Droid 4 and getting vcards by the default text program

I just had a vcard sent to me, the default text message program won't display it. I also have Pansi text installed and it won't show the vcard either. I had to have it sent to my gmail account. It was turned into a contact quickly. In the default contacts program how do I compose a vcard for myself?

Thank you Ann154. Someone sent me a vcard from their htc android by text and was surprised that it did not show up in the default text program. I couldn't find it anywhere either, the vcard was sent twice and just dissapeared both times. He sent it to my gmail acc. and it came through and was turned into a contact when I opened it. Good. I am just wondering if the default text is a very light program. The htc android text seems to be a bit more inclussive of this type of service. I searched the download file and the internal files and can find any sign of the vcards. I don't know how to find the default text messages own storage if that is what you are referring to. On exporting, I don't see where the default "contacts" program has any "send vcard of contact" setting or option. You can share if that is highlighted. I don't see where that helps get my vcard type info to someone that is calling and I want to sent them my info at that time. Thanks for your time, I am registered to attend a class through Verizon. The last class I went to (2 1/2 years ago) was Blackberry Storm and the instructor didn't have a Storm and was barely able to tell us the basics.

Highlight the file you want Quicktime 7 Pro to open -
Goto File > Get Info or (CMD I)
In the Get Info window, scroll down to "Open with:"
Select the player you want to open the music file.
Click the "Change All..." button if you want to

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in. Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

Lion, Mail, and Outlook. I can't get preferences in Mail to accept Outlook as the default mail program. Outlook works fine within the Office world but not with Preview or Lightroom (to choose two that I've tried today). Any ideas?

As per the heading, I can't get Lion to accept Outlook 2011 as the default mail program. When I go through the Preferences in Mail to set the detault mail program, I can see Outlook, I can select it, but it doesn't "stick." As soon as I reopen Mail, Mail is the defailt mail program again. It also doesn't work though the Outloook Preferences menu. I'm a recent transfer to Macs, and could use some help. Any ideas?

When adding a new contact, the number shows up as "radio" instead of "mobile" or "home" and I have to change it every time. What does "radio" mean and why is it the default? can that be changed?

Radio is a type of phone service offered by certain carriers. Sprint for instance offers their Sprint Direct Connect Phones (a.k.a Nextel) which have built in Radios. Short Wave or CB radio type features. Also referred to as Push to Talk services.

I get the Radio option when using Hotmail contacts as the default Contact creator. If I change it to iCloud or Gmail I no longer get the Radio option in the labels.
If you are using a service such as Hotmail/Outlook.com for your contacts the radio option may be present.
You can change which service is the default service to create new contacts with by going to Settings->Mail Contacts & Calendars->Contacts->Default Account
The Radio label is just an identifier for those types of Phones so you know its a number for a radio phone.

Since recent updates, I have noticed that my apps close automatically when I am distracted. In some cases it is time consuming to sign back in and get back to the task I was doing. Is it possible to change a setting so the apps will stay open?

Did you have this problem before Restoring you iPad?
If you did then did you restore with a backup. You may have reinstalled something that is conflicting in this back up
If not then sounds like either something went array with the clean install or a hardware issue.
I know it's long winded but have you tired a clean install then downloading the apps again?

Or if you don't want to give credit card details : Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method
But you won't be able to transfer purchases from your old account to it, all content that you download from the store will remain tied to the account that downloaded it.

How to get rid of the main text box in the back of the page AND move things

I usually work in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, but am creating two newsletter templates in Pages for a colleague, since it will be easier for her. But, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get rid of the main text box in the back of the page that is driving me crazy. I just want a nice blank page that I can do whatever I want with. AND, I can't figure out how to select things so that I can move them, like shapes and text boxes. Some things seem to move fine, then other things just sit there. I am at the end of my rope!!!

Hi, Dylan. Welcome to Discussions.
If you're referring to the area where you just start typing when you open a new blank document, you can't get rid of it. But you also don't have to use it. You can insert text boxes and size and position them as you desire. Just be sure they're defined as Fixed on Page. When one is full and you want to continue it to another page (or to the side), click in the blank blue box on the lower right side of the text box. That will create another box and your overflow text will flow into it. Then position it where needed.
Also, you can create a text box the width of the page and then set it for 2 or more columns.
When you want to send something to the back and you may want to access it again later, just use the send backward command. If you send it all the way to the back, it will be behind the main text layer (where it will be safe from acvcidental movement) but you will have to click outside the work area and then drag the pointer to the object to select it.

Adobe reader (11.3.2) PDF's on ipad and getting error that the file is corrupt!!

i have the latest Adobe reader from the app store (11.3.2) however i am struggling to open PDF's on ipad and getting error that the file is corrupt!!

Would you describe how you transferred the PDF file to your iPad and iPhone? Did you send it as an email attachment and open it on your iPad and iPhone?
The file may have been corrupted by Apple Mail, which is a known problem. Please see Problem #1 in the FAQ document How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems.
Would you try some experiments so that we can troubleshoot the problem? During the experiments, please use cloud storage (e.g. Acrobat.com, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) and avoid sending the PDF file as an email attachment.
Rename the corrupted/damaged PDF file on your iPad. For example, add "_damaged.pdf" to the file name.
Upload the corrupted/damaged PDF file to the cloud storage of your choice.
Download the corrupted/damaged PDF file from the cloud storage to your Windows or Mac desktop computer.
Open it in the desktop version of Adobe Reader XI for Windows or Mac.
Does Adobe Reader XI on your desktop computer display an error message?
Upload the (good) PDF file on your iPhone to the cloud storage.
Download the (good) PDF file from the cloud storage to your iPad.
Open it in Adobe Reader on your iPad.
Does Adobe Reader on your iPad display an error message?

I had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do: Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version! One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. The old app will remain on the ipad. Hope this helps, good luck
