Droid dropping calls!

This phone is horrible!! It drops call constantly. I cannot finish a conversation. What is Verizon doing about this? I have called and called. They have opened Trouble Tickets and nothing!! Yet I see so many having the same issue. Has anyone found a fix for this??

I've had my Charge for around 5 months and I'd say it has dropped a call maybe 4 times total.  And those were all in bad signal areas.

  • Droid 4 Constantly dropping calls

Has anyone else (who's had their Droid 4 for a year or more) had any problems with an increase in number of dropped calls as the phone is getting older? It's now happening to me daily, and it seems that they are now occurring more and more often. I have the extended warranty and insurance on my phone and am trying to decide if it's worth the hassle of filing a claim on one or the other. I very rarely get a "call lost" message; in fact, I'm more likely to be talking along and wonder why the person isn't responding, then look down & the call is just not there any longer. I've also started getting a very bad "reverb" style sound  at times.

    Hello sarabugstar,
A dropped call is not something that we are used to reading about from our customers. Rest assured that we are on the job to get this resolved as soon as possible. Let's start with what zip code are you in? Are you having issues with your data services? Also, can I assume that there isn't any liquid or physical damage on the device? As you share the details of your concern then we can customize a solution for you. I'm looking forward to your reply.
    Thank you...

  • Droid 2 dropping calls

My Droid 2 frequently drops calls while I'm talking. Does anyone else have this problem? I don't want to go to a Bluetooth device because I just don't get enough calls to justify walking around with something in my ear.

There are a few things that could cause dropped calls. First check the Coverage Locator to verify the coverage in your area. Also, how long has this been happening? What area are you located? There could be an outage in your area. Lastly, when did you last update the preferred roaming list (PRL)?
    To update the PRL:
Power on the phone within the Verizon Wireless coverage area.
Dial *228then press SEND(this call is airtime free and may take up to 2 minutes).
When prompted, press 2for the option to update the PRL.
Once completed, a confirmation message will appear to informing that the phone has been re-programmed with the new PRL.
    Press Endto terminate the call.
Power cycle the phone to complete the update.

  • Droid 3 dropping calls

I'm surviving the horrible battery life - even with all apps turned off and an "extended" life battery - but I don't think I'm going to survive this phone dropping calls.  It's so annoying.  But if that isn't bad enough, the thing doesn't quickly recover from its issue so that I can quickly re-call the person.  I'm now using a (horrors!) landline to make calls I don't want interrupted by my Droid 3's disconnect.
    Anyone else with this problem?
Any suggestions for resolution?  (I've done a couple of battery pulls already.)
    thanks

I have lots of drop call too.. I have called customer service. First time they just replaced my Droid (I am on my 5th one now). Then they said I had put a "1"  and the area code in front of all of my numbers in my address book. So I went and changed that. Then they told me to dial "####" every time I get a drop call... I was doing that for 2 weeks and called them to find out what the problem was and was told that the "####" was wrong and I was supposed to be dialing "###" instead. I was doing that until I got 9 drop calls in one day (easy to keep track when you have ### in your recent numbers dialed). Talked to them again and what did they do ?? Yep replace my phone again... I have had this Droid 3 for a week now and have not gone a day without getting drop calls..
I have done master resets, and dialed the *228 for tower updates and reactivate my phone. I also shut my phone off once a day to get it to refresh itself.
    Any suggestions for resolution...
I have been told I can upgrade until October.. I have asked for an early upgrade so I can get a different phone but they will not let me.

  • IPhone 5 Dropping Calls

I've been with Verizon for roughly 13 years now.  Through numerous phones, I've always had great service - reliable, good signal, MAYBE 2 dropped calls in all those years.  I recently exchanged my old flip phone for an iPhone 5.  For the most part, I'm greatly enjoying the phone.  Except . . . it's dropping calls like crazy.  In fact, a couple of days ago, it dropped 9 times in a single phone conversation (I was ready to just drive to my friend's house rather than continue.)  I haven't had any issues with internet, e-mail or anything else, just phone calls.  However, considering this is a phone, that's a HUGE issue and extremely frustrating.
When the call drops, I can call the person back right away, but again - frustrating!
Any suggestions (aside from switching back to a more traditional phone?  Which I am about ready to do.)

I have been having and my wife also. We both have an iphone 5, mine is the 32gb hers is the 16 gb. I have contacted tech service with no help. We've had verizon for aprox 10 years. We've had service at our home not the best but never had problems with dropped calls or cutting in and out till maybe 6 months ago. Our son has a iPhone 4S with no problems and our daughter has a droid bionic with no problems. We are getting very frustrated, we have few problems anywhere else but at home. We've even had problems Outside at home keep in mind we have had verizon for years without problems but now we can't continue to pay premium prices for substandard service. As for a verizon network extender I'll try one if it's provided by verizon but I will not buy one, it's not like we just moved to a new house we've lived here for 27 years and our phones worked here for years. Our zip code is 24210. I also work at 24202 and I also experience dropped calls there as never before with verizon. Verizon has problems and either not admitting it or they are blind. Just google verizon iphone 5 dropped calls you'll see Lots of people with similar problems.

  • My Razr maxx hd keeps dropping calls daily no matter where I am. How can I fix this?

This phone keeps dropping calls a few minutes in most of the time. I am tempted to tossing this phone out and switching to iPhone but I loved the droids since the beginning. This has been happening for the last year and now I am tired of it. This phone needs help...

        AngelMunoz2011,
I am sorry to hear about your troubles with service on your phone. We definitely want to make sure that you are always receiving the best service options. What zip in general are you having the most trouble in? How many bars of signal are you typically getting?  Could you try clearing the cache on your device http://vz.to/KRifEf and also try removing/reinserting your 4g sim card. We are here to help, so please keep us updated.

  • Help!  my new HTC drops calls constantly...

I just got this phone a few weeks ago and it is constantly dropping calls at my home.  My previous old basic phone never dropped calls here.  I have updated the phone several times and it hasn't helped.  My husband got a G'ozone and it is doing the same thing.  I am thinking we should have gotten iphones instead of droids.  Anyone else have this problem?  Any suggestions?  Also, I am wondering if there is a time frame where you can return a new phone and get something else?

        Hi kiz,
I also have the Galaxy S3 and I have not experienced any issues with calls. I want you to have the same experience! As indicated by Ann154 (thank you!), the coverage in your area may have something to do with the quality of your calls. Please provide us with your ZIP code and we'll check the type of coverage in your area. We can also replace the SIM card to ensure that this issue is not SIM card related. If you have not requested a SIM card replacement yet, please follow me and send me a DM with your account number and I will follow up with you to order a SIM card replacement.

  • Moto Driod constantly dropping calls

I really hope someone can help me, My Motorola Driod is constantly dropping  my calls.  I can't even talk to someone for more than 2 minutes without the call being dropped.  In addition to that problem, while I'm talking to someone, the phone will randomly mute the phone to where I can hear the other person but they cannot hear me.  It basically happens 99.5% of the time, please help!

Hi!  I am sorry you are having issues with drop calls.  I can certainly look into this for you.  TheGreatOne is certainly correct, I would first suggest dialing *228 option 2 to update your phone.   If that does not help, I may need to check your area so I can see if we are having any issues with your area.
Please let me know if updating your phone works.
If not, can you please send me your zip code so I can check your area?
    Thanks!

  • Droid X2 Calls lock up and end, Then I receive a voicmail?

So this has happened two times with my Droid X2, I'll be getting a call, I pull it out of my pocket, I slide to answer, I hear NOTHING and I mean NOTHING. I even put it on speaker phone the last time it happened. (half hour ago) The call will end. I put it back in my pocket thinking maybe it was the other line. (bad service or something) I had perfect signal each time this has happened keep in mind. A minute later I'll receive a voicemail when I clearly answered the phone and it ended! Does that make any sense? I called the person back and let them know that I DID answer the phone and it ended so why they didn't hear me? Only God knows. And how they kept hearing a ring and got to my voicemail? Only God knows...unless one of you smart people here know or have had a similar issue? Hope anyone can help with this issue I have come across. Thanks!

Cody21, thanks for your input. RIPCharge, I know this type of issue can be frustrating especially when you’re expecting a call or receiving a return call from friends or family. I'm sorry to hear you’re having this type of problem with such a great phone. I researched your issue in more detail and found some customers had this issue with their Droid X2 and we found a similar issue was due to the proximity sensor not engaging while on call, and other varying user physical characteristics. It was found that some calls are being terminated as the end call button is inadvertently activated and that customers may be experiencing perceived dropped calls due to lack of far end audio or muting. The recommended solution is to press the power button after a call is established to enable the screensaver mode to prevent accidental call terminations due to lack of far end audio or muting..
The trouble shooting steps suggested by Cody21 are steps we would also advise to fix issues with the functionalities of your phone. I will list steps below to clear cache, to put the phone in safe mode, and to perform a factory reset..
    Steps below to clear cache:
From a home screen, select App menu (located in the lower right).
    Select Browser.
    Select Menu.
    Select More.
    Select Settings.
    Clear cache
    Select Clear cache.
Visited website content stored on the device. The cache enables the browser to download only the content that has changed since the last time a website was visited. Since the browser only downloads changed content, pages are loaded faster.
    Select OK.
     Clear History
    Select Clear history.
A listing of URLs (website addresses) that have been recently visited.
    Select OK.
Steps below to put phone in safe mode: Safe Mode temporarily disables all applications that have been installed via the Android Market. Performing this troubleshooting step can determine whether a 3rd party application is the cause of an Operating System / Application issue. .
     To Enable Safe mode
    Power the device off.
Press and hold the Power button then select Power off.
    Press and hold Menu.
    Power the device on.
Press and hold the Power button for 3-5 seconds.
Hold the Menu button until Safe mode appears (located in the lower left).
     To disable safe mode
    Power the device off.
Press and hold the Power button then select Power off.
To perform a factory reset: Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications.
From a home screen, select App menu (located in the lower right).
    Select Settings.
If the application icon is missing, select App menu filter (located at the top) then select All apps.
    Select Privacy.
    Select Factory Data Reset.
To clear all personal data, ensure Erase internal storage (media area) is enabled then select Reset Phone.
Enabled when a check mark is present.
If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
    Select Erase Everything.
    Perform initial activation setup process

  • Constantly dropping calls no matter the phone

All Verizon phones constantly drop calls in my house.  Signal constantly bounces from 2-4 bars when the phones aren't moving.  The only place I can make calls without dropping signal is if I step out in my back yard.  How do I put in a ticket or have someone check this out.  The problem has been here since I moved in 2 years ago, however it's progressively gotten worse.  Phones are HTC Winphone 8x and Samsung Brightside, but family's Droid X2, Iphone 4, Iphone 5, LG showtime, and a couple other basic phones all have same issue.

        Hi mtpica112471!
I apologize for the inconvenience because I realize the importance of operable service! Let's look into this. Current zip code? There can challenges present with indoor coverage.

  • Dropping Calls...EVERYDAY

I've been using a new Droid 4 for about 2 months now. It was working well. I then noticed that when speakin to my girlfriend, everynight (or morning) at 12:16am, the call drops. This happened 4 times. I called customer service, they reprovisioned me on the network and supposedly "rebooted' the towers. Throughout all these calls they just keep saying to me "thanks for being the best part of Verizon" and other cliche things. How about for the money I pay I get functional service? The day after my phone was reprovisioned the 2nd time, it didn't drop at 12:16am. It stayed until 12:20am. So then last night, I go to make a phone call, and to my dismay, 3 different numbers I tried did not work. I looked at my phone and it was 12:17am. I was told that an engineer would take an identical model phone and visit my area at the given time and test this, He said it could take up to 72 hours. That will be tonight. I still haven't any information. I was told a new SIM Card would be sent to me. But I see this as a ploy to make me not consider the days of dropped calls as a "proposed" fix is on the way.
Who do I need to speak with to have this resolved? This device is BRAND NEW! It never happened on my Droid 3. I work an evening shift and by the time I get home, its nearly midnight. This is when I have time to talk on the phone. Yet I cannot. What frightens me more is if it is this consistent that I notice it then...what about the time I don't know its happening and I'm just not getting calls? God forbid I have a heart attack and can't call for help. And that somewhat condescending tone when they ask if this is the only phone I have...well, in 2013, we don't carry house phones, cell phones, and live with 11 other people. I need a resolution. I pay a lot of money for Verizon. I want the service I pay for. The service that is supposedly the best in the country, but drops my calls in almost the exact same time EVERY night...on a newer phone/technology that I had prior. Who can help me on here??????

Where are you when you drop..is it to just one number? Where is that person at?
Try marking 5 dropped calls and have them issue a trouble ticket.. <Comments deleted per the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service.>

  • 4.3.2 iPhone upgrade and dropped calls.

Since upgrading to the 4.3.2 OS three days ago, I've been experiencing numerous dropped calls on the order of one every minute.  Calls linger in limbo before connecting and then drop.  Antena signal reads 3 bars.  I'm missing calls too.  I live in the same area and have NEVER had a problem with dropped calls until this update and it is really causing problems.  Why?  Is the phone failing?  Is this an update problem?  Is this a network problem?  Is anyone else experiencing this?

I am experiencing the same issue here in Germany, Network is T-Mobile.
Since upgrade to 4.3.2 I have dropped calls regularly with my iPhone4!!
This is getting more and more annoying.
What happens is: I am starting a call or am receiving a call. The call stays up for 1-5 minutes. During that time (randomly differs from 30 seconds to 5 minutes) all of a sudden the person on the other side does not hear me anymore! I am still able to hear him/her! After around 5-10 seconds after that happening, the connection is lost/cancelled. This is happening independently of the amount of bars, meaning it does not matter whether I am having 5, 3 or just one bar.
Please Apple solve this!! I cannot use my phone anymore the way it is supposed to work! Never had this issue before the upgrade in the same places - in fact, before the upgrade, I did not experience ANY dropped call whatsoever!!
BTW: I tried reboot, reset of all settings, backup, etc. - no positive effect.
