DROID 3 Sliding out keyboard resets phone

I have had quite some problems with the Droid 3. After receiving FIVE refurbished phones(give or take, one or two, honestly I've lost count), the last three(received over a span of two weeks) have had the issue where sliding the keyboard open with a moderate amount of force resets the phone. The third refurbished phone I received as a replacement degraded to the point of ANY slight movement with the phone would cause it to reset itself. After working with customer service, the most viable option was to receive a "similar" phone, the LG Enlighten for $39.99(cost of the battery mainly, along with the phone). Not very similar, needless to say, in terms of specs. I won't even bother to detail the issues with the other refurbished DROID 3 phones.

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution, other than you may need to slow down. But, one feature of the keyboard is probably to add the period and start a new sentence automatically when double-tapping the space bar. If you hit it repeatedly, it may be registering two of those, adding in the (assumed) appropriate punctuation.

The LG ENV3 will work without a data plan, as will several of the older "multimedia" phones and basic phones. My husband is still using an LG VX 5400; my mom uses an LG VX 5200 and both send and receive picture messages (though they are small). Samsung Sway, Alias, LG Voyager, EnvTouch - all of these work without a data plan, and will send and receive texts.

No, when resetting an iPhone it resets the actual data contained within the phone, nothing on your iCloud will be affected. It is a good idea to use seperate iClouda and iTunes accounts then you can each create your own backups regularly without your daughters backup overwriting yours or vice versa.

You should be able to remove the passcode by restoring the device. Do the following:
1. Connect the device to the computer to which you normally sync;
2. Open iTunes (Note: If iTunes prompts you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes" in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212 )
3. Right-click the device in the left column of iTunes and select Back up (read this article on how to restore http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 )
4. When the backup is complete, select Restore
5. When finished, restore from your most recent backup
To restore read the restore section in this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
If that doesn’t work you will need to perform a factory restore to remove it.

We're just users like you but it's doubtful that Apple is going to ruin the sleek lines of the phone by adding a slide out keyboard.

Not entirely sure what you are asking, but a passcode to unlock an iOS device is normally 4 digits long (so is a 4 digit code), though you can make it alphanumeric and longer (so effectively becomes a password).
If you don't know the passcode to unlock your phone or it's showing the disabled screen then there are instructions on this page for how to reset a device : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 - you should then be able to restore/resync your content to it.

I was told to create a password for my itunes backup, which i did. Now its telling me my passwords is incorrect. I dont know what to do because i am locked out of my phone and don't remember its password.

The backup encryption passcode has nothing to do with locking a user out of their backup.
If the encryption passcode has been forgotten, nothing can be done. There is no reset for the encryption passcode.
Delete the backup and create a new one.

The headphones don't work
If your iPod's headphones don't work or have static or garbled audio, try connecting them to any other 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, like the one on your computer. If the issue with the headphones persists, replace them. For an iPod under warranty, you can order a replacement online. Otherwise, check out the cool headphones at theApple Online Store. If you set up your phone correctly, it is still protected by the Activation Lock and can be used without knowing your AppleID and password.

Will i lose my icloud contacts if i connect with my reset phone?

I left my phone in a club and they reset it (although i had it locked) before it was returned to me (obviously planning on using it themselves) i have my contacts fortunately backed up on icloud and what i would like to know is if i connect my now reset phone to icloud will my contacts on icloud be reset as my new contacts directory is blank. Also is there a way to import my icloud contacts to my phone or do i have to manually enter them.

i set mine up for Exchange today and when I went to turn on Contacts it warned me this it would replace all my contacts with the ones from Exchange. Since I have all of my Personal contacts in a group on Exchange/Outlook anyway it was Ok for me. Once you are setup to sync with Exchange and Contacts it no longer sync with the Contacts on your computer.
What worked out well for me was I was just testing the Exchange piece so I later turned off Contact synching and it erased all of the Contacts on my Touch. Then, the next time I synched with my computer I had the option to sync Contacts again from the computer and that put me back to the way I was before playing with the Exchange piece.

Here's what the Apple Support site says you can do if you do not have access to a computer when your device has been disabled:
If you are using Find My iPhone, you can use Remote Wipe to restore your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode.
You can access Find My iPhone via the Find My iPhone app on your iPad.

Droid 3 wont start or reset

I have a Droid 3 that wont turn on. I've tried reseating the battery, plugging it into its power cord, trying to enter safe mode (http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=44874), trying to hard reset (http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=44747), and I still can not get anything to display on the screen nor any green lights to show up. I've let it charge a while (although it had full charge previously), removing the sim card and putting it back in, and such to no avail. Still have a black screen.
What is the next step I should take?

Ad9109, that is terrible that you can not receive picture messages! I use my messaging app all the time and I would be frustrated as well. Do you have any issues with text messaging? Can you send and receive text messages? Do you have any trouble sending emails?
When you try to download the photo what error message do you get? Do you even get one?
You mentioned that you did a hard reset by pulling the battery and you did take other proactive measures to resolve this but have you performed a master reset on the device? The master reset will erase your device completely and bring it back to its original state. Doing a master reset is one of the last steps we would take in resolving this issue. Before you do the master reset, make sure that you contacts are synced up with Google. Here are the steps to do the master reset:
From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch Privacy
Touch Factory Data reset
Touch Reset Phone
Once you take this measure, reprogram the phone by dialing *228 hit send and choose option 1. When the phone is programmed your messaging issue will be resolved. I hope this helps. Thank you.

2. Connect and then disconnect the headphones.
3. Verify that the headphone connector is pushed in all the way, so that the headphone's plug shell is flush with the headphone port, like this:

Press and hold the menu and center buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

If so, what happens to a message after it is successfully sent has nothing to do with the cell phone that sent the message.
