Droid 3 Hide unwanted app icons

Is there a way to hide the bloatware app icons on my All Apps screen for the DROID 3? I press and hold the icon and get a choice between "add to home" or "add to group." I understand that I cannot remove the app, I just want to hide the icon.

If you have several such items in the Launchpad, you can combine them into a folder-type (collection) icon. To do that, just drag one of them on top of another; when the second one highlights, let go. You can add more icons to that same collection. To use one of the items in a collection, click the collection's icon and it will open a sub-field in Launchpad, from which you can select the item you want.

Hide unwanted app updates

Is there any known way to hide app updates so I don't keep seeing them? I'm specifically asking because I want to hide the iOS6 app updates for my original iPad (since I can't upgrade them anyways). I thought swiping might show a "hide" option or something, but no luck.

You can hide the apps themselves but I don't know if that hides the update notifications. But if you hide the apps themselves, you might not be able to access them. I have never tried it.

Could be a couple of things:
1) Press the home button until the search page displays. type in app store. If the app store is listed abs an option, it likely means you have moved it. You can open it from the search page, but ultimately you want to search your pages and folders for it and move it. If it doesn't show up, try:
2) Check your restrictions to see if you have diabled it. go to Settings > General > Restrictions. If Restrictions is set to Off, that's not the issue. We'll need to explore something else. If it is On, tap it and set Install Apps to on.

Delete or hide old unwanted apps in iTunes Version 12.1.1.4

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but over several years and several itouch, iphones and now an ipad I tried several free apps that I latter decided I didn't like or didn't want to pay the maintenance fee so I deleted the apps from the device but with then new iTunes I can't even figure out how to hide them.
I'm finding some updates to iTunes nice but others a huge pain in the behind can some one help me hide unwanted apps from the list in iTunes 12.1.1.4. To be honest I would prefer to delete them totally but as near as I can tell you can't. Can someone please help me hide them, do I don't hit the little cloud icon on an app in the app store, and re-install the app I don't want.

You are welcome. Can you select iTunes in the Music Folder and take a screen shot of it? Use the Camera icon to post the screen shot in a reply.

Is it possible to hide an app icon in the applications folder so it will look like I do not have this app and still use the app?

If it is a Apple system application, no they do not allow modification or moving.
However you may create a folder placed in applications and move (some) 3rd party applications into it, the folder will be visible, depending on the view option you have selected, the contents may require an additional step to reveal them.
If you are more specific as to what you are trying to do, maybe someone can offer more advice/suggestions.

Posed the question to Apple senior support this evening and we went to the Itunes store and removed all the unwanted icons from the collection of hundreds, one by one. Since hiding them on your Mac (you did it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the store homepage ?) have you tried logging out and back into your account on your iPad ? I haven't tried it on the IOS 7.1.1, but with iOS 7 there was (or maybe still is) a 'feature' that meant that after hiding them you then needed to log out and back in on each iOS device for them to become hidden from the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it - tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and log out and then log back in.

Yes. On a computer. Not ios6.
On iTunes on your computer under purchased, select the x on the top corner. That will hide them.

Be sure there are no Restriction. Go to Settings//General/ restrictions
if there are no restrictions on Apps then got to Settings/General/Usage and under Storage select Manage storage scroll down and find the App in question, seleft the app then hit Delete.

Hide app icons when switch desktop 2, 3

My dock is very empty, only have running applications there.
I am using 3 spaces - desktop 1. home desktop 2. study and desktop 3. work.
At work I might have Outlook for Mac running on desktop 3. When I return home to desktop 1, I might have QuickTime, PhotoShop and Safari open. All of these applications are open, but I just want to see the relevant application icons being used on that desktop.
How can I hide the application icons when I switch between desktops.

I can no longer hide purchased apps in iTunes

I've read Apple's support article on hiding and unhiding purchases in iTunes (iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases - Apple Support), and while I used to be able to hide apps in my Purchased list in this way, I no longer can with the current version of iTunes (Mac version 12.1.0.50). I used to be able to do as described in the Apple Support article: hover over the app, and an "x" would appear in the upper left corner, which when clicked, would allow to hide the app. In the current iTunes version, nothing happens when I hover over the app. What now appears is a cloud icon in the upper right of the icon (which allows downloading it), but no more "x" when hovering... I AM able to "unhide" apps which I previously successfully hid, as described in the Apple Support article. Does anyone know how to hide apps in the current iTunes version??? Thanks in advance!

You can't currently do it directly on devices that are running iOS 6, you will need to do it via your computer'siTunes

Demo's answer explains how to hide it in iTunes... but if I understand correctly, you're trying to hide the icon on the iPad screen but still have the app on the iPad? There's no way to do that. You could put an app in a folder, which isn't exaclty hiding it, but is the closest you can come. If you enable restrictions the app will be hidden, but that only works for certain apps and you'd have to turn off the restrictions to use it.

I have a requirement where my application need to be accessed through the tray icon in OS. I have created my application as an installer and on executing, the application is opened and shown in task bar as well as in icon tray.
Is there any way to not to show the task bar icon and only access the application with tray icon.? ( Like Stickies app)

How to delete unwanted apps

How do I delete unwanted apps that I do not want anymore? And also to where they are not even stored in iCloud? How does one get rid of iCloud? I think somehow I got an iCloud account that I do not even want... is there a way to get rid of that? Thanks in advance.

Tap and hold on the app icon until it starts to wiggle. Tap the "X" that appears. Note, you cannot delete the preinstalled apps.
Apps are not stored in your iCloud account. Only you would know if you signed up for an iCloud account. If you don't want to use it, log out. Settings>iCloud.
