways, and found some issue for each one:
In <app>-config.xml, using the <theme> compiler option: this way, modules don't pick up the skinClass correctly (default components use the standard Spark skin, and for custom components I get many skinNotFound errors).. its a pity, I like this method because command-line invocations of MXMLC (build scripts) automatically apply the settings in the config.xml file, while I have to manually keep in sync any additional compiler argument.
In <app>-config.xml, using the <theme> compiler option and add -compiler.isolated-styles=false: seems to work, but not always.. moreover, the option must be put in additional compiler argument, and not in <app>-config.xml, to have effect... I understand that the config.xml file, in a modular application, is only applied to the main application (or that it must replicated with correct name for each module)?
In additional compiler arguments, using the theme+= option.. these arguments should be used also for modules compilation, and this seems the most effective solution at the moment (swf size of compiled modules has slightly increased), but skinNotFound errors still happens sometimes, usually going away after a clean build.. maybe this has something with the incremental build performed by Flash Builder and/or optimization of modules?
Right now, I've tried adding also -keep-all-type-selectors in the compiler arguments to see how it goes...
Is my scenario supported by Flex 4? How should I setup my environment? I read how to create custom themes in the official documentation (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf69084-7f85.html) and a specific help section exists about using styles with modules (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf69084-799a.html#WSda 78ed3a750d6b8f1b97f82d12508050aa0-8000), but it only cover simple style sheets, no specific information about compiled themes and the suggested linking strategy.
I'm using Flash Builder 4.5.1 and compiling with Flex SDK 4.5.0 (both application and theme), the project use some Halo components (e.g. DateField) but almost all components are Spark, and I use Spark component for <s:Application> and <s:Module>. Modules are optimized for the main application, and are loaded using the ModuleManager.

Acrobat 9 - hyper link issue and print in larger font

I am using Acrobat 9 and have two issues :
When I try to convert a web page to pdf file i.e. through the print command in FF, the text links are there in the new file but without the underlying hyper links ?
How can I print the files with a larger font. It is okay for seeing it on monitor but too small for me when I print.

Do as AbhigyanModi suggests or use the Adobe Acrobat plugin that should be in your web browser if you're using Internet Explorer. This happened because you "printed" to convet to PDF. You have to use either AbhigyanModi method or use the Internet Explorer plugin to save active hyperlinks.
In terms of the font size -- You can set up the web capture preferences first. Explore the menu that AbhigyanModi suggests or use the built in help. It's there for a reason.

A link issue, conflict between hyperlink and textframe

Hi all,
I noticed some unpredictable behavior after creating a normal textual hyperlink in a textframe. Although the link appeared ok when previewing (both in Muse preview mode, as in a preview browser (Chrome)) it had suddenly changed its state when I was about to click it. After some puzzled attempts I noticed that the hyperlink changes into the 'hover' state once the mouse is over the textframe which contains the link, and not the link itself. When I click the link the behavior is as predicted, but moving off the textframe, and re-entering gives the same effect. Somehow the textframe catches the mouseover event, in stead of the link. Is there a way to disable this behavior, and target the hyperlink in stead? Many thanks in advance. (I searched for this issue in the forum, and encountered similar issues with menus, but not with textframes, if I overlooked an answer, my apologies in advance.

Yes, you did it again. I checked the states of the text-field (didn't discover this option until now), and found that the field itself somehow had states. Now I understand why the states of the hyperlinks were overruled. Assuming that these field-states can be removed I selected the uppermost state, and clicked the trash-can. The links behave normally now. Following your suggestion I post a couple of screenshots (it doesn't show the mouse position) of the unwanted situation, and of the corrected version:
Above: this is the default state with the links in the text field defined in 2 distinct styles, and the mouse somewhere off the field.
Above: this is the unwanted situation where the mouse enters the text-field without rolling over individual links, they jump into 'hover'.
Above, this is the wanted situation, the text-field has no states anymore, the mouse hovers over the text-field, and over the encircled link, which behaves accordingly.
Nifty, I now realise that there are many things you can easily overlook here ;-)

Link PSE 10 and Lightroom 4

I cannot hand over photos from Lightroom 4 to PSE10 to process there further (Mac). Tried almost everything (with formats...) but they will not show up in PSE. No problem loading photos directly from database, though. Any idea? Thanks.

The problem lies between your steps 1 and 2:
I select the respective photo in Lightroom,
chose "process in…. Photoshop Elements 10",
select the option "Process copy…",
the copy gets generated (visible as a second PSD thumbnail in Lightroom),
PSE window opens up
but the window remains blank.
I am using "PSD, Adobe RGB and 8 bit" currently as defaults (as I think that are the least "challenging" settings) but tried also everything else that came to my mind - no success so far.

Works OK for me; how are you opening the files. You normally make the round trip from Lightroom as follows:
1) Ctrl+E in the Library to export selected image with develop settings (I choose PSD)
2) Edit in Elements; then Ctrl+S to replace (overwrite) Lightroom export copy
3) Ctrl+W to close in Elements and update Lightroom thumbnail.

Creative Suite 6 and Lightroom 4 serial number issue

Hi my name is Teresa.
I bought the student edition Creative Suite 6 and Lightroom 4 a year ago through the bookstore of my university in CD download format and installed it in my desktop. I got the serial number through an email that they sent to my university email address. I must have deleted that email by mistake because I can't find it anymore. I didn't register the two softwares on my Adobe account so I can't see the serial numbers on that.
I just bought a laptop today and I want to install the same applications but not knowing the serial number, it is impossible to install. I contacted Adobe Customer Service but they kept referring me to another person to another person, and eventually wasted 3 hours without solving anything.
Is there anything I can do? I am in a puzzle. I need help now.
P.S. I have the exisiting softwares on my desktop but not on my laptop.

If support can't help you, then nobody can. We don't have access to their databases here. Still, try to contact them again and escalate this to the higher levels.
