Droid DNA SIM card issue--I want to be issued a completely different phone.

So as most (if not all) Droid DNA users are aware--there's a BIG problem with the device/software. The updates aren't fixing it like they are supposed to, in fact for me the errors are worse than ever! A simple restart won't even get rid of it so I have to do it 5 times before it finally goes away. I don't want to be issued another Droid DNA that is going to be just the same with the same issue (thats simply a waste of my time and frankly the Droid DNA has already wasted enough of my time already)
I want verizon to issue me a completely different phone, because when I paid for my phone I paid a lot of money for a phone that I thought would work 24/7--but no, this phone is obviously defective. And I DO NOT want to deal with this for another 2 yrs.
SO my question is---I know I'm not the only one out there that feels this way, has anyone talked to verizon about issuing them a completely different phone free of charge or paying the difference (in the event the cost would be more for a particular phone during the 2 yr contract renewal)
(thanks for any feed back, I'm dreading going up to the store and talk to the people who just want your money or will just tell me they will issue me a new Droid DNA, I've seen the other discussions, the phones the people are getting have the same exact problem!!)

So I wanted to give you all an update, I finally decided to do a chat with a verizon online rep--I refuse to go to a store in fear that I might blow up. I guy I talked to was understanding to the issue and told me what I needed to do..do I like what he said? No, but I was at least happy he understood the frustration and actually ACKNOWLEDGED that this is indeed an issue.
This is basically what he said in a nut shell:
1) Do a factory reset--supposively that will help with the software update
I backed all my pictures/contacts up on goggle+ and all your apps will be in google play (all except my candy crush           extra lives which I thought was odd/conspiracy)
    RESULT: same error times 5.
I expressed my hate in having to do the reset but I'm basically going to have to back all my stuff up anyways if I get           a new phone
2) Request a replacement phone--because I spoke to him thru the chat our conversation can be saved to my profile so whoever assits me next will be able to pick up where we left off---I find this to be EXTREMEMLY CONVENIENT! (you can also have the convo emailed to yourself for reference)
RESULT: Haven't done this yet but I'm waiting for the chat to become avail so I can request a replacement. But I'm              assuming it will NOT work.
3) Once they replace the phone and in the event I still get the error I have to contact HTC and they will have to replace my phone, Verizon apparently cannot do anything after that.
I want to say I'm made as all get out but I guess I understand that its a HTC issue and not so much a Verizon                      issue..they are basically just stuck in the middle. Do I agree with having to contact HTC--NO. But at this point I will           do whatever I have to do to get a new phone because I HATE THIS PHONE.
My recommendation--Use the so you can have reference and evidence of the issues and evidence for HTC that you have done everything possible to get this resolved.
(to go to Chat: go to Verizon wireless website>contact us (upper right hand corner)>get in touch>Chat now (if avail)

Contact VZW for support.  They will either need to register your SIM, send you a new SIM or send you a new Jetpack accordingly.  Nothing you can do about that one other than reseat the SIM and try again.

  • Please reply if you are experiencing Droid DNA SIM card errors

Please reply if you have a Droid DNA and are experiencing SIM card errors.
    1) Have had it more once every couple of months.
    2) Occurs more than once per week.
    3) More than once a day.
If you aren't experiencing SIM card issues, can you reply to the other thread?
    Thanks!

No sim-card issues here also...! I feel sorry for people who have to deal with this "Known" problem on a daily basis. I'm almost certain owners of the DNA are feed up with the run-around tactics Verizon and HTC are implementing. NOBODY wants to take ownership of this problem and in doing so would cost Verizon and/or HTC millions..!     So ------ what do they do in the meantime - they play the blame-game ---- pointing fingers and saying, "It's not me - it's you or in this case it's a software problem --- no it's a hardware problem"...!  At this point --- WHO CARES --- I just want a resolution once and for all...!  No --- I don't want a third sim-card to try (going on fourth---actually I've lost count), No --- I don't want to take-out the sim-card and clean it then reseat, and above all else No --- I don't want a refurbished phone when my "Brand-New" one is 2 months old..!

  • Droid DNA Sim Card Error

I know that this error is common with the DNA however it is extremely inconvenient and unfair when we have to pay our bill and the phone gets that error and drops service constantly. It is like Im paying for service that I can't even use. I went to our local verizon and asked about putting a different sim card in and they said it wouldn't really help. Does anyone know when this glitch may be fixed or if it is even being worked on?!?

    Hello SLRoss,
We want you to love your Droid DNA just as much as we love you. It saddens me to see that you have a frown face for the DNA. Well have no worries as I am here to change that all around. Let's get these dropped calls taken care of once and for all. May I ask what city, state, and zip code are you in? First, I want to verify that there isn't any network enhancements that may be affecting your service. Also, have you had the sim card exchanged already? If not then I would like to diagnose the device with the original sim card first. If you can be so kind as to send me a private message with your full name, mobile number, and a brief summary of the issue then I can begin an investigation for you. I'm looking forward to your reply.
    Thank you...

  • Anybody *Not* have the Droid DNA SIM card error?

Please reply if you have a Droid DNA and are *Not* experiencing SIM card errors.
    1) Never even once had a SIM card issue.
    2) Have had it occur less than once every couple of months.
    3) Only had it occur when cycling the power less than once every couple of months.
If you are one of the many who *Are* having SIM card errors, please reply to a *different* thread.
    Thanks!

I'm still interested if there's anyone with a Droid DNA who is *Not* experiencing SIM card errors.

As demmo86rt, I'm not expecting too many folks to notice this thread, and so it's not a scientific poll or anything, but it would nice nice to find out if any DNA doesn't have this issue.

  • The Cost of the Droid DNA SIM Error:  $299!

    10+ year Verizon Wireless customer
Recently endured 2 years of the HTC ThunderGarbage.
Switched to a HTC Droid DNA on launch day.
I dealt with the SIM randomly not working and being inaccessible multiple times a day.  This was a pretty common problem (over 1 million results on Google for "Droid DNA SIM error").
I had enough when I missed an urgent call on a family matter and called Verizon.  The agent said nothing was in the works for a resolution so I could send it in for a replacement device.  It's a major issue.  A phone that intermittently can't send and receive calls.
My malfunctioning phone had a crack in the screen, but was 100% functional otherwise.  Well, other than when the design/manufacturing problem caused the SIM to not be recognized.....turning my phone into a 2-year contract paperweight.
Now I get a $299 Damaged Device Fee on my bill.
To make matters worse, less than a month after returning my phone, Verizon released a minor software update that fixed the SIM error.  I'd rather have my old phone with the software update.
The "activation fee" and stuff like this.........it's no wonder people are switching carriers.

The Cost_of_sales_account & Sales_account as defined in the MTL_PARAMETERS are different from those in MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B for the corresponding item. The values for these accounts in the interface tables are same as that in the MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B table and hence not same as those defined in MTL_PARAMETERS.
Actually we have a Custom trigger on the MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B table which updates these accounts, once the item is created in the Master Organization.
To verify this issue, I updated the accounts on the MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_INTERFACE table to match with that of MTL_PARAMETERS. Ran the 'Item Import', now those records are processed.
Does this means that, the Interface is validating the cost_of_sales_account & sales_account to match with that of the 'Organization' ??.
But we never had this issue in 11i. Is this a part of R12??

  • How to unlock my droid pro sim card while in New Zealand?

I need my phone to work here in New Zealand but before I came I was force to cancel my contract with Verizon because I am here for 8 months.
I need help in unlocking the SIM card while over here so I can use votophone service.

        Hi adamwondering,
I can certainly understand you wanting to unlock the sim card in your device for international usage. If a phone is active on a Verizon account our Global Support Team has the ability to unlock it, however if the device is not active we are unable to generate a lock code. If you are interested in unlocking your sim and using on another carrier you can always contact that specific carrier to unlock your device in stead.
    Thank you,

    Depends
If you need a cellphone then No.
If he wants more than $1 then No.
I would suggest that you buy an iPod Touch from Apple.

There is no way that you can locate the iphone at all.
The thief can restore it and use it as their own.  You will never know or be able to tell what they do with it.
Very sorry.  Your iphone is gone.
Report it to the police and change your passwords.

  • I bought an iphone 4s factory unlocked. Can i set it up with my sim card in canada then take it out and bring the phone to iran without any problems?

I I bought an iphone 4s factory unlocked. Can i set it up with my sim card in canada then take it out and bring the phone to iran without any problems?

A legitimately unlocked iPhone should work with any compatible 3G GSM carrier. The iPhone, however, is considered 'restricted technology, and cannot be legally taken to Iran.

  • I connected my iphone 3g to itunes which was in 4.1 firmware and itunes ask for an update which i downloaded an updated the phone to version 6.1.3 but my phone cannot start it shows no service my sim card is not getting network and i cannot use the phone.

i connected my iphone 3g to itunes which was in 4.1 firmware and itunes ask for an update which i downloaded an updated the phone to version 6.1.3 but my phone cannot start it shows no service my sim card is not getting network and i cannot use the phone. what should i do.?

First, you do not have a 3G if you could upgrade it to 6.1.3, because 4.2.1 is the last version that will work on the 3G. So you either have a 3GS or you somehow hacked the phone to install an incompatible version. You can check the model you have by entering your serial number here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
Assuming you have a 3GS the most likely reason for your problem is you have a gray market phone that was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it. When you upgraded it you removed the hack, so the phone is now locked to its original carrier.

  • Droid Turbo Sim Card Issue

I just bought a turbo online full price, I have an active verizon account. How do I get a sim card for the new phone?

Sim cards are free at your local Corporate VzW store or by contacting Customer Service.

  • Will Droid 2 SIM card work in a droid Bionic?

I have an old Droid 2 phone and I want to purchase a used Droid Bionic that does not have a SIM card. What would I need to do to make it work? Can I put the SIM card from my Droid 2 in the Bionic? Also, can I use the bionic with prepaid if I decide not to renew my contract?

I saw a very detailed tech report on that awhile ago.  Verizon is being very clever in that they are using some of the features of the dual-mode R-UIM-like features of the nano-SIM (C-SIM ?) slot for personal account information and LTE data provisioning.  But the Verizon CDMA network connection data is still stored in firmware and the integrated whole (in terms of connectivity to Verizon's own network) gets pretty complicated.
(and the older I get, the less interested I seem to be to follow the details and understand the technology - does one grow out of geekness over time?)
Regardless, from the OPs point of view, he'd need an iPhone with CDMA capability, regardless of how the voice and data network provisioning and account info is split between firmware and SIM.  A A1429 GSM-only iPhone is just that, GSM-only, no CDMA.

  • Droid Bionic Sim card

I just received the Droid Bionic today and the Sim card is not recognized by the system and therefore cannot be activated. Technical Support is closed by 11pm and it is now almost 12 midnight. There is no online support to address the issue of a sim card that is not recognized by the Verizon system.
Any suggestions other than waiting to go to the VZW store when it opens?

You will probably have to go back to your store.
The SIM is supposed to be activated when the subscriber info is entered into the system, either by the CSR at the store, or over the phone on that 877 (?) number. Then the card is inserted into the phone and the phone should activate over the air.
Supposed to, that is. My Bionic attempted to activate for 24 hours without success. The store guys were finally able to make the phone activate the next morning by inserting the card into an HTC Thunderbolt, letting the SIM activate, then re-inserting the card into my Bionic, where I was able to set the phone up from there.
Maddening, yes. But you might suggest this to the store guys when you take the phone in this morning.
    Good luck, Geri O
