Droid Incredible 4GLTE And Charging Overseas

i have a question...i am going to be traveling overseas in early October and wanted to know if the USB Charger that i had with my old phone (it was an HTC Imagio) will work with my Droid because the old charger has a European plug on it

You can use the charger that came with your phone. Just make sure you pack an adapter.

  • Droid incredible 2 faulty charging port

I have a droid incredible 2 and have seen numerous posts on this website and on HTC's regarding a faulty charger port and wanted to hear of how people had this issues resolved or not.
Verizon, HTC, and PCD the company that repairs these phones for Verizon or something....all told me "unfortunately that isn't a KNOWN issue with this phone"? and that they are unable to help me unless I just buy a new phone at phone price. Are you serious? How many people have wrote on this forum and HTC's forums about this same exact issue and they want to act like its the first time theyve ever heard about it when I call. Seriously disappointed with the lack of customer service so far on this matter. How can you flat out lie about a problem so commonly discussed?
I am out of my 1 year time frame...but this is still a widely experienced and discussed problem on this phone. A problem is a problem, its not our fault that this port is bad on these phones. Mine just happened to take a little bit longer to surface and I don't think we should be responsible when something happens this way.
I bought a new car charger, wall charger, and even an extended life battery just to be certain it was the port itself. The phone charges 1/5 times that I try, and if so its barely significant.
Has anyone had experience getting their phone exchanged if it was after the 12 month mark?? What should I do. Thanks for any advice.
(In the future I will buy the insurance but I will never buy an HTC phone.)

First all, give it a little bit more time to charge.
If it still doesn't work, make sure the charger is not bad. The phone can be charged either using the wall charger or by plugging the USB cable into your computer. So first test both charging methods. If neither works, I say take your phone to a Verizon store and ask them to charge it using their charger. If they can charge it then likely your charger or USB cable might be bad. If they can't charge either then something is wrong with the phone or the battery.
Now about the loose charge port, one  likely cause is the black frame around the port that is making noise. I know that because I had the same problem and I took my phone to the store and asked them to show me another brand new phone and it had exactly the same problem. If you open the back cover you can see why. This problem shouldn't affect anything other than being annoying.
Edit: Didn't see your edit about light blinking when I wrote my reply. Could it be battery overheating? Or could it be bacause your phone is turned off while it's being charged. I have seen in other forums that people were saying it blinks if the phone is turned off or the battery is nearly dead.

  • HTC DROID INCREDIBLE DESKTOP SYNC & CHARGER FOR 2150 mAh BATTERY

While I await my HTC DROID INCREDIBLE I did what I always do when buying any mobile device; I ordered the largest capacity battery so I never have to put up with the low batt message. Talk to people all the time & they are always having to charge their batteries cause they never get the extended battery. Anyway, two 2150 mAh batteries with backs, are in route to my house. Question is, where is a desktop/sync charger for this phone that  will also charge these larger batteries
I will be needing to sync w/my PC. Like the desktop docking station style. Easier to see too.
    Anybody looking into this one???
Oh yeah, Yes, I gave up the iphone. To much inconsistency about the truth of whether Verizon was getting it. Jobs may have said it's coming to providers but as usual, no date.
Yes, I know about LTE. My antique E815 is dying & so was my patients
Hope this Incredible is a good one. I did notice the touch screen was excellent. That impressed me
Found this Sync/charger online. Company says it will accommodate the 2150 mHa battery while docked plus charge the second 2150 mAh battery too. Not sure I believe them.  I asked them if it didn't work can I return it. They told me yes but there would be a restocking fee. I replied, "You are guaranteeing me it will work but if for some reason it does not you are gonna charge me a restocking fee???" They said, "Yes". Don't like the sound of that.

i don't think that will work. the micro usb port on the phone is on the lower left side of it.....RIGHT where it appears the dock you posted has side grips for the phone. this looks more like a universal type of dock that would work.....if htc hadn't put the port on THE SIDE of the phone (don't get me started on this....i just dont get why they didn't put the port on the bottom???). i suspect that there is no real dock for the inc because the port is on the side and our homescreen doesn't go to landscape mode (don't get me started on that either). there are some decent universal stands that i've seen....but nothing that the phone will just plug into.

  • Droid Incredible 2 and Bionic batteries found

Just decided to share. Found a 1800mah and 3600mah batteries for HTC Droid Incredible 2: http://mugen.tv/?p=681
Also one for 4000mah for Bionic:

Thanks for your replies. On the old Droid phone, it was definitely my actual Picasa Web Albums I was accessing through the Gallery. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but it was a Motorola phone, not HTC. Anyway, I solved my own problem for my purposes. I accessed the website directly, and made a bookmark. When I'm in any of my picasa web albums, I can select my picture and then use it for my wallpaper or save it to my device. This was the main reason I was looking for the albums in my gallery. It isn't as quick to access because I go through the browser instead of Gallery to access but I am happy with it and can get used to a new way of accessing my photos. Thanks again!

  • Droid Incredible 2 Speakers ...

Has anyone found that using the speaker mode on the phone pretty much makes it easier for you to hear the conversation, but makes it almost impossible for the person on the other end of the conversation to understand you?
That seems common for me, my Droid Incredible 2, and .
    Perhaps mine is a lemon?
    -Brian

quite frankly, it sounds bad. do you store everything on the phone's internal memory? you don't have an sd card? i REALLY hope they can help you. however, (and i know this doesn't help you now) in the future, if you go into the camera settings, you can have all of your pics saved to the sd card. also, you can either sync your account with google or backup assistant (you may have your contacts in one of these places already, and didn't even realize it). if you have been using the sd card for all of this, then there is nothing to worry about, as a factory reset will only wipe the phone. it does not wipe the sd card. if you have been using an sd card, take it out now. you can at least salvage whatever is on it.

  • Droid incredible 2: phone says that i need to insert an sd card

Ever since I got my replacement phone whenever I open up my camera or photos my phone will say that I need to insert an SD card. Problem is that I already put in my SD card so I've no idea why it's asking for it. Anyone know what's up with my phone?

    hudtownman wrote:
    I have gotten this to.
My theory is that is has something to do with the fact the my SD card came from a Fascinate and now I am using it in a Droid Incredible 2 and there may be some compatiability issues.
When I get that message, I do one of two things....restart the phone or pull the SD card and re-insert. One of them usually works and I have no issues after that.
My fear is that the correct solution is to reformat the SD card which would wipe it clean and I do not want to do that.
Yes, it's certainly possible that the card should be reformatted.   But can you read it in a computer?   If so, I would just copy all the contents off, reformat in the DINC2, then put the card in the computer and copy the contents back.

  • Droid incredible 2 manual

i just got this droid incredible 2 and i am a **bleep**..how do you download a manual? how do you sign up for text? this thing confuses the heck out of me..i will check with my 12-year old grandson when he gets here for christmas....i am pretty much lost....they did enough at the bestbuy store, but when i try to get apps, etc.....i am in a sea of confusion.....help!!!

    Good afternoon joe1943.
I know Smartphones can be challenging when brand new.  Especially if you've never had one before, but I can certainly help!
When you activated your Incredible 2, did you set it up? Sign in or create a Google account?  If you haven't, this may be why downloading apps is a bit more difficult.  Do you have a text messaging plan?  If not, you can add one via My Verizon.  You can select Change Features under Plan, toward the bottom of the page if you are signed in as the Account Owner.  There are 3 different options for assistance with your new device!
You can view the online simulator at the following link: Droid Incredible 2 Online Simulator
You can download the manual at this link: Droid Incredible 2 User Manual
You can also sign up for one of our workshops: Wireless Workshops
If you still need assistance, please send me a Private Message and I will be happy to personally help you!
    Thank you,

  • DROID INCREDIBLE 2 problem

I just turned on my new droid Incredible 2 and tryed to Activate it and a Verizon data widget came up and it sayed new data widget is available you can't clear it out  what should I do

    Hi lroweton,
I understand your concern regarding the phone giving you the message that you need a PUK code. This is something that is only used with global devices. You listed your device as a Droid Incredible, which is not a global device. In case you have recently switched to a global phone, I can assist you with the code you need. You can log in to your My Verizon account and get the code by following these steps.
    Sign in to My Verizon.
Locate the I Want To... section of the home page.
    Select More Actions.
Select Phone Details in the PROFILE column.
Select Unlock SIM (PUK) Now. The Default PIN and Personal Unblocking Key display.
If you receive an error message that you have been locked out, you can try getting it replaced at a store, depending on if the store has any in stock, or you can send me a PM with your name, mobile number, and a contact number. I can then reach out to you and order a SIM card.
You can find the closest stores by visiting:
    Store Locator
The inventory of SIM cards will depend on the store location, but by using this link you can find all of the stores in your area.
I hope this information is helpful. Have a good day!

  • When I plug my Droid Incredible 2 into a car charger the phone is now permanently in"Car Mode" and won't get out. I heard that Droid will fix this, but it hasn't happened.  Does anyone know how to fix i

I have a Droid Incredible 2 phone.  I bought  car charger and ever since I have used it, the phone thinks it is in "car mode" even when the phone is in my home, my purse,...I sets to speaker and I can not hear the phone ring.  It freezes on "car mode".  I heard that Droid is supposed to be fixing the problem, but nothing has happened yet.  Is anyone else having this problem, and does anyone at Verizon know when/if this will be fixed.  If not, I expect a new phone from Verizon.

there are two ways, usually if u restart the phone it will reset, but the other is going to your system and shut it off manually...

  • Droid Incredible 2 won't turn on or charge.

I have had this problem before, right after I got the DINC2. Yesterday, I wanted to take out my memory card to save pictures on my computer via a usb card reader. I turned my phone off by pressing the power button and selecting power off. I removed my battery, and then removed the memory card. After transferring my pictures, I placed the memory card back in the DINC2, and placed the battery and cover back on the device. I pushed the power button, and NOTHING. The phone won't turn on. I plugged it in to the charger, and the amber light won't even come on. I thought it might be the charger, so I used the USB cord attached to the computer, and still no charging light. I have removed the battery overnight, and just let it set. When I reinstalled the battery this morning, still nothing. The charging light does not come on, and I can't power up the device.
I had this problem before. I had let the battery run down to nothing and the device powered itself off. Same scenario, the charge light would not come on when plugged into the charger, and I couldn't power up the device. I left the battery out overnight, and the next morning the device still wouldn't power on. I placed the phone in my car, and plugged in my car charger. After a few minutes, the amber light came on, and I was able to power up the device. This, however, did not work this time. Nothing I try helps.
Is this a common problem? How should I go about getting this resolved?
      Thanks,
      Brian

    Hi Brian,
It must be frustrating not being able to power your phone on. I checked my resources and this is not noted as a known issue with the Droid Incredible 2. Since you are not able to power on the phone, there is nothing we can troubleshoot by phone. I recommend to bring your device to a Verizon Wireless store for a hands on evaluation. You can find a Verizon Wireless store near you by entering your ZIP code at vzw.com/storelocator online.

  • Droid Incredible 4g lte won't charge

Ok I have had my phone for only six months and it was working perfectly. Then last night I went to charge it and the charge light would not come on and it would not charge. I have tried three different chargers and the same thing happens each time. I am not really sure why, is there something that i could have done to it or is it an error in the phone. By the way, I had the Droid incredible 2 before this, and it did the exact same thing.

        Hi Tymc,
I'm sorry to learn of the trouble you have had in charging your phone. Since posting your comment, has the issue been resolved? If you have tried three different chargers, the issue is most likely with the device. Has there been any physical or liquid damage to the device? When looking at the charging port, do you see any debris, slightly bent connectors, or a change in color? Please supply any additional details, thank you!

  • Droid Incredible 2 Charging Issues

    Hello,
I am experiencing charging port issues w/ the Droid Incredible 2. It seems like everyone who owns this phone is experiencing that exact issue. Does verizon have anything in place to correct these issues?
I would just call customer service, but seeing as how my phone is not functioning and I don't have access to any one currently I am posting on here.
My phone shows it is charging but it is not. Sometimes it will actually back drain the phone.
    Someone please help.

We are on second "Dinc2" and it has gotten the same issue at about 10 months.  WE are eligible for an upgrade, but were holding out for the Galaxy S4.  Sadly, it doesn't look like we're going to make it.

  • Droid Incredible 2 charging?

I have had my Droid Incredible 2 for almost a year.  Just recently, it hasn't been charging.  In fact it is plugged in right now with the orange light and it says "charging", however it says that the charger I am using is not giving sufficient power and that I need to switch to AC power.  I am using the charger that was given to me with the phone and it is plugged directly to the wall.  I am actually losing power while it is plugged in.  I am not exactly sure what is going on.  Can someone please explain this>?

Mine started doing the same thing on the same day!! what the heck is going on. Now I cannot even turn my phone on and it will not charge at all!

  • Droid Incredible 2 - Will No Charge

I have had my Droid Incredible 2 for a couple of months now, loved the phone except for the past couple of weeks.  All of a sudden the battery would charge sporadically. Went to the store I purchased it at, of course they had to keep the phone for about a half hour to try and charge it.  They came back and said it wasn't charging, so I was given a new battey under warranty.  That lasted for about a week and now I'm back to having a phone that would charge sporadically.  One day it would charge on the regular charger, but the next day it wouldn't.  I then would charge it on the car charger and like the regular charger it would work one day but not the next, but would on the regular charger.  Has any one else come across this problem?????
I go to the store again today, of course they didn't take my word for it so they again tried to see if would charge, guess what it didn't.  I explained my situtaion, that my son has a medical condition and I need a working phone asap, like now.  We don't give a new phone it has to be a refurbished phone via fedex the next day.  Now my son's school is to call my cell incase of an emergency, I will now be with out a phone for almost 24 hours.  God help them that he does not have a seizure and turn blue and stop breathing and the school can't get a hold of me.  You would think with the price we pay for the phone and the maintence, that the phone is only a couple of months old that we would be able to get a new phone, I really don't want a refurbished phone that was soneone elses problem headache.

I think Elitist_jerk was just trying to be helpful.  I have worked in field service for years and can tell you that no product is 100% reliable.  If having a phone is this vitally important to you then you need redundancy.  Maybe getting a second phone from another carrier(pay-as-you-go) or adding another line to your vzw account for $10/month.
I feel for you and your situation and just want to help.  Hopefully nothing happened during this 24 hours but I would suggest using it as a reason to be better prepared if it should happen again.  Vzw isn't going to change their policies anything soon, where would you be if this happened again tomorrow?
