Droid 4 Constantly dropping calls

Has anyone else (who's had their Droid 4 for a year or more) had any problems with an increase in number of dropped calls as the phone is getting older? It's now happening to me daily, and it seems that they are now occurring more and more often. I have the extended warranty and insurance on my phone and am trying to decide if it's worth the hassle of filing a claim on one or the other. I very rarely get a "call lost" message; in fact, I'm more likely to be talking along and wonder why the person isn't responding, then look down & the call is just not there any longer. I've also started getting a very bad "reverb" style sound  at times.

Hello sarabugstar,
A dropped call is not something that we are used to reading about from our customers. Rest assured that we are on the job to get this resolved as soon as possible. Let's start with what zip code are you in? Are you having issues with your data services? Also, can I assume that there isn't any liquid or physical damage on the device? As you share the details of your concern then we can customize a solution for you. I'm looking forward to your reply.
Thank you...

  • Constantly dropping calls no matter the phone

All Verizon phones constantly drop calls in my house.  Signal constantly bounces from 2-4 bars when the phones aren't moving.  The only place I can make calls without dropping signal is if I step out in my back yard.  How do I put in a ticket or have someone check this out.  The problem has been here since I moved in 2 years ago, however it's progressively gotten worse.  Phones are HTC Winphone 8x and Samsung Brightside, but family's Droid X2, Iphone 4, Iphone 5, LG showtime, and a couple other basic phones all have same issue.

        Hi mtpica112471!
I apologize for the inconvenience because I realize the importance of operable service! Let's look into this. Current zip code? There can challenges present with indoor coverage.

  • We used to have great service, now it sucks! Constantly dropping calls, dead areas that have never been dead. Getting fed up and getting no help from Verizon.

This is really getting old, no help from Verizon. Service was great 2 years ago now it sucks, Constantly dropping calls, dead areas where there used to be fine. What is verison doing to help this???

I have an iphone 5s, my husband has a casio, my sister in law has a Samsung, my friends have various phones we are all experiencing the same thing – dropped calls, no service and it is outside as well as inside the house or the car. At our residence and along the drive to work or to the store. I don’t text much or use my data much so I am mostly concerned with the telephone service.

  • Moto Driod constantly dropping calls

I really hope someone can help me, My Motorola Driod is constantly dropping  my calls.  I can't even talk to someone for more than 2 minutes without the call being dropped.  In addition to that problem, while I'm talking to someone, the phone will randomly mute the phone to where I can hear the other person but they cannot hear me.  It basically happens 99.5% of the time, please help!

Hi!  I am sorry you are having issues with drop calls.  I can certainly look into this for you.  TheGreatOne is certainly correct, I would first suggest dialing *228 option 2 to update your phone.   If that does not help, I may need to check your area so I can see if we are having any issues with your area.
Please let me know if updating your phone works.
If not, can you please send me your zip code so I can check your area?
    Thanks!

  • Droid 2 dropping calls

My Droid 2 frequently drops calls while I'm talking. Does anyone else have this problem? I don't want to go to a Bluetooth device because I just don't get enough calls to justify walking around with something in my ear.

There are a few things that could cause dropped calls. First check the Coverage Locator to verify the coverage in your area. Also, how long has this been happening? What area are you located? There could be an outage in your area. Lastly, when did you last update the preferred roaming list (PRL)?
    To update the PRL:
Power on the phone within the Verizon Wireless coverage area.
Dial *228then press SEND(this call is airtime free and may take up to 2 minutes).
When prompted, press 2for the option to update the PRL.
Once completed, a confirmation message will appear to informing that the phone has been re-programmed with the new PRL.
    Press Endto terminate the call.
Power cycle the phone to complete the update.

  • Droid 3 dropping calls

I'm surviving the horrible battery life - even with all apps turned off and an "extended" life battery - but I don't think I'm going to survive this phone dropping calls.  It's so annoying.  But if that isn't bad enough, the thing doesn't quickly recover from its issue so that I can quickly re-call the person.  I'm now using a (horrors!) landline to make calls I don't want interrupted by my Droid 3's disconnect.
    Anyone else with this problem?
Any suggestions for resolution?  (I've done a couple of battery pulls already.)
    thanks

I have lots of drop call too.. I have called customer service. First time they just replaced my Droid (I am on my 5th one now). Then they said I had put a "1"  and the area code in front of all of my numbers in my address book. So I went and changed that. Then they told me to dial "####" every time I get a drop call... I was doing that for 2 weeks and called them to find out what the problem was and was told that the "####" was wrong and I was supposed to be dialing "###" instead. I was doing that until I got 9 drop calls in one day (easy to keep track when you have ### in your recent numbers dialed). Talked to them again and what did they do ?? Yep replace my phone again... I have had this Droid 3 for a week now and have not gone a day without getting drop calls..
I have done master resets, and dialed the *228 for tower updates and reactivate my phone. I also shut my phone off once a day to get it to refresh itself.
    Any suggestions for resolution...
I have been told I can upgrade until October.. I have asked for an early upgrade so I can get a different phone but they will not let me.

  • Droid x - Dropped Calls, Freezing Screen and Now its auto dialing

Just got my Droidx cell phone and at first loved it,but now getting frustrated.  Quick 1-2 minute calls are ok anything longer and it is dropping the calls.  Also periodically the screen freezes.  Now last night it called a friend 30 times during the night, I hadn't called her so not sure why it picked her number.  Any thoughts would be helpful.... I can't have a phone that is going drop calls and randomly call my contacts.
    PLEASE HELP!

Good Afternoon rxpertmed. I know it can be frustrating when your device is not performing well.
Is your software up to date on your Droid 2 Global? The latest version is: 4.5.629.A956.Verizon.en.US.

If the software is up to date, please try running the device in safe mode to determine if third party apps may be causing the issues.

  • IOS 4.3 constantly dropping calls

I updated to iOS 4.3 about 2 hours ago. Before updating, I had maybe 1 call drop every few weeks. Since updating.. I'm checking my call log to be accurate.. What should have been one 24 minute call was broken up into 16 calls because it kept dropping. Then another for a total of 12 minutes during which there were 10 drops. I have nothing out of the ordinary to explain it other than the update.

I just started having problems with dropped calls today on my 3GS, even though i updated a few days after the update came out. I tried calling someone today and the call dropped 8 times. My signal was fine. The call time is only about 15 seconds before the call drops again. I tried calling them back and it dropped 3 more times. I called someone else to make sure it was my phone, and it dropped 3 more times with that person. I am extremely angry as my phone is now useless as a phone. If this is 4.3, they need to fix it now!

  • Iphone 4 constantly dropping calls or "call failed"

I've been having nothing but trouble the past couple weeks with dropping calls or getting the "failed call" showing up when trying to make a call. It happens more times than not and i spoke with Apple today and was told that after you try all the resets and restore options it should be fine. If that doesn't work, its more than likely a SIM card issue and needs to be cleaned or replaced. I did all the restore and backup and all the other garbage they advised me to do, and still did not work. Took the SIM card out and im not sure if its supposed to sparkle in the light, but its pretty **** clean. Re-inserted it, and still dropping calls or "call failed". Next option is getting a new SIM card tomorrow and i'll update what i find out.
Previously, in July, some moron from Canada was beaking how its a service issue and he's on Rogers network, blah blah blah and he's never dropped a call and its superior to AT-T and mentioned something about how all the ppl would have no trouble if they were on the Rogers network.
Well i'm from Canada and work with 2 other ppl, surprise, from Canada who are having the same problem with the iphone 4........its not a network thing whatsoever, because ppl on Telus and Rogers are having the same problem. Im assuming he was from Toronto where the center of the universe is and he was basically just being an idiot, so for that moron, i apologize to ALL who are having issues with the iphone 4 and hopefully Apple gets their act together and solves this issue!!

Hey everyone, I think I finally got the solution for this. It appears to be a NETWORK ISSUE with the phone provider. I am a Telus subscriber and after speaking to a cool tech guy from Calgary named "Corey", he performed the following task:
He told me he had to reset 4 settings on the network for my account. A few of which were under something called "STF viewer" "PLMN" and "PRL"...
Aftewards, I had to go to my iphone: General > Reset > Reset network settings
I am now able to complete phone calls (and apparently my reception sounds better to my call recipients/callers too). The problems is not related to a "faulty device" or "something" you did... If the problem happens again, I'll call my provider and have them investigate the ticket further as it could be a bigger network issue (with GSM) but chances are it just requires a simply settings reset on the backend of your provider's data support team.
After doing the reset, all I had to do was reconfigure my wifi password. No other settings were lost. (and more importantly, I didn't have to re-restore my iphone, didn't have to go to Apple and sound like one of those "iPhone 4 vs HTC cartoon characters" and didn't have to yell like a child to anyone. Just be cool when you call your provider's tech people, these guys are good hard working people and will help you and will have a better chance at success if they empathize with you and don't feel annoyed by you (I'm in IT, I know how it is).
I was also told that if I had to call back and if they had to reinvestigate, the next steps would probably involve having my SIM card changed but based on the previous tech's experience, it would be highly unlikely. I will update you further should I encounter any further issues. Just don't be hating on the iPhone 4 as most people do coz it is a sweet device if you can understand the tech specs behind the underlying issues.
Hope this helps you guys and anyone else who got frustrated by this problem!

  • Droid Razr Dropping Calls

Is anyone else having problems with the droid razr cutting in and out then dropping the call. Today is the 4th day that I have been experiencing this. I've done a full factory reset twice already and the phone is up to date. Could it be effects from the hurricane? Verizon doesn't seem to have any answers for me. My phone is only 5 months old and have never had this problem until Sunday. They checked the area for problems and there were none. Please Help. I'm getting very irritated and my cell is my only way of communicating.

It Could be if you Live close to the Area Was it Working Ok before the Storm Threw)
One thing i want pass on too ya!  After Doing a Factory Reset you need to Let the Phone Get it's Legs under neath of it sort of Speak) it takes a while for it to Get things Re-organized in itself as it was before the Reset and you did two of them) Don't get me Wrong a F.D.R is good thing to do just give the little guy some time to catch up) And it should be fine. b33

  • Skype constantly drops calls

I have the ipad air, its half a year old and for some reason it constantly disconnects and reconnects from the internet every 20 minutes
When i'm in a skype video call, it drops every 5 minutes
Others have said turning off bluetooth will make it work, but i've already turned it off.
    Can anyone help me?

Get in line!, at your local Apple store!
"WARNING"     Please read this before your decide to buy a 4S iPhone from Apple "WARNING"
I purchased a 3GS phone, worked great, excellent reception, NO CALL drop outs excellent phone.
The phone was 17 months old, loaded a new software update and the problems started!
Phone would get to between 50% and 80% battery life remaining and the phone would just shut down. I had to plug it back into a charger for about 20min before it would boot back up.
Tried for 3 months to get it right, software updates etc, etc, etc.
    GAVE UP!
Bought a new 4S, took it out of my Telstra Country Business store, after being guaranteed that it had the Telstra counrty tick of approval and it droped out, cancelled calls, calls failed, bad reception, my clients only hearing every second or third word that I said.
Returned to the Telstra store and they said they could send it away for me to be repaired !!!!!! Phone was 10 minutes old!
So the story goes, hours on the phone resetting the software turning stuff on and off.
Then off to the Apple store 1 hour 10 mins drive away, brand new phone supplied to me, excellent service!
The new phone is as bad as the last one!
PLEASE ! Dont buy an Apple iPhone for your business calls, they don't work! and it will cost you many hours of your time and possibly your customers!
I was a possinate Apple customer!

  • Droid Eris - Dropping Calls!

Is this a common problem? I'm probably dropping 2 out of every 3 calls. I've had the phone since mid-May, and it's really getting annoying.

i've seen MANY eris users complain that the screen doesn't time out when on a call. this causes them to accidentally touch the screen and eventually end the call. does your screen appear to turn off when you put it to your ear? try to put it to your ear and pull it away (quickly) and see if it is going off when talkin and then coming back on when you pull away from your ear. if it's not then it's prolly a problem with the sensor (there is a sensor so it knows when you have it held to your ear. many things cause issues......hair in the way, dust/debri, the way in which you hold the phone, etc). just a theory.

  • Help!  my new HTC drops calls constantly...

I just got this phone a few weeks ago and it is constantly dropping calls at my home.  My previous old basic phone never dropped calls here.  I have updated the phone several times and it hasn't helped.  My husband got a G'ozone and it is doing the same thing.  I am thinking we should have gotten iphones instead of droids.  Anyone else have this problem?  Any suggestions?  Also, I am wondering if there is a time frame where you can return a new phone and get something else?

        Hi kiz,
I also have the Galaxy S3 and I have not experienced any issues with calls. I want you to have the same experience! As indicated by Ann154 (thank you!), the coverage in your area may have something to do with the quality of your calls. Please provide us with your ZIP code and we'll check the type of coverage in your area. We can also replace the SIM card to ensure that this issue is not SIM card related. If you have not requested a SIM card replacement yet, please follow me and send me a DM with your account number and I will follow up with you to order a SIM card replacement.
