Droid 3 Unlock permanently

Hi
I would like to unlock my Droid 3 permanently..
Let me explain.
When the display times out, the display goes off.
Then if I press the power button, the display lights up and the screen has the date and time in the upper left and in the middle left is a lock icon. One has to swipe the lock icon from left to right to gain access to the desktop.
Is it possible to the permanently, remove the screen that has the date/ time and lock icon and go directly to directly to the desktop after I press the power button?
How can I do this?
Thank you

There is not way to disable the lock screen permanently but you should be able to download NoLock from the market and then the only time the lock screen will show is after a reboot but after unlocking that one time the lock screen should stay compressed until next reboot...
Just to make sure you understand what you are asking, if you disable the slide to unlock option if the device wakes in your pocket you have a chance to delete files, call people or change a setting because there wont be anything to restrict screen interaction...   Just figured I would point out the positive and the negitives..

  • Droid x unlock button gash

I have currently had the droid x about a month now and I have been trying to protect it in every way including seen screen protectors and a case. I was deeply sadden to see my unlock button key with a gash on it. Has any one else notice this? Is there a way to fix it?

haha...SHAC, i think you miss the point!  His concern isnt about functionality it's about aesthetics.
I will say, i have had my X in a case (which i just removed because i like the feel better w/o a clunky shell) but there is a tiny, i mean as small as a pinhead little dot where the paint is missing on the edge of the phone. I spent a week looking for a way to color match it using sharpies or touch-up paint.  Which, I did!  I spent a week and 20 bucks to cover a tiny pin head sized "dot" of missing paint.
Funny thing about all this is, my wife slipped and took a header....I don't remember if I even asked if she was OK!!

  • Droid Bionic Unlock Code

    Hi all,
Does anyone know if Verizon is willing to provide a SIM Network Unlock code to unlock the GSM side of the Bionic?  I've seen a video online where someone purchased a code from a website and got to the screen where it asked for the Network Unlock code....but their code didn't work (probably because the site was shady).
I noticed that Verizon has discontinued selling the Bionic and figured they might be willing to give the out the code.
Any help in unlocking the GSM side of the Bionic is appreciated!

You're much more likely to get help for this kind of question/issue on non-Verizon, non-Motorola sites -- one of the several Droid forums, including but not limited to, xda-developers.
If you've already tried and failed on those sites then I'd guess that it doesn't exist.
    Good luck.

  • Can i get my droid mini unlocked?

can verizon help me get the unlock code ?
    droid mini

Gotcha that is true, from another VZW rep posting in the forums:
In order to have the PUK code retrieved, we need the prepaid mobile number and the MEID of the device.
Once you have these two pieces of information then I encourage you to give us a call at 1-800-786-8419. We are looking forward to hearing from you and getting this resolved!

  • Is droid maxx unlocked?

Before we left for Costa Rica, I asked  Verizon whether our Droid Maxx could take a Sim card from a vendor down here. I was assured that it would work.
We tried a Movistar store, but it did not pick up any network.
Is there something special I have to do?
Right now, I only have an HP tablet, running Android and can't get to the support chat
    Help me please!

        @Skydaver2,
Let's get you up and running! I definitely understand the importance of being able to use your phone while traveling in Costa Rica.
I do see that the Droid Maxx is a global phone and it is unlocked for you to use a local carrier's SIM card. Unfortunately, we are unable to troubleshoot the phone with a different carrier's SIM card. You will need to reach out to the local carrier for assistance.
If you want to use VZW service while in Costa Rica you will need to add Global services to your line. Visit http://vz.to/1aGvDAs for information on what you need and the rates.

  • My iPhone 4S lost its official permanent SIM unlock

    Hi,
I've had my iPhone 4S officially unlocked by my carrier (Orange France) through Apple.
As instructed by Apple, I restored it in order to fully unlock it. Restoring it is supposed to make the unlock permanent therefore bypassing the need for activation when using different sims.
This worked perfectly until last week (I traveled to the UK and Brazil and used local prepaid cards without having to re-activate it) when I tried using a brand new French Free Mobile sim card. To my surprise, I had to re-activate this iPhone using a wifi connection. This shouldn't have happened as the iPhone had been fully and permanently unlocked by restoring it (iTunes confirmed this after the restoration).
Now, I have to reactivate it every time I want to use a different carrier sim card as if it had lost its permanent unlock.
Activation on a SIM basis works using wifi BUT I shouldn't have to go through this. It looks like the iPhone lost its permanent sim unlock. This is very frustrating. It might not seem like much of a trouble but it is. For instance, when flying to a foreign country, if I want to switch sim cards in the plane, I won't be able to activate the iPhone without wifi connectivity which forces me to "hunt" for a wifi hotspot after landing in order to be able to use my iPhone.
There are many reports of French users having issues with Free sims with either activation or unlock.
My question is simple: if I restore once again my iPhone, how can I be sure the permanent unlock will stay that way if I use a Free Mobile sim card?
Will this problem be fixed soon?
In addition, switching sim cards in a plane is problematic with current firmwares as, when switching sims in a non-permanently unlocked iPhone, wifi is automatically turned on in order to try and activate it without the user actively choosing to do so. So many people will end up having wifi on in a plane when regulation prohibits it.

  • 10g Database SYSTEM user account unlock

I wish to permanently unlock my SYSTEM user account. I have tried:
    alter user SYSTEM identified by xxx account unlock;
After running the command I can logon successfully one time to the SYSTEM account then it is automatically locked again. The next time I try to logon I have to unlock the account again.
How can I make the unlock permanent?

    1. Modify the password used by oraperf.dll
The 10g Windows documentation informs customers to run a tool called operfcfg to change the password.
To set the system password, enter the following: operfcfg.exe -U SYSTEM -P password -D TNS_ALIAS_FOR_DDATATBASE
See Oracle Database Installation for Windows 10g guide, section 4: Configuring Oracle Components; Configuring Oracle Counters for Windows Performance Monitor
    or
    2. Disable oraperf.dll
NOTE: This step should only be performed by knowledgable Windows System Administrator's:
To disable the oraperf.dll, modify the following key in the registry. HKeyLocalMachine\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Oracle10\Performance. Change the value for Library to "notthere_oraperf.dll" from "oraperf.dll".

  • HT201328 Why my phone can't activate after restore? Even att confirm my iphone is qualify to unlock. Pls help anyone. Thx!

    I

    KiltedTim,
Are you saying that if my iPhone is currently jailbroken and unlocked via Cydia and I just got it "unlocked" permanently by AT&T it would not be possible to upgrade to the latest iOS and use non-AT&T SIM card?
Basically, I just go my iPhone unlocked by ATT and it is troublesome all the times to go through the UltraSn0w process to unlock the phone after jailbreaking it.
Can I just now go ahead and restore my iPhone to the latest iOS and not worry about jailbreaking it/unlocking it since now AT&T has unlocked it permanently and use it with any other GSM network?
Please advise... and thank you for your help in advance

  • Imei unlock

While imei unlock is the safest and permanent unlock, where does one go to get their phones unlocked this way?
Apple constantly redirect customers to their carriers but carriers often claim unaware of such unlock and refers customers to local unlocking dealers which does not provide permanent unlock!
Rogers and Fido are the main 'culprits' of this referral.
Can anyone, especially Apple, provide any insight to how one can get their iphones unlocked PERMANENTLY?
    Thanks

In my experience, unless you are talking to the CEO or chairman of the board, there is ALWAYS someone higher up you can insist your inquiry be redirected to - a supervisor, manager, VP.  Anyone you call on tech support or talk to in the store has a boss above them.
i found this on the Fido forum, second post is by a moderator:
    http://forums.fido.ca/t5/forums/forumtopicpage/board-id/NonTechnical/thread-id/1 576/page/1
My understanding is that a carrier must submit the unlock request through proper channels to Apple (with all necessary information), and then Apple initiates the unlock.  You plug your device into iTunes, the unlock goes through, and you should see confirmation of the fact in iTunes.  So the actual unlock is handled by Apple through iTunes, but the request must come from the carrier.  By everything I can find on the web, Fido offers to unlock all of their devices - if the people you are speaking to say otherwise, insist on talking to their supervisor or boss, or go to a corp. store and ask to speak to the store manager.
No second party unlocking service could even do it - they don't have access to the apporpriate databases and information.  Any such "service' is hacking phones, not formally/officially unlocking them.

  • Iphone Verizon simlock unlocked exchange cause of warranty

I bought an Iphone 5 in the US last summer with a Verizon simlock. Because I am from Germany, I paid to have my phone unlocked permanently in the store so I could use a german simcard. Now because of warranty issues, I'm going to get a new Iphone from Apple. But this model has the Verizon simlock again. I already paid for unlocking, so my question is, where can I send my unlocked old phone IMEI and the simlocked new phone IMEI, to get my new exchanged Phone unlocked?
    Sincerely Arnold
PS: Please excuse my english, I'm not a native speaker.

Unless I am mistaken all Verizon iPhones come unlocked with the ability to use a foreign SIM card in it. You do not need to do anything special in order to use a SIM card from a local German provider.

  • Why does Verizon not allow unlock bootloaders?

So I been wondering why is it Verizon is blocking the bootloaders on Android phones, when you have manufacturers unlocking them for the users who are paying a ridiculous amount for the phones to begin with.  I was hoping to see the droid phones unlocked, and motorola is living up to their end by unlocking them, but it seems Verizon is being difficult about it.  I think since we do pay a ridiculous amount of money for the phones we should  at least have that abililty.
I find it odd that it is no problem to the rest of the world, who seem to get their updates quicker as well.  But over here Verizon has a issue,

Yeah I know its possible and it would be nice to remove the crapware, which I think is causing issues for the phones. I understand verizon uses them for profit and yada yada yada, but you should be allowed to delete them. And it would be nice to get these os updates quicker then the normal year it takes them to roll them out.
fyi...."if" your device ever gets ice cream sandwich, one of the features of it will be that you can completely disable preinstalled apps. you still can't uninstall them, but you can disable them to the point that they will not show up in the app drawer AND will never randomly open and start running. i thought this was a pretty nice feature.
Yeah actually using go launcher on my phone, and one of the neat features it has it allowed me to hide the bloatware, so at least it's a little more helpful.  Yeah I'm glad google is finally wanting to get somewhat of a handle on the bloatware, that's one of the reasons I am really looking forward to the new nexus phone coming to Verizon.  I am half tempted to use the "r word"  heaven forbid people use the word and want to have complete control of their phone lol.

  • Unlocking question on iPhone 4

Hi, I just had my iphone unlocked by my carrier. I just completed a restore via itunes, and would like to know if I set it up with my original sim card, will it lock back to that or is it permanently unlocked ? Will my friend be able to insert his sim from another carrier and use it. Thanks

If it was officially unlocked by the carrier following this procedure:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5014
then it will remain unlocked permanently.
    Regards.

  • Using Sim in unlocked iphone5 from another country

We have an unlocked iPhone5 purchased in Canada. Currently we have sim from Bell Mobility. We are now in Florida and would like Sim from carrier here. Who can provide prepaid SIM card? AT&T advises it won't work. Confused!

I had a buddy working for Rogers, not sure how correct that info is, but I was told that all phones sold in Canada are unlocked, but then locked to first carrier. Forgive me if I am wrong, with that second hand info, but if he was correct your phone is locked to bell Canada.
Your buddy was simply wrong.  All iPhones purchased directly from the Apple store in Canada are unlocked, permanently.
Where does op say - she/he purchased it from apple store?
