DROID DNA unable to detect SIM card

So, apparently this is a known issue at this point. My phone didn't start doing this until about 2 months ago. It started off just doing it every couple days, but it has increased to being 5+ times per day now. Has anyone had success in getting this resolved through Verizon? I've lost all confidence in the phone.

Call HTC and request a new SIM card tray.

Unable to read SIM card after latest update

I downloaded the most recent android update on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on 12/10. Since that update, i've gotten the message "Unable to read the SIM card. Please restart your phone to read the card" a half-dozen times. The timing between the messages is sparatic (one time it was a few hours between messages, another time a full day, then 12 hours the third time, etc...).
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there a simple fix to this (such as just getting a new SIM card from Verizon)? I'd like to think that the update wasn't the culprit of this, but I've had my Note 4 since the initial release, and it's only started happening since the last update.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm having the same "Unable to read the SIM card" issue. My phone is less than two months old, the unable to read SIM card issue started about a week after I purchased the phone. That was followed by a host of erratic, sporadic issues to the phone becomes unusable and the only way to temporarily fix it is to remove the battery for a few seconds. I've gone through the factory reset with Verizon reps where I purchased the phone from as well as with a Verizon online Chat representative. In a nutshell, I got a ticket to send the phone back to Samsung in Plano, Texas to get the phone fixed, I am going to do that today because this problem is ridiculous.

BlackBerry Z10 Second can't detect Sim card

I just bought a Blackberry Z10, secondhand from people I met from Internet
The Blackberry is still kinda new, used only for a month. And I got it pretty much cheaper
But the problem is, this Z10 can't detect sim card (yes the previous owner been telling about this before. She said its happened after she's upgrading the software)
So, I bought it, and re-installed the software (10,2 - 10,3 - even back to 10,1) still not working.
I'm trying to search the similar issues on Google, and found that it possibly because the simcard reader is broken
I check the simcard reader, I'm not really sure, but yes, seems there one pins missing on there. I saw only 3 pins on my Z10 simcard reader. Haven't seen any other Z10. Would you mind to check your Z10? How many pins on there?
And also, does the warranty will cover this issues if I claim it? I mean, it seems because human-error (previous owner might put the sim card not really carefully).
If not, how much it cost to fix it and change the simcard reader part? Well think I'm not gonna gambling anymore to buy a cheap gadget in the hope I can't fix it by myself

Iphone 3GS cannot detect SIM card

Hi My iphone 3GS cannot detect the SIM card.
The phone shows full bar for service provider but 3G unable. It cannot receive incoming calls and make outgoing calls.

I am assuming you updated to version 5.1.1, not 5.0.1 since no legitimate version of 5.0.1 is available.
Where is this iPhone from and what means did you use to unlock it?

I upgraded my iPhone 3GS 32GB from iOS 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 a couple weeks ago and since then it can not detect the my SIM Card ever. Before it's been upgraded, the phone was working just fine, but now it's just like a gameboy to me. I've been trying to find solution and some stores want me too pay quite amount of money to fix it but I refused.
By the way, it has been jailbroken with RedSnow, tethered of course... and all the features are working perfectly, the WiFi is working, syncing is working, Bluetooth is working, downloading apps from App Store is okay, but only Mail and Safari won't work. I haven't got a chance to go to Apple Service Center to fix it yet, but the store I went said that Apple may say the same.

The problem is not about upgrading an iPhone to a newer version of iOS. Your problem was upgrading a hacked phone, one of the well known consequences of which is re-locking and/or bricking the entire device when restoring in iTunes. You chose to hack your phones firmware and operating system, so you must accept the consequences of going outside the bounds of normal use that Apple prescribes and supports.
Had you not hacked it in the first place, you likely would have never had a problem, and if you had, Apple would have offered support to deal with it. Your choice, your decision, your consequences.

Unable to Detect SDHC Card on Windows 7

Hi guys, recently I received a 4 gb sdhc card but when insert the card into the card reader & plug to the usb port, win 7 was unable to detect it. 1st thought was this sdhc card is bad but i when plug it to another win 7 pc it detects
straight away, so the card is not faulty. I tried uninstalling the usb driver & HID driver still can't detect. Notice that under the disk drives it does show 'Mass Storage Device USB Device' which means it actually did detect but won't show up
in 'My Computer' ..... Why? Hope someone can help to resolve this issue. Thanks

Here is the answer from Scandisk
STEP 1 - Backup the registry
1. Unplug the device from the USB port.
2. Run regedit.
Windows XP: Go to Start > Run, type in regedit and then click OK.
Windows 7, 8 and Vista: Click the Start button, type regedit in the search box, and then press Enter.
3. From the registry menu, choose File > Export.
4. Name the file SNDK.reg and save it to your desktop.
STEP 2 - Remove SanDisk info from the registry
WARNING: DO NOT delete any registry key other than keys that include VID_0781. Deleting registry keys other than keys that include VID_0781 MAY cause your computer to not boot properly.
1. From the registry menu, click Edit and choose Find.
2. Type in VID_0781 and click Find Next.
3. Once the search finishes, right-click the highlighted registry key and select delete.
4. Press the F3 key to find the next registry key that includes VID_0781.
5. Right-click the highlighted registry key and select delete.
6. Repeat this process until the search returns with No results Found.
NOTE: Under Windows 7, 8 and Vista, some registry keys may be protected and cannot be deleted. Simply skip over these keys if you receive a message that the key cannot be deleted.
7. Once all registry keys containing VID_0781 have been deleted, reboot your computer.
8. Plug the device into the computer after it's finished rebooting.

Z10 no longer detects SIM card

I recently had to re-install my OS due to my Z10 freezing. Since I have done this it no longer detects the SIM card. I have tried other cards with the same results. I have done multiple security wipes and have even tried different OS versions (I am currently running 10.2.0.1157). All the other features of the phone work fine. Wifi and bluetooth are not affected. Just the SIM card reader. I purchased this directly from Blackberry through a friend of mine who works there. He has not heard of this happening before. Has anyone experienced this and if so how did they work around it?

Well, i did but it was my fault when i inserted the sim in a wrong way. Why dont you try getting a new sim and it might solve your problem & if that dosent - take your device to the service center as it might be a problem with the sim card holder & pins.

You say it was bought unlocked, are you _sure_ about that?
In any case, this is an issue with either the carier in Peru or ATT. There is nothing anyone here can do for you on this.

Activate old 3G - unable to recognize SIM card

I have a 3G with a cracked screen that will not recognize a SIM card. My kids use it as an ipod and to take pictures. I stupidly upgraded to ios 4.0.1, not realizing I needed a SIM to activate. Is there any way to activate without a SIM- it is currently stuck on the connect to itunes screen. Would a genius appointment be of any use.

Is the sim card from the carrier the phone was locked to or last used with? If so, put the sim card in the phone, then:
See if you can force the phone into recovery mode:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. Select restore from backup, follow by syncing your itunes content.

Yesterday my Ipad Air was detecting the sim card and today I turned it on and on the lock screen it said "Sim Card not installed" even though there is a Sim Card inside it
How do I make it so it detects the sim card?

Droid Pro does not recognize sim card

All of a sudden today my Droid Pro, which I have had less than a year is not recognizing the sim card. It is up to date on software. I can still receive text messages as well as phone calls. One other thing it has started to do at the same exact time, is that my text message will freeze and I will have to force close or turn off my phone and restart. I can't get through a whole text. Is anyone else having this problem? I've had way too many problems with the Droid Pro and Verizon never seems to take care of it, so hopefully someone here can help me out.

I would like to assist you. Have you attempted to remove the sim and re-insert it? Has the sim been replaced before? Please let me know so I know what steps have been attempted. To address the text messaging concern I have a few questions as well. Have you cleared the keyboard cache and data under Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All>Keyboard? Have you ever complete a factory reset? Please advise. I would also like to provide a suggestion. Navigate to the Google Play Store (formerly known as Android Market) and search for Gingerbread Keyboard and download it. Once downloaded go to Settings>Language and Keyboard and enable the Gingerbread Keyboard and exit the settings. Enter the text message application and long press on an empty text field and choose the Gingerbread input method and test. Please respond with your results and the answers to the questions above. HELP!!! iPhone randomly reset and now it won't detect SIM card?

Ok so here's what I was doing when this all happened.
I had called the Linksys support for a new router I just bought that wasn't working right. After waiting about 8 mins I was connected to a gentlmen in India, we worked on my problem for about 10mins or so and then all of sudden my phone just reset, or at least went to the apple logo and just sat there.
then after 30 seconds it started ringing (before it fully restarted) and it was the tech gentlemen call me back. So I slide the thing to answer and the screen froze with the slider on the right but not unlocked but I could see the time and my back ground, just no buttons and I could still hear him and talk to him.
After we fix my problem with the router he hung up, but my phone was still froze and then it started ringing (a friend had tried to call me before it reset while I was on the phone so I assume it was him again). I couldn't answer and it just kept ringing and ringing so I held the wake button and slide the red slider to shut it off.
Left it off for 30 seconds or so then press and held it again to turn it on. Now it says restore need, connect to itunes!
ok, so I did and after wait about 30sec to a minute after connecting it to itunes it comes up with this error:
*"iTunes cannot activate your iPhone because the SIM card is not inserted or a SIM PIN is required. Disconnect your iPhone, make sure the SIM card is inserted correctly and, if you use a SIM PIN, tap Unlock to enter it, and then reconnect your iPhone."*
What the heck?! I've had it randomly reset once before about a month and a half ago and which point I did have to restore, and it did and it worked fine after that.
The SIM card IS in there, and I have no idea what my SIM PIN would be, nor do I see the option for it they speak of! And this happened about 9:30pm, well after any Apple or AT&T stores are closed! I even turned off the phone, took the SIM card out and put it back and it still did the same thing!
What would cause this to randomly just mess-up like this? I loved this phone when I got it but now that this is the 2nd time this has happened and much worse I'm pretty ticked about it. And it's not like I hacked it or unlocked it or whatever that is even called, the only things I've put on my iphone are music, pictures, and programs I all got thru itunes!

I'm writing this from the UK. Got an iPhone 3G bought a few weeks ago and activated (no jailbreak or other stuff)it. It worked fine but last night it gave the same error as originally reported in this thread.
Went into the O2 store (this is the provider selling iPhones in the UK) and they told me is the SIM card. Got a new one but still the same...
There is something going on here because I've seen lots of claims with the exact same description. Its almost like there is a bug in the software that gets activated on the 3rd of January.
Will go tomorrow again and ask for a new phone.

UNABLE TO INSERT SIM CARD IN Z3

I purchased a new BB z3 online two days ago. I tried to insert a micro sim into the slot but it is not getting locked. It comes out even after repeatedly pressing the sim card. Is it a manufacturing defect. will it take time to get it repaired?
