Droid 2 global home screen glitching?

I recieved my first droid 2 global and after about an hour of using it, the home screen would start flipping to another screen about every 2 seconds. And it would always be the last thing I selected. For example, if I was looking at my contacts and hit the "home" icon, it would go to the home screen for a few seconds and then flip back to my contacts and continue doing this everytime I selected "home." It would also not let me get to the app screen at all.
I did run a virus scan, nothing came up and I didn't download a single app. About all I did was set up facebook for android and add a few contacts.
I took it to a verizon store and the man there had no idea what it was, so after putzing with my phone for an hour including doing a factory reset, he said they'd send me a new one.
BUT I had the same problem with the second phone and I'm completely frustrated and clueless. Anyone have any insight?

ATT: NANCE, YOU SAID IT. I MEAN, YOU REALLY DID HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD!!!      "
My Droid x2 locks me out of my own phone, while in the middle of a text or phone call it just decides to lock itself.
Unlocking my phone is a pain because the touch screen glitches as I try to draw in my lock pattern.
My phone started muting itself on/off numerous times during a phone call with my boss >:(
If I am lucky enough to get my phone unlocked and get to my home screen sometimes it begins selecting apps
or m contacts or the dialer and then freezes.
It restarts maybe 2-3 times a day. The one time I drop it (it started doing this after it fell off my lap as I stood up from sitting at a restaurant.)
And finally just about a week ago it began to start deleting my own contacts..
I loved this phone until it decided to run itself? I Still likr it though,

  • My Droid Razr M home screen keeps crashing after the update.  Can it be reversed?

My Droid RAZR M is now a paperweight.  The home screen keeps crashing.  I'm forced to access anything by sliding down the main screen and going to the new settings area, which I discovered.  I tried forcing the app to stop, but that didn't do anything.  I cleared the cache, disabled it - nothing.  I HATE THIS!  I want to make it go away.  Is there anything short of resetting the phone that can UN-update the update?
Oh, and also, now my texts are Google talk - ugh.  double ugh.
    Frustrated here.

Not even factory reset will roll back the update. My issue was a loss of the ability to connect to WiFi anytime after about 20 minutes after reboot.
The only thing I can suggest is to call tech support and let them walk you through a couple of routines and then they can send out a replacement phone. (It's what I had to do.) My issue is that the replacement is running 4.1.2 and now  my FitBit won't work with it. I wish I did not upgrade from 4.2. (Maybe another release?)

  • Droid RAZR Mini home screen

I have a droid RAZR M. Today, we just upgraded my wife's phone to a RAZR Mini. As I was going through the same basic customizing I did with mine - wallpaper, apps, etc, I discovered the Mini has this annoying scrolling (for lack of a better term) wallpaper and I can't find the option to remove unused pages from the hone page. Also noticed that a right-swipe from the leftmost pages doesn't bring up the settings page lime the M.
Does the Mini have a different version of Android? Is there anything I can do to make the Home page on the Mini look and work like the M?

  • Home Screen Glitch

It's hard to describe but I'll do my best.
I noticed that it happens especially when an app is still being downloaded. Previously, you could tap and hold, then drag the app to next page.
There's this glitch where if I tap and hold to move the app as usual, the moment it moves to the next page, the phone starts acting up. Like the app would move itself to the very last page (sometimes would create a new page for itself and settle there).
If I attempt to find it on the last page, and drag it back to where I initially wanted it to be, it would now move in the opposite direction, again on it's own REALLY quick, page by page,to the first page. Then it would plant itself together with the top-left hand most corner app (mine is Messages) and a folder would be created.
The folder app opens but another strange thing happens. You don't see it there. Only the Messages app.
There would also be a "hole" where Messages used to be because the last app or the bottom right hand corner (mine is the Settings app) has been forced off on to the next page.
Usually the phone would rearage that page such that apps would move by one grid space to leave the last grid empty.

  • Glitch when switching to home screen

    Hi,
I just purchased the iphone 5s and was wondering if anybody else is having the same issue as me. As I close my apps and return back to the home screen, there is a glitch on the top (where the time is placed, battery life) Basically the top of the home screen lags a bit. It isn't a smooth transition back to the home screen. I am wondering if anybody else is having the same problem, or a similar problem and if it was normal.
The problem was not fixed through the new update or a system reset.
    Thanks!

  • Droid 2 Global screen problems, vibrate problems, basically just a lot of problems?

So, I've had my Droid 2 Global (Gingerbread 2.3.4) for about a year and a half, and ever since I got it I've had problems with the touchscreen. I have not rooted or customized the phone in any way, nor have I ever damaged the phone or gotten it wet.
Windows will open by themselves, the music player and maps constantly open by themselves and drain the battery, any time I'm trying to send a text the keyboard goes haywire and will send "wttttttyuuuuttt" and nonsense like that to anyone on my 'recently texted' list. It takes about 10 minutes to send a simple text because the screen won't stop shaking and displaying random letters. It's not just when I'm touching it either. I've had it call random numbers and vibrate for no reason when I'm asleep and it's on my bedside table.
I took this phone to the verizon store when I first got it, they "fixed" it, but an hour later it was back to being glitchy. I took it back, they told me to do a hard reset, it didn't help at all. I tried restarting the phone in safe mode several times (the most recent time being this morning) but the screen shaking and random apps opening issues are even worse in safe mode than in regular mode.
I was wondering if anyone else had these kind of problems, and if so, how would I go about fixing them? Honestly I'm planning on getting rid of this phone in a few weeks but if there's anything I've overlooked I want to check it out.

Hello hammerofasgard! Love the handle, by the way. I'm a Thor fan, too!!
Sounds like you've been having some very frustrating and inconvenient issues with your Droid 2 Global. I have one that I still use but have never seen the behaviors you've described (except for the battery drain, but that's something that was easily managed by just keeping a charger handy). You mentioned having taken the D2G to one of our retail locations for assistance, and that the device reverted to it's previous behavior an hour later.
I'm curious to know if the reps on our store performed a master reset (taking the device back to factory settings). If they did, did you have any of the same apps or settings restored to the device during that hour?

  • IPhone 5S Home Screen icons shifting glitch???

Just picked up my new 5s yesterday and I'm noticing a horribly annoying glitch where when I click back to the home screen all the icons will shift to the right and will become off center and closer to the edge. It might sound small but it's extremely irritating. Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix? I've erased and restored my phone probably 3 times already.

It's a very small difference but if you look at the space between the side of the screen and the icons you can see it. Looks stupid just in a screenshot but when you keep watching it happen it's very irritating.

  • Droid 3 Notifications Panel on Home Screen

Is there a way to customize the notifications panel at the top of the home screen on the Droid 3?  I don't want my Twitter notifications to display there, but didn't know how to remove that notification from the Notifications Panel.  Thanks!

Have you checked your twitter application for a settings to control how you get notifications?

  • 8520 glitch on a home screen text messages

    Hello,
my phone is approx 2 years old and a few months ago developed a glitch in that it shows the number of the text messages I have, and the number is increasing despite the fact that I have deleted all texts from the phone.
I noticed that when I switch the phone on after a period off, it adds new messages and shows them as "new" (with that sparkly sign at the corner of it).
I wonder whether there is a way of deleting this misleading icon from the home-screen?
    Thank you.

  • Droid 2 Global Reboots & Blank Screen issues

This is my second Droid 2 Global.  The first one was replaced within the 30 day purchase period due to a battery charging issue.  Verizon tried replacing the battery (that gave an 1 hour a day more), tried extended battery, no change, could only get 5-6 hours life a day even with the extended batter.  Replaced the phone a week ago with 2nd one, brand new, and now have several issues except the battery. The battery life is great, get a full day, 7 AM - midnight, and rarely goes less than 30%.  But, new issue developed:
    1.  Screen will just go blank at random times, and cannot get the screen display to work without pulling the battery.  Even hitting the off button on the top, it will not turn off or restart.  A call can come in, if I guess where to hit on the screen, I can answer it or with my bluetooth headset.
    2.  Frequent reboots, but short ones, not the full on one.  Today as an example it rebooted 5 times, every 1-2 hours. It will do it in the middle of a call, ending the call, or even when it is just sitting idle.  Another time, I was starting to dial a number, or look up a contact, and boom, reboot.
    A couple of notes,
    1.  the first Global 2 did not do that, just had a charging issue with the phone.  But the apps were exactly the same.  Yes, it would do a reboot, but a full one randomly once a week or so, but not every other hour.
    2.  I am not new to Droid, I also have an original one purchased over a year ago, same apps.  I just replaced it 30 days ago or so.  It rarely rebooted.  I just replaced it because it was too slow in response and the battery was starting to age.
    3.  Been removing Apps that I have been running successfully for over a year thinking one of the updates started this, but I am running out of possibilities.
Any suggestions other than a full factory reset.  That just does not make sense I would have to do that since the phone is only 7 days old, and it has been doing this since its birth.

I understand your frustration in this matter. I suggest completing a master reset of the device. Please back up the phone's information on your PC before the reset, since you will lose the data and the phone will be restored to factory settings. I have included the steps for the master reset below.
    Turn off the phone
Power on phone while pressing "X" key on qwerty keypad - release "X" and power key after you see Motorola batwings.
You should now see an "!" in a triangle with Android guy
Press the "Search" key on qwerty keypad to enter factory menu, this will unhide the menu and show the following options
    Reboot system Now
    Apply sdcard:update.zip
    Wipe Data/Factory Reset
    Wipe Cache Partition
Use Vol Up / Vol down to navigate to "wipe data/factory reset" and then use Camera side key or Menu key to select "wipe data/factory reset"
Use Vol Up / Vol down to navigate to  "Yes delete all user data" and then use Camera key to select "Yes - delete all user data"
Wait for operation to complete (maybe 1 minute or so) and then press camera key to select "reboot system now"
If you have any additional issues, please let us know.
Thank you and have a great day!

  • Droid 2 Global screen issues

My Droid 2 Global, which used to be the best phone ever btw, has been a tremendous pain in the rear for the past 6 weeks or so and its just getting worse.
It started with some random touch screen wouldnt work problems. But normally after a battery pull it would be fine for a while. Then that developed into some "hey look what my phone is doing all by itself" problems. That was bad enough. Now the back button on the screen doesnt work and Im getting what seem like dead zones on the screen.
For the most part it seems to work fine but the screen is getting worse and worse. From what I hear everybody with this phone are having screen issues nowadays.
Is there any resolution? Will Verizon replace the phone under the warranty service? Or is Motorola stepping up to take their lumps on this one?
Or is it just easier to wait until my upgrade that is now only a couple of weeks away?

After experiencing the same type of touch screen problems on my D2G that everyone else is complaining about and
searching the internet for I don't know how long to find a remedy, I found a post from Katie H, VZW Support, in response to
JoulesWinfield's post.  In it she gave a link to run the phone in safe mode:  http://tiny.cc/p6j3iw, which I did.
Well, I thought I had uninstalled all the 3rd party apps, however, I found that Adobe Flash was still there. I uninstalled it, and low and behold, so far,  NO MORE PROBLEMS! Fingers crossed!  Thanks Katie H!

  • Droid Incredible - HTC Flashscreen and Loading Anytime Home Screen Is Selected

On my Droid Incredible, anytime I return to the Home Screen, the white HTC flashscreen appears, then switches to a "loading..." box before the Home Screen appears.  This occurs whether I select Home Screen or use the back arrow to close an app.  Here is the software information:
    Android Version:  2.3.4
    Baseband Version:  2.14.10.07.07
    Kernel Version:  2.6.35.13-g03546aa
    Software Number:  4.08.605.
My available Phone memory is 393MB
My Application data storage is Total - 149MB, Available - 42.9MB
I can't tie it to any app load or update.  It seems to have started after the Android update to 2.3.4.
Any idea what might be causing this and how to eliminate it?
Is there any way to identify the date on which apps were loaded or updated so that I could work backwards removing them until I find the offending app, if it is an app?
    Thanks for any help.

    Good morning SPS007,
May I ask have you tried the recommendation that ae89194 posted above? If not then it's worth a try. If that doesn't resolve the issues then I would recommend a factory reset. I have provided a link below on how to complete a reset on the Droid Incredible.
    http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=30946
As always, I encourage that you back up all of your contacts prior to the factory reset. Backup Assistant is an excellent option, as well as your Gmail account, to archive your phonebook. Once the reset has been completed, I recommend setting up all the accounts that you frequently use to during the device tutorial. After the setup is complete then retry the screen for functionality. If you are still having this issue then please reply to this message with your findings.
    Thank you...

  • Hi my iPod touch is glitching, as of yeterday. Everytime I open an app (except safari, music or camera) it flashes the app an ten goes straight back to home screen. I recenty updated when I connected to iTunes, but it shouldn't do that. Help please? :)

I guess it's all in the question really. But yeah, when I press on an app on the home screen, it opens for a fraction of a second and then closes again, just a flash, and it's starting to irk me. Thanks for any advice :)

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Download/install any new app.

  • I have a very strange home screen app glitch; can someone please take some time to read this because I am stuck!

I truly thank anyone who reads this and offers any suggestions.
I went to the App Store on my iPod touch 4th generation (6.0.1) and downloaded an app.  Then I went back to the home screen to move the app inside a folder.  I did this while the app was downloading.  I held down the icons and they began to wiggle.  As I dragged the app icon over the folder, the screen froze, then went through a bunch of random whatever.  Now, suddenly, I have two copies of the same app, one of which is ready to use, and one that has the "Installing" bar full.  I can't delete either of them.  Is there ANY way to fix this without restoring?  Thanks so much for your help.

Yes.a reset does not erase any data. I always do that when my ipad has a problem. Even apple says it before you go to the genius bar.
You never know how a reset and just fix one simple thing.
