DROID in boot loop after OTA update

Just accepted the update today.  After phone updated and attempted to reboot...its in a continuous boot loop.  How can I stop it?

Try taking the battery out.  If it still loops when you try to power it on, then the only other thing to try besides a factory reset is to take it to a verizon store and see if they can do anything.

  • Z68a-gd65 boot loop after bios update using USB

    Hi there,
My  z68a-gd65 (G3) went into a boot loop after I did a bios update from a USB key that I installed using the latest BIOS version on the MSI site 7681vP8.zip
After the system restarted, it keeps booting up for 5 seconds and then shutting down, I removed all external devices and the Geforce GTX 550 Ti card and used the onboard card, but still no change...
Is there a way to set the board to factory defaults again???
    Marcel

    Hi there,
Maybe for others to solve the same problem, I found out what was the cause of this problem, I had a USB/Firewire card installed in the PC, after removing it the BIOS update could proceed from the USB stick as planned.
After the update though, my USB/firewire card can still not be installed back into the slot, because doing so will make the boot loop appear again, very odd!
Does anyone know why this new BIOS will not work with the card that has been inside my PC for 2 years???

  • MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) Boot loop after BIOS update

    Hi,
I've just updated my BIOS to 7681v42 from an earlier version (can't remember which one exactly) and after the update I am stuck in a boot loop. The computer turns on for about 5 seconds or so and then switches back off, the CPU fan, motherboard fan & video card fan spin for a few seconds then power is cut.
I've tried booting up with nothing else connected (no vga, memory, hdd, empty USB slots) to no avail. I have tried resetting the CMOS as well but I don't get any further than the reset loop.
Can anyone suggest something? Is there any way to force the MB to use the backup BIOS?
    Thanks in advance.

You can try doing this again with a single stick of ram or some different ram, but more than likely you will need to rma the board for re-flashing.

  • P67a-c43 boot loop after bios update

Last night, I attempted to update the bios on my P67A-C43 (B3) board using the version 5.1 bios. After the BIOS installed, it restarted and came up with the "all settings were reset to default values. press f1 to run setup. press f2 to continue" I hit f2 and my system keeps resetting in an infinite boot loop. I was able to reset the BIOS using the reset button on the back of the board to get back to the bios prompt, but pressing either f1 or f2 puts it back into the boot loop. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
The blue screens started after a clean Bios flash to the 18b10 bios then eventually it stopped working complety (just doing the start up cycle over and over)
I had tried reseting cmos and it doesnt make a difference, the motherboard will not post , boot , start up at all so default settings cant be set (although reseting cmos would set to default anyway)
Each time the board goes through the start up cycle (i.e. upon pressing start button the board will start up with fans spinning for a second then shut down, start up again with fans spinning for a second then shut down, continuasly repeating until main power is removed) I have used a multimeter to measure the voltage read points on the board and they show that there is no vcore being suplied to the cpu but all other points show the voltage is being supplied to those componants, so imo that is where the problem lies and I would sugest that the other ppl who are having this issue to also try  measuring the voltage read points and see if the same thing is happening on thier boards .
If others are getting the same results (no vcore) then the msi techs should be informed of this issue..(imo)
1.8b10 still is a beta bios. I got random bluescreens with that one also at some point a blinking bios led. So I flashed back from secondary bios (using the first option (change disable in enable)in "security" in the EFI shell to allow flashing from secondary bios), blinking bios led now stopped, Then I flashed with 1.7, no issues sofar cpu now running stable at 4.5Ghz (already 2 days).

  • 4404 WLC stuck in boot loop after upgrade

In prepping for the upgrade to 4.1.185.0 I've got two controllers at different sites stuck in a boot loop after applying 4.0.219.0. Units will not even get to the <ESC> option menu.
    ANy ideas?

Did you clear the configuration on the controller by using Option 5 in the boot menu? This will corrupt the boot image. You should not choose the clear config (option 5) from the boot menu on controllers running 3.2.78.0, 3.2.116.21, 3.2.150.6 or 3.2.150.10, 3.2.171.5 or 3.2.171.6, 4.0.155.5 or 4.0.179.8 and 4.0.179.11.

  • Z77A-G43 login loop after Live update BIOS to V25.1

    Hi,
Z77A-G43 windows login loop after Live update BIOS to V25.1
I'm able to see the BIOS menu. But when i continue to login to windows, it loops.
i would like to know on how to proceed on this. I tried safemode and i was able to login.
I cannot find the clear cmos jumper on this board.
Appreciate your response on this one. Thanks!
edit: I just tried removing the board battery. But still encountering the same issue.
    -Paul

There is no such BIOS version for this board.
The last BIOS is v2.11  see here http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77A-G43.html#/?div=BIOS
As for the CMOS jumper. This must be the most stupid saving that MSI has ever done. They leave out the jumper, obviously in an effort to save costs.
Check your manual to find the location of the clear CMOS pins. Then you need to short these with a jumper from somewhere else  or use a metal object to connect the pins.

  • Droid DNA - No SIM card after OTA update

I took the OTA update for the DNA today. Now my phone says it doesn't have a SIM card. Reboot does not solve the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?
Why can't Verizon properly test updates before unleashing them on its customers?

I have had the 'No SIM Card' issue before and after the software update, and am beginning to wonder if it's a hardware issue. Last night, I did not have a connection for nearly twenty minutes, and during that time I rebooted (quick power off as well as closing all apps) and turned airplane mode on/off about 20 times. I've had the No SiM card issue for about 3-4 weeks in varying occurrences. I've taken very good care of my phone, haven't dropped it, and haven't done anything to damage it, so I don't know what Verizon is going to do about this, but it's holding me back from updating my data plan and buying expensive accessories like the wireless charger.
Furthermore, if an emergency situation were to happen while this problem were occurring, I will absolutely hold Verizon responsible for any damages or injury caused by the inability to communicate through 911, etc.

  • HP Envy 6 - Boot Loop following Bios Update

    Hi All,
Having spent the better half of tonight trying to resolve an issue whereby my HP Envy 6 1232SA was stuck in a loop after what I thought was a failed bios update.
I received a message saying an UPDATE for my bios was available. I installed the update using the SP available from the download site. The laptop started the reboot process, powered down and wouldn't come back up. I was getting the dreaded BLACK SCREEN that everyone is talking about.
I did all the ususal things that people here were advising. That being trying to load into zombie mode via the WINBUTTON + B, loading a recovery bios onto a bootable flash drive, using the HP UEFI TOOLS and such. None of this was working. It was clear that the laptop sounded as though it was constantly rebooting. You could hear the CD make a whirring noise for a second, stop, and retry.
When using the WINBUTTON + B I was getting a single flashing light on the caps lock screen. I had been informed that this meant that there was a CPU problem and that the machine would need to be sent back for repair.
I am a Desktop support technician with 20 years of experience. This would have been the first time I had heard of a bios update damaging the CPU.
I did a little more digging such as removing battery and cmos battery and trying to get laptop to power, this was also not working. What I tried next resolved the problem for me.....
I had installed a SSD into the machine. I removed the SSD and tried booting the machine with no HDD in the drive, the machine immediately powered on and completed the flash process. After the flash process the machine complained of no HDD (as I hadn't yet reinstalled it). After it was reinstalled, the PC booted fine into windows.
So to those who are having the Black Screen issue after a bios update, you could possibly try removing your HDD and booting the laptop with no HDD to see if that forces the flash to finish.
I have absolutely no idea why a bios update wouldn't work due to an SSD being in the drive, but meh..... This fixed the issue for me.
Hopefully this will help someone out.

  • IPad fails to connect to WiFi after OTA update to iOS 6

After the OTA update to iOS 6 my new iPad fails to connect to my WiFi network at home. My LANCOM router reports the following issue:

Ereignis: Rejected Association from WLAN station xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx []: ()

Grund: Cannot support all requested capabilities in Capability Information field
It has worked flawlessly in the past with iOS 5 on my new iPad and iPhone 4. At the moment I hestitate to update my iPhone too.
Anyone with the same issue or an idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance, greetings from Stuttgart (Germany),

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • KB300061 - Boot loop after isntalling

We are in an enterprise running Win 7 x64 on all of our workstations. Our updates are managed by WSUS, and we have an auto approval setup to allow critical and security updates to be installed. This morning, several of our workstations requested a reboot
to finish applying updates. Upon rebooting, many of them were stuck in a boot loop. Windows would attempt to load, it would then blue screen for a fraction of a second, then brought up the recovery menu. Here's what we've tried:
    - Startup repair
    - MBR repair
    - SFC /scannow
    - DISM (tried removing packages individually and rolling back)
    - System restore (no restore points)
    - wusa to uninstall packages by KB (catastrophic failure)
    - Safe mode doesn't boot
None of what we knew to try worked. The one thing the computers stuck in the boot loop have in common is the model number. They are all HP Probooks, sharing the same model number. None of my other computers in the enterprise had trouble applying the updates.
I'm conflicted. Any advice or help would be appreciated!

  • Neo V goes in Boot-loop after Bluetooth Switch On on ICS

I have updated my Neo V to ICS from GB. As informed by Sony ICS ROM is bit slow and performance is affected too & Sony also informed customers that Xperia 2011 Phones are not going to have JB update. I AM OK WITH THAT.
But they never informed us that ICS ROM would be unstable to the extent that it can fail at any point of time. The Latest ROM of ICS goes in Boot-loop afer some switch on & off of Bluetooth, I have to flash the phone thrice thru SUS. I am unable to understand if a ROM can crash at any point, then what's the difference between Stock ROM (which needs approval at various points, at lest Sony Says that). If a ROM has serious Bugs which needs to be removed a OTA update is must. Dear Sony you need to learn to keep your promises by not just releasing ICS but a stable ROM of ICS.
If these are the service standards & build quality of Sony phones I think one should prefer cheap china phones instead.
Can some one from Sony help me doing away with boot-loop due to Bluetooth on ICS?????
